  • SQL aggregation query, grouping by entries in junction table

    - by cm007
    I have TableA in a many-to-many relationship with TableC via TableB. That is, TableA TableB TableC id | val fkeyA | fkeyC id | data I wish the do select sum(val) on TableA, grouping by the relationship(s) to TableC. Every entry in TableA has at least one relationship with TableC. For example, TableA 1 | 25 2 | 30 3 | 50 TableB 1 | 1 1 | 2 2 | 1 2 | 2 2 | 3 3 | 1 3 | 2 should output 75 30 since rows 1 and 3 in Table have the same relationships to TableC, but row 2 in TableA has a different relationship to TableC. How can I write a SQL query for this?

  • Poll database using jQuery/Ajax

    - by Gav
    Hi guys, I am trying to use jQuery (latest version) & ajax to poll a mysql db every x seconds, post.php does a simple search query on the table and limits to 1 row. (eg SELECT id FROM TABLE LIMIT 1) I've got some other jQuery UI (using v1.8) code that displays some modal/dialog boxes on the screen, simply put if post.php returns something from the db I need to initialise the dialog to pop up onto the screen. I've done all the popup stuff I am just having issues joining all these bits together - i've added some pseudo code of how i expect this to work. Thanks in advance var refreshId = setInterval(function(){ $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "post.php", data: "", success: function(html){ $("#responsecontainer").html(html); } }); }, 2000 );s /* proposed pseudocode */ if (ajax is successful & returns a db row to #responsecontainer) { show jQueryUI modal (done this bit already fortunately) }

'"><b>Hello World 01</b></div>'; $('#mon_Events').append(newDiv_1); How do i use variable inside this statement?

  • Caller property of JS for "foo = function()" style of coding

    - by arvind
    I want to use the property of "caller" for a function which is defined here It works fine for this style of function declaration function g() { alert(g.caller.name) // f } function f() { alert(f.caller.name) // undefined g() } f() JSfiddle for this But then my function declaration is something like g = function() { alert(g.caller.name) // expected f, getting undefined } f = function() { alert("calling f") alert(f.caller.name) // undefined g() } f() and I am getting undefined (basically not getting anything) JSfiddle for this Is there any way that I can use the caller property without having to rewrite my code? Also, I hope I have not made any mistakes in usage and function declaration since I am quite new to using JS.

  • JSDoc3: How to document a AMD module that returns a function

    - by Jens Simon
    I'm trying to find a way to document AMD modules using JSDoc3. /** * Module description. * * @module path/to/module */ define(['jquery', 'underscore'], function (jQuery, _) { /** * @param {string} foo Foo-Description * @param {object} bar Bar-Description */ return function (foo, bar) { // insert code here }; }); Sadly none of the patterns listed on http://usejsdoc.org/howto-commonjs-modules.html work for me. How can I generate a proper documentation that lists the parameters and return value of the function exported by the module?

  • How do I stop a bouncy JQuery animation?

    - by Miguel
    In a webapp I'm working on, I want to create some slider divs that will move up and down with mouseover & mouseout (respectively.) I currently have it implemented with JQuery's hover() function, by using animate() and reducing/increasing it's top css value as needed. This works fairly well, actually. The problem is that it tends to get stuck. If you move the mouse over it (especially near the bottom), and quickly remove it, it will slide up & down continuously and won't stop until it's completed 3-5 cycles. To me, it seems that the issue might have to do with one animation starting before another is done (e.g. the two are trying to run, so they slide back and forth.) Okay, now for the code. Here's the basic JQuery that I'm using: $('.slider').hover( /* mouseover */ function(){ $(this).animate({ top : '-=120' }, 300); }, /* mouseout*/ function(){ $(this).animate({ top : '+=120' }, 300); } ); I've also recreated the behavior in a JSFiddle. Any ideas on what's going on? :) ==EDIT== UPDATED JSFiddle

  • Working With Feeds and Lists

    - by Nathan Campos
    I'm using a ListView component to list up some informations at a RSS feed, but when the user clicks the row, I want to change into a detailed view of that RSS Item, so far I've done this: function parseFeed(feed) { var html = ""; for(var i = 0; i < feed.items.length && i < 5; i++) { var item = feed.items[i]; var title = item.title; html += "\n<li onClick='goDetailed()'>\n"; html += "<h3><a href='#' class='ui-link-inherit'>" + title + "</a></h3>\n"; html += "<p>" + item.description + "</p>\n"; html += "</li>"; } $("#dList").append(html); $("#dList").listview('refresh'); } function goDetailed() { $.mobile.changePage($('#detailedPage')); } One of my problems is that the Back button won't come back(it does nothing). My other question is how I can pass the item.title, item.description, item.link and item.updated of the selected row(feed item) to some <div data-role="content">'s at the detail page.

  • Google maps sometimes does not return a geocoded value for string

    - by XGreen
    Hi Guys, I have the following code: It basically looks into a HTML list and geocodes and markets each item. it does it correctly 8 out of ten but sometimes I get an error I set for show in the console. I can't think of anything. Any thoughts is much appreciated. $(function () { var map = null; var geocoder = null; function initialize() { if (GBrowserIsCompatible()) { // Specifies that the element with the ID map is the container for the map map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map")); // Sets an initial map positon (which mainly gets ignored after reading the adderesses list) map.setCenter(new GLatLng(37.4419, -122.1419), 13); // Instatiates the google Geocoder class geocoder = new GClientGeocoder(); map.addControl(new GSmallMapControl()); // Sets map zooming controls on the map map.enableScrollWheelZoom(); // Allows the mouse wheel to control the map while on it } } function showAddress(address, linkHTML) { if (geocoder) { geocoder.getLatLng(address, function (point) { if (!point) { console.log('Geocoder did not return a location for ' + address); } else { map.setCenter(point, 8); var marker = new GMarker(point); map.addOverlay(marker); // Assigns the click event to each marker to open its balloon GEvent.addListener(marker, "click", function () { marker.openInfoWindowHtml(linkHTML); }); } } ); } } // end of show address function initialize(); // This iterates through the text of each address and tells the map // to show its location on the map. An internal error is thrown if // the location is not found. $.each($('.addresses li a'), function () { var addressAnchor = $(this); showAddress(addressAnchor.text(), $(this).parent().html()); }); }); which looks into this HTML: <ul class="addresses"> <li><a href="#">Central London</a></li> <li><a href="#">London WC1</a></li> <li><a href="#">London Shoreditch</a></li> <li><a href="#">London EC1</a></li> <li><a href="#">London EC2</a></li> <li><a href="#">London EC3</a></li> <li><a href="#">London EC4</a></li> </ul>

  • jquery document.ready multiple declaration

    - by Hendry H.
    I realized that I can specify $(document).ready(function(){}); more than once. Suppose like this $(document).ready(function(){ var abc = "1122"; //do something.. }); $(document).ready(function(){ var abc = "def"; //do something.. }); Is this standard ? Those codes work on my FF (16.0.2). I just a little afraid that other browser may not. What actually happen ? How jQuery handle those code ? Thanks.

    - by Andy Holmes
    I've got the code below which works fine, however the jquery to add the items doesnt find the data-parent-room value and just returns undefined. This is the only thing not working :( HTML: <div id="inventoryRooms"> <!--BOX SHART--> <div class="widget box formHolder" data-parent-room="1"> <!--ROOM NAME--> <form class="widget-header rooms"> <input type="text" placeholder="Type Room name" name="roomName[]" class="form-input add-room-input input-width-xxlarge"> <input type="hidden" class="roomId" name="roomId[]"> <input type="hidden" class="inventoryId" name="inventoryId[]" value="<?=$_GET['inventory_id']?>"> <div class="toolbar no-padding"> <div class="btn-group"> <span class="btn saveRoom"><i class="icon-ok"></i> Save Room</span> </div> </div> </form> <!--/END--> <!--GENERIC ROW TITLES--> <div class="widget-header header-margin hide"> <div class="row row-title"> <div class="col-md-3"><h5>ITEM</h5></div> <div class="col-md-3"><h5>DESCRIPTION</h5></div> <div class="col-md-3"><h5>CONDITION</h5></div> <div class="col-md-2"><h5>PHOTOGRAPH</h5></div> <div class="col-md-1 align-center"><h5><i class="icon-cog"> </i></h5></div> </div> </div> <!--/END--> <!--ADD ITEM--> <div class="items"> </div> <!--/END--> <div class="toolbar-small"> <div class="btn-group"> <span class="btn addItem"><i class="icon-plus"></i> Add Item</span> <span data-toggle="dropdown" class="btn dropdown-toggle"><i class="icon-gear"></i> Options<span class="button-space"></span><i class="icon-angle-down"></i></span> <ul class="dropdown-menu pull-right"> <li><a href="#"><i class="icon-trash"></i> Delete Room</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> </div> jQuery: $(document).on('click','.addItem', function(){ $('<!--ROW START-->\ <form class="widget-content item">\ <div class="row">\ <div class="col-md-3"><input type="text" class="form-control" name="itemName[]"></div>\ <div class="col-md-3"><textarea class="auto form-control" name="itemDescription[]" cols="20" rows="1" style="word-wrap: break-word; resize: vertical;"></textarea></div>\ <div class="col-md-3"><textarea class="auto form-control" name="itemCondition[]" cols="20" rows="1" style="word-wrap: break-word; resize: vertical;"></textarea></div>\ <input type="hidden" class="itemId" name="itemId[]" value="">\ <input type="hidden" name="itemInventoryId[]" value="<?=$_GET["inventory_id"]?>">\ <input type="hidden" name="itemParent[]" value="'+$(this).closest().attr('data-parent-room')+'">\ <div class="col-md-2">\ <div class="fileinput-holder input-group">\ <input id="fileupload" type="file" name="files[]" data-url="uploads/">\ </div>\ </div>\ <div class="col-md-1 align-center"><i class="save icon-ok large"> </i>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<i class="delete icon-trash large"> </i></div>\ </div>\ </form>\ <!--/ROW END-->').fadeIn(500).appendTo($(this).parents().siblings('.items')); $(this).parent().parent().siblings('.widget-header, .header-margin, .hide').removeClass('hide').fadeIn(); }); Like i say, it all works fine apart from that damn data-parent-room value.   • Fastest tr:hover method

    - by Alex
    What is the single fastest method for table row hover css change? I've tried jQuery (onmouseover/out) and CSS with tr:hover, but once I make my page fullscreen (1920x1200) the performance on my grid is getting just sluggish enough to give the entire page a feel of being sub-par. That's on a grid with 25 rows, and some spans and divs per row. I've tried IE and Google Chrome. Is there another, faster method? What is generally considered the fastest method across browsers for doing hover CSS changes?

  • KnockoutJS - creating object doesn't work

    - by Kiwanax
    I'm doing a navigation list with menus and submenus. I have the following structure: function Menu(navigation) { this.NavigationUrl = ko.observable(navigation.NavigationUrl); this.NavigationTitle = ko.observable(navigation.NavigationTitle); this.NavigationDescription = ko.observable(navigation.NavigationDescription); var mappedChildren = ko.utils.arrayMap(navigation.Children, function (child) { return new Menu(child); }); this.Children = ko.observableArray(mappedChildren); } function DashboardViewModel() { var self = this; self.LoggedUser = ko.observable(""); self.Navigations = ko.observableArray([]); $.get('/Home/DashboardDependencies', {}, function (result) { self.LoggedUser(result.LoggedUser); var mappedNavigations = ko.utils.arrayMap(result.Navigations, function (item) { var menu = new Menu(item); // When I alert item, the result appears properly: // { "NavigationTitle": "blah", "NavigationDescription": "bleh" [...] } alert(JSON.stringify(item)); // But when I alert the new menu object, the result doesn't appear: // Just: "{}" alert(JSON.stringify(menu)); return menu; }); self.Navigations = mappedNavigations; }); } ko.applyBindings(new DashboardViewModel()); So, check it out. When I try to alert the item variable, the result appears properly. When I try to alert the new Menu object, the result just show {}. Why this' happening? Thank you all for the help!
