.NET Framework 3.5 wont install on VISTA 32bit

Running VISTA 32bit. I am trying to install c# Visual Express 2008 - but it requires .NET 3.5. One of the prerequisites during the install is .NET 3.5 ... it attempts to install it but fails, with no real error message. So I downloaded .NET 3.5 standalone from MS website and tried that.Again it fails with the error [10/17/08,23:17:07] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0SP1 (CBS) is not installed. [10/17/08,23:50:55] Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0SP1 (CBS): [2] Error: Installation failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0SP1 (CBS). MSI returned error code 34 I currently have c# Express edition 2005 installed. But everything I read says that I can have these two applications installed together. I believe that 2005 runs Framework 2.0. 2005 express edition works fine. - its just the 2008 edition im having problems installed the .NET 3.5 with .... any ideas ? thanks

NHibernate is not connecting to sql server.

When i set up a regular connection, it works, however when i try to use nhibernate, hibernate.cfg.xml, i m getting the following error. Message="A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. Reporting Services "cannot connect to the report server database"

We have Reporting Services running, and twice in the past 6 months it has been down for 1-3 days, and suddenly it will start working again. The errors range from not being able to view the tree root in a browser, down to being able to insert parameters on a report, but crashing before the report can generate. Looking at the logs, there is 1 error and 1 warning which seem to correspond somewhat. Accessing an RSS feed in Flex, works when run from Flash Builder 4, but not when the project is onli

Hey guys, In my Flex 4 app, I access an RSS feed (I'm using http://news.ycombinator.com/rss as a dummy). It works okay when I run it from Flash Builder 4, but if I export the project and upload it, I get the following error when it tries to load the RSS feed: Error #2044: Unhandled securityError:. text=Error #2048: Security sandbox violation: my_website_url cannot load data from http://news.ycombinator.com/rss. What could be causing this error? Shouldn't RSS be able to be accessed from anywhere? Thanks for reading.

golang dynamically parsing files

For parsing files i have setup a variable for template.ParseFiles and i currently have to manually set each file. Two things: How would i be able to walk through a main folder and a multitude of subfolders and automatically add them to ParseFiles so i dont have to manually add each file individually? I'm looking for a reliable way to verify T-SQL stored procedures. Anybody got one?

Hi all-- We're upgrading from SQL Server 2005 to 2008. Almost every database in the 2005 instance is set to 2000 compatibility mode, but we're jumping to 2008. Our testing is complete, but what we've learned is that we need to get faster at it. I've discovered some stored procedures that either SELECT data from missing tables or try to ORDER BY columns that don't exist. Wrapping the SQL to create the procedures in SET PARSEONLY ON and trapping errors in a try/catch only catches the invalid columns in the ORDER BYs. It does not find the error with the procedure selecting data from the missing table. SSMS 2008's intellisense, however, DOES find the issue, but I can still go ahead and successfully run the ALTER script for the procedure without it complaining. So, why can I even get away with creating a procedure that fails when it runs? Are there any tools out there that can do better than what I've tried? The first tool I found wasn't very useful: DbValidator from CodeProject, but it finds fewer problems than this script I found on SqlServerCentral, which found the invalid column references. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Check Syntax of Database Objects -- Copyrighted work. I have downloaded databasename.bak file from my hosting company, when i tried to restore that DB file in SQL server 2008 it is keep on giving me following error. The media family on device 'C:\go4sharepoint_1384_8481.bak' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family. RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 3241) According to this error and from following link http://www.sqlcoffee.com/Troubleshooting047.htm It is clear that either file i am downloading is corrupt or it is getting corrupted on the way? Any idea, why I am keep on receiving this error? I tried almost all ways but unable to fix this problem, please help me.

PHP MySQLi isn't letting me alter a table (adding a new column)

Well thats pretty much it. This is my query: $query = 'ALTER TABLE permissions ADD '.$name.' INT NOT NULL DEFAULT \'0\''; Where $name is already checked to exist with only lower case alpha letters, and not more than 20 length. Im just starting this out with very simple names. The next 4 lines of code after that one are: if($stmt = $db -> prepare($query)) { $success = $stmt -> execute(); $stmt -> close(); if(!$success) echo 'ERROR: Unsuccessful query: ',$db->error,PHP_EOL; } And I get back, every time ERROR: Unsuccessful query: And no error message. Is there a way to get more error messages so I can see what is failing? I can add new columns through phpmyadmin, but that really doesnt help me at all. The $db is fine, i do lots of stuff before and after this one section. It is only adding new column to the table that fails. side question: prepare() rejected my query every time when i tried to make those 2 variables, the $name and the 0 value as ? ? prepared statement values. Thats why they are in the real query and not bound later. If i could change that too I would like that.

MySQL Removing Some Foreign keys

I have a table whose primary key is used in several other tables and has several foreign keys to other tables. CREATE TABLE location ( locationID INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY ... ) ENGINE = InnoDB; CREATE TABLE assignment ( assignmentID INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY, locationID INT NOT NULL, FOREIGN KEY locationIDX (locationID) REFERENCES location (locationID) ... ) ENGINE = InnoDB; CREATE TABLE assignmentStuff ( ... assignmentID INT NOT NULL, FOREIGN KEY assignmentIDX (assignmentID) REFERENCES assignment (assignmentID) ) ENGINE = InnoDB; The problem is that when I'm trying to drop one of the foreign key columns (ie locationIDX) it gives me an "ERROR 1025 (HY000): Error on rename" error. How can I drop the column in the assignment table above without getting this error?

The second line however, provides the following error: warning: passing argument 1 of 'addObject:' makes pointer from integer without a cast This also crashes the application with a "bad address" error. I thought this error was due to a problem with memory allocation. Can someone shed some light on this.

Hi all, I can't really find good guidelines through google searches of the proper way to escape variables in URLs. Basically I am printing out a bunch of results from a mysql query in a table and I want one of the entries in each row to be a link to that result's page. I think this is easy, that I'm just missing a apostrophe or backslash somewhere, but I can't figure it out. Here's the line that's causing the error: echo "<a href = \"movies.php/?movie_id='$row['movie_id']'\"> Who Owns It? </a> "; and this is the error I'm getting: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING If you could elaborate in your answers about general guidelines for working with echo and variables in urls, that would be great. Why isn't my log4net appender buffering?

I've created a custom log4net appender. It descends from log4net.Appender.SmtpAppender which descends from log4net.Appender.BufferingAppenderSkeleton. I programatically setup the following parameters in its constructor: this.Lossy = false; //don't drop any messages this.BufferSize = 3; //buffer up to 3 messages this.Threshold = log4net.Core.Level.Error; //append messages of Error or higher this.Evaluator = new log4net.Core.LevelEvaluator(Level.Off); //don't flush the buffer for any message, regardless of level I expect this would buffer 3 events of level Error or higher and deliver those events when the buffer is filled. However, I'm finding that the events are not buffered at all; instead, SendBuffer() is called immediately every time an error is logged. Is there a mistake in my configuration? Thanks

Why is Flexigird not working on IE

Hi I have a page with a flexigrid on it and it works on FF,Chrome,Opera except IE. it points out that the error is at line of "if(!btn.separator)" which is null or not an object. Well, every thing inside that block is an error on IE cause i think the error is on the "btn" objects.. has anyone ever encountered this error? this is from the latest version of flexigrid for(i=0;i< p.buttons.length;i++){ var btnfor = p.buttons[i]; if(!btn.separator) { //do things here } } Thanks Jrubins
