  • Any way to map WebDAV with SSL as network drive in Windows XP?

    - by Shadow
    I'm trying to map WebDAV with SSL as a network drive in Windows XP. (I've been at this for several hours) I can read the share just fine using a browser and with Network Places, but it refuses to mount as a network drive. I've tried it using the Windows explorer interface and net use. Net use with the \\server@ssl:443\webdav method gives System error 53. https://server/webdav gives error 67. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Why is phpseclib producing incompatible certs?

    - by chacham15
    Why is it that when I try to use a certificate/key pair generated from phpseclib, the OpenSSL server code errors out? Certs/Keys generated from OpenSSL work fine. How do I fix this? Certificate/Key Generation taken straight from phpseclib documentation: <?php include('File/X509.php'); include('Crypt/RSA.php'); // create private key / x.509 cert for stunnel / website $privKey = new Crypt_RSA(); extract($privKey-createKey()); $privKey-loadKey($privatekey); $pubKey = new Crypt_RSA(); $pubKey-loadKey($publickey); $pubKey-setPublicKey(); $subject = new File_X509(); $subject-setDNProp('id-at-organizationName', 'phpseclib demo cert'); //$subject-removeDNProp('id-at-organizationName'); $subject-setPublicKey($pubKey); $issuer = new File_X509(); $issuer-setPrivateKey($privKey); $issuer-setDN($subject-getDN()); $x509 = new File_X509(); //$x509-setStartDate('-1 month'); // default: now //$x509-setEndDate('+1 year'); // default: +1 year $result = $x509-sign($issuer, $subject); echo "the stunnel.pem contents are as follows:\r\n\r\n"; echo $privKey-getPrivateKey(); echo "\r\n"; echo $x509-saveX509($result); echo "\r\n"; ?   • Bacula optimization/profiling tools

    - by pufferfish
    I'm trying to get an idea of where the bottlenecks are in our backup system. Are there tools available for profiling this? If not, any pointers to a home grown method would also help. I guess most of the info would be in the bacula logs, but I'd also like to see things like what gets saturated during despooling: disk, CPU or network? This feels like a problem most bacula admins would have encountered.

  • Linux bonded Interfaces hanging periodically

    - by David
    I've several hosts that are showing problems with connectivity. When working from the command line, for example, typing is frozen for a second or so, then recovers - then it does it again. The most egregious example host would freeze (input) for 15-30 seconds, then recover and go out 5 seconds later. Switching cables didn't do anything - but removing one of the physical cables caused everything to clear up instantly (which why I think this is a network problem). Looking at the network I couldn't see any packets floating that would explain this. These ethernet interfaces (Gigabit Dell) were working normally previously, but since we moved the systems - and put them on a new set of switches - this has been a problem on multiple theoretically identically-configured hosts. The original switches were an HP Procurve 1810-24G and an HP Procurve 1800-24G connected with LLDP; the new switches are both Cisco SG 200-26, which I understand are rebranded Linksys switches. Is this caused by a problem with the switches? Is it the switch configurations? Are the Cisco switches incapable of handling this? I don't see where the configuration is located; I searched the usual /etc/sysconfig/network/devices but there's nothing in there about options (like mii polling) and nothing about the method of balancing the two. Searching scripts, I can't find anything in /etc/init.d/network either. The hosts are almost all Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x systems (5.6, 5.7) but some are Ubuntu Server 10.04.3 Lucid Lynx. I need help with both if it comes to that. UPDATE: We're also seeing some problems with servers on the original switches. The HP switches and the Cisco switches are also interconnected (temporarily); there is a cable run from one switch to the next. Pings on any of these hosts show about one ICMP packet out of every 5-6 getting dropped (timed out). Could there be an interaction between the two switches? Oh, and the hosts are using bonding with Balance-RR as the method.

  • How to make Linux to re-detect network interfaces?

    - by ablmf
    For some reason, ifcfg-eth* under /etc/sysconfig/network-script were deleted. Is there any tools that could detect network interfaces and re-generate these files? Another question : If I manually added ifcfg-eth0, is there any method to make it work without reboot? I tried "/etc/init.d/networking restart", and it doesn't work.

  • List of LangID KLID input layouts codes for Windows 7/2008

    - by alfa
    There is one similar list for Windows XP/2003 here. Is anybody aware of a version of such list for Windows 2008/7 mentioning valid input locale ID strings for all languages and keyboard layouts? NOTE1: If you are interested to know, I am going to use that ID in the scripts such as this one and the last example in this page NOTE2: In this page, it shows the format of language id as used by the input.dll exported method named SetDefaultLayoutOrTip (Which is probably used by the regarded script engine)

  • Strange problem with Random Access Filing in C++

    This is a simple random access filing program . The problem arises where i want to write data randomly. If I write any where in the file the previous records are set to 0. the last 1 which is being entered currently holds the correct value all others =0. This is the code #include <iostream> #include<fstream> #include<string> using namespace std; class name { int id; int pass; public: void writeBlank(); void writedata(); void readdata(); void readall(); int getid() { return id; } int getpass() { return pass; } void setid(int i) { id=i; } void setpass(int p) { pass=p; } }; void name::writeBlank() { name person; person.setid(0); person.setpass(0); int i; ofstream out("pass.txt",ios::binary); if ( !out ) { cout << "File could not be opened." << endl; } for(i=0;i<10;i++) //make 10 records { cout<<"Put pointer is at: "<<out.tellp()<<endl; cout<<"Blank record "<<i<<" is: "<<person.getid()<<" "<<person.getpass()<<" and size: "<<sizeof(person)<<endl; cout<<"Put pointer is at: "<<out.tellp()<<endl; out.write(reinterpret_cast< const char * >(&person),sizeof(name)); } } void name::writedata() { ofstream out("pass.txt",ios::binary|ios::out); name n1; int iD,p; cout<<"ID?"; cin>>iD; n1.setid(iD); cout<<"Enter password"; cin>>p; n1.setpass(p); if (!out ) { cout << "File could not be opened." << endl; } out.seekp((n1.getid()-1)*sizeof(name),ios::beg); //pointer moves to desired location where we have to store password according to its ID(index) cout<<"File pointer is at: "<<out.tellp()<<endl; out.write(reinterpret_cast<const char*> (&n1), sizeof(name)); //write on that pointed location } void name::readall() { name n1; ifstream in("pass.txt",ios::binary); if ( !in ) { cout << "File could not be opened." << endl; } in.read( reinterpret_cast<char *>(&n1), sizeof(name) ); while ( !in.eof() ) { // display record cout<<endl<<"password at this index is:"<<n1.getpass()<<endl; cout<<"File pointer is at: "<<in.tellg()<<endl; // read next from file in.read( reinterpret_cast< char * >(&n1), sizeof(name)); } // end while } void name::readdata() { ifstream in("pass.txt",ios::binary); if ( !in ) { cout << "File could not be opened." << endl; } in.seekg((getid()-1)*sizeof(name)); //pointer moves to desired location where we have to read password according to its ID(index) cout<<"File pointer is at: "<<in.tellg()<<endl; in.read((char* )this,sizeof(name)); //reads from that pointed location cout<<endl<<"password at this index is:"<<getpass()<<endl; } int main() { name n1; cout<<"Enter 0 to write blank records"<<endl; cout<<"Enter 1 for new account"<<endl; cout<<"Enter 2 to login"<<endl; cout<<"Enter 3 to read all"<<endl; cout<<"Enter 9 to exit"<<endl; int option; cin>>option; while(option==0 || option==1 || option==2 || option==3) { if (option == 0) n1.writeBlank(); if(option==1) { /*int iD,p; cout<<"ID?"; cin>>iD; n1.setid(iD); cout<<"Enter password"; cin>>p; n1.setpass(p);*/ n1.writedata(); } int ind; if(option==2) { cout<<"Index?"; cin>>ind; n1.setid(ind); n1.readdata(); } if(option == 3) n1.readall(); cout<<"Enter 0 to write blank records"<<endl; cout<<"Enter 1 for new account"<<endl; cout<<"Enter 2 to login"<<endl; cout<<"Enter 3 to read all"<<endl; cout<<"Enter 9 to exit"<<endl; cin>>option; } } I Cant understand Y the previous records turn 0.

  • Modem with support for wired 802.1x

    - by menko
    I'm looking at allowing internet access for only a few scattered users on a school network. One method I'm considering is using 802.1x authentication for the modem. Of course there are simpler options like only allowing specific IP or mac addresses, but policy requires something more secure than this. So, are there any modems with 802.1x wired authentication? All my searching on this yields info about wireless.

  • How to re-enable Autoplay for removeable drives on Windows 7

    - by Clay Nichols
    When I plug a USB thumb drive into my Win7 PC, it no longer auto-launches the window giving me options like "Import Photos" or "browse". The drive is recognized but nothing autolaunches. Similarly, CD's don't autoplay either. I verified that Win7 is set to autoplay, per method 1 and 2 of: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/27544-autoplay-enable-disable-autorun.html FYI, there is a similar question (but for Windows XP) here on SU.

  • Twitter RSS feed without retweets

    - by srunni
    Hi, I'm interested in following a Twitter account in my RSS reader. However, I don't want to see any of the retweets posted by the account. Is there some way to filter this out on the server (i.e., Twitter) side, or would I have to do it in my RSS reader? The account is still using the old ("RT @account:") method of retweeting. Thanks!

  • Convert FAT32 to NTFS, risk/time?

    - by Rakward
    After a quick search I found that through a command prompt I can convert a drive from FAT32 to NTFS without losing data(see here). What I want to ask here is, how safe is this method on a 1.5 TB drive with 500 GB of data? What are the chances of this freezing up(or is there really nothin to worry about) and what is the probable time, a couple of minutes or a whole hour? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, just want to play on the safe side here ...

  • Testifying rasing net.core.somaxconn can make a difference

    - by petermolnar
    I got into an argument on the net.core.somaxconn parameter: I was told that it will not make any difference if we change the default 128. I believed this might be enough proof: "If the backlog argument is greater than the value in /proc/sys/net/core/somaxconn, then it is silently truncated to that value" http://linux.die.net/man/2/listen but it's not. Does anyone know a method to testify this with two machines, sitting on a Gbit network? The best would be against MySQL, LVS, apache2 ( 2.2 ), memcached.

  • What are the different ways of remotely connecting to your computer?

    - by Rogue
    I'll be leaving for uni soon and would like to know the different methods of connecting remotely to my home pc. I know about VPN but are there any other ways? Also how secure is each of this method as I wouldn't want snoopers on my home-pc especially when I'm away. Also can i set up a remote connection to start and shut down my computer My operating system is windows, but if linux is more secure i would be willing to switch.

  • Javascript: selfmade methods not working correctly

    - by hdr
    Hi everyone, I tried to figure this out for some days now, I tried to use my own object to sort of replace the global object to reduce problems with other scripts (userscripts, chrome extensions... that kind of stuff). However I can't get things to work for some reason. I tried some debugging with JSLint, the developer tools included in Google Chrome, Firebug and the integrated schript debugger in IE8 but there is no error that explains why it doesn't work at all in any browser I tried. I tried IE 8, Google Chrome 10.0.612.3 dev, Firefox 3.6.13, Safari 5.0.3 and Opera 11. So... here is the code: HTML: <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html manifest="c.manifest"> <head> <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1"> <meta charset="utf-8"> <!--[if IE]> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/chrome-frame/1/CFInstall.min.js"></script> <script src="https://ie7-js.googlecode.com/svn/version/2.1(beta4)/IE9.js">IE7_PNG_SUFFIX=".png";</script> <![endif]--> <!--[if lt IE 9]> <script src="js/lib/excanvas.js"></script> <script src="https://html5shiv.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/html5.js"></script> <![endif]--> <script src="js/data.js"></script> </head> <body> <div id="controls"> <button onclick="MYOBJECTis.next()">Next</button> </div> <div id="textfield"></div> <canvas id="game"></canvas> </body> </html> Javascript: var that = window, it = document, k = Math.floor; var MYOBJECTis = { aresizer: function(){ // This method looks like it doesn't work. // It should automatically resize all the div elements and the body. // JSLint: no error (execpt for "'window' is not defined." which is normal since // JSLint does nor recognize references to the global object like "window" or "self" // even if you assume a browser) // Firebug: no error // Chrome dev tools: no error // IE8: that.documentElement.clientWidth is null or not an object "use strict"; var a = that.innerWidth || that.documentElement.clientWidth, d = that.innerHeight || that.documentElement.clientHeight; (function() { for(var b = 0, c = it.getElementsByTagName("div");b < c.length;b++) { c.style.width = k(c.offsetWidth) / 100 * k(a); c.style.height = k(c.offsetHight) / 100 * k(d); } }()); (function() { var b = it.getElementsByTagName("body"); b.width = a; b.height = d; }()); }, next: function(){ // This method looks like it doesn't work. // It should change the text inside a div element // JSLint: no error (execpt for "'window' is not defined.") // Firebug: no error // Chrome dev tools: no error // IE8: no error (execpt for being painfully slow) "use strict"; var b = it.getElementById("textfield"), a = [], c; switch(c !== typeof Number){ case true: a[1] = ["HI"]; c = 0; break; case false: return Error; default: b.innerHtml = a[c]; c+=1; } } }; // auto events (function(){ "use strict"; that.onresize = MYOBJECTis.aresizer(); }()); If anyone can help me out with this I would very much appreciate it. EDIT: To answer the question what's not working I can just say that no method I showed here is working at all and I don't know the cause of the problem. I also tried to clean up some of the code that has most likely nothing to do with it. Additional information is in the comments inside the code.
