    - by iMad

  • MVC Validator numberOfInvalids not working

    - by user965445
    I dynamically add some elements to a form so I know I need to re-parse the form. Even if I have old invalid elements they don't get identified in numberOfInvalids It always comes back = 0 even though the invalid fields are highlighted on the page. var form = $("#form"); //Form Savingform.submit(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); form.removeData("validator"); form.removeData("unobtrusiveValidation"); $.validator.unobtrusive.parse(form); var val = form.validate(); if (val.numberOfInvalids() == 0) { $.blockUI({ fadeIn: 1000 }); AjaxRequest({ data: $(this).serializeArray(), success: function (data, status, xhr) { alert('sucess save or submit, use "'); }, complete: function () { $.unblockUI(); } }); } });

  • Slick PHP based image manager for managing user profile images

    - by franko75
    Hi, I'm just throwing this out there as I'm plodding my way through creating a Member Photo album on a site i'm working on, where they can login and upload their photos to a personal gallery. I want this to be nice and lightweight, but still slick and "modern" with a modal based interface for the user. I'm surprised though that there is seemingly nothing open source out there which fits the bill - I've done a few searches on Google to no avail and can't seem to find anything. Lots of bloated photo galleries out there but nothing looks like it has been developed using more recent technologies. Is anyone aware of anything which might suit what I'm looking for? I'm fully prepared to try and code it myself but I'd be delighted if I didn't have to! Pure laziness you might say, but there's no point reinventing the wheel.

  • JSONP not firing on IPad

    - by Gemtag
    After trying everything possible I've come to the conclusion this is an issue with IPad Safari. This works in FF, IE, Chrome, and Safari on MacBook. Below is my dumbed-down code. I have 2 separate JSONP calls, This first one works in all browsers including IPad. This simply calls a function based on a blur event $('#gender').blur(function() { reTarget(); }); function reTarget() { $.getJSON("http://host.com/Jsonpgm?jsoncallback=?", function() { } ); } Below is where things break. On the same page as the above code is the following, which calls a function based on a submit button click. $(':submit').bind('click', function(event) { if (checkThis() == false) { return false; }; }); $('form').bind('submit', function(event) { if (checkThis() == false) { return false; }; }); function checkThis() { $.getJSON("http://host.com/Jsonpgm.aspx?jsoncallback=?", function() { } ); } This code will not fire. I've put alerts right before it and they fire. I look at the web logs and there is no entry for this json call. I would take any suggestions on this. At this point I fear it's a problem with firing jsonp from a submit event.

  • How to store <TR> id value in array, when I toggle?

    - by James123
    I am toggling 'tr.subCategory1'and its siblings .RegText. at the same time I am trying to store its ids in the array like this list_Visible_Ids[$(this).attr('id')] = $(this).css('display') != 'none' ? 1 : null; (When I collapsed I need store 'null' in array at its id place, If I expand I need store I need store 1 at its id place). But everytime alert($(this).css('display')) showing block. How can I handle this?. So When I collapsed or expanded it is storing 1 only. $(document).ready(function() { $('tr[@class^=RegText]').hide().children('td'); list_Visible_Ids = []; var idsString, idsArray; idsString = $('#myVisibleRows').val(); idsArray = idsString.split(','); $.each(idsArray, function() { if (this != "" || this != null) { $('#' + this).siblings('.RegText').toggle(); list_Visible_Ids[this] = 1; } }); $('tr.subCategory1') .css("cursor", "pointer") .attr("title", "Click to expand/collapse") .click(function() { $(this).siblings('.RegText').toggle(); $(this).siblings('.VolumeRegText').toggle(); //alert($(this).css('display')) list_Visible_Ids[$(this).attr('id')] = $(this).css('display') != 'none' ? 1 : null; }); $('#form1').submit(function() { idsString = ''; for (var index in list_Visible_Ids) { idsString += (idsString != '' ? ',' : '') + index; } $('#myVisibleRows').val(idsString); form1.submit(); }); });

  • Is it possible to tell if there are any ongoing 'GET' requests with javascript?

    - by Lavabeams
    Is it possible to tell if there are any ongoing 'GET' requests with javascript? I have a feeling that it is not. Basically I don't want to make a seperate request while the other "more important" requests are going as this one is fairly heavy. So I was curious if it is possible to tell if there are currently 'get' requests going and if so I can tell my function to hold off for this update and do it again in 10-15secs. Any information etc would be appreciated.

  • Assigning data to an <li> element?

    - by user246114
    Hi, I am generating some list items as a result of a search, and I want to attach some data to each list element from the search (possibly a bad idea to merge ui and data), but now curious about it. I am doing this: var element = $("<li>Hello</li>); element.mydata = "foo"; element.appendTo("#panelParent"); so I'm just assigning my stuff to element.mydata. My click handler reports that no such data exists for the element when clicked: $('#panelParent').delegate('li', 'click', function() { // this.mydata is undefined. }); where did it go to? I could keep the data external to the a list item element, was wondering if there's a convenient way like this to just keep it bound though? Thanks

  • Find an element by class name, from a known parent element

    - by user246114
    Hi, I want to find an element by class name. I know it will appear in a particular parent div, so rather than search the entire dom, I'd like to search only the particular div. I am trying this, but does not seem to be the correct syntax: var element = $("#parentDiv").(".myClassNameOfInterest"); what's the right way to do that? Thanks

  • Check for element equality in an animation function.

    - by Zardoz
    I have the the below code and would expect that in the first pass of the fadeTo function "yes" would be printed as those first two console logs tell me it is the same element. But it doesn't recognize them as equal. What do I miss here? var tds = self.element.find("td:nth-child(" + (columnIndex + 1) + ")"); tds.fadeTo(options.columnFadeOutTime, 0, function() { window.console.log(tds.first()); window.console.log($(this)); if ($(this) == tds.first()) { window.console.log("yes"); } else { window.console.log("no"); } }

  • How can I modify this javascript code?

    - by TIMEX
    I'm using the Google Local Search API and Google Maps API. See here: http://geodit.com:8000/test You can perform a search, and then the javascript fills the Map, as well as the results next to the map. I think this function fills the results next to the map: function OnLocalSearch() My question is: how can I change the results displayed? Right now, by default it shows the Name of the business and the address. How can I disable the business link? And then add more text to each search result?

    Hello all, iam stuck now, i really hope if somebody can tell me the problems what i really don't see. The problem is is the menubar works great in Safari,FF,Chrome. But when i open IE8 its so slow when i put my mouse cursor on another menu area. Or better the entire menu is just so slow! html id & class are <div class="oe_wrapper"> <ul id="oe_menu" class="oe_menu"> this is my javascript code: $(function () { var $oe_menu = $('#oe_menu'); var $oe_menu_items = $oe_menu.children('li'); var $oe_overlay = $('#oe_overlay'); $oe_menu_items.bind('mouseenter', function () { var $this = $(this); $this.addClass('slided selected'); $this.children('div').css('z-index', '9999').stop(true, true).slideDown(300, function () { $oe_menu_items.not('.slided').children('div').hide(); $this.removeClass('slided'); }); }).bind('mouseleave', function () { var $this = $(this); $this.removeClass('selected').children('div').css('z-index', '1'); }); $oe_menu.bind('mouseenter', function () { var $this = $(this); $this.addClass('hovered'); }).bind('mouseleave', function () { var $this = $(this); $this.removeClass('hovered'); $oe_menu_items.children('div').hide(); }) });

  • How dangerous is e.preventDefault();, and can it be replaced by keydown/mousedown tracking?

    - by yc
    I'm working on a tracking script for a fairly sophisticated CRM for tracking form actions in Google Analytics. I'm trying to balance the desire to track form actions accurately with the need to never prevent a form from not working. Now, I know that doing something like this doesn't work. $('form').submit(function(){ _gaq.push('_trackEvent', 'Form', 'Submit', $(this).attr('action')) }); The DOM unloads before this has a chance to process. So, a lot of sample code recommends something like this: $('form').submit(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); var form = this; _gaq.push('_trackEvent', 'Form', 'Submit', $(this).attr('action')); //...do some other tracking stuff... setTimeout(function(){ form.submit(); }, 400); }); This is reliable in most cases, but it makes me nervous. What if something happens between e.preventDefault();and when I get around to triggering the DOM based submit? I've totally broken the form. I've been poking around some other analytics implementations, and I've noticed something like this: $('form').mousedown(function(){ _gaq.push('_trackEvent', 'Form', 'Submit', $(this).attr('action')); }); $('form').keydown(function(e){ if(e.which===13) //if the keydown is the enter key _gaq.push('_trackEvent', 'Form', 'Submit', $(this).attr('action')); }); Basically, instead of interrupting the form submit, preempting it by assuming that if someone is mousing down or keying down on Enter, than that form is submitted. Obviously, this will result in a certain amount of false positives, but it completely eliminates use of e.preventDefault();, which in my mind eliminates the risk that I might ever prevent a form from successfully submitting. So, my question: Is it possible to take the standard form tracking snippet and prevent it from ever fully preventing the form from submitting? Is the mousedown/keydown alternative viable? Are there any submission cases it may miss? Specifically, are there other ways to end up submitting besides the mouse and the keyboard enter? And will the browser always have time to process javascript before beginning to unload the page?

  • How can I make this run on all my files automatically? YUI Compressor for Visual Studios

    - by chobo2
    Hi So I found this page http://blog.lavablast.com/post/2009/05/YUI-Compressor-for-Visual-Studio.aspx and how to put YUI compressor into Visual studios(I am using visual studios 2010 express). So it got me thinking can I somehow set it in my project to always take my "development scripts" and minify them automatically. Right now if I make a change to my script I have to remember to minify it once I am done otherwise I could be using a out to day version. So it would be cool if I could just set up like so when I build it takes all my development scripts and then minifys them. How could I do something like this?
