  • Getting an array back from php using $.ajax

    A php script is giving this array (which has been passed through json_encode()) [{name:"a1",path:"b1"},{name:"a2",path:"b2"}] I use the following function to retrieve the array to jquery: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "functions.php", data: "action=" + something, cache: false, success: function(response) { alert(response); } }); The problem is I get the array back as a string: (new String("[{name:"a1",path:"b1"},{name:"a2",path:"b2"}}]")) How can I get it to be a javascript array? Help would be much appreciated.

    Hi i am working on a web application where i have to encode and decode a string at the JavaScript side and ruby backend of the code. the only problem is that the escape methods for JavaScript and ruby have a small difference. in java script the " " is treated as "%20" but in ruby the " "(space) is encoded to "+". any way to work around this? another ruby method to encode a string in RAW url encode? thank you

    I am defining a primary key in MongoMapper. class B key :_id, string key :externalId, string end The problem is that everything i add a new record in B, it appears that I need to explicity specify the _id, when it is already defined in the external id B.new(:_id=>"123", :external_id=>"123 ) That does not quite make sense. There should be a way to specify externalId as the primary key, no?

    I have the following code that creates a new Excel file in my C# code behind. When I attempt to save the file I would like the user to select the location of the save. In Method #1, I can save the file my using the workbook SaveCopyAs without prompting the user for a location. This saves one file to the C:\Temp directory. Method #2 will save the file in my Users\Documents folder, then prompt the user to select the location and save a second copy. How can I eliminate the first copy from saving in the Users\Documents folder?     I'm trying to put some code examples in a pdf, but copying them out messes up the formatting and rearranges the lines, there's a lot of manual cleanup needed after pasting. Is there a equivalent to html's pre for PDFs? For "this" block of text respect line breaks, spacing, and copy as plain text like its shown. The closest thing I can see is adding note annotations next to every code example.

  • How can a button click method find out which item is selected in a ListView?

    I have a single screen with a bank of buttons below a ListView. Entries on the ListView light up in orange when I scroll so I assume that are selected. When I then press the "Delete" button I want the onClickListener to remove the currently selected entry. But getSelectedItemPosition() always gives me -1. If I can't hope to use the GUI controls in this way, please give me another way of getting the same result. I have even tried setting the onClickListener of the List View to store the index before the button is pressed (in case pressing the button unselects the entry) but even that is always -1 it seems.   • Zend Framework AjaxContext filters the results and Decorators not removable

    Ok, since this problem has 2 parts, it will be easier to explain them together. So here goes: I am trying to remove the default decorators from these elements, since I am using a little different way of styling them. But no matter what i do, the DtDDWrapper still shows up.
