• Create a dataset: extract features from text documents (TF-IDF)

  I've to create a dataset from some text files, writing them as vectors of features. Something like this: doc1: 1,0.45 6,0.001 94,0.1 ... doc2: 3,0.5 98,0.2 ... ... each position of the vector represent a word, and the score is given by something like TF-IDF. Do you know some library/tool/whatever for this? (java is better)

  I cannot see this behavior in JBoss 4.2.3. If I try to call addCookie() on HttpServletResponse and my cookie value has accented characters in it (ex. ç) I get this exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Control character in cookie value, consider BASE64 encoding your value Does anyone know what change in JBoss 5.1.0 could be causing these problems?

• Lucene unexpectedly gives different results when operator of search words changes

  I am using Lucene with Java. In the index I have a single document with a single name:value-field text:alabama oklahoma When I search for +alabama -oklahoma it returns no results, as expected. However, when I search for -alabama +oklahoma it returns the single document as a match to the query. Has anyone else noticed this behaviour? Any ideas on why this happens?

  My Understanding Static block is executed during class loading, If a class is already loaded then there is no way to load the class other than class reloading Doubt/Question 1) Is there any time JVM reloads the class? These calculations may be actually applied to integers too, but there are no C++-like templates in Java and I don't want to duplicate the implementation code, so I simply use "double" version for ints. Does JVM spec guarantees the correctness of integer operations such a <=,=, +, -, *, and / (in case of remainder==0) when the operations are emulated as corresponding floating point ops?
