Is there any way I can get system info, like processor/ram etc (preferably cross platform, in browser)?
I am looking to implement this in a website, so I need it in either flash or a java applet.
http://jsbin.com/urice
I want to remove . after number.
1. should be 1 only
With All browser compatibility inducing IE6 and validity.
I need solution without javascript.
Edit :
If it's not possible with css only then give me simple javascript and jquery solution both.
I am taking a text file from user and then posting that file back to the browser using ajax storing the content in db and then showing the content back to user page using Jquery post response.
Now i want to something like this..
Read the text file from the user computer using javascript. Display the content and when he submits the page I will save the values.
Hi, There seems to be a browser hijack problem and I really dont have time to sort it. I need an alternative download location for Silverlight SDK 3 since microsoft.com does not work.
The following page has white (left) and dark gray (right) background. I checked the CSS and it has a white background image and color: #FFF. I can't figure out how did he archived that.
How to do that?

(If you enlarge the web browser both colors enlarge themselves too.)
In ASP.Net is there a way to dynamically set a control adapter? The standard way to apply a contol adapter is via the ".browser" files. However, I have a situation where I would like to use the control adapter in some circumstances, but not in others - and i can not find a way to achieve this.
Any help appreciated.
The only reason I can think of is that calculating ETag's might be expensive. If pages change very quickly, the browser's cache is likely to be invalidated by the ETag. In that case, calculating the ETag would be a waste of time. On the other hand, a giving a 304 response when possible minimizes the amount of time spent in transmission. What are some good guidelines for when ETag's are likely to be a net winner when implemented with Django's CommonMiddleware?
I'm debating between Phonegap and RhoMobile for cross platform mobile application development. I'm a web developer with experience in Ruby as well as the traditional web technologies (HTML, CSS, and Javascript). The backend of this application will be accessed via a web browser and built with Rails. What are my chief concerns when choosing between these platforms? Which would you recommend I go with and WHY?
Thank you
I am trying to access a server that requires authorization using the WebView widget in Android. I think it's the .htaccess type of authorization.
I works with the default browser provided with the OS, but when I try it with a WebView.. it gives a 401 immediately.
Any ideas on how I can have a WebView present the dialog to enter the user/pass (and remember it)?
Thanks.
Say I wanted to print a ÿ (latin small y with diaeresis) from it's Unicode/UTF-8 number of "U+00FF" or hex of "c3 bf". How can I do that in PHP?
Note: In order for it show correctly in a browser I know that the first step is
header('Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8');
Hello,
I had recently (and unfortunately) uninstalled the google chrome browser from my computer -while completely forgetting about the dozens of bookmarks I had stored on it.
Is there a method/directory to retrieve these chrome bookmarks after having already uninstalled???

Hello!
In a project that I'm currently working on, we use the System.Web.Security MembershipProvider as our provider for membership and roles.
Now, we do not only use this for a web application, but also a WCF & WPF application.
So my question is: Where do I put the configuration of the MembershipProvider so that it applies for both web and WPF?
The configuration I'm talking about is stuff like RequiresQuestionAndAnswer, RequiresUniqueEmail, PasswordFormat etc.
Hi ,
I am trying to remove attributes of a DOM element using below statement in javascript.
var res = nodes.removeAttribute("style");
but the res is always "undefined" it seems that the removeAttribute function does not return anything (I tested it on firefox browser)
How can I identify that the attribute is successfully removed or not ?

I am developing a ff extension. On one menupopup, the onpopupshowing calls a javascript function. Tha JS function extracts a list of names. Now these names have to be displayed in the same popup.
How can i get this? Basically i will need to pass the data (just as we use beans in java) to the browser from the JS function. The data can change everytime the popup is called.
Take a look at http://www.pmverge.com at the "We're in Bootstrap Mode" DIV on the right-hand side. Having that background tile image is causing the IE browser (all versions) to drag when scrolling. What can I do to keep that tiled style but not have it slow down IE.
background-image: url(http://blog.pmverge.com/assets/images/background.gif)
NOTES
Yes this is the Stackoverflow.com
engine as I'm licensing it.
The background watermark image is
not slowing the page down (though it has about 50k).
I'm looking for a way to specify required js files by an angular app. So that, we don't need to include an array of tag for all the files which may be required by some ng-app. The main idea behind this requirement is - we might not need to load all the resources on the browser at once. Which ever ng-app gets loaded onto the screen, will fetch its dependencies on its own from the server. Is there any existing way within angularJS to achieve this goal..?
Since IE6 does not support the child selector (see http://kimblim.dk/csstest/#ex1), what is the alternative when dealing with this browser?
I do not want to modify the markup, and I'd much much prefer a CSS-only solution...
And yes, it is the direct child that I wish to target.
Thanks!
Say I've written a simple app that draws circles in browser. Now I'd like to let people save their pictures. How would I store the data on the server? Which format would be the best option? Should I simply store the relevant html? What would be the case when I would want to make a custom format that is stored on the server and parsed back to html canvas when loaded?
What are cons if we do not care about validation of XHTML and CSS?
In terms of development time,
Code debugging,
Cross browser compatibility,
website maintainability,
Future changes in website,
SEO ranking
Accessibility (Does validity increase
accessibility)
I have to explain a client that Code validation is not just Fashion, it is beneficial for his site.
I have just downloaded the fresh copy of phppowerpoint and added the following line of code
'phppowerpoint' = MODPATH.'phppowerpoint',
and now my page got blank and I got the following error:
The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The
document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations
if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range.
The character encoding of the page must to be declared in the document
or in the transfer protocol.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
I have services that use net.tcp bindings (both streaming and buffered endpoints.) I'd like to add WIF federated security to those services, while continuing to use net.tcp bindings. I've tried to create custom bindings, but so far have been unsuccessful. Below is the general architecture that I'm attempting. I'm looking for the correct binding configuration to make this work.
Client - WPF Application
Relying party - WCF Service with net.tcp endpoints
STS - WCF Service with http(s) endpoint
Say I had a file like... http://my.website.com/myfile.raw
and this file was just raw bytes, representing an intensity image. Is it possible to grab this data and read the bytes in JavaScript? And then using it with HTML 5 canvas (e.g., putImageData) to draw an image?
Or is there some other way to do this in the browser without Java or Flash?
I have a web site that displays a column of flash videos. The page is w3c-valid.
The problem is that the page loads very slowly and sometimes crashes my web browser. Until the page is fully loaded, the videos are slow to respond and play. Is there a way to make these videos load their preview images only? What should I do to speed the page up?
The videos are 360x264.
