• Invalid BOOT.INI (dual boot XP with 7)

  I had Windows XP x64 as my main system, and i also had a second partition with Windows XP x64. Both booted from first partition (C:) I then installed Windows 7 Ultimate on the first partition. I've added NTLDR using BCDRDIT. I've also copied NTLDR, NTDETECT.COM and BOOT.INI onto the drive where XP remained. However then i try to boot into Windows XP x64 i get Invalid BOOT.INI file Booting from c:\windows\ NTDETECT failed I found instructions on how to fix it using a boot disk, however the partitions are on a software RAID. I've tried to boot from a customized XP CD with the drivers, however it does not offer me a Repair option for some reason - just setup. • vqadmin "invalid language file" with google chrome

  We have been running our qmail setup for awhile with no issues. One of our admins has moved to Google Chrome as his main browser and we have noticed something odd. No matter what, when he loads the vqadmin page it errors on him with simply invalid language file. Yet if he loads Firefox, Opera, Safari or shudders IE8 it works fine. Searching google only results in 'Use IE' or 'Set english as your language in the browser'. A: I try to have people avoid IE if possible and B: There is no english option in Chrome.

  There's a fairly complex application than runs on two VMs (on Xen). Both VMs run CentOS 6.2 with the exact same packages and configuration for every application running (minus networking which is different). SELinux is disabled on both. On machine A the application builds perfectly. On machine B when running some tests we get: ruby[2010] trap invalid opcode ip:7ff9d2944c30 sp:7fff9797e0f8 error:0 in ld-2.12.so[7ff9d2930000+20000] Digging a bit more to find out where the machines differ, machine A has: model name : Six-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2423 HE and machine B: model name : AMD Opteron(TM) Processor 6272 I've tried booting machine B with cpuid_mask_cpu=fam_10_rev_c in grub but it did not help either. So any advice as to how to deal with this, or how to approach the hosting provider so as to run this VM on another physical machine will be greatly appreciated.

  I have a j2ee application hosted on jboss and linux platform. When I try to access the application , I see following error in server.log file. I tried to go through few forum and found that the NLS parameter settings are fine. Can anyone help. • Heroku SSL: Pem is invalid / Key doesn't match the Pem certificate

  I bought a Gandi.net SSL certificate and I'm following this tutorial. I created the key file. then transformed it to CSR then added it to Gandi website and waited for the CRT. then removed the password from the key === result : [FINAL KEY] then merged the CRT and the FINAL KEY into one file == result : [FINAL PEM] then heroku ssl:add final_pem final_key --app app_name and... got Pem is invalid / Key doesn't match the Pem certificate. I tried 3 times and I really don't know what's going one. Can you help ?

• Reinstalled Windows XP Home, shows as XP Pro, 'invalid' errors

  We reinstalled Windows XP Home after hard drive crash. The system now shows as XP Pro and we're constantly getting 'invalid software' popups, images show in solid black. We called Microsoft, they said the serial number is valid etc. We're assuming that the pop ups are because that it is now XP Pro instead of Home. Or could it be something else? Or how can we determine what the issue is in order to correct it? Thanks for any advice on this. jb

  I have a working exim setup with virtual users, working alright, except for when I try to send email to certain servers. These servers reject my emails because of #5.1.3 Invalid character ('@') in username. The offending header parts seem to be: Return-path: <"[email protected]"@smtp.example.com> and ...(envelope-from <"[email protected]"@smtp.example.com>)... The problem is that I cannot find where and why the usernames are being generated like this. My router for submission is: dnslookup: driver = dnslookup domains = ! +local_domains transport = remote_smtp ignore_target_hosts = 0.0.0.0 : 127.0.0.0/8 no_more And the respective transport: remote_smtp: driver = smtp What can be producing this problem?

• Synaptics/usb mouse drivers data is invalid on win server 2003

  Have just installed windows server 2003 image onto an HP laptop. Cannot get the mouse drivers to work. Have the correct drivers because I've extracted them out of a working PC (exact same model). I am always getting "Data is invalid". This is the synaptics touchpad drivers. Does anyone know how to fix this/ workaround to get mouse working? I have heard it may have something to do with permissions in the registry?

• dhclient configures /etc/resolv.conf with invalid entry

  I'm trying to figure out why running dhclient on my interface sets /etc/resolv conf to the ip number of my gateway(router). This entry is invalid and each and every time causes inability to resolve any address. I would like to: stop dhclient from overwriting the /etc/resolv.conf or make dhclient write there the valid dns ip from my router More on the environment: I'm using virtual Debian Wheezy as a client system on Windows Seven x64. It is run by Virtualbox with networking mode set to bridged (all packets from debian are injected to my network interface on windows). If I manually configure the /etc/resolv.conf then everything works fine. Doing this on every boot is quite annoying.. PS I know I can write a script to do it for me, but this is not the solution I want. //edit router ip: 192.168.1.100 /etc/resolv.conf AFTER running dhclient eth0: "nameserver 192.168.1.100" what I would like the /etc/resolv.conf to look like: "nameserver 89.202.xxxx" (I don't have to provide the real ip do I? )

• iMac invalid memory access and then crash?

  My iMac G5 from a few years ago (the square white one) dies now, with a message about an invalid memory access. It goes straight to an Open Firmware prompt and doesn't even load the Mac OS at all. Am I correct in guessing that the memory is probably the issue, and that if I replace it, we may be able to boot again as normal? That's my gut feeling anyway, so I ordered some more memory and plan to swap it today. Any thoughts? Ideas?

• Group policy results failing with "Invalid class" error

  When trying to run the Group Policy Results Wizard against a specific workstation, I'm getting the following error: The wizard was unable to generate the computer or user's data due to insufficient permissions. Details: Invalid class I'm guessing that the class being referred to is a WMI class, but I haven't gotten much farther. I've run sfc /scannow on the machine with no luck. I've also followed all of the recommendations in this article: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/repairwmi.htm. I cannot find anything useful in the event logs and I can't think of anywhere else I could look to find out what's really happening here. Any help would be appreciated.

• Send one invalid email response to sender

  I discovered that my postfix/dovecot configuration isn't rejecting emails. If a person sends an email to an invalid email-address, it just drops it. I am fine with this behavior since I think it discourages spammers from mining emails (I have had some success). Recently a person I did not want to talk to emailed an address I cut off and didn't receive a response back. It would have saved me some problems if they knew to call me instead of sending 50+ emails. How would I configure Dovecot/postfix to send a message back to a sender of an email address and then limit this 1 per domain or unique email. The User::Create and Firewall lines are just realizing a user and 2 firewall rules. I have verified that the /var/lib/puppet/lib/puppet/type/a2mod.rb type has the identifier parameter and it is the same MD5 as the server. I am using Puppet 3.0.1 on both agent and master. Any idea what may cause this?

  About three days ago, I noticed the exim mailqueue started filling up on one of my servers, and upon inspecting some of the emails using # exim -Mvb $ID, I noticed they were being sent to some system email address (which is not a real address), and the body of the messages were as follows: (process:8259): Pango-WARNING **: Invalid UTF-8 string passed to pango_layout_set_text() I'm wondering what could be causing this strange issue, as I've never heard of 'pango' at all... I've never seen that function used in my lifetime! It seems the process id (PID) is for an apache process, though, as the pids are always gone by the time I use # ps -aux to look them up. • SVN help:: svn: invalid option: --trust-server-cert

  Hi, I want to bypass certificate checking. I tried using svn --trust-server-cert update, but I get an error, svn: invalid option: --trust-server-cert. I am on ubuntu and the svn version is 1.5.4. Is there any other way to bypass the certificate? Ubuntu won't automatically update my svn to 1.6.xx, which I think has this option. (In any case, I have heard that 1.6.xx has compatibility problems with some apache modules so is not fully safe to install?). Anyone with a suggestion? Thanks JP

• Bad request - Invalid Hostname Error when using ARR IP address

  I'm trying to setup a simple ARR system. I have 1 ARR machine load balancing between 2 APP servers. I can reach the app sites if i use the server name of the ARR machine. (http://arrserver/app) But i can't do it with its IP address. (http://10.7.10.25/app). It gives the "Bad Request - Invalid Hostname". In the ARR machine i configured the default site's bindings to "All Unassigned","80" (default values). Do i need to change the binding rule or need additional url rewrite rules? And also, in the ARR server http://127.0.0.1/app doesn't work. But http://localhost/app works fine. Thx in advance

• LAN connection suddenly domain_not_set.invalid

  I went to work today - internet fine as always. Came back, dreaded yellow triangle. I can connect wirelessly like i am now on my tablet. Thats completely fine. But through LAN I get the domain_not_set.Invalid message if I renew my IP for example. It seems I just don't have a DNS. But I have literally not touched anything no ones even been in the house. Hows that happen? Any help on why only wireless works would be great, I am gonna buy a wireless adapter tomorrow for the interim but I would like to know why. Thanks.

  Very strange problem here: openssl successfully creates signatures but only those created as root are valid whereas created by another user (www-data) are invalid!   I have a problem with Disk Utility on Mac OS X 10.6. I have an image of Windows that I would like to use as a bootable volume on a pen drive or external hard drive. The thing is: When I try to restore the volume from the image I get an error: "Restore Failure: Could not validate resource - Invalid Argument" I read some information about that error on the Internet. I converted the image into .iso (Mac OS Extended/ISO (Joliet) Hybrid Image) format and then got this error: "Restore Failure: Could not find any scan information. The source image needs to be imagescanned before it can be restored." When I try to scan the image for Restore, I get the first message. I really read a lot of information about this topic on the Internet, but I haven't found the solution. I tried both ISO and DMG formats; I don't know which is best.

• -ssadd is invalid when setting up Sessions on SQL Server 2005

  I have a dev and QA environment with SQL 2005 EE on dev and SQL 2000 on QA. On QA I run aspnet_regsql –ssadd –sstype t -E in command line and it works fine. I run the same command on dev and it returns "'-ssadd' is invalid". The working directory for both is C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727. I found some info on MSDN that said that SQL Express Edit. required a script to run before -ssadd will work, but this script didn't help me. I'm not sure where to go from here.
