Has the requirement to deploy the .NET framework with a .NET application caused programmers to go back to languages such as C++ where more standalone applications can be created?
This is my first experience with ejabberd. Spare me if I miss anything.
I have installed ejabberd server on ubuntu 12.04 AMI on Amazon EC2.
I have successfully installed the server, added the admin user and host in the config file and opened up reqd ports (5222, 5223, 5269, 5280).
Now I tried to login the web admin interface using the admin user id and password. I could log in, BUT I could only see one section, Virtual Hosts. No Control Lists, Access rules, Nodes and Statistics Menu items on the left.
Also, when I click Virtual Hosts Menu item, the page that comes up does not show anything.
Here are the screenshots
We have one static IP on which we have routed our company website. We have setup a local machine on windows with WAMP to run our testing server.
We want virtual hosts to test our different apps. However, when creating subdomains, we have a new project which uses wildcard subdomains. How can we create the wildcard subdomains in VirtualHosts.
We use,
NameVirtualHost *
<VirtualHost *>
ServerAdmin admin@test
DocumentRoot "E:/Wamp/www/corporate"
ServerName companysite.com
</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost *>
ServerAdmin admin@test
DocumentRoot "E:/Wamp/www/project"
ServerName project.companysite.com
</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost *>
ServerAdmin admin@test
DocumentRoot "E:/Wamp/www/project"
ServerName *.project.companysite.com
</VirtualHost>
However, the last * wildcard does not work. Any help?
My system is an HP netbook running Ubuntu 10 netbook edition from a USB drive. I created an admin account and user account, and left in place the 'ubuntu' account.
My netbook came with Windows 7 factory loaded and I did some work in Windows before setting up Linux. I copied my work into the HP Tools FAT32 partition that also came Factory Loaded, and was only 20% full.
Only the 'ubuntu' account shows the HP Tools partition. So I would like to either view the partition from the 'admin' or 'user' accounts, or copy files from the partition-to a folder accessible from admin or user.
I have already tried right clicking the folder, selecting share, and installing the share package, but I got a string of errors and would prefer a short term, one time solution that does not involve installing the share package. All I need is a few plain text Windows files i was working on.
My solution uses a proprietary assembly, which when debugging the solution throws an Exception saying it can't find an assembly that is meant to be one of the projects in my solution.
I cannot add a reference to the proprietary assembly because all I have is the DLL.
When I compile everything into a single application directory and run the app it works fine, but I want to debug.
Where should assemblies be placed if you want a proprietary assembly in the solution to see them?
I assume the issue is that there is no path specified and it is just looking in a default directory of some kind.
I don't know why I'm experiencing so much trouble with this, but I would like to have an array that basically represents a layer number and x,y coordinates so I could essentially say,
int i = array[layer,x,y] and get the corrisponding value per layer. I create the array..
int[,,] myarray
...initialize it
myarray = new int[0,width, height];
...and it blows up when try and grab a value.
int n = myarray[0,1,1]
What am I missing?
I’m using a TreeView control to present a list of Questions. Using the Prism.DataTemplateSelector, I'm loading a View (.xaml file) that represents a single Question into each node in the TreeView. In the View for that question is a ListBox containing RadioButtons (one for each item in a Picklist object that the ListBox is bound to).
The radio buttons work as expected for the question, but when I check a RadioButton on another node/question in the TreeView, the check for the button in the Question I was editing before disappears. In other words, I'm only able to check one RadioButton in the whole list of Questions/Items bound to the containing TreeView. How do I group the RadioButtons in the ListBox to the scope of the single question instead of all the questions in the TreeView.
How can you speed up the display of WinForms in C#?
I am finding that forms are being painted quite slowly, even if the window is being 'reactivated' (ie. switched to) after having been already loaded.
Other languages seem to be render forms a lot quicker.
Is there a way to speed things up? Using C# in VS2005.
What is the preferred method of refreshing a combo box when the data changes?
If a form is open and the combo box data is already loaded, how do you refresh the contents of the combo box without the form having to be closed and reloaded?
Do you have to do something on the Click event on the combo box? This would seem to be a potential slow down for the app if there is a hit to the database every time someone clicks on a combo box.
I have a page that has a couple of jqGrids on it, along with a few other fields. I want to make one AJAX call myself that pulls back a JSON object that has the data that should be used to fill the entire page.
So, I would like to make the call myself, populate the "other fields" and then pull a couple of collections off of the main JSON object that was returned and populate each of the jqGrids with those collections "manually".
I have this much working, but I can't get jqGrid to stop attempting to make an AJAX request itself. Shouldn't there be a way to tell jqGrid to NOT attempt an AJAX call when it is initialized?
I found a similar question asked here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1850159/how-to-suppress-jqgrid-from-initially-loading-data
But I don't have the option that solved it for the poster.
It seems pretty logical to me that some people may want to use this plugin without having the table attempt to get its own data upon initialization. Am I missing an option somewhere in the documentation (wiki - options)?
Thanks.
Is it possible to monitor what is happening to an Access MDB (ie. what SQL queries are being executed against it), in the same way as you would use SQL Profiler for the SQL Server?
I need logs of actual queries being called.
Hi all,
I am running Win7 in a Parallels Desktop 6 on Mac.
I would like to modify my Windows hosts file.
When doing this through notepad it says "You don't have permission to save in this location..."
I am logged on as a regular windows user - not as 'local admin'.
How can I edit the file?
How can I grant my regular user 'local admin' rights?
How can change the Windows user to 'admin' ... this option seems to be missing in my windows install...
Does anybody recognize the issue?
Thank you!
J.
I have a Mac Mini with Mac OS X Lion.
Basically I am a developer and practiced coding with DVORAK keyboards. So I changed my keyboard layout to DVORAK and I'm working with it. I'm using the admin user on my Mac Mini.
When I restart my computer, during login, the layout is changed to QWERTY and it's hard to type the password. It happens only for the admin user though. If I create the another user and set the layout as DVORAK and restart, that user has the DVORAK keyboard for login.
Note: I have a QWERTY keyboard, I'm only changing the layout in the keyboard preferences.
So, to summarize, how can I get the DVORAK keyboard layout for the admin login as well?
What error handling should be used in VB.NET?
Should you use the "On Error Goto ErrorHandler ... Exit Sub ErrHandler ... End Sub" pattern or should you use the "try { ... } catch { ... } finally { ...}" pattern?
In a basic HTML web page, how do you make the user have to enter a username and password before they are allowed to download a file.
What is the best way of achieving this on a website, preferably in plain HTML.
Is it possible to register a .NET component during the installation of a VB6 app?
Is it also possible to grant security (eg. via CAPSOL) as part of an installation package?
I had a WinXP installation on my hard drive. Then I bought a 2nd drive and installed Win7. Dual boot working fine. But when I'm in the Win7 environment, it appears that I don't have full admin permission on the "D" drive (that's the drive with WinXP). Even though the user I'm logged in as has admin permissions, I have to run my apps with administrator privileges in order to get write access to the D drive. This is not the case when I do stuff on the C drive.
I could just get into running those apps that access the D drive in admin mode, but that seems like overkill. Is there some secret switch I can flip so that my D drive acts like my C drive, security-wise?
What does Error 3112 indicate when compacting an MDB file?
The Error description is "Records can't be read; no read permission on 'xyz123.mdb'"
There is a known issue with the Compact function on some versions of Access MDBs. Is the solution in this case to run the Microsoft utility JETCOMP.EXE on this file?
What are the other possible causes of this error?
