    Ein Großteil des Oracle Business wird von Partnern getragen. Damit das erfolgreich funktioniert, unterstützt Alliances & Channel die Partner mit gezielten Marketing-Aktionen. Wie zum Beispiel der Oracle Exadata Kampagne. Mit ausgewählten, spezialisierten Exadata-Partnern wurde die europaweit durchgeführten Demand Generation-Kampagne umgesetzt: Neben einem Emailing, das die jeweilige Exadata-Lösung des Partners im Fokus hatte, wurde für jeden Partner eine adaptierte Microsite erstellt und im Anschluss von der Marketingagentur nachtelefoniert. Die daraus entstandenen Leads potenzieller Kunden wurden dann an die Partner zurückgegeben, um den Vertriebsprozess zu starten. Die beiden deutschen Teilnehmer der Kampagne, inforsacom und ISE, berichten in der aktuellen Ausgabe von Partner Insight ausführlich über Ihre Erfahrungen und Erfolge der Exadata Kampagne.

  • JDK 8u20 Documentation Updates

    JDK 8u20 has been released and is available from the Java Downloads page. See the JDK 8u20 Update Release Notes for details. Highlights for this release: The Medium security level has been removed. Now only High and Very High levels are available. Applets that do not conform with the latest security practices can still be authorized to run by adding the sites that host them to the Exception Site List. See Security for more information. The javafxpackager tool has been renamed to javapackager, and supports both Java and JavaFX applications. The -B option has been added to the javapackager deploy command to enable arguments to be passed to the bundlers that are used to create self-contained applications. See javapackager for Windows or Linux and OS X for information. The <fx:bundleArgument> helper parameter argument has been added to enable arguments to be passed to the bundlers when using ant tasks. See JavaFX Ant Task Reference for more information. A new attribute is available for JAR file manifests. The Entry-Point attribute is used to identify the classes that are allowed to be used as entry points to your application. See Entry-Point Attribute for more information. A new Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) Enterprise JRE Installer, which enables users to install the JRE across the enterprise, is available for Java SE Advanced or Java SE Suite licensees.   • Exadata, Exalogic and Exalytics Partner Demo Equipment Purchase Initiative

    Oracle is pleased to announce that as part of the Demo Equipment Purchase Program, until December 31, 2012, Oracle VADs may purchase Exadata, Exalogic and Exalytics configurations, for their own demonstration purposes or to distribute to a partner for the partner's demonstration use, at 25% off the list price. In addition, purchasing partners will be eligible to receive 10% of list price (excluding support) in MDF funds to support the partner's Exadata/Exalogic/Exalytics demand generation activities. New units must be used for demo purposes for a minimum of 6 months before they may be resold to an end user. For more info, visit the VAD Resource center here.

    Two new Java ME related JSRs were submitted to the JCP program office this week and are now available for review. JSR 360, Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) 8, has been submitted by Oracle for JSR Review.  This review period is open until 15 October.  The ME EC will vote on the JSR Approval Ballot 16-29 October. JSR 361 Java ME Embedded Profile, has been submitted by Oracle for JSR Review. This review period is open until 15 October.  The ME EC will vote on the JSR Approval Ballot 16-29 October.

  • GlassFish Community Event @ JavaOne - Save the date!

    The interest for having a GlassFish community event at JavaOne is still very strong both inside Oracle and in the community, so this year again we'll be hosting a get together on the Sunday prior to the main event. If you're in town and attending JavaOne, mark your calendars : Sunday 2nd, October 2011 - 12:30pm-4:30pm in the Moscone This will be an opportunity to discuss the community status (adoption of Java EE 6, GlassFish 3.1.x) and hear about future plans, mainly around Java EE 7 and the related GlassFish release(s). We'd also like to have several participants share their deployment stories as well as some time for an free-form unconference format and some team building activity. Of course, beyond all the content shared in slides, this should really also be a good excuse to meet folks from the community and from the core GlassFish team at Oracle. Here's a post on last year's event. And before anybody asks, we are still exploring the party situation :-)
