  Currently I have a jumbotron setup with some paragraph text, and I would like to stick a button dropdown inline with the text. If it is outside of the <p> tag it functions fine, but I would like it to be inline with the text and need the text to be in the <p> tag to get the style. Any ideas? Things to note -- If I replace the <span> tags with <div> tags, it will work fine within the <p> tags, but won't be inline.

  I'm relatively new to Java and am used to generics in C# so have struggled a bit with this code. Basically I want a generic method for getting a stored Android preference by key and this code, albeit ugly, works for a Boolean but not an Integer, when it blows up with a ClassCastException. A calculation is performed to return their distance from the users current location based on the latitude/longitude. I would like to return only the record with the shortest calculated distance.   I'm having difficulty modifying a script for this situation and wondering if someone maybe able to help: I have an address table and a phone table both sharing the same column called id_number. So id_number = 2 on both tables refers to the same entity. Address and phone information used to be stored in one table (the address table) but it is now split into address and phone tables since we moved to Oracle 11g. There is a 3rd table called both_ids. This table also has an id_number column in addition to an other_ids column storing SSN and some other ids.   Hi everyone! I have a simple web testing application which is supposed to open and close several popups by itself (without user interaction). For this purpose i have a javascript function to access the variable where the popup reference is stored and close it if it´s not null, fairly simple. However I get random errors in IE (in FF it works as expected, all popups are closed correctly) like Message: No such interface supported Line: 86 Char: 3 Code: 0 URI: http://10.10.0.61:10000/savmailer/adm/tests/common_tests_code.js and Message: Permission denied Line: 86 Char: 3 Code: 0 URI: http://10.10.0.61:10000/savmailer/adm/tests/common_tests_code.js The line 86 references exactly the point at which I do popup.close(); in the following function function closePopupWindow(popup){ if (popup != null) { popup.close(); popup = null; } } I have googled and it seems this permission denied error is quite common to come through among IE developers, however there´s no clear solution for it, it´s just a matter of changing the code slightly "to please" IE, so to speak. However i have no idea how to change mine since it´s just 3 lines! Tried also to change the security browser settings by adding my domain to the trusted zone, but nothing, doesn't help either. • How to break out from nested doseqs

  Hi, I have a question regarding nested doseq loops. In the start function, once I find an answer I set the atom to true, so that the outer loop validation with :while fails. However it seems that it doesn't break it, and the loops keep on going. What's wrong with it? I am also quite confused with the usage of atoms, refs, agents (Why do they have different names for the update functions when then the mechanism is almost the same?) etc. Is it okay to use an atom in this situation as a flag?   I'm currently writing this jquery and for some reason (I don't know why) it works on the normal domain, but on the parked domain it doesn't.   I know this subject has been beaten to death but after searching for a few hours to this problem I had to ask. My Problem: do calculations on dates on a server based on the current time zone of a client app (iphone). The client app tells the server, in seconds, how far away its time zone is away from GMT. I would like to then use this information to do computation on dates in the server. The dates on the server are all stored as UTC time. So I would like to get the HOUR of a UTC Date object after it has been converted to this local time zone. My current attempt: int hours = (int) Math.floor(secondsFromGMT / (60.0 * 60.0)); int mins = (int) Math.floor((secondsFromGMT - (hours * 60.0 * 60.0)) / 60.0); String sign = hours > 0 ? "+" : "-"; Calendar now = Calendar.getInstance(); TimeZone t = TimeZone.getTimeZone("GMT" + sign + hours + ":" + mins); now.setTimeZone(t); now.setTime(someDateTimeObject); int hourOfDay = now.get(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY); The variables hour and mins represent the hour and mins the local time zone is away from GMT. After debugging this code - the variables hour, mins and sign are correct. The problem is hourOfDay does not return the correct hour - it is returning the hour as of UTC time and not local time. Ideas?

  I have an ASPX page (with VB Codebehind). I would like to extend the GridView class to show the header / footer when no rows are returned. I found a C# example online (link) (source). However, I cannot convert it to VB because it uses typed events (which are not legal in VB). I have tried several free C# to VB.NET converters online, but none have worked. Please convert the example to VB.NET or provide an alternate method of extending the GridView class.   Hello all, I need some help with a SQL query. Here is what I need to do. I'm lost on a few aspects as outlined below. I've four relevant tables: Table A has the price per unit for all resources. I can look up the price using a resource id. Table B has the funds available to a given user. Table C has the resource production information for a given user (including the number of units to produce everyday). Table D has the number of units ever produced by any given user (can be identified by user id and resource id) Having said that, I need to run a batch job on a nightly basis to do the following: a. for all users, identify whether they have the funds needed to produce the number of resources specified in table C and deduct the funds if they are available from table B (calculating the cost using table A). b. start the process to produce resources and after the resource production is complete, update table D using values from table C after the resource product is complete. I figured the second part can be done by using an UPDATE with a subquery. However, I'm not sure how I should go about doing part a. I can only think of using a cursor to fetch each row, examine and update. Is there a single sql statement that will help me avoid having to process each row manually? Additionally, if any rows weren't updated, the part b. SQL should not produce resources for that user. Basically, I'm attempting to modify the sql being used for this logic that currently is in a stored procedure to something that will run a lot faster (and won't process each row separately). • Holding variables in memory, C++

  Today something strange came to my mind. When I want to hold some string in C (C++) the old way, without using string header, I just create array and store that string into it. But, I read that any variable definition in C in local scope of function ends up in pushing these values onto the stack. So, the string is actually 2* bigger than needed. Because first, the push instructions are located in memory, but then when they are executed (pushed onto the stack) another "copy" of the string is created. First the push instructions, than the stack space is used for one string. So, why is it this way? Why doesn't compiler just add the string (or other variables) to the program instead of creating them once again when executed? Yes, I know you cannot just have some data inside program block, but it could just be attached to the end of the program, with some jump instruction before. And than, we would just point to these data? Because they are stored in RAM when the program is executed. Thanks.

  So, I use jQuery quite extensively and I am well aware of the "right" way to do the below, but there are times where I want to solve it in a more generic way. I'll explain. So, I may have a link, like this: <a href='menu' class='popup'>Show menu</a>. Now, I have a jQuery function that fires on click for all a.popup that takes the href-attribute and shows the <div id='menu'></div> item (in this case). It also handles URL's if it can't find a DOM item with that ID. No problem here. But, there are times when I don't have the same control over the coe where I can create a selectable target that way. Either because the code isn't created by me or because it is created through a chain of function that would all need a huge ovrhaul which I won't do. So, from time to time, I would like to have this code: <a href="javascript:popup('menu')">Show menu</a> This would be in a case where I can only submit the label and the HREF for a link. No class, no nothing. Problem here is that the function popup() has no idea about what element invoked it, and in most cases that's not a problem for me, since I only need to know where the mouse cursor was upon invokation. But in some cases, I use someone elses jQuery functions, like qTip or something else. so I still want to fire off qTip(); when clicking a link that runs this JS function, but what do I attach it to to make it show? I can't just runt $().qTip(); because that implies $(this) and "this" is undefined inside the function. So how do I do it? Any ideas?

  Hello, Let's imagine that we have high traffic project (a tube site) which should provide sorting using this options (NOT IN REAL TIME). Number of videos is about 200K and all information about videos is stored in MySQL. Number of daily video views is about 1.5KK. As instruments we have Hard Disk Drive (text files), MySQL, Redis. Views top viewed top viewed last 24 hours top viewed last 7 days top viewed last 30 days top rated last 365 days How should I store such information? The first idea is to log all visits to text files (single file per hour, for example visits_20080101_00.log). At the beginning of each hour calculate views per video for previous hour and insert this information into MySQL. Then recalculate totals (for last 24 hours) and update statistics in tables. At the beginning of every day we have to do the same but recalculate for last 7 days, last 30 days, last 365 days. This method seems to be very poor for me because we have to store information about last 365 days for each video to make correct calculations. Is there any other good methods? Probably, we have to choose another instruments for this? Thank you.

• AIX 6.1 unable to build apache module

  In Aix 6.1/ Apache version 2.2.8 packaged as part of IBM WebSphere. We should have had mod_dumpio for this version but for some reasons IBM did not include it. So we are trying to build this module(in few many ways) but none of them worked. 1) Using apxs:- Failed with the "xlc_r" not found as compile option for libtool. So based on an article online, we changed to "gcc" and we have to remove -qmaxmem and -qHALT to make it work. Result we see a .lo created but LoadModule fails(unable to find .loader section). 2) Using gcc:- Command "gcc -fpic -DSHARED_MODULE -I -c mod_dumpio.c" After running this command, we can see .o file created and then we tried to execute "ld -Bshareable -o mod_dumpio.so mod_dumpio.o" whereas AIX complaining about -Bshareable so we tried using this command "gcc -shared -I -o mod_dumpio.so mod_dumpio.o" whereas the error was "libgcc_s" not found. Then we added -static-libgcc to the above command and it was not resolving .h file functions (Unknown symbols). From IBM AIX site, libgcc_s costs around $2k. We think our second approach may work but we dont know how to instruct gcc to look for .h files while building .so from .o. Any help is appreciated.

  I am trying to resolve a design difference of opinion where neither of us has experience with JMS. We want to use JMS to communicate between a j2ee application and the stand-alone application when a new event occurs. We would be using a single point-to-point queue. Both sides are Java-based. The question is whether to send the event data itself in the JMS message body or to send a pointer to the data so that the stand-alone program can retrieve it. Details below. I have a j2ee application that supports data entry of new and updated persons and related events. The person records and associated events are written to an Oracle database. There are also stand-alone, separate programs that contribute new person and event records to the database. When a new event occurs through any of 5-10 different application functions, I need to notify remote systems through an outbound interface using an industry-specific standard messaging protocol. The outbound interface has been designed as a stand-alone application to support scalability through asynchronous operation and by moving it to a separate server. The j2ee application currently has most of the data in memory at the time the event is entered. The data would consist of approximately 6 different objects; a person object and some with multiple instances for an average size in the range of 3000 to 20,000 bytes. Some special cases could be many times this amount. From a performance and reliability perspective, should I model the JMS message to pass all the data needed to create the interface message, or model the JMS message to contain record keys for the data and have the stand-alone Java application retrieve the data to create the interface message?

  I am writing a shooting game in cocos2d. And each enemy enters the screen after the current one is dead. I have stores the enemies and their properties in plist. I need to save the current state of the game. If any phone call comes the game should be started from the current state. So, I usedNsUserDefaults in this way, - (void) applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication*)application { ... NSUserDefaults *myDefaultOptions = [[myDefaultOptions stringForKey:@"enemyNumber"]intValue] ; //tempCount4 is the current Enemy number. It was declared in another class. I am using extern and using the value here. tempCount4 = [[myDefaultOptions stringForKey:@"enemyNumber"]intValue] ; } - (void)applicationWillTerminate:(UIApplication *)application { [[CCDirector sharedDirector] end]; [myDefaultOptions setObject:tempCount4 forKey:@"enemyNumber"]; } The control is not entering in to the (void)applicationWillTerminate:(UIApplication *)application when I pressed the Home button. And when I touched the game icon on the screen the game is running from first screen and in log (terminal )it is not showing any values. And what should I store to resume my game from stored state.
