I have the "relative time in words" portion from another library. How do I render the title portion?   • Internet Explorer buggy when accessing a custom weblogic provider

    I've created a custom Weblogic Security Authentication Provider on version 10.3 that includes a custom login module to validate users. As part of the provider, I've implemented the ServletAuthenticationFilter and added one filter. The filter acts as a common log on page for all the applications within the domain. When we access any secured URLs by entering them in the address bar, this works fine in IE and Firefox. But when we bookmark the link in IE an odd thing happens. If I click the bookmark, you will see our log on page, then after you've successfully logged into the system the basic auth page will display, even though the user is already authenticated. This never happens in Firefox, only IE. It's also intermittent. 1 time out of 5 IE will correctly redirect and not show the basic auth window. Firefox and Opera will correctly redirect everytime. We've captured the response headers and compared the success and failures, they are identical. final boolean isAuthenticated = authenticateUser(userName, password, req); // Send user on to the original URL if (isAuthenticated) { res.sendRedirect(targetURL); return; } As you can see, once the user is authenticated I do a redirect to the original URL. Is there a step I'm missing? I wish that not using Internet Explorer was an option but it is currently the company standard. Any help or direction would be appreciated. I have tested against IE 6 & 8 and deployed the custom provider on 3 different environments and I can still reproduce the bug.

  • Python, Unicode, and the Windows console

    When I try to print a Unicode string in a windows console, I get a "UnicodeEncodeError: 'charmap' codec can't encode character ...." error. I assume this is because the Windows console does not accept Unicode-only characters. What's the best way around this? Is there any way I can make Python automatically print a "?" instead of failing in this situation? Edit: I'm using Python 2.5.

  • C# class design - expose variables for reading but not setting

    I have a a polygon class which stores a list of Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Vector2 as the vertices of the polygon. Once the polygon is created, I'd like other classes to be able to read the position of the vertices, but not change them. I am currently exposing the vertices through this field: /// <summary> /// Gets the vertices stored for this polygon. /// </summary> public List<Vector2> Vertices { get { return _vertices; } } List<Vector2> _vertices; However you can change any vertex using code like: Polygon1.Vertices[0] = new Vector2(0, 0); or Polygon1.Vertices[0].X = 0; How can I limit other classes to be able to only read the properties of these vertices, and not be able to set a new one to my List? The only thing I can think of is to pass a copy to classes that request it. Note that Vector2 is a struct that is part of the XNA framework and I cannot change it. Thanks.

    When I select ignore on a files under version control it marks the parent directory as changes, then when I then do a commit, it checks in svn:ignore property to the repository, resulting in another revision. Why do I need to commit the svn:ignore property? Is this a TortoiseSVN issue or just the way SVN works?

  • Problem determining how to order F# types due to circular references

    I have some types that extend a common type, and these are my models. I then have DAO types for each model type for CRUD operations. I now have a need for a function that will allow me to find an id given any model type, so I created a new type for some miscellaneous functions. The problem is that I don't know how to order these types. Currently I have models before dao, but I somehow need DAOMisc before CityDAO and CityDAO before DAOMisc, which isn't possible. The simple approach would be to put this function in each DAO, referring to just the types that can come before it, so, State comes before City as State has a foreign key relationship with City, so the miscellaneous function would be very short. But, this just strikes me as wrong, so I am not certain how to best approach this. So, City needs the id for the state name, so I would get the state name, put it into the state type, then call this function to get the id for that state, so my city insert will also include the id for the foreign key. This seems to be the best approach, in a very generic way to handle inserts, which is the current problem I am trying to solve.

    I just installed Google's Page Speed plugin to Firebug, and everything looks good except for caching. I have set headers to cache my JS and CSS files, but it says the images aren't being cached. How can I make sure the images get cached for 30 days? These are static images, so I can't just add the headers with PHP like I did with the other files.

  • Optimize MySQL query (ngrams, COUNT(), GROUP BY, ORDER BY)

    I have a database with thousands of companies and their locations. I have implemented n-grams to optimize search. I am making one query to retrieve all the companies that match with the search query and another one to get a list with their locations and the number of companies in each location. The query I am trying to optimize is the latter. Maybe the problem is this: Every company ('anunciante') has a field ('estado') to make logical deletes. So, if 'estado' equals 1, the company should be retrieved. When I run the EXPLAIN command, it shows that it goes through almost 40k rows, when the actual result (the reality matching companies) are 80. How can I optimize this?   • asp.net 4.0 webforms - how to keep ContentPlaceHolder1_ out of client id's in a simple way?

    I'm attempting to introduce master pages to an existing webforms site that's avoided using them because of client id mangling in the past (and me not wanting to deal with the mangling and doing <% foo.ClientID % everywhere :) GOAL: use 'static' id values (whatever is in the server control's id attribute) except for data-bound / repeating controls which would break for those cases and therefore need suffixes or whatever to differentiate (basically, Predictable) Now that the site migrated to ASP.NET 4.0, I first attempted to use ClientIDMode of Static (in the web.config) but that broke too many places doing repeating controls (checkboxes inside gridviews, for instance) since they all resulted with the same id. So, I then tried Predictable (again, just in the web.config) so that the repeating controls wouldn't have conflicting id's, and it works well except that the master page content placeholder (which is indeed a naming container) is still reflecting in the resulting client id's (for instance, ContentPlaceHolder1_someCheckbox). Certainly I could leave the web.config setting as static and then go through all the databound/repeating controls switch them to Predictable, but I'm hoping there's some easier/simpler way to get that effect without having to scatter ClientIDMode attributes in those N number of places (or extend all those databound controls with my own usercontrol that just sets clientidmode, or whatever). I even thought of leaving web.config set to static and doing a master or basepage handler (preinit? not sure if that would work or not) that would go walk Controls with OfType<INamingContainer() (might be a better choice on the type, but that seems like a good starting choice looking at repeater and gridview) and then set those to Predictable so I'd get static for all my 'normal' things outside of repeating controls but not have to deal with static inside things like gridview/repeater/etc. I don't see any way to mark the content placeholder such that it 'opts out' of being included in child id's - setting the ID of the placeholder to empty/blank doesn't work as it's a required attribute :) At that point I figured there was a better/simpler way that I was missing and decided to ask on SO :) Edit: I thought about changing all my 'fetch by id' jquery calls from $('#foo') to fetch_by_id('foo') and then having that function return the 'right one' by checking $('#foo').length and then $('#ContentPlaceHolder1_foo').length (and maybe other patterns) or even just have it return $('#foo, #ContentPlaceHolder1_foo') (again, potentially other patterns) but changing all the places I fetch elements by id seemed pretty ugly too, and I'd like to avoid that abstraction layer if possible to do so easily :)

    I have a requirement to write a web service that allows me to post an image to a server along with some additional information about that image. I'm completely new to developing web services (normally client side dev) so I'm a little stumped as to what I need to look into and try. How do you post binary data and plain text into a servic? What RequestFormat should I use? It looks like my options are xml or json. Can I use either of these? Bit of a waffly question but I just need some direction rather than a solution as I can't seem to find much online.

  • Eclipse jvm.dll error when loading

    Trying to open Eclipse after a couple of months and get this error: So I checked that folder to see if it existed, and it did: I checked my PATH Was correct and it was also correct: When this error first occurred I had 3 Java installations. JRE 7 Update 10, JDK 7 Update 7 32bit and 64 bit. I uninstall ALL and restarted my machine. Eclipse then stated, as expected that I needed a JRE or a JDK. So I downloaded and installed the latest JDK and now I get this error, despite everything appearing to be correct. Any ideas?

  • Finding N contiguous zero bits in an integer to the left of the MSB position of another integer

    The problem is: given an integer val1 find the position of the highest bit set (Most Significant Bit) then, given a second integer val2 find a contiguous region of unset bits, with the minimum number of zero bits given by width to the left of the position (ie, in the higher bits). I have also implemented similar algorithms but working to the right of the MSB of the first number, so they don't require this seemingly extra condition. How can I get rid of this extra condition, or even, are there far more optimal solutions? Edit: Some background not strictly required. The offset result is a count of bits from the high bit, not from the low bit as maybe expected. This will be part of a wider algorithm which scans a 2D array for a 2D area of zero bits. Here, for testing, the algorithm has been simplified. val1 represents the first integer which does not have all bits set found in a row of the 2D array. From this the 2D version would scan down which is what val2 represents. I would like to place this .tooltip div 150px to the right of that div via JQuery. I understand I need to set this tooltips top and left attributes, but not sure how. Idealy the tooltips top attribute should be the same as #button_container (although #button_container isn't positioned absolutely) and 150 less than #button_container's left attribute. I don't really know where to get started on this so any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

It's a unidirectional link where each Person has a field for which House they belong to, so the Person table has a column named house_id. I need to be able to return all the Person objects who belong to a certain House, but I only have the id of the house. This can be done like this: House house = houseDAO.findById(houseId); List people = session.createCriteria(Person.class).add(Restrictions.eq("house", house)).list(); But since I don't need the house, that's adding an unnecessary query. I've tried to do: session.createCriteria(Person.class).add(Restrictions.eq("house_id", houseId)).list(); But that doesn't work because house_id is not a property, it's a database column. I could just add an sql restriction, but is there a hibernate way of doing this?

  • Center aligned form with equal width labels

    I have a very simple web form which consists of labels and input fields, however I can not seem to find a way of aligning the form in the center of the page and for the labels to have an equal width so that they appear neatly next to each other, one under the other. The structure of my page is basically: <body> <div class="form"> <form method="post"> <fieldset> <label>Mobile:</label><input type="text" name="msisdn"><br/> <label>Code:</label><input type="text" name="code"><br/> <br/> <input type="image" src="submit-button.gif" alt="Submit"> <br/> <input type="checkbox" name="ts_and_cs"><label> Accept Terms and Conditions</label> <br/><br/> </fieldset> </form> </div> </body> Usually I would fix this by doing float:left on the label fields and setting a width on the labels, however for this I need the labels and input fields to be centered on the page. Also I am not able to set the width of the page (or any containing divs) as the page will be displayed on mobile devices with different screen sizes. Any suggestions as to how best style the form?     What's a good way to construct an LPCWSTR on WinCE 6? I'd like to find something similar to String.Format() in C#. My attempt is: OSVERSIONINFO vi; memset (&vi, 0, sizeof vi); vi.dwOSVersionInfoSize = sizeof vi; GetVersionEx (&vi); char buffer[50]; int n = sprintf(buffer, "The OS version is: %d.%d", vi.dwMajorVersion, vi.dwMinorVersion); ZDKSystem_ShowMessageBox(buffer, MESSAGEBOX_TYPE_OK); That ZDKSystem_ShowMessageBox refers to the ZDK for hacked Zunes available at: http://zunedevwiki.org This line of code works well with the message box call: ZDKSystem_ShowMessageBox(L"Hello Zune", MESSAGEBOX_TYPE_OK); My basic goal is to look at the exact version of WinCE running on a Zune HD to see which features are available (i.e. is it R2 or earlier?). Also I haven't seen any tags for the ZDK so please edit if something is more fitting!
