I have a normal web service. Many java and .net users are accessing it. Can I update it to wcf without anyone having to change their code? Any tutorials?
I'm looking for an example of a java desktop application that consumes a Two-way SSL secured web service. Any tutorials or examples would be great, especially if they are based on the Eclipse IDE.
Thanks.
Yes, I know, most of you are thinking I'm an idiot, butt (kidding) I'm not. I've been searching everywhere for something on how to fully make a navigation-based iphone app, but all I've found is how to set up table views or navigation controllers. I haven't found anything on how to create a data model (something simple from arrays and dictionaries, SQLite and CoreData are a bit out of my scope) or navigate it. Does anyone know of any tutorials or anything like that? Thanks.
Hi All,
I'm a bit confused by a few tutorials that I read about the ListView.
I have a ListView control and on the left hand side should be a name, and to the right of that name should be like another column with some more text in it. For example:
ListView:
jason blah blah blah
item2 more blahs
item3 jupiter
item4 uranus
How can this be done? Is there a simple way of doing this?
Thank you
Hi, I basically started today with WPF, and I'm astounded by how difficult it is to do binding. I have an array of Textboxes, in an ObservableCollection, and just want to bind that in my Listbox, so that they arrange themselves vertically.
I have fiddled around with this for 3 already, can you help?
I'm working in a Wpf "UserControl", not a window as so many tutorials seem to rely on.
I need to play a sound of a ball rolling and change the sound based on the ball's speed. I was using AVFoundation and just playing different samples but that didn't sound natural enough. I tried OpenAL and something like:
alSourcef(sourceID, AL_PITCH, thePitch);
and passing in thePitch, but didn't like the results.
Does anyone have any suggestions or examples / tutorials?
Thanks.
Here's an excerpt from Sun's Java tutorials:
A switch works with the byte, short, char, and int primitive data types. It also works with enumerated types (discussed in Classes and Inheritance) and a few special classes that "wrap" certain primitive types: Character, Byte, Short, and Integer (discussed in Simple Data Objects ).
There must be a good reason why the long primitive data type is not allowed. Anyone know what it is?
I've just started to use netbeans IDE 6.8. And consulted youtube for tutorials. And I've seen that the code is being completed just like in dreamweaver. Whenever you type something. And it shows some suggestions on what probably would be the next code.
But when I tried it on my computer. It does not do this. How do I configure it?

I'm just diving into ruby development for a class assignment and the machines at my Uni have only got ruby 1.8.7 on them so I need to develop for that. I have found tutorials on the web for ruby = 1.9 and rspec that are really good but I haven't found anything for ruby 1.8.7 (I'm guessing it's pretty dated?). Does anyone have anything using rspec testing and has an indepth discussion on ruby 1.8.7 for me? I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks!
I'm doing a tic tac toe game and I am trying to add a combo box that will change the applications background based on what the person selects right now I have summer, spring, fall, winter and the images are in the bin/debug folder how can I get this to work I don't know where to start and the tutorials are a bit confusing. Could you please help me
according to some tutorials i read a while back, the "const" declaration makes a variable "constant" ie it cannot change later.
But i find this const declaration abit inconveniencing since the compiler sometimes gives errors like
"cannot convert const int to int"
or something like that.
and i find myself cheating by removing it anyway.
question:
assuming that i am careful about not changing a variable in my source code, can i happily forget about this const stuff?
Thanks in advance
I'm developing a reader app for viewing and highlighting proprietary format documents. The documents are 2D. (Might add some cool page flip effects) The interface is similar to that of mobile safari. I have no prior experience with iOS development. Could you guys point me to the right direction? (Things I need to consider, tutorials, sample projects...) THX

i wonder if there are tutorials that go through the syntax differences for ruby and python?
i have seen a comparison between ruby and php but not between ruby and python.
i have looked at both ruby and python but it would be very useful with this side-by-side comparison for deciding which one to choose.
thanks
I want to write extensions for Mercurial. What are good resources such as tutorials, guides, API reference or maybe even a existing extension that is well commented and easy to lean from the source.
So far, I have only found the short MercurialApi and WritingExtensions wiki pages.
Can someone point me to a decent RPC tutorial for (or books) linux, like in this post. I tried looking around myself, I've only found tutorials that are really old.
Thanks
I need a shell script that deletes 1000 rows from a massive database until it is done.
It is very simple, but i am very weak in shell scripting, and the many tutorials online offer extremely similar, but different nuances in syntax
Hi,
I have been asked to create a wheel for navigation similar to on the Visit Provence website. However, I don't know where to start and my Googling effort have been unsuccessful - I guess that I am searching using the wrong terms.
It the the way that the wheel moves and interacts with the other segments around it that interests me.
I'd really appreciate any tutorials / help that anyone can share.
Very often I hear: use a profiler and unit test. How do I do that? I would be glad if someone would provide either links to websites with tutorials or recommend a good book. I'm using Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate.
I'd like to dynamically be able to host client's domains, with just having to provide them instructions like this: http://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/custom_domains
I'm running a pretty typical LAMP stack; any good tutorials for configuring this on both the Apache and PHP side?
I'd like to build an MSI installer that installs a managed DLL and makes it accessible to users from Visual Studio's "Add References" menu in Solution Explorer. I believe I am supposed to add a key into the Windows registry but I cannot see how to tell the VS project for the MSI to do this at install.
How is this done and where should I look for tutorials on this kind of thing?
I'm getting started with a side project that will be developed using PHP and I'm looking for guidance on getting my Windows machine up and running and ready for development (as quickly as possible). Being that PHP development is more geared towards Linux users/developers (which I am not), I'm trying to figure out how to get all the pieces in place to get a 'WAMP' stack operational locally on my Windows machine.
Any good tutorials/quick start guides out there and if not, does someone have all the steps that they could provide me with here?
I have a url of a video.I want to segment it using mediastreamsegmenter in the mac.how can i do that.Any step by step tutorials will be more helpful.Thanks.
