How to store the file which is uploaded by the user to the database ? I want to store the file in the database how can we do that ? In the back-end I am using sql with c#.net application.
What is the fastest and most stable non-sql database to store big data and process thousands requests during the day (it's for traffic exchange service)? I've found Kdb+ and Berkeley DB. Are they good? Are there other options?
Hello All
I have 2 tables Project and ProjectList like this
Project
ProjectID
Name
ProjectListID - allow null
In ProjectList
ProjectListID
ProjName
Now what i need here, i want only those recoed from ProjectList table which ProjectListID not in Project table.
I made a query but it is taking lot of time to execute.
select * FROM projectslist pl where pl.ProjectsListID not in (SELECT p.ProjectsListID FROM project p where (p.ProjectsListID is not null and p.ProjectsListID <>0))
Please help me to create optimize query. I am using My SQL.
hi
I have a aggregate column present the microsecond, a report(with jasper) have to show HH:mm:ss of this indicator
What I did is using SEC_TO_TIME(sum(col)/1000) , but when mapping to java.sql.Time, i doesn't work when the value of hour in result pass over 24(ex:36:33:33)
Then I think another way, not using sec_to_time, just mapping the microsecond as Bigdecimal,
but dunno what java class shoud i use to format date as the default format of hh:mm:ss is limit to 24...?
i have some apache logs and i want to be able to query the data in it.
so i wanted to know if its possible to convert this log data to a relational database so i later can query and analyze the data using sql statments.
thanks
The use case is to have an application store data on the client side when offline.
Is it advisable to use the Web SQL Database (which Chrome and Safari support, not FF though), or wait for the browsers to implement the Indexed Database API?
I heard opinion that it make no sense to create indexes when field has less changeability.
Eg if it stores only A,B,C,D values then there wouldn't be benefit of having such index, and further more SQL server will not use it at all when executing query.
I wonder your opinion on that matter?
I am looking forward to move all the logic (which is implemented as manipulating Entity Framework 4 objects) to a server side. It looks going to be simple (thanks to the application structure) and beneficial (as all I have is one oldy laptop as a client and one tough server which runs SQL Server 2008, and building a separate service for the logic can just introduce more latency if compared to doing it inside the database).
So how do I correctly use Entities Framework inside a CLR stored procedure and make it using a host-server-provided SqlContext?
I have Article table:
id | type | date
-----------------------
1 | A | 2010-01-01
2 | A | 2010-01-01
3 | B | 2010-01-01
Field type can be A, B or C.
I need to run a report that would return how many articles of each type there is per every day, like this:
date | count(type="A") | count(type="B") | count(type="C")
-----------------------------------------------------
2010-01-01 | 2 | 1 | 0
2010-01-02 | 5 | 6 | 7
Currently I am running 3 queries for every type and then manually merging the results
select date, count(id) from article where type="A" group by date
Is it possible to do this in one query? (in pure sql, no stored procedures or anything like that).
Thanks
I want to go through a table, and change all instances of 'notify4-N' to 'notify5-N', where N is a number from 1-9. Is there a way to do that in SQL? It would be easy in perl, but I'm not sure the customer even has perl on his servers.
Hi,
I am getting the following error: Invalid authorization specification
I've narrowed down the error to my connection string. I have verified the server name, database, user & password are correct. Here is the string:
"Provider=SQLOLEDB;Server=xxxxx.db.12345.hostedresource.com;Database=foo;UID=fooUser;PWD=fooPW"
The SQL server is hosted on Godaddy so I don't have access to its settings.
Please help, I've scoured the internet for a solution!
I updated a table in my MS SQL Server 2008 by accident, I was updating a table from another by copying cell by cell, but I have overwritten the original table. Is there a way that I can restore my table contents as it was?
Hello,
Does someone knows how can I send a Timestamp value from C# to my Sql stored procedure which expect to get a timestamp value?
the sp looks like this
create sp1(@TS Timestamp)
--do do something...
go
I'm writing java application that is using both SQLite and MySQL using JDBC.
Are there any differences in SQL for those databases? Can I use same queries for both SQLite and MySQL, or is there any db specific stuff, that doesn't work on the other one?
As far I've worked only with MySQL, so I don't really know much about SQLite.
I am running unit tests and when I try to insert data in the database and getting it right after, I don't get anything (I have tried with DataAdapter and DataReader).
However when I put a 3 seconds sleep (even with 1 second it doesn't work...) between the insert and the select I get the result.
In SQL Server Profiler I can see the execution, the insert is well done and is completed about 10 miliseconds before the select begins.
I can't find out where this comes
I have a column with comma separated values like 6,7,99.3334. I need write a PL SQL procedure that will give me these values separately. The Length of the column is 40.
Can anyone help me with this?
When I rename a table column in Designer mode in SQL Server Management Studio 2008 (both R2 and non-R2) and generate a change script it looks like this:
EXECUTE sp_rename N'table.column', N'Tmp_columnNew', 'COLUMN'
GO
EXECUTE sp_rename N'table.Tmp_columnNew', N'columnNew', 'COLUMN'
GO
What for temporary column name is used? Why don't rename at once?
Hi
Is Entity Framework worth moving to for a new small app? About 10 tables and a WinForms app.
ie the alternative being DataTables/DataRows or Linq-to-SQL
There are three tables in my db ITEM_MASTER, PRICE_MASTER, COMP_MASTER
ITEM_MASTER
STORE_CODE ITEM_CODE ITEM_DESC
011 914004 desccc
PRICE_MASTER
STORE_CODE ITEM_CODE COMP_CODE
011 914004 01
011 914004 02
011 914004 03
011 914004 04
COMP_MASTER
COMP_CODE COMP_DESC STORE_CODE
01 comp1 011
02 comp2 011
03 comp3 011
04 comp4 011
I want to get all these for an ITEM_CODE in single query
STORE_CODE ITEM_CODE ITEM_DESC COMP_DESC1 COMP_DESC2 COMP_DESC3 COMP_DESC4
011 914004 desccc comp1 comp2 comp3 comp4
How can i write a oracle SQL query for this??
I would like to associate 2 entities using hibernate annotations with a custom join clause. The clause is on the usual FK/PK equality, but also where the FK is null. In SQL this would be something like:
join b on a.id = b.a_id or b.a_id is null
From what I have read I should use the @WhereJoinTable annotation on the owner entity, but I'm puzzled about how I specify this condition...especially the first part of it - referring to the joining entity's id.
Does anyone have an example?
So i have a SQL table setup as such
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `points` (
`id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,
`lat` float(10,6) NOT NULL,
`lng` float(10,6) NOT NULL,
PRIMARY KEY (`id`)
) ENGINE=MyISAM;
And im inserting stuff like
INSERT INTO `points` (`lat`, `lng`) VALUES ('89.123456','-12.123456');
Gives me a row with lat and lng being 89.123459 and -12.123455
Whats up?
We have some JPA entity classes which are currently under development and wouldn't want them as part of the testing cycle. We tried commenting out the relevant entity classes in META-INF\persistence.xml but the hbm2ddl reverse engineering tool still seems to generate SQL for those entities. How do I tell my code to ignore these classes? Are there any annotations for these or should I have to comment out the @Entity annotation along with my changes in persistence.xml file.
