  • A class meant for an alfresco behavior and its bean, how do they work and how are they deployed trough eclipse

    (This is a partial repost of a question asked 10 days ago because only 1 part was answered(not included), I've rewritten it into a way better question and added 3 more tags) where do I put the DeleteAsset.class or why isn't it being found? I've put the compiled class from the bin of the workspace of eclipse into alfresco-4.2.c/tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/com/openerp/behavior/ and right now it's giving me Error loading class [com.openerp.behavior.DeleteAsset] for bean with name 'deletionBehavior' defined in URL [file:/home/openerp/alfresco-4.2.c/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/extension/cust??om-web-context.xml]: problem with class file or dependent class; nested exception is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/openerp/behavior/DeleteAsset (wrong name: DeleteAsset) when I put it in there. (See bean below!) think I've found the problem. Being a newbie to eclipse I haven't managed the dependecies well I think.     If .NET 3.5 is installed, but not .NET 3.5 SP1, WaitHandle.WaitOne(int) throws a MissingMethodException. I'd like to be notified earlier on if the correct version of the .NET libraries is not available, for example when the application is started. Is this possible? Update: So my question question is twofold: a) How can I determine which version of the .NET library is required by an application? b) How can I determine the currently installed version of the .NET library?

  • How do I use Fluent NHibernate with .NET 4.0?

    I want to learn to use Fluent NHibernate, and I'm working in VS2010 Beta2, compiling against .NET 4, but I'm experiencing some problems. Summary My main problem (at the moment) is that the namespace FluentNHibernate isn't available even though I've imported all the .dll assemblies mentioned in this guide. This is what I've done: 1. I downloaded the Fluent NHibernate source from here, extracted the .zip and opened the solution in VS. A dialog asked me if I wanted to convert the solution to a VS2010 solution, so I did. 2. I then went into each project's properties and configured all of them to compile for .NET 4, and built the entire solution. 3. I copied all the .dll files from /bin/Debug/ in the FluentNHibernate to a new folder on my local hard drive. 4. In my example project, I referenced FluentNHibernate.dll and NHibernate.dll from the new folder. This is my problem: If I right-click on FluentNHibernate in the References list and select "View in Object Browser...", it shows up correctly. Now, when I try to create a mapping class, I can't import FluentNHibernate. This code: using FluentNHibernate.Mapping; namespace FluentNHExample.Mappings { } generates an error on the using statement, saying The type or namespace 'FluentNHibernate' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?). The FluentNHibernate assembly is still in the list of References of my project, but if I try to browse the assembly in Object Browser again, it can't be found. What is causing this?

    Whats the best way to implement mass email sending feature within web app? Two major cases: Email messages for separate registered users depending on their activities (just sending short reminders to user for ex about new posts in his created topic) "Send email for all registered users" functionality, it will be nice to have feature for system administrator to send some messages for all registered users. Of course adding all emails to recipient isn't the way we can go, because email addresses for each user are anonimous. As i understand for case nr1 there is no problem just create some email message via System.Net.Mail by creating new mail message and sending it... but what about case nr 2??? i guess smth like this: foreach(var emailAddress in emailAddresses) { MailMessage mail = new MailMessage(); mail.From = new MailAddress("jondoe@bla.net"); mail.To.Add(emailAddress); mail.Subject = "test"; mail.Body = "test"; SmtpClient smtp = new SmtpClient("smtp.gmail.com", 587); smtp.Send(mail); } isn't the good way :) so the question is what is the best way to achieve this ? btw we have no possiblity to deploy some serive for email sending, this should be integrated into web application.

  • Guaranteed way to find the ildasm.exe and ilasm.exe files regardless of .NET version/environment?

    Is there a way to programmatically get the FileInfo/Path of the ildasm.exe/ilasm.exe executables? I'm attempting to decompile and recompile a dll/exe file appropriately after making some alterations to it (I'm guessing PostSharp does something similar to alter the IL after the compilation). I found a blog post that pointed to: var pfDir = Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolders.ProgramFiles)); var sdkDir = Path.Combine(pfDir, @"Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\bin"); ... However, when I ran this code the directory did not exist (mainly because my SDK version is 7.1), so on my local machine the correct path is @"Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\bin". How do I ensure I can actually find the ildasm.exe? Similarly, I found another blog post on how to get access to ilasm.exe as: string windows = Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.System); string fwork = Path.Combine(windows, @"..\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727"); ... While this works, I noticed that I have Framework and Framework64, and within Framework itself I have all of the versions up to v4.0.30319 (same with Framework64). So, how do I know which one to use? Should it be based on the .NET Framework version I'm targetting? Summary: How do I appropriately guarantee to find the correct path to ildasm.exe? How do I appropriately select the correct ilasm.exe to compile?

  • Why doesn't every class in the .Net framework have a corresponding interface?

    Since I started to develop in a test/behavior driven style, I appreciated the ability to mock out every dependency. Since mocking frameworks like Moq work best when told to mock an interface, I now implement an interface for almost every class I create b/c most likely I will have to mock it out in a test eventually. Well, and programming to an interface is good practice, anyways. At times, my classes take dependencies on .Net classes (e.g. FileSystemWatcher, DispatcherTimer). It would be great in that case to have an interface, so I could depend on an IDispatcherTimer instead, to be able to pass it a mock and simulate its behavior to see if my system under test reacts correctly. Unfortunately both of above mentioned classes do not implement such interfaces, so I have to resort to creating adapters, that do nothing else but inherit from the original class and conform to an interface, that I then can use. Here is such an adapter for the DispatcherTimer and the corresponding interface: using System; using System.Windows.Threading; public interface IDispatcherTimer { #region Events event EventHandler Tick; #endregion #region Properties Dispatcher Dispatcher { get; } TimeSpan Interval { get; set; } bool IsEnabled { get; set; } object Tag { get; set; } #endregion #region Public Methods void Start(); void Stop(); #endregion } /// <summary> /// Adapts the DispatcherTimer class to implement the <see cref="IDispatcherTimer"/> interface. /// </summary> public class DispatcherTimerAdapter : DispatcherTimer, IDispatcherTimer { } Although this is not the end of the world, I wonder, why the .Net developers didn't take the minute to make their classes implement these interfaces from the get go. It puzzles me especially since now there is a big push for good practices from inside Microsoft. Does anyone have any (maybe inside) information why this contradiction exists?
