  • Best way to implement keywords for image upload gallery

    I'm starting to spec out an image gallery type system similar to Facebook's. Members of the site will be able to create image galleries and upload images for others to view. Images will have keywords the the uploader can specify. Here's the question, what's the best way to model this? With image and keyword tables linked vi a HABTM relation? Or a single image table with the keywords saved as comma delimited values in a text field in the image record? Then search them using a LIKE or FULL TEXT index function? I want to be able to pull up all images containing a given keyword as well as generate a keyword cloud. I'm leaning toward the HABTM setup but I wanted to see what everyone else though. Thanks!!

  • jQuery: jquery form plugin syntax?

    I'm using jquery with the jquery form plugin. I read through a bunch of posts, the docs, etc., and I'm still having trouble with what I believe to be simple. I have a form with some simple text inputs and a couple textareas, and I have this link that I want to trigger submission of that form to a specific method (/email): <a id="email-data">Send Email</a> and this jquery in doc ready: $('#email-data').click(function() { var options = { url: '/email/', success: alert('Email sent.') }; $('#report-giftcard-sales-form').ajaxSubmit(options); }); So I would expect it to submit to my /email method, but no such luck. Currently I just have the /email method logging a debug message, so it's as simple as can be. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Customizing scrollable plugin with prevpage and nextpage over the image? (see mock up)

    Hi, I am implementing a scrollable for a portfolio gallery. (scrollable = scrollable plugin from http://flowplayer.org/tools/index.html ) There will be one item visible at a time. By default, scrollable positions the prev/next buttons outside of the image area and clicking on the current image advances the scrollable content. I would like to have the prev/next render within the image area. I would like to have an image caption appear when mousing over the lower part of the image.   • Browser plugin which can register it's own protocol

    Hi, I need to implement browser plugin which can register it's own protocol (like someprotocol://someurl ) and be able to handle calls to this protocol (like user clicking on 'someprotocol' link calls function inside my plugin). As far as I undesrtand Skype does something simmilar, except I need to handle links within page context and not in separated app. Any advices on how this can be done? Can this be done without installing my own plugin, with help of flash/java?

  • set a default saving data in a selection box in HABTM model

    here is my problem which in my system. my system allow user to add event, which include date, time, places. In the other hand, user are allow to choose the "Event sharing to" some of other user. So i successful to created and share to other user, when the user login which are being choose to share with the event, he is able to view for that particular event. But the problem is, when user add the event, he must choose for his own name also in the select box. If not he will be unable to read the event that he had created. So i need to save a default data to my model, which is whenever the user got choose the sharing event or not, it also will save the data to his user id. here is my code for select box, what can i edit and do to let it set a default saving value which is always save with the user own data?? input('User',array( 'label' = 'Select Related Potential', 'options' = $users, //'id'='user', 'style'='width:250px;height:100px', //'selected' = $ownUserId )); ? i try to solve by adding 1 more row to the add.ctp, but the permission just set to the own user who created it, the other user i choose is unable to read. $form-input('User',array( 'label' = 'Select Related Potential', 'options' = $users, //'id'='user', 'style'='width:250px;height:100px', 'selected' = $ownUserId )); $form-input('User',array('type'='hidden','value'=$ownUserId));

  • Cake PHP Routing issue

    Hi, I need to do some special routing in cake, but can't for the life of me figure it out. I have a shop controller at /shop, the format of the url will be: /shop/:category/:sub_category/:product_slug In the routing I need to send each part of the url to a different action, for example if the url was just /shop/cakes it would go to the category action of shop. However if the url was /shop/cakes/macaroons or /shop/cakes/fairy it would go to the sub category action on the shop controller. And the the same again for /shop/cakes/macaroons/pistachio would go to the product action on the shop controller. How would I go about this in the routing? Something starting with Router::connect('/shop/:category/:sub_category/:product_slug' ... Or am I way off the mark? Thanks.

  • Is there a jQuery plugin for error messages at top like Twitter?

    I'm looking for a jquery plugin that would create an errors div like what twitter has. The div gets added by the plugin, it stays hidden while it doesn't have content, then when a message gets added to it, it appears at the top (with either a close button option or automatic disappear after an x number of seconds). It's not too difficult to write, but there would be no reason to write it if it's already been done before. Anyone knows of a plugin like that?

  • Binding jQuery UI plugin after $.load

    I have a function that attaches the jQuery UI DatePicker (with my options) to a passed jQuery object: function bindDatepicker($obj) { if ($obj == null) $obj = $("input.date"); $obj.datepicker( { appendText: '(yyyy-mm-dd)', autoSize: true, changeMonth: true, changeYear: true, closeText: 'Done', dateFormat: 'yy-mm-dd', defaultDate: '+1m', minDate: +1, numberOfMonths: 2 } ); } I call this at the beginning of every page to bind it to input elements: $(function() { bindDatepicker($("input.date")); }); This works fine. My problem comes in when I load form elements using $.load(). I cannot attach the DatePicker to any of the loaded elements. For example: $("#id").load("urlToLoad", function() { bindDatepicker($("input.date")); }); Loads the form elements into a div just fine, but will not attach the DatePicker. Why is this?     Twitter will pop down a message bar at the top of the screen say "Wrong password" and after 10 seconds, it will slide up and disappear. Chrome also shows "Do you want to save the password" message box using such a way. Does jQuery have a plug in to do that already? Does it also work in IE 6? Because usually, the display of relative to the viewport (using position: fixed) will not work on IE 6. thanks.

  • Attach fancybox/lightbox/idontknowbox function on an element

    I'm developing a jquery gallery, and I want to parametrize the highlighter function to support any kind of lightboxes (fancybox for example). In my defaults I did something like: $.fn.mygallery.defaults = { functionHighlighter: null } so in the code, creating the item, I'll check this property, and if it's setted to a function, I want to call it on the element: if ((typeof opt.functionHighlighter) === "function") { opt.functionHighlighter.call(link); } where link is the anchor element containing the miniature image, with href setted to the original image. In my idea, when the plugin is called, I set the function with: $("#gallery").mygallery({ functionHighlighter: $.fancybox }); but the "call" on the functionHighlighter executes directly the fancybox, that returns an empty area. What I want to emulate is the execution of link.fancybox(); that correctly builds the plugin on link. Any ideas?

    I Have an N-Pages PDF linked in a my web page. I want to be able to browse the PDF, with next and prev arrows, page numbers, etc etc I want to be able to browse the PDF without using any Flash Plugin. I also want to normalize the browsing behaviour, so i don't want to use the default PDF plugin of the browser. I'm looking for a JS plugin but i don't find interesting solutions.     I am using the jQuery Cloud Zoom Plugin and i need to add the "mouseenter" or "mouseover" event to activate the zoom when the user put the mouse over the thumbs. So i have made this change in the line 359 of the file cloud-zoom.1.0.2.js (Version 1.0.2) $(this).bind('mouseenter click', $(this) ... It works, but if i pass the mouse quickly over the thumbs the "Loading" text doesn't disapear. Someone knows what i have to change to solve this? Thanks for any help!

Given a data object like this... var data = { name: 'datatable', table: [ {id: 1, name: 'Anne'}, {id: 2, name: 'Amelie'}, {id: 3, name: 'Polly'}, {id: 4, name: 'Alice'}, {id: 5, name: 'Martha'} ] }; ..I'm wondering if it is possible to directly specify an object in an array of objects using $T. (I'm hoping there is something like $T.table:3 available) Currently the only way I can think of to access a specific object in an array is to do something like this... {#foreach $T.table as record} {#if $T.record$iteration == 3} This is record 3! Name: {$T.record.name} {#/if} {#/for} However that seems clumsy... Any suggestions? Thanks
