I am creating some JSON on the fly, serializing it and saving it to the DB.
To run it, i create a script element, and load it that way.
Is there a way to load the script source to a textarea?
is there a way to change the order data from a DB are read ? you know , the default order is that they are read from the first data inserted to the latest so is there a way to change it to latest-first?
In my Django app, I just ran
$ python manage.py sqlall
and I see a lot of SQL statements that look like this, when describing FK relationships:
ALTER TABLE `app1_model1` ADD CONSTRAINT model2_id_refs_id_728de91f FOREIGN KEY (`model2_id`) REFERENCES `app1_model2` (`id`);
Where does "7218de91f" come from? I would like to know because I'd like to manually write SQL statements to accompany models changes in the app so that my db's can be kept up to date.
Hi Experts,
I am having an issue with importing a large(60MB) CSV file in MYSQL DB.
The problem arises when an address field has multiple comma seperated values e.g. home no, street no, town etc.
I tried to use BigDump for it but, the problem did not solved because of a single field containing multiple comma separated values.
Any idea, suggestion or solution from experts how to handle it?
Please reply, because I am sick of it.
Thanks
I am trying to create a simple Icon+Text ListView but it does not work.
I am using 2.1 Android SDK.
My main class is very small slightly modified from the tutorial:
public class Stuffs extends ListActivity {
static final String[] COUNTRIES = new String[] {"A", "B","C"};
/** Called when the activity is first created. */
@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.list_item, R.id.title, COUNTRIES));
}
}
and my list_item.xml file is this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation = "horizontal">
<ImageView
android:id = "@+id/icon"
android:src="@drawable/icon" />
<TextView
android:id = "@+id/title"
android:padding="10dp"
android:textSize="16sp" >
</TextView>
</LinearLayout>
I have also created a "drawable" directory in my res directory and copied a "icon.png" into it.
But any time I try to run this the application hangs up unexpected in my android emulator.
Am I missing something?
I would like to create a copy of a database with approximately 40 InnoDB tables and around 1.5GB of data with mysqldump and MySQL 5.1.
What are the best parameters (ie: --single-transaction) that will result in the quickest dump and load of the data?
As well, when loading the data into the second DB, is it quicker to:
1) pipe the results directly to the second MySQL server instance and use the --compress option
or
2) load it from a text file (ie: mysql < my_sql_dump.sql)
I intend to perform some automated integration tests. This requires the db to be put back into a 'clean state'. Is this the fastest/best way to do this?
var cfg = new Configuration();
cfg.Configure();
cfg.AddAssembly("Bla");
new SchemaExport(cfg).Execute(false, true, false);
hi, i have 2 object: user, group that have a relationship many to many
i want create a user and associate some groups to it.
How can i do it?
thanks
I've tried with this. but it's wrong:
user = new User();
List<int> gruppi = new List<int>() {1,2};

I have an application that stores large amount of files (XML and binary) in folder hierarchies. Currently the main method is storing them in file system or using a legacy CMS, which we want to get rid of.
The CMS supports Oracle and a customer wants to keep the files in Oracle because of enterprise policies (backup etc.)
The question is: Is there a simple implementation of file repository with folder hierarchy for Oracle? What I am looking for is a small .Net component or example code (PL/SQL and/or .Net) that would have the following methods:
Create, Delete, Exists Folder
CRUD file
Move and potentially Copy file or directory
Access to files and folders with paths like "/root/folder1/folder2/file.xml"
Ability to get all the files and folders in a folder and potentially also the entire directory tree
Tree traversal, getting the parent, all children etc. needs to be fast.
I need the implementation in .Net, but if it was just the stored procedures, I could create the .Net calling code. I have pointers to generic articles for creating hierarchies in DB, so if I need to do it from scratch, I know where to start. What I am asking here, is there already an implementation that I could take without doing this from scratch? It seems like such a generic requirement...
If the answer is a CMS, Document management system or such it should be Open Source or at least quite cheap (some hundreds / server) and it should be possible to deploy it XCopy - hopefully only couple of DLL:s. I do not need - or want - a full featured big CMS with dozens of dlls and especially not an msi-installation.
I have tried to google this, but the words "repository", "CMS", "file hierarchy" etc. give so many answers, the searches are pretty much useless.
Thanks, OPe
i have a table called Cars and the primary key of the table is 'id'. I also have a field called 'name'. I would like to make sure no one enters the same name twice even though it wont break my db integrity.
what is the best way of doing this?
Hi-- I have a UK date in the format "06/Apr/2010 13:24" that I need to insert into a mysql db date field.
The PHP strtotime function can't handle this string-- has anyone got any ideas other than writing a custom function?
Thanks!
i would like to reduce the live threads on server to reduce the bandwidth consumption for data(data pull while application launching time) transfer from my application to clients in my application.

When i dump a table with uppercase letters using mysqldump it comes out as lower case in my dump.sql file. I found a report here in 2006, almost 4 years old http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=19967
A solution here suggest making linux insensitive. I rather not if possible. Whats the easiest way to copy a win32 db into linux?
My objective is to abort the NSXMLParser when I parse an item that already exists in cache. The basic flow of the program works like this:
1) Program starts and downloads an XML feed. Each item in the feed is represented by a custom object (FeedItem). Each FeedItem gets added to an array.
2) When the parsing is complete the contents of the array (all FeedItem objects) are archived to the disk.
The next time the program is executed or the feed is refreshed by the user I begin parsing again; however, since a cache (array) now exists as each item is parsed I want to see if the object exists in the cache. If it does then I know I have downloaded all the new items and no longer need to continue parsing.
What I am learning, I think, is that I can't use indexOfObject or indexOfObjectIDenticalTo: because these really seem to be checking to see that the objects are using the same memory address (thus identical).
What I want to do is see if the contents of the object are equal (or at least some of the contents). I've done some research and found that I can override the IsEqual method; however, I really don't want to iterate/enumerate through the entire cache contents table for every newly parsed XML FeedItem. Is iterating through the collection and testing each one for equality the only way to do this or is there a better technique I am not aware of?
Currently I am using the following code though I know it needs to change:
NSUInteger index = [self.feedListCache.feedList indexOfObject:self.currentFeedItem];
if (index == NSNotFound) {
}
I don't know the best way to title this question but am trying to accomplish the following goal:
When a client logs into their profile, they are presented with a link to download data from an existing database in CSV format. The process works, however, I would like for this data to be 'fresh' each time they click the link so my plan was - once a user has clicked the link and downloaded the CSV file, the database table would 'erase' all of its data and start fresh (be empty) until the next set of data populated it.
My EXISTING CSV creation code:
<?php
$host = 'localhost';
$user = 'username';
$pass = 'password';
$db = 'database';
$table = 'tablename';
$file = 'export';
$link = mysql_connect($host, $user, $pass) or die("Can not connect." . mysql_error());
mysql_select_db($db) or die("Can not connect.");
$result = mysql_query("SHOW COLUMNS FROM ".$table."");
$i = 0;
if (mysql_num_rows($result) > 0) {
while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) {
$csv_output .= $row['Field'].", ";
$i++;
}
}
$csv_output .= "\n";
$values = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM ".$table."");
while ($rowr = mysql_fetch_row($values)) {
for ($j=0;$j<$i;$j++) {
$csv_output .= '"'.$rowr[$j].'",';
}
$csv_output .= "\n";
}
$filename = $file."_".date("Y-m-d",time());
header("Content-type: application/vnd.ms-excel");
header("Content-disposition: csv" . date("Y-m-d") . ".csv");
header( "Content-disposition: filename=".$filename.".csv");
print $csv_output;
exit;
?>
any ideas?
hello, I want to save a query only one time in the database, this is my code:
$querystat = mysql_real_escape_string($_GET['q']);
$datetime = time();
if( ($querystat != $_SESSION['prev_search']) OR ( ($datetime - $_SESSION['datetime']) > 60) ) {
$insertquery = "INSERT INTO `query` ( `searchquery` , `datetime`) VALUES ( '$querystat' , '$datetime') ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE searchquery='$querystat';";
mysql_query($insertquery, $db);
}
maybe something with == 0 ?
Hi,
Im building a web application that displays a xfdf document.
When we are testing in adobe 5 and we can't stop adobe opening outside the webpage.
The user clicks the report and it should open in the browser but instead it opens in adobe
it appears to work in everything but adobe 5. We have previously done this with out any problems.
Any ideas?
This is a snippet of the xfdf
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?><xfdf xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/xfdf/" xml:space="preserve"> <fields> <field name="fld_AccomAttic"> <value>0</value> </field> <field name="fld_AccomBathroom"> <value>1</value> </field> <field name="fld_AccomBedrooms"> <value>3</value> </field> <field name="fld_AccomCellars"> <value>0</value> </field> <field name="fld_AccomGarages"> <value>Off</value> </field><f href="{report name}"/></xfdf>
Any help would be great

I've created a Dynamic Data project with an Entity Framework model. It works nicely. But, right now it shows all my database tables with the db column names - which aren't always the most friendly (e.g. address_line_1). How can I got about giving these more friendly column titles that will display to the end user?
I have a table with
name varchar
address varchar
country varchar
city varchar
.....
to store address of location
example:
name|address|country
HaLong hotel|156 blahblah street|Vietnam
Hotel Ha Long|156 blah blah|Vietnam
Two rows above is duplicate data.
I have a form, when user submit new location. The code need to find akin records to give a message (ex: This location already in db, use it or create new?)
How to make a query to get akin record like this?
How would I execute a query equivalent to "select top 10" in couch db?
For example I have a "schema" like so:
title body modified
and I want to select the last 10 modified documents.
As an added bonus if anyone can come up with a way to do the same only per category. So for:
title category body modified
return a list of latest 10 documents in each category.
I am just wandering if such a query is possible in couchdb.
Hi
In my mode I am selecting a field as
$query1 = $this->db->query("SELECT dPassword
FROM tbl_login
WHERE dEmailID='[email protected]'");
How to return dpassword as a variable to my controller
I tried this way return dpassword;
I'm new to writing AJAX applications. I plan on using jQuery on the client side while PHP on the server side. I want to use something like XML-RPC to simplify my effort in calling server-side code. Ideally, I wouldn't care whether the transport layer uses XML or JSON or a format more optimized for the wire.
If I was writing a console app I'd use some tool to generate function stubs which I would then implement on the RPC server while the client would natively call into those stubs. This provides a clean separation. Is there something similar available in the AJAX world?
While on this topic, how would I proceed with session management? I would want it to be as transparent as possible. For example, if I try to hit an RPC end-point which needs a valid session, it should reject the request if the client doesn't pass a valid session cookie.
This would really ease my application development. I'd then have to simply handle the frontend using native JS functions. While on the backend, I can simply implement the RPC functions.
BTW I dont wish to use Google Web Toolkit. My app wont be extremely heavy on AJAX.
If e.g. I keep control markup in DB instead of ascx file.
How can I load control from string constant?
(of course if I don't want to save copy to disk)
Hello all,
Does anyone know of a DB setting in DotNetNuke, where you can configure ALL modules to disable print or maximize&minimize? Just so I don't have to configure every module individually.
How can I make it a default?
Thanks again!
