• jQTouch Spinning Wheel (Cubiq) Implementation Won't Work

  I am trying to get a nice Spinning Wheel working within my webapp; http://bit.ly/89oWud However, I keep receiving an error within Mobile Safari that the variable 'blabla' cannot be found. I have implemented both of these suggested solutions: 1# Change SpinningWheelCSS 2# Change JQTouch CSS, JS files, and add JQTouch wrapper to body Neither worked for me. I am trying to use the incredible Spinning Wheel by Cubiq.org. I'm likely doing something wrong, but for the life of me I can't figure out what it is. Help is very much appreciated.

  I usually develop content management solutions in php, I work with designers that create the front end (html & css) and I usually develop the backend (php & mysql) of said cms. I know that the cost of the website may vary depending of the complexity of the html or the backend, but taking as reference a very basic website, what percentage of the cost should go to design and what percentage should go to development. I want to make clear that I as the developer i'm in charge of all the effects and animations of the websites using some of the javascript frameworks, not the designer. I just want to know what´s the fair share for me and for the designer.

• IE Mixed Content Warining when using https URLs and http:443 URLs?

  I'm getting the good ole' "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items." dialog in IE when connecting to an HTTPS site. No big deal... I've just got something coming in over a non-secure connection so that should be an easy fix, right? So I go into "View Web Page Privacy Policy..." to look to see where I've included an HTTP file, and this is what I see... https://blah/path/to/file.htm https://blah/path/to/file.js http://blah:443/path/to/file.css Um... ok... so... there is an HTTP only URL being requested, but it is going over port 443 ("https://blah/" is shorthand for "http://blah:443/") so... What is the deal with this!? IE 7.0.5730.13 can't possibly be THAT stupid, can it? Is there an IIS setting that needs to be tweaked?

• Looking for a reporting tool that will allow vector graphics in output file (PDF)

  I have been tasked with evaluating our current system that we use for creating and outputing reports. Currently we are using Crystal Reports ver 8, (I know that this is and old version.), which has a custom commandline app that we wrote in C# to execute the report for a given parameter passed through the command line. We like Crystal becuase it's easy to setup and design the report. It's also easy to print and create a PDF file from crystal using our custom commandline program. One of the problems/complaints that we have is that Crystal does does not appear to have a method that will allow us to create a PDF file with a vector images, such as our company logo. Crystal Reports always converts an image into a bitmap. When the PDF is printed, the results are less than flattering, and the PDF file size is increased. Does anyone have any recomendadtions for a reporting product that we should consider?

Backslash is considered as a escape character in JS but what you need when you need to pass windows path from the JS and print it? I am using eval because my java applet is executing the code and placing bits when it has a string to evaluate. • Any serious problems when making an old java web app run on new IE 8 browser?

  I need make an quick estimation on project (not sure we got): It's an old banking CMS java web app: Server: jdk5, weblogic 9. Client: winXP, Ie6. It was design only for use with ie6 but now we need make it also run well on new client: ie8,ie7 on win7. I understand the most difference is the client: DOM and CSS. But my problem is we hasn't been worked with ie8, and I have not enough time to build an testing environment because our developing environment is not ready to make test (its remoting completely, and managed by another partner) Any experience or suggestion to help me weighing this task need will be welcomed.

  It is actually useful for me to store some files in EXE to copy to selected location. I'm generating HTML and JS files and need to copy some CSS, JS and GIFs. Snippet System.IO.File.WriteAllBytes(@"C:\MyFile.bin", ProjectNamespace.Properties.Resources.MyFile); doesn't work for me! On "WriteAllBytes" it says: "cannot convert from 'System.Drawing.Bitmap' to 'byte[]'" for image and "cannot convert from 'string' to 'byte[]'" for text file. Help! UPDATE: Solved below.

• Replace text in folder names

  How can I replace the same text in folder names in linux? Say I have "Photos_Jun", "Photos_July", "Photos_Aug", etc. whats the simplest way I can rename them like "Photos Jun", "Photos July", etc (basically I want to replace the underscore with a space " ". I have about 200 of these folders. I was looking at solution: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1836563/how-can-i-easily-bulk-rename-files-with-perl It looks like what im looking for however, I dont know how to make a regular expression to match folders that are alphanumeric followed by a "_". • jQuery: Highlight element under mouse cursor?

  I'm trying to create an "element picker" in jQuery, like Firebug has. Basically, I want to highlight the element underneath the user's mouse. Then I listen for the mouseover event on every element, then move the div so that it covers that element. Right now, this just makes the whole page go red as soon as you move your mouse over the page. How can I get this to work nicer? Edit: Pretty sure the problem is that as soon as my mouse touches the page, the body gets selected, and then as I move my mouse around, none of the moments get passed through the highligher because its overtop of everything.   HI, I started implementing a HTML Browser in Swing. I want to use the Lobo Cobra toolkit because this toolkit inclused a renderer and parser for CSS and JavaScript. The pages are looking very nice and it is easy to use (one class implementation to show a html page). I want to show HTML pages in swing which can show javascript generated and modified objects, like a flashing circle. As far as i know, the cobra toolkit can show static javascript commands like 'document.write' or closwWindow() implementations, but not updating the GUI from a JavaScript. Did someone works with Lobo Cobra Toolkit before and give me some sample code or tips for showing HTML pages with animated JavaScript objects inside.

  I am using JQuery Date picker, but it is too much heavy, the minified version of ui.datepicker.min.js is of 44 KB. the images of datepicker have their own weigh. the jquery framework is of 59 KB. and total images on page are of around 80 KB the total html of page is around 70 KB and the css file size is around 72 KB. and much more, and all the things go upto 600 KB. which is 0.6 MB. do you think user will wait for 600 KB to be downloaded in the browser? it may take upto 8 - 10 secs. and I dont think that user will wait for such long time. I want to keep my website light weight. is there any light weight javascript date picker.

• Accessing WebKit Devtools JavaScript library

  I noticed something in Chrome the other day- I had opened Developer Tools, and then hit view source and was initially surprised to notice that apparently the developer tools window is coded in HTML and JavaScript- you can see that by putting the following into the Chrome address bar: view-source:chrome://devtools/devtools.html Two things struck me- first, the codes copyright belongs to Apple (considering their backing of WebKit, thats not too surprising), and secondly, it appears that you cannot access the JavaScript, CSS or Image files directly through Chrome by clicking on links in the source code. So two questions: Where are the DevTools assets stored on my computer or how can I otherwise access them? Or even better, can someone identify the library that is used and let me know how its licensed? I'm always on the look out for a well implemented UI toolkit- and Devtools looks great.

  Hi I want to add some options to my magento, lets say i print on clothing, a customer buys some t-shirts, shirts and jackets from me, it totals to £60+ VAT on the checkout area where i signup and not before I need to add an option where I can add a text box and upload option, can i do this? I ideally then want to add some pricing options if the user has chosen to add some branding to a product or multiple products e.g. if the branding was on the top right of the shirt it will cost £5.00, if on the back it costs £7.00 etc all if possible to be done via the admincp. I also want an option so when they upload their logo for the first time they are charged a one off charge, like a setup fee but If the customer has allready sent in there logo then no charge applies. thanks Graham
