    Hello all, I'm currently in the process of adding JNI functionality into a legacy delphi app. In a single-threaded environment everything works fine, but as soon as I move into multi-threaded environment, things start to become hairy. My problem is that calling JavaVM^.AttachCurrentThread( JavaVM, @JEnv, nil ); returns 0, but puts the JEnv pointer to nil. I have no idea why jvm.dll should return a NULL pointer.   • Help with dates in Android

    Hi guys, Looking for a bit of help with taking a dat from a DatePicker Widget and storing it in an sqlite database within the app. I have the following code: java.util.Date utilDate = null; String y = Integer.toString(date.getDayOfMonth()) + "/" + (date.getMonth()+1) + "/" + Integer.toString(date.getYear()); SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyy"); utilDate = formatter.parse(y); java.sql.Date z = new java.sql.Date(utilDate.getDate()); x = z.toString(); Log.v("The date: ", x); } Where date is the DatePicker widget. If I output the utilDate variable (i.e. the Java version of date) using logCat it seems to work fine and gives me a format like: Tue Jan 04 00:00:00 GMT 2011 which I am expecting but using the code above to get the sql version of the date, it always gives me the date 1970-01-01. I'm pretty sure the solution is very simple but I just can't see it.

  • Multiple windows services in a single project = mystery

    I'm having a bizarre issue that I haven't seen before and I'm thinking it MUST be something simple that I'm not seeing in my code. I have a project with 2 windows services defined. One I've called DataSyncService, the other SubscriptionService. Both are added to the same project installer. Both use a timer control from System.Timers. If I start both services together, they seem to work fine. The timers elapse at the appropriate time and everything looks okay. However, if I start either service individually, leaving the other stopped, everything goes haywire. The timer elapses constantly and on the wrong service. In other words, if I start the DataSyncService, the SubscriptionService timer elapses over and over. ...which is obviously strange. The setup is similar to what I've done in the past so I'm really stumped. I even tried deleting both service and starting over but it doesn't seem to make a difference. At this point, I'm thinking I've made a simple error in the way I'm defining the services and my brain just won't let me see it. It must be creating some sort of threading issue that causes one service to race when the other is stopped. Here the code....     If I create this collection: IEnumerable<_TITLE> _titles = null; How can I set the result set from Netflix in this expression: _titles = from t in Titles where t.Id == "ApUFq" select new {t, t.Cast} I am getting: Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Linq.IQueryable' to 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<_Title'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) I understand it's because I am using an anonymous type. _TITLE is a custom complex object I create that exposes a subset of Netflix properties. If I add "_TITLE" in front the of the "new" it says that my object does not implement IENUMBERABLE. If then _TITLE implements IENUMBERABLE, it says _TITLE does not contain a definition for ADD and still getting conversion error. Basically, I want to set the _TITLE properties with the data returned from Netflix. I have defined _TITLE to contain the fields I need, plus a collection of PERSON (for Cast).

    Hi, I am using valgrind callgrind to profile a program on gtk. And then I use kcachedgrind to read the result. I have captured an update a screenshot of kcachedgrind here: http://i41.tinypic.com/168spk0.jpg. It said the function gtk_moz_embed_new() costed '15.61%'. But I dont understand how is that possible. the function gtk_moz_embed_new() literally has 1 line: and it is just calling a g_object_new(). The problem is that the thread is blocked until the first one finishes writing (until all data is transferred on the other side of the pipe), and I don't want that.   • Making Flex HTML Control UnSelectable

    I am displaying some HTML text in an Adobe AIR Application that I do not want the user to be able to cut and paste. How do I make the HTML control disallow highlighting of the HTML without disabling the ScrollBars. mouseChildren=false works but disables the scrollbars which is unacceptable. Right now I have: <mx:HTML location="http://dexter/preview.html" width="100%" height="100%" id="PreviewArea" x="0" y="0" tabEnabled="false" tabChildren="false" focusEnabled="false" focusRect="null"/> But it's not working properly either. I have also tried overlaying a disabled transparent text control over the top of the HTML component, but the user is still able to tab to the HTML and use the keyboard controls to copy the text to the clipboard. Any hints?

When I put a & in front of sdata_ptr it calms down but I'm not sure if it will work. Isn't what I wrote above supposed to be true?

    What's the cheapest way for a JavaScript like setTimeout-function in C++? I would need this: 5000 miliseconds from now, start function xy (no parameters, no return value). The reason for this is I need to initialize COM for text to speech, but when I do it on dll attach, it crashes. It works fine however if I do not call CoInitialize from dllmain. I just need to call CoInitialize and CoCreateInstance, and then use the instance in other functions. I can catch the uninitialized instance by checking for NULL, but I need to initialize COM - without crashing.
