  • Apache and linux file permissions can't browse file or directories

    I just copied my magento site over to a local server running CentOS 5.4. The browser said it can't locate the location of the stylesheets. The stylesheets are within /skin/frontend/my_new_interface/design2/css. I tried to view in the browser and I can't view any of the files within the css directory. I verified a million times that I'm typing in the correct location. I can view files within /skin/frontend/my_new_interface/design2. Can't browse directories within browser however. I typed in ls -l css and get: -rwxr-xr-x 1 apache apache listed for all the files I tried chmod -R 755 and the directories I changed the apache conf Options Indexes But still when I browse the directories I get Forbidden. However, in another fresh installation of magento in the same www dir, I am able to browse directories. As far as I can tell both installations have same ownership and permissions. I also tried find . -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \; find . -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \; which was recommended in the magento wiki I've just run out of ideas.

  • Loading specific files from arbitrary directories?

    I want to load foo.txt. foo.txt might exist in the data/bar/ directory, or it might exist in the data/New Folder/ directory. There might be a different foo.txt in both of these directories, in which case I would want to either load one and ignore the other according to some order that I've sorted the directories by (perhaps manually, perhaps by date of creation), or else load them both and combine the results somehow. The latter (combining the results of both/all foo.txt files) is circumstantial and beyond the scope of this question, but something I want to be able to do in the future. I'm using SDL and boost::filesystem. I want to keep my list of dependencies as small as possible, and as cross-platform as possible. I'm guessing that my best bet would be to get a list of every directory (within the data/ folder), sort/filter this list, then when I go to load foo.txt, I search for it in each potential directory? This sounds like it would be very inefficient, if I have dozens of potential directories to search through every time. What's the best way to go about accomplishing this? Bonus: What if I want some of the directories to be archives? ie. considering both data/foo/ and data/bar.zip to both be valid, and pull foobar.txt from either one without caring.

  • MacOS X 10.6 Portable Home Directory sync fails due to FileSync agent crashing

    On one of our cleanly installed MacPro machines running MacOS X 10.6.6 connected to our MacOS X 10.6.6 Server, syncing data using Portable Home Directories fails. It seems to be due to the filesync agent crashing during the home sync. We get -41 and -8026 errors, which we are suspecting are indicating that there is too much data or filesync agent can't read the files.   • Location of my own directories

    Hello, I am trying to understand how to create my own directory tree and access it from my application. I am doing some kind of learning program and want to create a directory structure like this: -MyLessonsDirectory --LessonDirectory_1 ---Step_1 ---Step_2 ---Step_3 --LessonDirectory_2 ---Step_1 ---Step_2 ---Step_3 . . and so on In each "Step"-directory I will have specific content for that step of the lesson. The content is added by me while developing. Hence, I don't want to create the structure and content from within the application, just access it and reading the content of the directories. If I can create this kind of structure and use it it will be very easy to create a nice design that makes it easy to create new lessons in my app. What I cannot figure out is where I should create those directories in the file-structure in xCode and what is the path to those directories from my application.   • bash testing a group of directories for existence

    Have documents stored in a file system which includes "daily" directories, e.g. 20050610. In a bash script I want to list the files in a months worth of these directories. So I'm running a find command find <path>/200506* -type f >> jun2005.lst. Would like to check that this set of directories is not a null set before executing the find command. However, if I use if[ -d 200506* ] I get a "too many arguements error. How can I get around this?

    On a Unix system (or more specifically on OS X) is it possible to show hidden files in only some directories? For example as a developer I want to see the hidden files in my Rails projects but not on my desktop as well. I guess I'm just tired of seeing all these .DS_Store and .trashes files swimming around, any remedies not directly related are welcome too!

    On Linux systems, you can successfully chmod u+s $some_directory, but instead of forcing the ownership of new subdirectories and files to be the owner of the containing directory (and setting subdirectories u+s as well) as you might expect, the system just ignores the setuid bit. Subdirectories and files continue to inherit the UIDs of their creating processes, and subdirectories are not setuid by default. Why is setuid ignored on directories, and how can I get the system to recognize it?

    Hello, some files on Mac OS X (such as .bundle or .mpkg) are considered directories in Windows, but can be used as files on Mac OS X (if you double-click them on Mac OSX, they execute for example), so the problem I have is that I want Mac users to download a .mpkg file from my server, but the problem is IIS considers it a directory and therefore you can't download it. How can I let IIS treat this .mpkg as a file instead of a directory? Thanks!

  • 403 forbidden root on apache mac os x 10.7, but can access user directories

    When I access http://localhost/ I get 403 Forbidden, but if I access http://localhost/~username it serves up pages. Things I've tried: - checking error logs - swapping out with original httpd conf files - changing DocumentRoot to my user directory (after all that should work if I can access ~username) I've seen 30 plus Q&A sites that all point to people having trouble with user directories being forbidden. I have the opposite problem, and so I'm tearing my hair out here.

    We have a windows 2003 AD and are using Folder redirection to redirect the users My Documents to a share. Is there a way to save certain filetypes (*.mp3, *.avi) or folders (My Music, My Pictures) on the user's hard disk instead of saving on the netwerk share? I'm aware of the GPO setting 'Exclude directories in roaming profile' but I'm not sure if that will do what I want (we're using redirected folders)

When I click on the update directory, I get an access denied message, even though my account has admin privileges (XP Home).     I would like to create custom backup sets for Mozy which exclude certain directories. For example, I would like to backup my Itunes folder, but exclude all podcasts. I have created a backup set which searches in /Users/me/Music and used this query kMDItemPath == "*Podcasts*"wc to exclude all matching files. However, nothing matches. Queries which use the kMDItemFSName spotlight attribute work fine, but any query using kMDItemPath doesn't seem to work at all. What am I doing wrong?

  • Trying to move Users And Program Files Directories to Another Partition

    Currently I've Followed this guide. I pointed my C:\Users, C:\Program Files (x86), and C:\Program Files directories to their respective counterparts on the B: drive. I used mklink /J D:\Users B:\Users (D was the C: drives name in recovery) but when the computer boots, all I get is that the profile can't be loaded. I have to accomplish this, and don't really mind reinstalling as its a fresh install anyway.

    I'm trying to figure out how to use the linux "find" command (or another command that will get the job done) to return a list of file paths/directories that do not contain a directory of a certain name. ~/web/domain1.com/public_html/bar ~/web/domain2.com/public_html/ ~/web/domain3.com/public_html/bar ~/web/domain4.com/public_html/ I want all of the paths that don't contain the directory named "bar" (domain2.com and domain4.com). Any idea how I can get find to output such a list? Thanks!

    I'm doing a word search using the following command: find . -exec grep -q [some_word] '{}' \; -print -o -name .svn -prune -o -name .ssh -prune -o -name .boneyard -o -name log -prune -prune -o -name tmp -prune Is it possible to use a regex to exclude all hidden directories? Note: The current command traverses the entire tree from the current location and exclude those being pruned. The exclusion needs to work for any hidden directory regardless off location.
