  • Same network same switch but computers can't talk "ping"to eachother [closed]

    Possible Duplicate: How does IPv4 Subnetting Work? Each computer(all 2 of them) can ping the router but can't ping each-other and firewall is off. Same default gateway, IP address very similar (just two number away at end) but the subnet mask is different between these two computers. One ends in 192 the other 224. There is a switch between them that then connects to the router. Why can't the computers ping each-other?

    From the first look, it seems that the onscreen keyboard in Windows 8 cannot be moved from its default position at the bottom of the screen: However, sometimes it obstructs the input field and should be repositioned (see iOS 5's screenshots for examples) So the question is, can it actually move? If it can, how can I do that? If it cannot, is it possible to use the keyboard to fill an input field that is underneath it?

  • Recompile PHP5.3 with mysqlnd on Debian Squeeze?

    My current PHP5.3 installation was compiled with libmysql by default. To run certain mysqli functions, I need the mysqlnd library, but I can't seem to find a step by step guide giving proper description how to recompile PHP 5.3 on Debian 6 with custom settings. All I found was the configuration parameter on the PHP.net manual (http://php.net/manual/en/mysqlinfo.library.choosing.php) saying that this is a compile time decision: $ ./configure --with-mysqli=mysqlnd --with-pdo-mysql=mysqlnd --with-mysql=mysqlnd Any ideas how to do it?   • Fix static ip address problems in Ubuntu 10.04

    I used Network Manager in Ubuntu 10.04 to set a static ip address and assigned one that was already in use. Now my computer will not boot (nfs crashes). I booted from a live cd to change the configuration on the file system in /etc/network/interfaces but the file looks to be the default. Where does the network manager (the gui from system- preferences) store it's configuration so I can overwrite it and enter the correct ip addresss and have a happy working computer again. thanks!!

But when archiving a folder containing already compressed files, there is no need to compress them a second time, such as archives, packed setup program, jpg, movies, mp3,.... Are there any compression programs that allow an arbitrary list of type of files to be stored while the others are still compressed ? It looks like Winrar can't.     I have a GeForce GT 640 video card, but by default the screen flickers badly. And if I change the refresh rate to 59 Hz in NVIDIA Control Panel manually, everything is OK. I don't know why. Now the problem is, if the system restarts, the refresh rate become 60Hz, then the screen flicker is flickering. I need to change the refresh rate again. Can I keep the refresh rate to 59 Hz? Or it would be better if the screen doesn't flicker at 60 Hz.

However after setting up munin to monitor APC, I'm surprised by the results: apc.shm_size: 30 apc.gc_ttl: 3600 apc.ttl: 0 Used: 14MB Request rate: 100 requests/second Fragmentation: 0 Hit ratio: 80% (dropping to 0 a few times per hour) So the obvious question: how can I adapt the configuration to achieve a higher hitrate. I find it very strange that the available memory is not fully used which the hitratio is still below what I would expect. Thank for any hints!

  • new PC not work with existing router, but works fine when directly connecting to cable modem

    I bought a new desktop PC (eMachine ET1331G-03W from WalMart) with windows 7 installed, but I can not access internet by connecting to my existing wireless router(LinkSys BEFW11S4) with wired cable. Though all other existing desktops and laptops have no problem connecting to the same router. However, the new desktop PC works fine and able to connect to internet if I bypass the router and directly hook up with the cable modem. At new PC when connecting to the router, I got the below information by typing ipconfig, the IP address looks wrong to me: autoconfiguration IPv4 Address: 169.254.71.140 subnet mask: 255.255.0.0 default gateway: (empty) NetBIOS over Tcpip: Enabled Typing ipconfig at all other desktop and laptop have values like below, which are good to me: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.140 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 The wireless router was on 192.168.1.1, I do not know why the new desktop got 169.254.71.140 IP? It should have something like 192.168.1.xxx, and it was configured to automatically get IP by DHCP. I have tried to switch cables,power off cable modem, router and reboot new pc many times and got no luck. So I believe this is only an issue related to router or new pc configuration. Can someone help me figure out the issue?

  • Recreate/Regenerate vhost config in cpanel for one account

    So my boss as allways was messing with cpanel on our production server (we only have production servers, which is bad enough)... so now all of the accounts is pointing to the default apache page in /usr/local/apache/htdocs instead of /home/useracc/public_html. Is there a way how to tell cpanel/WHM to recreate the vhost configuration of the account from scratch? the account has a database and emails associated with them so before i do anything i don't want to mess anything up with cpanel.
