    I am using the below class file, where some variables are declared to use in the entire application. Now I used that variable BlockLogOut in another class file to make the value true. I just put this below line and getting error in it.. TypeInitializationException Global.BlockLogOut = True; The weird thing is, it was working fine for many months and i am getting this error now on the above line. Of course i was modifying some other stuffs in the application, but surely not this class file.   • PHP exec() hangs, Error 500

    So, my plan is to make small thumbnails of URL's with PHP and IECapt. IECapt works well, a nice command line tool, gets the full sized image of specified URL in 1 to 4 seconds. But my problem is to execute it trough PHP. This is the code I've trying to get working: exec('IECapt.exe ' . escapeshellarg($URL) . ' ' . escapeshellarg($Filename)) $URL is of course the URL, and $filename is a simplified version of the URL. Sometimes I get the IECapt to snap the image(trough PHP), but it takes awfully long (30-60s), and in the end I always get a 500-error, with no error messages to tell me what's wrong. Both variables are fine, they work manually with commandline: IECapt http://google.com Google.png My server set-up is IIS7 and PHP5.2.9, if relevant. (Windows Vista, all on my personal computer, so full access.) Any ideas?

    Suppose I'm messing about with some data by binding vectors together, as I'm wont to do on a lazy sunday afternoon. x <- rnorm(25, mean = 65, sd = 10) y <- rnorm(25, mean = 75, sd = 7) z <- 1:25 dd <- data.frame(mscore = x, vscore = y, caseid = z) I've now got my new dataframe dd, which is wonderful. But there's also still the detritus from my prior slicings and dicings: > ls() [1] "dd" "x" "y" "z" What's a simple way to clean up my workspace if I no longer need my "source" columns, but I want to keep the dataframe? That is, now that I'm done manipulating data I'd like to just have dd and none of the smaller variables that might inadvertently mask further analysis: > ls() [1] "dd" I feel like the solution must be of the form rm(ls[ -(dd) ]) or something, but I can't quite figure out how to say "please clean up everything BUT the following objects."

  • Android/Java Javadoc missing after updating Android SDK

    After i recently installed the new Android SDK stuff, I no longer can view the Javadoc while editing my project's code. I get this message: Note: This element has no attached source and the Javadoc could not be found in the attached Javadoc. I am getting this message for all methods, variables, classes, etc. I have installed the documentation and everything available to me via the android update manager. I have also tried to do a clean install of the android sdk and eclipse, and no luck getting the javadoc working. I have also tried manually setting the javadoc via project properties -> javadoc location -> file:/C:/Program Files/Android/android-sdk-windows/docs/reference/ with no luck What suggestions do you have that could fix this problem?

    Hi folks Looking for suggestions as to the best way to do this (I know there are many options): take a variable like this: $args = ('post_type=post&order_by=DESC&limit=10'); the create a function to convert that variable into parts like this: $post_type = post; $order_by = DESC; $limit= 10; Reason is I want a client to be able to use a string like the first to pass variables to a sql query in much the same way (but doesn't have to be exact) as you can do it in WordPress.

  • Why is 'using namespace std;' considered a bad practice in C++?

    Okay, sorry for the simplistic question, but this has been bugging me ever since I finished high school C++ last year. I've been told by others on numerous occasions that my teacher was wrong in saying that we should have "using namespace std;" in our programs, and that std::cout and std::cin are more proper. However, they would always be vague as to why this is a bad practice. So, I'm asking now: Why is "using namespace std;" considered bad? Is it really that inefficient, or risk declaring ambiguous vars(variables that share the same name as a function in std namespace) that much? Or does this impact program performance noticeably as you get into writing larger applications? I'm sorry if this is something I should have googled to solve; I figured it would be nice to have this question on here regardless in case anyone else was wondering.

But; example; first time I changed combobox 1-20 listboxes visible=true I changed combobox again not 1-20. 20,40 changing :S How can it be, can u tell me an alternative array list type, or another way?

So basically what I need to accomplish is, create an array of x amount of numbers (created randomly) who's value add up to n: Lets say, I have to create 4 numbers that add up to 30. I just need the first random dataset. The 4 and 30 here are variables which will be set by the user. Essentially something like x = amount of numbers; n = sum of all x's combined; create x random numbers which all add up to n; $row = array(5, 7, 10, 8) // these add up to 30 Also, no duplicates are allowed. I need the values with an array. I have been messing around with it sometime, however, my knowledge is fairly limited. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers

For example, echo out the [message] for each post. Since it only loops once, I cant echo $wallpost['message'] or anything similar. any idea?

    Hi, I have searched the web for the answer and saw that mostly variables are saved in viewstate on page.prerender event. However, when I save a variable in viewstate on prerender or load events, how can it store the changed value of the variable? Let's say, after page load, user clicked a button and the value of the variable was changed in onClick event of the button. Then the postback event raised since the button was clicked. According to me, the new value should have been lost and cannot be saved in the viewstate if I save the variable in the viewstate only in prerender event. Shouldn't I save the variable in the viewstate just before the postback event rises? Am I wrong? If so, how can viewstate store the new value of the variable? Thanks for the answer in advance..

    I'm using an INSERT ON DUPLICATE KEY statement for my website. It's for creating news items, so I figured I could use the same MySQL command for both creating and updating news items. However, when I use the following: INSERT INTO table (id,title,content) VALUES(NULL,"Test","Test"); Instead of creating a new auto increment value it throws an error. However, the command works on my main development server. But not on my laptop. Both versions of MySQL are the same, the only difference being MySQL was installed manually on my server, and with WAMP on my laptop. Are there any MySQL Variables that could be causing this?

  • Handling a binary operation that makes sense only for part of a hierarchy.

    I have a hierarchy, which I'll simplify greatly, of implementations of interface Value. Assume that I have two implementations, NumberValue, and StringValue. There is an average operation which only makes sense for NumberValue, with the signature NumberValue average(NumberValue numberValue){ ... } At some point after creating such variables and using them in various collections, I need to average a collection which I know is only of type NumberValue, there are three possible ways of doing this I think: Very complicated generic signatures which preserve the type info in compile time (what I'm doing now, and results in hard to maintain code) Moving the operation to the Value level, and: throwing an unsupportedOperationException for StringValue, and casting for NumberValue. Casting at the point where I know for sure that I have a NumberValue, using slightly less complicated generics to insure this. Does anybody have any better ideas, or a recommendation on oop best practices?

System.exit(1); } FILE_NAME = tempName; Is this indeed bad practice? Should one avoid initializing variables to dummy values that will never actually be used? (EDIT - And what about initializing a String variable to "" before a loop that will concatenate values to the String...? Or is this in a separate category? e.g. String whatever = ""; for(String str : someCollection){ whatever += str; } )

    I have the following relation in my rails app: genre - has many - authors authors - belong to genre and has many books books - belongs to authors and belongs to users (users can add books to the db) in my controller I have: @books=current_user.books(:include => [:author => :genre], :order => 'books.created_at DESC')--- -- In my controller I used to have: @authors = Author.All @genres = Genre.All etc. -- In my view I have @genres.each do |genre| @authors.each do |author| if author.genre_id == genre.id stuff end end end Now that I'm using eager loading, I can't imagine this is the best way to do this (nor does it work as I don't have the @ variables) - I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how to approach this?

    I have a class with a protected method Zig::punt() and I only want it to be accessible to the class "Avocado". In C++, you'll normally do this using the "friend Avocado" specifier, but this will cause all of the other variables to become accessible to "Avocado" class; I don't want this because this breaks encapsulation. Is what I want impossible, or does there already exist an obscure trick out there that I can use to achieve what I want? Or possibly alternative class design patterns that'll achieve the same thing?     I need to pass a parameter, because I would like to redirect back to the module and query string of the current page. So I can get from showdown/index?id=35 --click--- showdown/vote?id=1 showdown/vote?id=1 --redirect-- showdown/index?id=35 The vote action is not seen. (The redirect method doesn't work as it takes the index.php url only and no actions, and I cannot find a helper in Magento for creating hyperlinks.) Does Magneto have a link helper for this? Example of stuff I want: <a href="<?php echo Mage::Helper->Link->($url, $array); ?> then $array or whatever variables gets sent to the controller.

  • Why does the assignment operator return a value and not a reference?

    I saw the example below explained on this site and thought both answers would be 20 and not the 10 that is returned. He wrote that both the comma and assignment returns a value, not a reference. I don't quite understand what that means. I understand it in relation to passing variables into functions or methods i.e primitive types are passed in by value and objects by reference but I'm not sure how it applies in this case. I also understand about context and the value of 'this' (after help from stackoverflow) but I thought in both cases I would still be invoking it as a method, foo.bar() which would mean foo is the context but it seems both result in a function call bar(). Why is that and what does it all mean? var x = 10; var foo = { x: 20, bar: function () {return this.x;} }; (foo.bar = foo.bar)();//returns 10 (foo.bar, foo.bar)();//returns 10

    I have tried and tried to achieve an SQL injection by making custom queries to the server outside of firefox. Inside the php, all variables are passed into the query in a string like this. Note, by this stage, $_POST has not been touched. mysql_query('INSERT INTO users (password, username) VALUES(' . sha1($_POST['password']) . ',' . $_POST['username'] . ')); Is that a secure way to make a change?

  • Drop Columns R Data frame

    I have a number of columns that I would like to drop from a data frame. I know that we can drop them using something like: df$x <- NULL but I was hoping to do this with less commands. Also, I know that I could use this: df[ -c(1,3:6, 12) ] but I am concerned that the relative position of my variables may change. Given how powerful R is, I figured I would ask to see if there is another way beyond dropping each column 1 by 1. Thanks in advance.
