  • How to step inside NSManagedObject; access individual attributes.

    - by user300972
    NSManagedObject *entryObj = [self.fetchedResultsController objectAtIndexPath:indexPath]; entryObj consists of four String attributes. If I NSLog entryObj, I get the information I want. I cannot figure out how to access each of these properties individually. I read a similar post where the solution was to call "entity." I cannot figure out how to use "entity" to access a specific attribute. Any ideas? References? Tutorials? Thanks in advance.

  • iPad View Rotation Duration

    - by federivo
    Hi everyone! When changing the orientation of the iPad, my app rotates its view very fast. It is difficult to perceive the transition between both orientations. I would like to increase a little bit the duration of this transition. Does anyone know how to increase the duration of this transition? Thanks!

  • Configure UIDatePicker with current locations time

    - by Telkitty
    I am using UIDatePicker in my current app, here is how I set a UILabel with the date time string obtained from the UIDatePicker. -(IBAction)AddTimeEnd:(id)sender { NSDate * date = [m_DateTimePicker date]; m_DateTimeLabel.text = [date description]; } Somehow the time I have entered (EST) kept on getting converted to US time in the UILabel. Does anyone know how to fix it? I would like the time entered in UIDatePicker to be consistent with the text in the label (probably the simplest way is set the locale for the UIDatePicker to be the local timezone)?

  • Popovercontroller doesn't display full

    - by user2959234
    I have an UIPopovercontroller in with an content that generate from an viewcontroller. popOverController = [[UIPopoverController alloc]initWithPopUp:emLightPopUp]; popOverController.delegate = self; // Get device position. CGRect position = {parentButton.frame.origin,emLightPopUp.popUpView.frame.size}; CGSize popUpViewFrameSize = emLightPopUp.popUpView.frame.size; Link screenshot: http://i.stack.imgur.com/AxqoG.png The issue is that when I change the position of select devices (touched button) upwards, the displayed popup will be resized like the screenshot. I already try to set content size inside the subclass of uipopover but it still doesn't work: self.popoverContentSize = emLightPopUp.popUpView.frame.size; EDIT: I solved this problems by calculate the position that display the popup and scroll the scrollview inside into an upper position. Check out this code: -(void)moveDeviceOutMiddleScreen:(id)deviceButton { UIButton* button = (UIButton*)deviceButton; CGFloat yPositionRange = button.frame.origin.y - self.floorZoomScrollView.contentOffset.y; int middle_top_y = 70; int middle_bottom_y = 166; if (yPositionRange > middle_top_y && yPositionRange < middle_bottom_y) { CGRect newRect = CGRectMake(self.floorZoomScrollView.contentOffset.x, self.floorZoomScrollView.contentOffset.y +yPositionRange*0.6, self.floorZoomScrollView.frame.size.width, self.floorZoomScrollView.frame.size.height); [self.floorZoomScrollView scrollRectToVisible:newRect animated:NO]; } } Thanks for your responses.

  • What kind of data type is this?

    - by mystify
    In an class header I have seen something like this: enum { kAudioSessionProperty_PreferredHardwareSampleRate = 'hwsr', // Float64 kAudioSessionProperty_PreferredHardwareIOBufferDuration = 'iobd' // Float32 }; Now I wonder what data type such an kAudioSessionProperty_PreferredHardwareSampleRate actually is? I mean this looks like plain old C, but in Objective-C I would write @"hwsr" if I wanted to make it a string. I want to pass such an "constant" or "enum thing" as argument to an method.

  • Validate NSString

    - by Chris
    I am validating an NSString to ensure that the string does not contain apostrophes. The code I'm using to do this is NSCharacterSet * invalidNumberSet = [NSCharacterSet characterSetWithCharactersInString:@"'"]; NSScanner * scanner = [NSScanner scannerWithString:string]; NSString * scannerResult; [scanner setCharactersToBeSkipped:nil]; [scanner scanUpToCharactersFromSet:invalidNumberSet intoString:&scannerResult]; if(![string isEqualToString:scannerResult]) { return 2; } Returning 2 represents an error. This code works, except for the case where the string is an apostrophe. To get around this issue, I added the following code above the preceding block. if([string isEqualToString:@"'"]); { return 2; } This code is evaluating to true, regardless of the input. I need to either prevent the first block from crashing with the input of ', or get the second block to work. What am I missing?

    - by Rajashekar
    Hi Guys i have a tableview controller like so, NSString *selectedindex; @interface ContactsController : UITableViewController { NSMutableArray *names; NSMutableArray *phonenumbers; NSMutableArray *contacts; DatabaseCRUD *sampledatabase; } +(NSString *) returnselectedindex; @end in the implementation file i have +(NSString *) returnselectedindex { return selectedindex; } when a row is selected in the tableview i put have the following code. selectedindex = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d", indexPath.row]; NSLog(@"selected row is %@",selectedindex); in a different class i am trying to access the selectedindex. like so selected = [ContactsController returnselectedindex]; NSLog(@"selected is %@",selected); it gives me a warning: 'ContactsController' may not respond to '+returnselectedindex' and crashes. i am not sure why. i have used class methods previously lot of times , and never had a problem. any help please. Thank You.

  • Setting up an independent delegate?

    - by fuzzygoat
    Its common for the dataSource and delegate to be the same object, its also common for this object to be the viewController. In all the info/tutorials that I have seen online delegates are always setup as above. If I wanted to create my own class instead can anyone give me any pointers as to how I might do that. Where does that object get instantiated, how do you connect the dataSource and delegate items etc. I am using UITableView to test this.

  • Adding the scrollview created by photoscroller to a subview

    - by wierddemon
    I'm trying to modify Apple's PhotoScroller example to make the scrollview that is created into a subview instead of it being a view that takes up the entire screen. Any ideas on how this can be accomplished? - (void)loadView { // Step 1: make the outer paging scroll view CGRect pagingScrollViewFrame = [self frameForPagingScrollView]; pagingScrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:pagingScrollViewFrame]; pagingScrollView.pagingEnabled = YES; pagingScrollView.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor]; pagingScrollView.showsVerticalScrollIndicator = NO; pagingScrollView.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator = NO; pagingScrollView.contentSize = [self contentSizeForPagingScrollView]; pagingScrollView.delegate = self; // When I do this it fails [self.view addSubview:pagingScrollView]; // Step 2: prepare to tile content recycledPages = [[NSMutableSet alloc] init]; visiblePages = [[NSMutableSet alloc] init]; [self tilePages]; }

  • Looking for some help working with premultiplied alpha

    - by user315142
    I am trying to update a source image with the contents of multiple destination images. From what I can tell using premultiplied alpha is the way to go with this, but I think I am doing something wrong (function below). the image I am starting with is initialized with all ARGB values set to 0. When I run the function once the resulting image looks great, but when I start compositing on any others all the pixels that have alpha information get really messed up. Does anyone know if I am doing something glaringly wrong or if there is something extra I need to do to modify the color values? void CompositeImage(unsigned char *src, unsigned char *dest, int srcW, int srcH){ int w = srcW; int h = srcH; int px0; int px1; int px2; int px3; int inverseAlpha; int r; int g; int b; int a; int y; int x; for (y = 0; y < h; y++) { for (x= 0; x< w*4; x+=4) { // pixel number px0 = (y*w*4) + x; px1 = (y*w*4) + (x+1); px2 = (y*w*4) + (x+2); px3 = (y*w*4) + (x+3); inverseAlpha = 1 - src[px3]; // create new values r = src[px0] + inverseAlpha * dest[px0]; g = src[px1] + inverseAlpha * dest[px1]; b = src[px2] + inverseAlpha * dest[px2]; a = src[px3] + inverseAlpha * dest[px3]; // update destination image dest[px0] = r; dest[px1] = g; dest[px2] = b; dest[px3] = a; } } }

  • How to work with images(png's) of size 2-4Mb.

    - by Sam
    I am working with images of size 2 to 4MB. I want to edit image of resolution 1200x1600. performing scaling, traslation and rotation operations. I want to another images on that and saving it to photo album. My app is crashing(giving memory warning) after i successfully edit one image and save to album. I have releasing some images when i get memory warning. But still it crashes as i am working with 2 images of size 3MB each and context of size 1200x1600 and getting a image from the context at the same time. Is there any way to compress images and work with it by performing scaling, traslation and rotation operations?

  • How to create a NSPredicate to find entries with leading numerical value?

    - by Toastor
    Hello, I'm using NSPredicates to fetch entities based on a name attribute. Creating a predicate for names beginning with letters was easy (@"name BEGINSWITH %@", searchLetter), however now I'd like to fetch all entities with a name that begins with a numerical value, or rather a non-alphabetical number. What would be the appropriate predicate expression here? Right now I don't want to get too deep into predicate programming, as this is all I need right now and time flies. So, please, don't point me to the Predicate Programming Guide, I just need that expression.. :) Thanks alot guys!
