  • Login function runs different between local and server

    - by quangnd
Here is my check login function: protected bool checkLoginStatus(String email, String password) { bool loginStatus = false; bool status = false; try { Connector.openConn(); String str = "SELECT * FROM [User]"; SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(str, Connector.conn); SqlDataAdapter da = new SqlDataAdapter(cmd); DataSet ds = new DataSet(); da.Fill(ds, "tblUser"); //check valid foreach (DataRow dr in ds.Tables[0].Rows) { if (email == dr["Email"].ToString() && password == Connector.base64Decode(dr["Password"].ToString())) { Session["login_status"] = true; Session["username"] = dr["Name"].ToString(); Session["userId"] = dr["UserId"].ToString(); status = true; break; } } } catch (Exception ex) { } finally { Connector.closeConn(); } return status; } And call it at my aspx page: String email = Login1.UserName.Trim(); String password = Login1.Password.Trim(); if (checkLoginStatus(email, password)) Response.Redirect(homeSite); else lblFailure.Text = "Invalid!"; I ran this page at localhost successful! When I published it to server, this function only can run if email and password correct! Other, error occured: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) I tried open SQL Server 2008 Configuration Manager and enable SQL Server Browser service (Logon as:NT Authority/Local Service) but it stills error. (note: here is connection string of openConn() at Localhost (run on SQLEXpress 2005) connectionString="Data Source=MYLAPTOP\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=Spider_Vcms;Integrated Security=True" /> ) At server (run on SQL Server Enterprise 2008) connectionString="Data Source=SVR;Initial Catalog=Spider_Vcms;User Id=abc;password=123456;" /> anyone have an answer for my problem :( thanks a lot!

  • Display all images from outside web root folder using PHP

    - by micmola
    Hello, I want to display all images that are stored outside my web root folder. Please help me. I am only able to display one image repeatedly. For example, if I have 5 images in my folder, only one image is displayed on my browser 5 times. Please help me on this. I've been working on this problem for over a month now. I'm a newbie. Help. Thank you. Here is the code I'm using. images.php <?php // Get our database connector require("includes/copta.php"); // Grab the data from our people table $sql = "select * from people"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die ("Could not access DB: " . mysql_error()); $imgLocation = " /uploadfile/"; while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $imgName = $row["filename"]; $imgPath = $imgLocation . $imgName; echo "<img src=\"call_images.php?imgPath=" . $imgName . "\" alt=\"\"><br/>"; echo $row['id'] . " " . $imgName. "<br />"; } ?> call_images.php <?php // Get our database connector require("includes/copta.php"); $imgLocation = '/ uploadz/'; $sql = "select * from people"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die ("Could not access DB: " . mysql_error()); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $imgName = $row["filename"]; $imgPath = $imgLocation . $imgName; // Make sure the file exists if(!file_exists($imgPath) || !is_file($imgPath)) { header('HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found'); die('The file does not exist'); } // Make sure the file is an image $imgData = getimagesize($imgPath); if(!$imgData) { header('HTTP/1.0 403 Forbidden'); die('The file you requested is not an image.'); } // Set the appropriate content-type // and provide the content-length. header("Pragma: public"); header("Expires: 0"); header("Cache-Control: must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0"); header("Content-Type: image/jpg"); header("Content-length: " . filesize($imgPath)); // Print the image data readfile($imgPath); exit(); } ?>

  • Why doesn't my form post when I disable the submit button to prevent double clicking?

    - by John MacIntyre
Like every other web developer on the planet, I have an issue with users double clicking the submit button on my forms. My understanding is that the conventional way to handle this issue, is to disable the button immediately after the first click, however when I do this, it doesn't post. I did do some research on this, god knows there's enough information, but other questions like Disable button on form submission, disabling the button appears to work. The original poster of Disable button after submit appears to have had the same problem as me, but there is no mention on how/if he resolved it. Here's some code on how to repeat it (tested in IE8 Beta2, but had same problem in IE7) My aspx code <%@ Page Language="C#" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="_Default" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function btn_onClick() { var chk = document.getElementById("chk"); if(chk.checked) { var btn = document.getElementById("btn"); btn.disabled = true; } } </script> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:Literal ID="lit" Text="--:--:--" runat="server" /> <br /> <asp:Button ID="btn" Text="Submit" runat="server" /> <br /> <input type="checkbox" id="chk" />Disable button on first click </form> </body> </html> My cs code using System; public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e) { base.OnInit(e); btn.Click += new EventHandler(btn_Click); btn.OnClientClick = "btn_onClick();"; } void btn_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { lit.Text = DateTime.Now.ToString("HH:mm:ss"); } } Notice that when you click the button, a postback occurs, and the time is updated. But when you check the check box, the next time you click the button, the button is disabled (as expected), but never does the postback. WHAT THE HECK AM I MISSING HERE??? Thanks in advance.

  • Method Vs Property

    - by obsoleteattribute
Hi, I'm a newbie to .NET. I have a class called Project, a project can have multiple forecasts. Now If I want to check if the projects has any forecasts or not should I use a readonly boolean property called HasForecast() or should I use a method named HasForecast() which basically returns a boolean value. From framework design guidelines I came to know that methods should be used when the operation is complex, since here I'm retrieving the value of forecasts from DB should I consider method, or since it is a logical data member should I use a property. If I use a property can I call a method in DBLayer from its getter. Please explain Regards, Ravi

  • iPhone - why does AVAudioPlayer currentTime return a negative value?

    - by lostInTransit
Hi When does the AVAudioPlayer's currentTime method return a negative value? The audio file is playing (I am putting in a check before getting currentTime) but making a call to currentTime returns a negative value. Any ideas? Thanks if(thePlayer != nil && [thePlayer isPlaying]){ double playerTime = [thePlayer currentTime]; NSLog(@"Player Time: %f", playerTime); } Output Player Time: -0.019683

  • Are any of these SQL Queries open to SQL injection attacks?

    - by Phil
I have re-written my code after great help from some friendly stack overflow members (big thanks to Martin B and Kev Chadders especially). I would now like to check if my code is still open to SQL Injections after this work. I believe the code is now working as it should, but any blinding errors that you see i'd love to hear about too. My code is now looking like: -code removed-

  • How does the rsync algorithm correctly identify repeating blocks?

    - by Kai
I'm on a personal quest to learn how the rsync algorithm works. After some reading and thinking, I've come up with a situation where I think the algorithm fails. I'm trying to figure out how this is resolved in an actual implementation. Consider this example, where A is the receiver and B is the sender. A = abcde1234512345fghij B = abcde12345fghij As you can see, the only change is that 12345 has been removed. Now, to make this example interesting, let's choose a block size of 5 bytes (chars). Hashing the values on the sender's side using the weak checksum gives the following values list. abcde|12345|fghij abcde -> 495 12345 -> 255 fghij -> 520 values = [495, 255, 520] Next we check to see if any hash values differ in A. If there's a matching block we can skip to the end of that block for the next check. If there's a non-matching block then we've found a difference. I'll step through this process. Hash the first block. Does this hash exist in the values list? abcde -> 495 (yes, so skip) Hash the second block. Does this hash exist in the values list? 12345 -> 255 (yes, so skip) Hash the third block. Does this hash exist in the values list? 12345 -> 255 (yes, so skip) Hash the fourth block. Does this hash exist in the values list? fghij -> 520 (yes, so skip) No more data, we're done. Since every hash was found in the values list, we conclude that A and B are the same. Which, in my humble opinion, isn't true. It seems to me this will happen whenever there is more than one block that share the same hash. What am I missing?

  • MS Runtime required for app to run, how can I include with setup?

    - by JPJedi
My application requires access to be installed on the computer or at least the MS Access runtime. Is their a way to include that with the application to check for that component/resource or install it if it isn't? Or would it just be easier to include a link to tell the user where to get the runtime if the error happens? I am using Visual Studio 2008 and the windows form app is written in VB.net. I am currently using click once for the deployment. Thanks

  • Latex: Listing all figures (tables, algorithm) once again at the end of the document

    - by Zlatko
Hi all, I have been writhing a rather large document with latex. Now I would like to list all the figures / tables / algortihms once again at the end of the file so that I can check if they all look the same. For example, if every algorithm has the same notation. How can I do this? I know about \listofalgorithms and \listoffigures but they only list the names of the algorithms or figures and the pages where they are. Thanks.

  • Spring 3 replacement for isDisabledInThisEnvironment

    - by kayahr
I'm currently converting a test class which extended the Spring class AbstractTransactionalSpringContextTests to Spring 3. This abstract class is now deprecated and I should use AbstractJUnit38SpringContextTests. The test class had this method in it: @Override protected boolean isDisabledInThisEnvironment(String testMethodName) { // Test is only needed for bugfixing and development. Do not check in with this flag on false. return true; } What is the replacement for this isDisabledInThisEnvironment method?

  • How to maxmise the largest contiguous block of memory in the Large Object Heap

    - by Unsliced
The situation is that I am making a WCF call to a remote server which is returns an XML document as a string. Most of the time this return value is a few K, sometimes a few dozen K, very occasionally a few hundred K, but very rarely it could be several megabytes (first problem is that there is no way for me to know). It's these rare occasions that are causing grief. I get a stack trace that starts: System.OutOfMemoryException: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown. at System.Xml.BufferBuilder.AddBuffer() at System.Xml.BufferBuilder.AppendHelper(Char* pSource, Int32 count) at System.Xml.BufferBuilder.Append(Char[] value, Int32 start, Int32 count) at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.ParseText() at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.ParseElementContent() at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Read() at System.Xml.XmlTextReader.Read() at System.Xml.XmlReader.ReadElementString() at Microsoft.Xml.Serialization.GeneratedAssembly.XmlSerializationReaderMDRQuery.Read2_getMarketDataResponse() at Microsoft.Xml.Serialization.GeneratedAssembly.ArrayOfObjectSerializer2.Deserialize(XmlSerializationReader reader) at System.Xml.Serialization.XmlSerializer.Deserialize(XmlReader xmlReader, String encodingStyle, XmlDeserializationEvents events) at System.Xml.Serialization.XmlSerializer.Deserialize(XmlReader xmlReader, String encodingStyle) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) I've read around and it is because the Large Object Heap is just getting too fragmented, so even preceding the call with a quick check to StringBuilder.EnsureCapacity just causes the OutOfMemoryException to be thrown earlier (and because I'm guessing at what's needed, it might not actually need that much so my check is causing more problems than it is solving). Some opinions are that there's not much I can do about it. Some of the questions I've asked myself: Use less memory - have you checked for leaks? Yes. The memory usage goes up and down, but there's no fundamental growth that guarantees this to happen. Some of the times it fails, it succeeded at that stage previously. Transfer smaller amounts Not an option, this is a third party web service over which I have no control (or at least it would take a long time to resolve, in the meantime I still have a problem) Can you do something to the LOH to make it less likely to fail? ... now this is most fruitful course. It's a 32-bit process (it has to be for various political, technical and boring reasons) but there's normally hundreds of meg free (multiples of the largest amount for which we've seen failures). Can we monitor the LOH? Using perfmon I can track the size of the heaps, but I don't think there's a way to monitor the largest available contiguous block of memory. Question is: any advice or suggestions for things to try?

  • Alternative to before </body> tag inline Javascript

    - by Mohammad
I know inline Javascript is frowned upon and with the new on-the-fly Javascript compressors that check for idle/unused function usage and omit the unused code, it seems good practice to have all your Javascript in an external file. My question is, in situations like FOUC (flash of unstyled content) which usually require little snippets of code right before the closing </body> tag, is there a JQuery resolution that would serve the same purpose, but from a remote Javascript file linked in the <head> of the document?

  • Is it poor practice to build an SQL query using WHERE 1=1 AND ...

    - by Rob
I'm writing a script that builds an SQL query by concatenating the string and adding conditions to the WHERE clause as needed. Would it be better practice to use WHERE 1=1 so that the first condition is satisfied and the script can just concatenate an AND x = 'y' to the query, or should I write the extra code to check if a clause has been added and if not, add the AND ? Confusing question, I know. Let me know if I need to be more clear. Rob
