• How to properly close a socket after an exception is caught?

  Hello, after my last project I had the problem that the client was expecting an object from the server, but while processing the clients input an exception that forces the server to close the socket for security reasons is caught. This causes the client to terminate in a very unpleasant way, the way I decided to deal with this was sending the client a Input status message after each recieved input so that he knows if his input was processed properly or if he needs to throw an exception. So my question: Is there a better/cleaner way to close the socket after an exception is caught?? thanks,

  Hi, I am trying to use JSF 2.0 flash via redirects. I have a class named UserBean (ManagedScoped and RequestScoped). It has a method called getValuesFromFlash which essentially gets the values from the flash and sets the coresponding properties of the UserBean public void getValuesFromFlash() { Flash flash = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getFlash(); firstName= (String) flash.get("firstName"); lastName = (String) flash.get("lastName"); } In the entry page the <h:inputText> are bound to the flash.   Hi, i met a very strange PHP behaviour, i don't understand why it behaves like this. Do you see some error? It doesn't show me any message it simply doesn't execute the function.

  I'm planning a set up for a distributed application that spans serveral machines and will use WCF to send data in between. Machine A Front end website http://www.site.com Password protected site using Forms Authentication Machine B WCF Application Service http://service1.site.com/DoSomething.svc Machine C WCF Application Service http://service2.site.com/DoSomething.svc The WCF services on Machine B and Machine C should check that the request from Machine A has been authenticated. How can i check that the request is authenticated across the different machines? I only care that the request is authenticated and not concerned about securing the message body (because we are not sending any sensitive data across the wire), so SSL is not required. What authentication methods can i use for the above scenario?

I could test a couple classes successfully. But I got error when testing the following: - (id)init { if (self = [super initWithNibName:@"Foo" bundle:nil]) { ... } return self; } The error message is -[UIViewController _loadViewFromNibNamed:bundle:] was unable to load a nib named "Foo" My question: Did I do something wrong?   I have uncovered another problem in the effort that we are making to port several hundreds of ksh scripts from AIX, Solaris and HPUX to Linux. See here for the previous problem. This code: #!/bin/ksh if [ -a k* ]; then echo "Oh yeah!" else echo "No way!" fi exit 0 (when run in a directory with several files whose name starts with k) produces "Oh yeah!" when called with the AT&T ksh variants (ksh88 and ksh93). On the other hand it produces and error message followed by "No way!" on the other ksh variants (pdksh, MKS ksh and bash). Again, my question are: Is there an environment variable that will cause pdksh to behave like ksh93? Failing that: Is there an option on pdksh to get the required behavior?

  Hi, i got a weird problem regarding egrep and pipe I tried to filter a stream containing some lines who start with a topic name, such as "TICK:this is a tick message\n" When I try to use egrep to filter it : ./stream_generator | egrep 'TICK' | ./topic_processor It seems that the topic_processor never receives any messages However, when i use the following python script: ./stream_generator | python filter.py --topics TICK | ./topic_processor everything looks to be fine. I guess there need to be a 'flush' mechanism for egrep as well, is this correct? Can anyone here give me a clue? • Import Paradox table in Access database: Incorrect collating sequence

  Hello, I have a Paradox 5.0 database and want to migrate it to Access 2007. But if I try to import a Paradox table, Access gives an error message: "Incorrect collating sequence". The Help says: "You tried to link a Paradox table that was created with an international sort order that is not the same as the one you are using". What am I doing wrong? How can a change that sort order? Anybody? Thanks in advance.

  Frankly, I'm flummoxed. Can anyone tell me why I would get a failure message with this code? $date = Zend_Date::now(); $date = $date->getIso(); if(Zend_Date::isDate($date, Zend_Date::ISO_8601)) { print('success'); } else { print('failure'); } exit; It also fails if I just pass in a Zend_Date object.   Hi, My XHR POST REQUEST is cut off. When I try to reload my page information is missing. Firebugs sends following message: ... Firebug request size limit has been reached by Firebug. ... My question is: What are my options? Would it work if I declare the content.length in the header? I added a line to my apache config file and restarted it: LimitRequestBody 0 I increased the size of transfer files in mysql config file Or it is a browser issue? The only solution I could think of was to cut the data in pieces and transmit the array one by one but I don't like this idea. The content length is 91691 according to firebug. Any suggestions?

• Facebook status.get API throws 500 HTTP status code

  I have an APP that calls Facebook status.get method via the REST server - restserver.php using session key method. This app works fine for most of the users, but for one user I consistently receive HTTP 500 status code. Since this doesn't have any specific Facebook error message, it is almost impossible for me to debug this. Anyone faced a similar problem? What could be wrong with this user account? I checked the privacy options that I could think of and they look fine. Also, for the same user, I can use friends.get method without any problem. EDIT: I tried in Facebook forums as well, but it was of no use. Any pointers in the direction towards debugging/troubleshooting this problem are also appreciated.

• How to include file outside document root?

  Hey, What I want do to is to include 'file1.php' from 'domain1' into 'file2.php' on 'domain2'. So what I figured I should do is something like this: file2.php require_once '/var/www/vhosts/domain1/httpdocs/file1.php'; But this won't work for reasons I can't truly grasp. So what I did was to add my path to the include path. Something like: file2.php set_include_path(get_include_path() . PATH_SEPARATOR . "/var/www/vhosts/domain1/httpdocs"); require_once 'file1.php'; So can you please give me some hints as of where I'm doing wrong ? Thanks UPDATE - Either way I get the following error message: Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/var/www/vhosts/domain1/httpdocs/file1.php' (include_path='.:/php/includes:/usr/share/pear/') in /var/www/vhosts/domain2/httpdocs/file2.php on line 4 Also I have tried this both with safe_mode On and Off. UPDATE2: Also I've changed the permissions to 777 on my test file and I've double-checked the paths to the include file in bash.

  I am looking at various options for a WCF based publish subscribe framework. Say I have one WCF web service that will be the publisher and 1000 clients registered as subscriber. For some published messages all clients will be interested but at the same time I wish the ability to notify a single client with a specific message. On receiving notification the client will call other web service methods on the web service. Is NServiceBus suitable for this kind of scenario ? If I use MSMQ for transport does it mean that every PC where the client is installed requires a queue to be created ?

  I'm trying to update Eclipse 5.3.1 (on Gentoo Linux) from the Galileo Discovery Site and I get this error message: Network connection problems encountered during search. But how do I persuade Eclipse to stop requesting it?
