  • Change made in the Converter will notify the change in the bound property?

    - by Kishore Kumar
    I have two property FirstName and LastName and bound to a textblock using Multibinidng and converter to display the FullName as FirstName + Last Name. FirstName="Kishore" LastName="Kumar" In the Converter I changed the LastName as "Changed Text" values[1] = "Changed Text"; After executing the Converter my TextBlock will show "Kishore Changed Text" but Dependency property LastName is still have the last value "Kumar". Why I am not getting the "Changed Text" value in the LastName property after the execution?. Will the change made at converter will notify the bound property? <Window.Resources> <local:NameConverter x:Key="NameConverter"></local:NameConverter> </Window.Resources> <Grid> <TextBlock> <TextBlock.Text> <MultiBinding Converter="{StaticResource NameConverter}"> <Binding Path="FirstName"></Binding> <Binding Path="LastName"></Binding> </MultiBinding> </TextBlock.Text> </TextBlock> </Grid> Converter: public class NameConverter:IMultiValueConverter { #region IMultiValueConverter Members public object Convert(object[] values, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { values[1] = "Changed Text"; return values[0].ToString() + " " + values[1].ToString(); } public object[] ConvertBack(object value, Type[] targetTypes, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { throw new NotImplementedException(); } #endregion }

  • SQLiteDataAdapter Fill exception C# ADO.NET

    - by Lirik
    I'm trying to use the OleDb CSV parser to load some data from a CSV file and insert it into a SQLite database, but I get an exception with the OleDbAdapter.Fill method and it's frustrating: An unhandled exception of type 'System.Data.ConstraintException' occurred in System.Data.dll Additional information: Failed to enable constraints. One or more rows contain values violating non-null, unique, or foreign-key constraints. Here is the source code: public void InsertData(String csvFileName, String tableName) { String dir = Path.GetDirectoryName(csvFileName); String name = Path.GetFileName(csvFileName); using (OleDbConnection conn = new OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" + dir + @";Extended Properties=""Text;HDR=No;FMT=Delimited""")) { conn.Open(); using (OleDbDataAdapter adapter = new OleDbDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM " + name, conn)) { QuoteDataSet ds = new QuoteDataSet(); adapter.Fill(ds, tableName); // <-- Exception here InsertData(ds, tableName); // <-- Inserts the data into the my SQLite db } } } class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { SQLiteDatabase target = new SQLiteDatabase(); string csvFileName = "D:\\Innovations\\Finch\\dev\\DataFeed\\YahooTagsInfo.csv"; string tableName = "Tags"; target.InsertData(csvFileName, tableName); Console.ReadKey(); } } The "YahooTagsInfo.csv" file looks like this: tagId,tagName,description,colName,dataType,realTime 1,s,Symbol,symbol,VARCHAR,FALSE 2,c8,After Hours Change,afterhours,DOUBLE,TRUE 3,g3,Annualized Gain,annualizedGain,DOUBLE,FALSE 4,a,Ask,ask,DOUBLE,FALSE 5,a5,Ask Size,askSize,DOUBLE,FALSE 6,a2,Average Daily Volume,avgDailyVolume,DOUBLE,FALSE 7,b,Bid,bid,DOUBLE,FALSE 8,b6,Bid Size,bidSize,DOUBLE,FALSE 9,b4,Book Value,bookValue,DOUBLE,FALSE I've tried the following: Removing the first line in the CSV file so it doesn't confuse it for real data. Changing the TRUE/FALSE realTime flag to 1/0. I've tried 1 and 2 together (i.e. removed the first line and changed the flag). None of these things helped... One constraint is that the tagId is supposed to be unique. Here is what the table look like in design view: Can anybody help me figure out what is the problem here?

  • SQLiteDataAdapter Update method returning 0 C#

    - by Lirik
    I loaded 83 rows from my CSV file, but when I try to update the SQLite database I get 0 rows... I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. The program outputs: Num rows loaded is 83 Num rows updated is 0 The source code is: public void InsertData(String csvFileName, String tableName) { String dir = Path.GetDirectoryName(csvFileName); String name = Path.GetFileName(csvFileName); using (OleDbConnection conn = new OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" + dir + @";Extended Properties=""Text;HDR=Yes;FMT=Delimited\""")) { conn.Open(); using (OleDbDataAdapter adapter = new OleDbDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM " + name, conn)) { QuoteDataSet ds = new QuoteDataSet(); adapter.Fill(ds, tableName); Console.WriteLine("Num rows loaded is " + ds.Tags.Rows.Count); InsertData(ds, tableName); } } } public void InsertData(QuoteDataSet data, String tableName) { using (SQLiteConnection conn = new SQLiteConnection(_connectionString)) { using (SQLiteDataAdapter sqliteAdapter = new SQLiteDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM " + tableName, conn)) { using (new SQLiteCommandBuilder(sqliteAdapter)) { conn.Open(); Console.WriteLine("Num rows updated is " + sqliteAdapter.Update(data, tableName)); } } } } Any hints on why it's not updating the correct number of rows?

  • Parsing "true" and "false" using Boost.Spirit.Lex and Boost.Spirit.Qi

    - by Andrew Ross
    As the first stage of a larger grammar using Boost.Spirit I'm trying to parse "true" and "false" to produce the corresponding bool values, true and false. I'm using Spirit.Lex to tokenize the input and have a working implementation for integer and floating point literals (including those expressed in a relaxed scientific notation), exposing int and float attributes. Token definitions #include <boost/spirit/include/lex_lexertl.hpp> namespace lex = boost::spirit::lex; typedef boost::mpl::vector<int, float, bool> token_value_type; template <typename Lexer> struct basic_literal_tokens : lex::lexer<Lexer> { basic_literal_tokens() { this->self.add_pattern("INT", "[-+]?[0-9]+"); int_literal = "{INT}"; // To be lexed as a float a numeric literal must have a decimal point // or include an exponent, otherwise it will be considered an integer. float_literal = "{INT}(((\\.[0-9]+)([eE]{INT})?)|([eE]{INT}))"; literal_true = "true"; literal_false = "false"; this->self = literal_true | literal_false | float_literal | int_literal; } lex::token_def<int> int_literal; lex::token_def<float> float_literal; lex::token_def<bool> literal_true, literal_false; }; Testing parsing of float literals My real implementation uses Boost.Test, but this is a self-contained example. #include <string> #include <iostream> #include <cmath> #include <cstdlib> #include <limits> bool parse_and_check_float(std::string const & input, float expected) { typedef std::string::const_iterator base_iterator_type; typedef lex::lexertl::token<base_iterator_type, token_value_type > token_type; typedef lex::lexertl::lexer<token_type> lexer_type; basic_literal_tokens<lexer_type> basic_literal_lexer; base_iterator_type input_iter(input.begin()); float actual; bool result = lex::tokenize_and_parse(input_iter, input.end(), basic_literal_lexer, basic_literal_lexer.float_literal, actual); return result && std::abs(expected - actual) < std::numeric_limits<float>::epsilon(); } int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { if (parse_and_check_float("+31.4e-1", 3.14)) { return EXIT_SUCCESS; } else { return EXIT_FAILURE; } } Parsing "true" and "false" My problem is when trying to parse "true" and "false". This is the test code I'm using (after removing the Boost.Test parts): bool parse_and_check_bool(std::string const & input, bool expected) { typedef std::string::const_iterator base_iterator_type; typedef lex::lexertl::token<base_iterator_type, token_value_type > token_type; typedef lex::lexertl::lexer<token_type> lexer_type; basic_literal_tokens<lexer_type> basic_literal_lexer; base_iterator_type input_iter(input.begin()); bool actual; lex::token_def<bool> parser = expected ? basic_literal_lexer.literal_true : basic_literal_lexer.literal_false; bool result = lex::tokenize_and_parse(input_iter, input.end(), basic_literal_lexer, parser, actual); return result && actual == expected; } but compilation fails with: boost/spirit/home/qi/detail/assign_to.hpp: In function ‘void boost::spirit::traits::assign_to(const Iterator&, const Iterator&, Attribute&) [with Iterator = __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<const char*, std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> > >, Attribute = bool]’: boost/spirit/home/lex/lexer/lexertl/token.hpp:434: instantiated from ‘static void boost::spirit::traits::assign_to_attribute_from_value<Attribute, boost::spirit::lex::lexertl::token<Iterator, AttributeTypes, HasState>, void>::call(const boost::spirit::lex::lexertl::token<Iterator, AttributeTypes, HasState>&, Attribute&) [with Attribute = bool, Iterator = __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<const char*, std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> > >, AttributeTypes = boost::mpl::vector<int, float, bool, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na, mpl_::na>, HasState = mpl_::bool_<true>]’ ... backtrace of instantiation points .... boost/spirit/home/qi/detail/assign_to.hpp:79: error: no matching function for call to ‘boost::spirit::traits::assign_to_attribute_from_iterators<bool, __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<const char*, std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> > >, void>::call(const __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<const char*, std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> > >&, const __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<const char*, std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> > >&, bool&)’ boost/spirit/home/qi/detail/construct.hpp:64: note: candidates are: static void boost::spirit::traits::assign_to_attribute_from_iterators<bool, Iterator, void>::call(const Iterator&, const Iterator&, char&) [with Iterator = __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<const char*, std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> > >] My interpretation of this is that Spirit.Qi doesn't know how to convert a string to a bool - surely that's not the case? Has anyone else done this before? If so, how?

  • Binding IsReadOnly using IValueConverter

    - by mastur cheef
    Maybe I'm misunderstanding how to use an IValueConverter or data binding (which is likely), but I am currently trying to set the IsReadOnly property of a DataGridTextColumn depending on the value of a string. Here is the XAML: <DataGridTextColumn Binding="{Binding Path=GroupDescription}" Header="Name" IsReadOnly="{Binding Current, Converter={StaticResource currentConverter}}"/> And here is my converter: public class CurrentConverter : IValueConverter { public object Convert(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { string s = value as string; if (s == "Current") { return false; } else { return true; } } public object ConvertBack(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { throw new NotSupportedException(); } } Currently, the column is always editable, the converter seems to do nothing. Does anyone have some thoughts as to why this is happening?

  • Panning weirdness on an UserControl

    - by Matías
    Hello, I'm trying to build my own "PictureBox like" control adding some functionalities. For example, I want to be able to pan over a big image by simply clicking and dragging with the mouse. The problem seems to be on my OnMouseMove method. If I use the following code I get the drag speed and precision I want, but of course, when I release the mouse button and try to drag again the image is restored to its original position. using System.Drawing; using System.Windows.Forms; namespace Testing { public partial class ScrollablePictureBox : UserControl { private Image image; private bool centerImage; public Image Image { get { return image; } set { image = value; Invalidate(); } } public bool CenterImage { get { return centerImage; } set { centerImage = value; Invalidate(); } } public ScrollablePictureBox() { InitializeComponent(); SetStyle(ControlStyles.AllPaintingInWmPaint | ControlStyles.OptimizedDoubleBuffer, true); Image = null; AutoScroll = true; AutoScrollMinSize = new Size(0, 0); } private Point clickPosition; private Point scrollPosition; protected override void OnMouseDown(MouseEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseDown(e); clickPosition.X = e.X; clickPosition.Y = e.Y; } protected override void OnMouseMove(MouseEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseMove(e); if (e.Button == MouseButtons.Left) { scrollPosition.X = clickPosition.X - e.X; scrollPosition.Y = clickPosition.Y - e.Y; AutoScrollPosition = scrollPosition; } } protected override void OnPaint(PaintEventArgs e) { base.OnPaint(e); e.Graphics.FillRectangle(new Pen(BackColor).Brush, 0, 0, e.ClipRectangle.Width, e.ClipRectangle.Height); if (Image == null) return; int centeredX = AutoScrollPosition.X; int centeredY = AutoScrollPosition.Y; if (CenterImage) { //Something not relevant } AutoScrollMinSize = new Size(Image.Width, Image.Height); e.Graphics.DrawImage(Image, new RectangleF(centeredX, centeredY, Image.Width, Image.Height)); } } } But if I modify my OnMouseMove method to look like this: protected override void OnMouseMove(MouseEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseMove(e); if (e.Button == MouseButtons.Left) { scrollPosition.X += clickPosition.X - e.X; scrollPosition.Y += clickPosition.Y - e.Y; AutoScrollPosition = scrollPosition; } } ... you will see that the dragging is not smooth as before, and sometimes behaves weird (like with lag or something). What am I doing wrong? I've also tried removing all "base" calls on a desperate movement to solve this issue, haha, but again, it didn't work. Thanks for your time.

  • Spitting out a Index view using parameters

    - by George
    Hello guys. I'm using ASP.MVC and trying to learn... I have the following controller // get all authors public ActionResult Index() { var autores = autorRepository.FindAllAutores(); return View("Index", autores); } // get authors by type public ActionResult Index(int id) { var autores = autorRepository.FindAllAutoresPorTipo(id); return View("Index", autores); } If i try http://server/Autor/1 I get a 404 error. Why is that? I even tried to create a specific method ListByType(int id) and the correspondent view, but that does not work too (URL: http://server/Autor/ListByType/1) Any ideas? Thanks in advanced EDIT Oh, the http://server/Autor works just fine. The method without parameters is spitting out my view correctly.

  • recursive function to get all the child categories

    - by user253530
    Here is what I'm trying to do: - i need a function that when passed as an argument an ID (for a category of things) will provide all the subcategories and the sub-sub categories and sub-sub-sub..etc. - i was thinking to use a recursive function since i don't know the number of subcategories their sub-subcategories and so on so here is what i've tried to do so far function categoryChild($id) { $s = "SELECT * FROM PLD_CATEGORY WHERE PARENT_ID = $id"; $r = mysql_query($s); if(mysql_num_rows($r) > 0) { while($row = mysql_fetch_array($r)) echo $row['ID'].",".categoryChild($row['ID']); } else { $row = mysql_fetch_array($r); return $row['ID']; } } If i use return instead of echo, i won't get the same result. I need some help in order to fix this or rewrite it from scratch

  • IE not detecting jquery change method for checkbox

    - by user271619
    The code below works in FF, Safari, Chrome. But IE is giving me issues. When a checkbox is checked, I cannot get IE to detect it. $("#checkbox_ID").change(function(){ if($('#'+$(this).attr("id")).is(':checked')){ var value = "1"; }else{ var value = "0"; } alert(value); return false; }); Simply, I'm not getting that alert popup, as expected. I've even tried it this way: $("#checkbox_ID").change(function(){ if( $('#'+$(this).attr("id")'+:checked').attr('checked',false)){ var value = "1"; }else{ var value = "0"; } alert(value); return false; }); Here's the simple checkbox input: Anyone know if IE requires a different jquery method? or is my code just off?

  • Tracking finger move in order to rotate a triangle : tracking is not perfect

    - by Laurent BERNABE
    I've written a custom view, with the OpenGL_1 technology, in order to let user rotate a red triangle just by dragging it along x axis. (Will give a rotation around Y axis). It works, but there is a bit of latency when dragging from one direction to the other (without releasing the mouse/finger). So it seems that my code is not yet "goal perfect". (I am convinced that no code is perfect in itself). I thought of using a quaternion, but maybe it won't be so usefull : must I really use a Quaternion (or a kind of Matrix) ? I've designed application for Android 4.0.3, but it could fit into Android api 3 (Android 1.5) as well (at least, I think it could). So here is my main layout : activity_main.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:orientation="vertical" > <com.laurent_bernabe.android.triangletournant3d.MyOpenGLView android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" /> </LinearLayout> Here is my main activity : MainActivity.java package com.laurent_bernabe.android.triangletournant3d; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.support.v4.app.NavUtils; import android.view.Menu; import android.view.MenuItem; public class MainActivity extends Activity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_main); } @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.activity_main, menu); return true; } @Override public boolean onOptionsItemSelected(MenuItem item) { switch (item.getItemId()) { case android.R.id.home: NavUtils.navigateUpFromSameTask(this); return true; } return super.onOptionsItemSelected(item); } } And finally, my OpenGL view MyOpenGLView.java package com.laurent_bernabe.android.triangletournant3d; import java.nio.ByteBuffer; import java.nio.ByteOrder; import java.nio.FloatBuffer; import javax.microedition.khronos.egl.EGLConfig; import javax.microedition.khronos.opengles.GL10; import android.content.Context; import android.graphics.Point; import android.opengl.GLSurfaceView; import android.opengl.GLSurfaceView.Renderer; import android.opengl.GLU; import android.util.AttributeSet; import android.view.MotionEvent; public class MyOpenGLView extends GLSurfaceView implements Renderer { public MyOpenGLView(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); setRenderer(this); } public MyOpenGLView(Context context) { this(context, null); } @Override public boolean onTouchEvent(MotionEvent event) { int actionMasked = event.getActionMasked(); switch(actionMasked){ case MotionEvent.ACTION_DOWN: savedClickLocation = new Point((int) event.getX(), (int) event.getY()); break; case MotionEvent.ACTION_UP: savedClickLocation = null; break; case MotionEvent.ACTION_MOVE: Point newClickLocation = new Point((int) event.getX(), (int) event.getY()); int dx = newClickLocation.x - savedClickLocation.x; angle += Math.toRadians(dx); break; } return true; } @Override public void onDrawFrame(GL10 gl) { gl.glClear(GL10.GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT | GL10.GL_DEPTH_BUFFER_BIT); gl.glLoadIdentity(); GLU.gluLookAt(gl, 0f, 0f, 5f, 0f, 0f, 0f, 0f, 1f, 0f ); gl.glRotatef(angle, 0f, 1f, 0f); gl.glColor4f(1f, 0f, 0f, 0f); gl.glVertexPointer(2, GL10.GL_FLOAT, 0, triangleCoordsBuff); gl.glDrawArrays(GL10.GL_TRIANGLES, 0, 3); } @Override public void onSurfaceChanged(GL10 gl, int width, int height) { gl.glViewport(0, 0, width, height); gl.glMatrixMode(GL10.GL_PROJECTION); gl.glLoadIdentity(); GLU.gluPerspective(gl, 60f, (float) width / height, 0.1f, 10f); gl.glMatrixMode(GL10.GL_MODELVIEW); } @Override public void onSurfaceCreated(GL10 gl, EGLConfig config) { gl.glEnable(GL10.GL_DEPTH_TEST); gl.glClearDepthf(1.0f); gl.glEnableClientState(GL10.GL_VERTEX_ARRAY); buildTriangleCoordsBuffer(); } private void buildTriangleCoordsBuffer() { ByteBuffer buffer = ByteBuffer.allocateDirect(4*triangleCoords.length); buffer.order(ByteOrder.nativeOrder()); triangleCoordsBuff = buffer.asFloatBuffer(); triangleCoordsBuff.put(triangleCoords); triangleCoordsBuff.rewind(); } private float [] triangleCoords = {-1f, -1f, +1f, -1f, +1f, +1f}; private FloatBuffer triangleCoordsBuff; private float angle = 0f; private Point savedClickLocation; } I don't think I really have to give you my manifest file. But I can if you think it is necessary. I've just tested on Emulator, not on real device. So, how can improve the reactivity ? Thanks in advance.

  • echoing javascript when an ajax funtion is called

    - by Roland
    I'm doing a ajax call via the normal jquery ajax funtion My ajax looks as follows jQuery('#yt10').live('click',function(){jQuery.ajax({'data':{'set':$("#booking_set_id1").val(),'setStat':$("#booking_stockStatus").val(),'setNum':$("#booking_setNum").val()},'beforeSend':function(){ if($("#booking_set_id1").val() == "" || $("#booking_stockStatus").val() == "" || $("#booking_setNum").val() == ""){ $("#error").addClass("flash-error"); $("#error").html("Please fill in all relevant set details before adding a set"); return false; } },'dataType':'html','success':function(data,status){ $("#mainrow").show(); $("#error").removeClass("flash-error"); $("#error").html(""); $("#setTable tr:last").after(data); $("#booking_set_id1").val(""); $("#booking_stockStatus").val(""); $("#booking_setNum").val(""); },'url':'/booking/newSet','cache':false});return false;}); Now the function newSet needs to echo javascript to the bowser but somehow jquery filters the javscript out. Is it possible to echo javascript via ajax

  • non-class rvalues always have cv-unqualified types

    - by FredOverflow
    §3.10 section 9 says "non-class rvalues always have cv-unqualified types". That made me wonder... int foo() { return 5; } const int bar() { return 5; } void pass_int(int&& i) { std::cout << "rvalue\n"; } void pass_int(const int&& i) { std::cout << "const rvalue\n"; } int main() { pass_int(foo()); // prints "rvalue" pass_int(bar()); // prints "const rvalue" } According to the standard, there is no such thing as a const rvalue for non-class types, yet bar() prefers to bind to const int&&. Is this a compiler bug? EDIT: Apparently, this is also a const rvalue :)

  • Jquery click() not behaving like user click

    - by rpiontek
    I have searched for a solution to this for the last several hours but to no avail. When I click on a button that has a return false in OnClientClick, no postback occurs to the server. When I use jquery to trigger the click function of the button, OnClientClick fires first, but regardless of the return value, a postback occurs. Here's a simple sample... So, in this example, when Button1 is clicked normally, no postback occurs. When Button2 is clicked, a postback always occurs. Is this a bug or intended behavior?

  • Racket list in struct

    - by Tim
    I just started programming with Racket and now I have the following problem. I have a struct with a list and I have to add up all prices in the list. (define-struct item (name category price)) (define some-items (list (make-item "Book1" 'Book 40.97) (make-item "Book2" 'Book 5.99) (make-item "Book3" 'Book 20.60) (make-item "Item" 'KitchenAccessory 2669.90))) I know that I can return the price with: (item-price (first some-items)) or (item-price (car some-items)). The problem is, that I dont know how I can add up all Items prices with this. Answer to Óscar López: May i filled the blanks not correctly, but Racket mark the code black when I press start and don't return anything. (define (add-prices items) (if (null? items) (+ 0 items) ; Here I don't really know what to write for a 0. ; I tried differnt thnigs like null and this version. (+ (item-price (first some-items)) (add-prices (item-price (rest some-items))))))

  • mybase.showdialog event fired without apparent reason

    - by António Mendes
    Hi, i'm new to vb .net and oop although i have learned the basics. I'm working in VB and .NET CF 3.5 and i'm trying to pass and received a value with showdialog. The issue here is when i'm done with a procedure in Load, for some reason MyBase.Showdialog (line 3) gives an error of "NullReferenceException was unhandled", but the same procedure doesn't have anything to do with Showdialog. Also, this same error happens with me in other forms when i use AlphaImageButton from AlphaMobileControls. I even created an custom AlphaImageButton with a DialogResult Property and set it to None with no avail. Public Overloads Function ShowDialog(ByRef sArg As String) As String sParam = Split(sArg, vbTab) sArtigo = sParam(0) If MyBase.ShowDialog() = Windows.Forms.DialogResult.OK Then Return lblQuant.Text End If Return Nothing End Function

  • Confused about this factory, as it doesn't look like an Abstract Factory nor Factory Method

    - by Pin
    I'm looking into Guice and I've been reading its documentation recently. Reading the motivation section I don't understand the factories part, why they name it that way. To me that factory is just a wrapper for the implementing class they want it to return after calling getInstance(). public class CreditCardProcessorFactory { private static CreditCardProcessor instance; public static void setInstance(CreditCardProcessor creditCardProcessor) { instance = creditCardProcessor; } public static CreditCardProcessor getInstance() { if (instance == null) { throw new IllegalStateException("CreditCardProcessorFactory not initialized. " + "Did you forget to call CreditCardProcessor.setInstance() ?"); } return instance; } } Why do they call it factory as well if it is neither an abstract factory nor a factory method? Or am I missing something? Thanks.

  • JSF : able to do mass update but unable to update a single row in a datatable

    - by nash
    I have a simple data object: Car. I am showing the properties of Car objects in a JSF datatable. If i display the properties using inputText tags, i am able to get the modified values in the managed bean. However i just want a single row editable. So have placed a edit button in a separate column and inputText and outputText for every property of Car. the edit button just toggles the rendering of inputText and outputText. Plus i placed a update button in a separate column which is used to save the updated values. However on clicking the update button, i still get the old values instead of the modified values. Here is the complete code: public class Car { int id; String brand; String color; public Car(int id, String brand, String color) { this.id = id; this.brand = brand; this.color = color; } //getters and setters of id, brand, color } Here is the managed bean: import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.List; import javax.faces.bean.ManagedBean; import javax.faces.bean.RequestScoped; import javax.faces.component.UIData; @ManagedBean(name = "CarTree") @RequestScoped public class CarTree { int editableRowId; List<Car> carList; private UIData myTable; public CarTree() { carList = new ArrayList<Car>(); carList.add(new Car(1, "jaguar", "grey")); carList.add(new Car(2, "ferari", "red")); carList.add(new Car(3, "camri", "steel")); } public String update() { System.out.println("updating..."); //below statments print old values, was expecting modified values System.out.println("new car brand is:" + ((Car) myTable.getRowData()).brand); System.out.println("new car color is:" + ((Car) myTable.getRowData()).color); //how to get modified row values in this method?? return null; } public int getEditableRowId() { return editableRowId; } public void setEditableRowId(int editableRowId) { this.editableRowId = editableRowId; } public UIData getMyTable() { return myTable; } public void setMyTable(UIData myTable) { this.myTable = myTable; } public List<Car> getCars() { return carList; } public void setCars(List<Car> carList) { this.carList = carList; } } here is the JSF 2 page: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"> <h:head> <title>Facelet Title</title> </h:head> <h:body> <h:form id="carForm" prependId="false"> <h:dataTable id="dt" binding="#{CarTree.myTable}" value="#{CarTree.cars}" var="car" > <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{car.id}" /> </h:column> <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{car.brand}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId != car.id}"/> <h:inputText value="#{car.brand}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId == car.id}"/> </h:column> <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{car.color}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId != car.id}"/> <h:inputText value="#{car.color}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId == car.id}"/> </h:column> <h:column> <h:commandButton value="edit"> <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{CarTree.editableRowId}" value="#{car.id}" /> </h:commandButton> </h:column> <h:column> <h:commandButton value="update" action="#{CarTree.update}"/> </h:column> </h:dataTable> </h:form> </h:body> </html> However if i just keep the inputText tags and remove the rendered attributes, i get the modified values in the update method. How can i get the modified values for the single row edit?

  • SharePoint User Profile Search

    - by lucasstark
    Is there a way to search profiles in MOSS from the object model? I need to search for profiles that have a certain value set on their profile and then perform some action for them. I need to write some c# code that can search the profiles database and return the matching profiles. Basically, List of Profiles = Select Profiles From Profile Store Where Profile Property Value = SomeValue I'm trying to avoid the following: private IEnumerable<UserProfile> SearchProfiles(string value) { ServerContext serverContext = ServerContext.GetContext(SPContext.Current.Site); UserProfileManager profileManager = new UserProfileManager(serverContext); foreach (UserProfile profile in profileManager) { if ((string)profile["MyProp"].Value == value) { yield return profile; } } }

  • Problem with copying local data onto HDFS on a Hadoop cluster using Amazon EC2/ S3.

    - by Deepak Konidena
    Hi, I have setup a Hadoop cluster containing 5 nodes on Amazon EC2. Now, when i login into the Master node and submit the following command bin/hadoop jar <program>.jar <arg1> <arg2> <path/to/input/file/on/S3> It throws the following errors (not at the same time.) The first error is thrown when i don't replace the slashes with '%2F' and the second is thrown when i replace them with '%2F': 1) Java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid hostname in URI S3://<ID>:<SECRETKEY>@<BUCKET>/<path-to-inputfile> 2) org.apache.hadoop.fs.S3.S3Exception: org.jets3t.service.S3ServiceException: S3 PUT failed for '/' XML Error Message: The request signature we calculated does not match the signature you provided. check your key and signing method. Note: 1)when i submitted jps to see what tasks were running on the Master, it just showed 1116 NameNode 1699 Jps 1180 JobTracker leaving DataNode and TaskTracker. 2)My Secret key contains two '/' (forward slashes). And i replace them with '%2F' in the S3 URI. PS: The program runs fine on EC2 when run on a single node. Its only when i launch a cluster, i run into issues related to copying data to/from S3 from/to HDFS. And, what does distcp do? Do i need to distribute the data even after i copy the data from S3 to HDFS?(I thought, HDFS took care of that internally) IF you could direct me to a link that explains running Map/reduce programs on a hadoop cluster using Amazon EC2/S3. That would be great. Regards, Deepak.

  • Apache Tomcat under Windows: Changing webapps default directory

    - by Maerch
    I am deploying my Java application with Ant. Unfortunately my test deployment on the local machine doesn't work because of Vista. The Program Files directionaries are protected and i don't want to start Ant or Eclipse as an Admin. So i had the idea to move my webapps folder to a workspace subfolder, so i can use relative paths in Ant as well. The solutions seems to be to modify the Host element in the server.xml. With Linux it isn't such a deal: <Host name="localhost" appBase="/path/to/webapps" unpackWARs="true" autoDeploy="true" xmlValidation="false" xmlNamespaceAware="false"> But with Windows i don't get it right. I tried every possible combinations i could imagine, like: C://Users//maerch//Workspaces//Tomcat6.0_webapps C:/Users/maerch/Workspaces/Tomcat6.0_webapps C:\Users\maerch\Workspaces\Tomcat6.0_webapps C:\\Users\\maerch\\Workspaces\\Tomcat6.0_webapps C://Users//maerch//Workspaces//Tomcat6.0_webapps\\ C:/Users/maerch/Workspaces/Tomcat6.0_webapps/ C:\Users\maerch\Workspaces\Tomcat6.0_webapps\ C:\\Users\\maerch\\Workspaces\\Tomcat6.0_webapps\\ The path is also correct, but it doesn't work. There are also no error messages in the log files neither the browser shows a 404 message or anything else. Just a white page without title and so on. Can anyone help?

  • Can't change pivot table's Access data source - bug in Excel 2000 SP3?

    - by Ron West
    I have a set of Excel 2000 SP3 worksheets that have Pivot Tables that get data from an Access 2000 SP3 database created by a contractor who left our company. Unfortunately, he did all his work on his private area on the company (Novell) network and now that he has left us, the drive spec has been deleted and is invalid. We were able to get the database files restored to our network area by our IT Service Desk people, but we now have to re-link everything to point to our group area instead of the now-nonexistent private area. If I follow the advice given elsewhere on this site (open wizard, click 'Back' to get to 'Step 2 of 3', click 'Get Data...' I get a message that the old filespec is an invalid path and I need to check that the path name is invalid and that I am connected to the server on which the file resides. I then click on OK and get a Login dialog with a 'Database...' button on the right. I click this and get a 'Select Database' dialog which allows me to choose the appropriate database in its correct new location. I then click OK, which takes me back to the 'Login' screen. I can confirm that it has accepted my new location by clicking on 'Database...' as before and the NEW location is still shown. So far so good - but if I then click on OK I get two unhelpful messages - first I get one saying that Excel 'Could not use '|'; file already in use.' - although no other files are in use. Clicking on OK takes me back to the 'Login' dialog. Clicking OK again gives me the same message as before telling me that the OLD filespec is invalid (as if I hadn't changed anything) - but clicking on the 'Database...' button shows that the correct (NEW) database location is still selected. Can anyone tell me a way of using VBA to change the link information without having to spend hours fighting the PivotTable Wizard - preferably similar to this way you update an Access Tabledef:- db.TableDefs(strLinkName).Connect = strNewLink db.TableDefs(strLinkName).RefreshLink Thanks!

  • Display action-specific authorisation message for [Authorize] attribute

    - by FreshCode
    Is there a way to display an action-specific authorisation message for when an [Authorize] or [Authorize(Roles="Administrator")] attribute redirects the user to the sign-in page? Ideally, [Authorize(Roles="Administrator", Message="I'm sorry Dave. I'm afraid I can't let you do that.")] public ActionResult SomeAdminFunction() { // do admin stuff return View(); } As I understand it, attributes are not meant to add functionality, but this seems purely informational. One could do this inside the action, but it seems inelegant compared to the use of an attribute. Alternatively, if (!Request.IsAuthenticated) { if (!User.IsInRole("Administrator")) SetMessage("You need to be an administrator to destroy worlds."); // write message to session stack return RedirectToAction("SignIn", "Account"); } Is there an existing way to do this or do I need to override the [Authorize] attribute?

  • Why / When / How is this Android serviceBinder resetting to null?

    - by GaZ
    I've written a ListActivity for Android 2.1 which is used to display a list of event categories. As the user selects a category, the program calls a web service to retrieve a list of sub-events. For example, a top level event might be "soccer" and when the user selects this the web service would return various soccer associations (e.g. "english", "french", "german", etc.) and display them in a new list. The following code seems to work occasionally, however sometimes the call to the service (in EventsListTask) fails because the serviceBinder is null. How/Why does this happen? public class EventListsActivity extends ListActivity { private static final String EVENT_ID = "EventId"; private List<ListItem> eventList; private ArrayAdapter<ListItem> listItemArrayAdapter; private static final int LOADING_DIALOG = 1; private EventsListTask eventsListTask = null; private BFService serviceBinder; private ServiceConnection mConnection = new ServiceConnection() { public void onServiceConnected(ComponentName componentName, IBinder iBinder) { Log.i("EventListsActivity", "service connected"); serviceBinder = ((BFService.BFBinder)iBinder).getService(); } public void onServiceDisconnected(ComponentName componentName) { Log.i("EventListsActivity", "service disconnected"); serviceBinder = null; } }; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { Log.i("EventListsActivity", "onCreate"); super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.list); eventList = new ArrayList<ListItem>(); listItemArrayAdapter = new ArrayAdapter<ListItem>(this, R.layout.row, eventList); setListAdapter(listItemArrayAdapter); Intent bindIntent = new Intent(this, BFService.class); bindService(bindIntent, mConnection, Context.BIND_AUTO_CREATE); int eventId = getIntent().getIntExtra(EVENT_ID, -1); if (eventsListTask == null || eventsListTask.getStatus() == AsyncTask.Status.FINISHED) { eventsListTask = new EventsListTask(); eventsListTask.execute(eventId); } } @Override protected void onDestroy() { Log.i("EventListsActivity", "destroyed"); super.onDestroy(); unbindService(mConnection); } @Override protected void onListItemClick(ListView listView, View view, int position, long id) { super.onListItemClick(listView, view, position, id); ListItem selectedItem = (ListItem) listView.getAdapter().getItem(position); Intent intent; if (selectedItem.getMarketType() != null) { intent = new Intent(this, MarketActivity.class); intent.putExtra(EVENT_ID, selectedItem.getId()); startActivityIfNeeded(intent, -1); } else if (selectedItem.getId() != -1) { intent = new Intent(this, EventListsActivity.class); intent.putExtra(EVENT_ID, selectedItem.getId()); startActivityIfNeeded(intent, -1); } else { Log.e("EventListsActivity", "unexpected item selected!"); } } @Override protected Dialog onCreateDialog(int id) { switch (id) { case (LOADING_DIALOG) : AlertDialog.Builder loadingDialog = new AlertDialog.Builder(this); loadingDialog.setTitle("Please Wait..."); loadingDialog.setMessage("Communicating with remote service."); return loadingDialog.create(); } return null; } private class EventsListTask extends AsyncTask<Integer, Void, LoginStatusEnum> { @Override protected void onPreExecute() { showDialog(LOADING_DIALOG); } @Override protected void onPostExecute(LoginStatusEnum loginStatusEnum) { dismissDialog(LOADING_DIALOG); if (loginStatusEnum != null) { switch (loginStatusEnum) { case OK: for (ListItem item : eventList) { listItemArrayAdapter.add(item); } listItemArrayAdapter.notifyDataSetChanged(); break; } } } @Override protected LoginStatusEnum doInBackground(Integer... params) { LoginStatusEnum result = LoginStatusEnum.OK; Integer eventId = params[0]; if (serviceBinder != null) { try { if (eventId == null || eventId == -1) { eventList = serviceBinder.getActiveEventTypes(); } else { eventList = serviceBinder.getEvents(eventId); } } catch (WebServiceException wse) { result = LoginStatusEnum.valueOf(wse.getMessage()); } } else { Log.e("EventListsActivity", "serviceBinder is null!"); } return result; } } } EDIT: The serviceBinder appears to be set to null when I reach the bottom of a list, when I change the target intent to go to a different activity: intent = new Intent(this, MarketActivity.class); intent.putExtra(EVENT_ID, selectedItem.getId()); startActivity(intent); This new activity also uses the same background service (binds in the same way, etc.). Is there anything I need to watch out for when doing this? Am I calling the target intent incorrectly? EDIT2: Here's the output from LogCat when I start the activity which calls the service (this time the service failed straight away!): 04-02 07:02:49.147: INFO/ActivityManager(61): Starting activity: Intent { cmp=net.foobar.activity/.EventListsActivity } 04-02 07:02:49.257: INFO/EventListsActivity(353): onCreate 04-02 07:02:49.426: INFO/EventListsActivity(353): service connected 04-02 07:02:49.437: ERROR/EventListsActivity(353): serviceBinder is null!
