  • How to store an object in Riak with the Java client?

    - by Jonas
    I have setup Riak on a Ubuntu machine, and it seam to work if I do riak ping. Now I would like to use the Riak Java client to store an object, but it doesn't work. I get com.basho.riak.client.response.RiakIORuntimeException when I try to store an object. What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to test if I can access riak from my java client? Do I have to create a Bucket first? how? import com.basho.riak.client.RiakClient; import com.basho.riak.client.RiakObject; import com.basho.riak.client.response.FetchResponse; public class RiakTest { public static void main(String[] args) { // connect RiakClient riak = new RiakClient("http://192.168.1.107:8098/riak"); // create object RiakObject o = new RiakObject("mybucket", "mykey", "myvalue"); // store riak.store(o); } }

  • Why is this method executing twice each time I call it?

    - by highone
I have the following method that is executing twice every time it is called: public static void ChangeToRepository(RepositoryTextBox textBox, int repositoryNumber) { MessageBox.Show("you"); int indexOfLastRepository = (textBox.RepositoryCollection.Count - 1); if (repositoryNumber > indexOfLastRepository) { AddTextRepositoriesThrough(textBox, repositoryNumber, indexOfLastRepository); } textBox.RepositoryCollection[textBox.CurrentRepositoryNumber].CurrentText = textBox.Text; textBox.PreviousRepositoryNumber = textBox.CurrentRepositoryNumber; textBox.CurrentRepositoryNumber = repositoryNumber; textBox.Text = textBox.RepositoryCollection[textBox.CurrentRepositoryNumber].CurrentText; } The first time that the method executes, it executes all of the code except for its last line: textBox.Text = textBox.RepositoryCollection[textBox.CurrentRepositoryNumber].CurrentText; The second time, it executes all of the code. What's up?

I found the custom action project template in VS2008 when WIX 3.0 is installed. Now, i couldnt find any template in VS2005 with WIX 2.0. Can anyone plz let me know how can i create a custom action project( class with some custom action)..like this [CustomAction] public static ActionResult InstallItem1(Session session) I think Microsoft.WindowsInstaller and Microsoft.Deployment.WindowsInstaller are the references required (not sure) to create such methods but i couldnt find them in my machine.

  • Java RegEx Pattern not matching (works in .NET)

    - by CDSO1
    Below is an example that is producing an exception in Java (and not matching the input). Perhaps I misunderstood the JavaDoc, but it looks like it should work. Using the same pattern and input in C# will produce a match. import java.util.regex.Matcher; import java.util.regex.Pattern; public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { String pattern = "aspx\\?uid=([^']*)"; Pattern p = Pattern.compile(pattern); Matcher m = p.matcher("id='page.aspx?uid=123'"); System.out.println(m.groupCount() > 0 ? m.group(1) : "No Matches"); } }

  • How to View Android Native Code Profiling?

    - by David R.
I started my emulator with ./emulator -trace profile -avd emulator_15. I then tracked down the trace files to ~/.android/avd/rodgers_emulator_15.avd/traces/profile, where there are six files: qtrace.bb, qtrace.exc, qtrace.insn, qtrace.method, qtrace.pid, qtrace.static. I can't figure out what to do with these files. I've tried both dmtracedump and traceview on all of the files, but none seem to generate any output I can do anything with. How can I view the proportion of time taken by native method calls on Android?

  • java: how to get a string representation of a compressed byte array ?

    - by Guillaume
I want to put some compressed data into a remote repository. To put data on this repository I can only use a method that take the name of the resource and its content as a String. (like data.txt + "hello world"). The repository is moking a filesystem but is not, so I can not use File directly. I want to be able to do the following: client send to server a file 'data.txt' server compress 'data.txt' into a compressed file 'data.zip' server send a string representation of data.zip to the repository repository store data.zip client download from repository data.zip and his able to open it with its favorite zip tool The problem arise at step 3 when I try to get a string representation of my compressed file. Here is a sample class, using the zip*stream and that emulate the repository showcasing my problem. The created zip file is working, but after its 'serialization' it's get corrupted. (the sample class use jakarta commons.io ) Many thanks for your help. package zip; import java.io.File; import java.io.FileInputStream; import java.io.FileOutputStream; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStream; import java.util.zip.ZipEntry; import java.util.zip.ZipInputStream; import java.util.zip.ZipOutputStream; import org.apache.commons.io.FileUtils; /** * Date: May 19, 2010 - 6:13:07 PM * * @author Guillaume AME. */ public class ZipMe { public static void addOrUpdate(File zipFile, File ... files) throws IOException { File tempFile = File.createTempFile(zipFile.getName(), null); // delete it, otherwise you cannot rename your existing zip to it. tempFile.delete(); boolean renameOk = zipFile.renameTo(tempFile); if (!renameOk) { throw new RuntimeException("could not rename the file " + zipFile.getAbsolutePath() + " to " + tempFile.getAbsolutePath()); } byte[] buf = new byte[1024]; ZipInputStream zin = new ZipInputStream(new FileInputStream(tempFile)); ZipOutputStream out = new ZipOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(zipFile)); ZipEntry entry = zin.getNextEntry(); while (entry != null) { String name = entry.getName(); boolean notInFiles = true; for (File f : files) { if (f.getName().equals(name)) { notInFiles = false; break; } } if (notInFiles) { // Add ZIP entry to output stream. out.putNextEntry(new ZipEntry(name)); // Transfer bytes from the ZIP file to the output file int len; while ((len = zin.read(buf)) > 0) { out.write(buf, 0, len); } } entry = zin.getNextEntry(); } // Close the streams zin.close(); // Compress the files if (files != null) { for (File file : files) { InputStream in = new FileInputStream(file); // Add ZIP entry to output stream. out.putNextEntry(new ZipEntry(file.getName())); // Transfer bytes from the file to the ZIP file int len; while ((len = in.read(buf)) > 0) { out.write(buf, 0, len); } // Complete the entry out.closeEntry(); in.close(); } // Complete the ZIP file } tempFile.delete(); out.close(); } public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException { final String zipArchivePath = "c:/temp/archive.zip"; final String tempFilePath = "c:/temp/data.txt"; final String resultZipFile = "c:/temp/resultingArchive.zip"; File zipArchive = new File(zipArchivePath); FileUtils.touch(zipArchive); File tempFile = new File(tempFilePath); FileUtils.writeStringToFile(tempFile, "hello world"); addOrUpdate(zipArchive, tempFile); //archive.zip exists and contains a compressed data.txt that can be read using winrar //now simulate writing of the zip into a in memory cache String archiveText = FileUtils.readFileToString(zipArchive); FileUtils.writeStringToFile(new File(resultZipFile), archiveText); //resultingArchive.zip exists, contains a compressed data.txt, but it can not //be read using winrar: CRC failed in data.txt. • Best approach for building a multiplattform graphical interface for a command-line application

    - by Werner
Hi, I developed a command line application, whose binary runs in Linux, Windows and Mac OSX. It reads some text input files, but I realize that some special users can not handle this. I would then like to build some kind of graphical interface, where the user only finds buttons and scroll bars for selecting the input parameters, a big "run" button, and then it reads the output of the program and makes some figures. I also need that everything gets finally packed in a single file, which uses only static libraries, so the user just needs to copy the file to his/her machine and run it. I would like to know what is the best open source and multi-platform approach to do this. 10 years ago I played a bit with something similar on DEC machines, so I guess that nowadays the situation has probably improved a bit. P.S. For designing the graphical interface, I am looking for a graphical approach, where you add buttons, scroll bars with the mouse P.S. 2: the interface is really simple, just need less than 10 buttons, 5 text fields and 2 scrolla bars Thanks

  • Adding a dynamic-height UITableView into a scrolling view?

    - by Greg
Hello all – I'm getting into iPhone development and have hit my first confusing UI point. Here's the situation: My app is tab-based, and the view that I'm confused about has a static featured content image at the top, then a dynamic list below into which X headlines are loaded. My goal is to have the height of the headline table grow as elements are added to it, and then to have the whole view scroll (both featured image on top and headline list below). So, I guess my question comes in two parts: 1) First, how do you set up a dynamic-height table view that will grow as cells are added to it. So far I've only been able to have my tables handle their own scrolling. 2) Then, what is the root NIB view that the featured image and the table should live in to enabled scrolling? I've dropped oversized content into a UIScrollView now, although did seem to have any success with having it automatically scroll. Thanks in advance for any help on this subject!

  • Using ASP.NET Redirect without string URL?

    - by David Dietrich
For instance, what I have right now is the following: Page.Response.Redirect("Default.aspx", false); Needing to hardcode the string just seems odd to me. The Default.aspx page is already in my project. So is there a way to do the redirect something like the following: Page.Response.Redirect(Default.aspx, false); Where Default.aspx is just the web form. I'd think that this way it would be obvious if there was a problem such as you deleted the web form but didn't update the redirects. Is this possible? Or is there another way entirely I should be looking at this? I suppose I could do something with a static property on the class, but I am wondering if there is a built in thing for this?

  • iPhone Development: Get images from RSS feed

    - by Matthew Saeger
I am using the NSXMLParser to get new RSS stories from a feed and am displaying them in a UITableView. However now I want to take ONLY the images, and display them in a UIScrollView/UIImageView (3 images side-by side). I am completely lost. I am using the following code to obtain 1 image from a URL. NSURL *theUrl1=[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2586/4072164719_0fa5695f59.jpg"]; JImage *photoImage1=[[JImage alloc] init]; [photoImage1 setContentMode:UIViewContentModeScaleAspectFill]; [photoImage1 setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 170)]; [photoImage1 initWithImageAtURL:theUrl1]; [imageView1 addSubview:photoImage1]; [photoImage1 release]; This is all I have accomplished, and it works, for one image, and I have to specify the exact URL. What would you recommend I do to accomplish this?

  • Possible to load an Enum based on a string name?

    - by Cooter
OK, I don't think the title says it right... but here goes: I have a class with about 40 Enums in it. i.e: Class Hoohoo { public enum aaa : short { a = 0, b = 3 } public enum bbb : short { a = 0, b = 3 } public enum ccc : short { a = 0, b = 3 } } Now say I have a Dictionary of strings and values, and each string is the name of above mentioned enums: Dictionary<string,short>{"aaa":0,"bbb":3,"ccc":0} I need to change "aaa" into HooBoo.aaa to look up 0. Can't seem to find a way to do this since the enum is static. Otherwise I'll have to write a method for each enum to tie the string to it. I can do that but thats mucho code to write. Thanks, Cooter

  • Need help with ConnectionString value in C#

    - by SzamDev
Hi I have an idea and I want to apply it to my Application (C# .NET). When we connect to a DB (MS SQL Server 2008) in VS 2008, the ConnectionString saved in the Application Setting and it's a static varriable (no one can edit it unless you edit it inside VS 2008). I want a way to let my Application search for MS SQL Server and save it to Application Setting and use it to connect to my DB Programmatically. When my application start, the first thing to do is checking the ConnectionString if vaild, NOT Empty and test connection to MS SQL Server Successfully so if there is a proplem I think to show a window form to let the user enter some data like username and password for MS SQL Server 2008 Is there any way to do it?

  • Is it possible to create a new T-SQL Operator using CLR Code in SQL Server?

    - by Eoin Campbell
I have a very simple CLR Function for doing Regex Matching public static SqlBoolean RegExMatch(SqlString input, SqlString pattern) { if (input.IsNull || pattern.IsNull) return SqlBoolean.False; return Regex.IsMatch(input.Value, pattern.Value, RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); } It allows me to write a SQL Statement Like. SELECT * FROM dbo.table1 WHERE dbo.RegexMatch(column1, '[0-9][A-Z]') = 1 -- match entries in col1 like 1A, 2B etc... I'm just thinking it would be nice to reformulate that query so it could be called like SELECT * FROM dbo.table1 WHERE column1 REGEXLIKE '[0-9][A-Z]' Is it possible to create new comparison operators using CLR Code. (I'm guessing from my brief glance around the web that the answer is NO, but no harm asking)

  • Printing an array in a method, from a different class?

    - by O.Lodhi
Hello All, I'm a fairly inexperienced programmer, and i'm currently working on a Console Application project. It's basically a little 'mathematics game'; the application generates two random numbers, that have either been added, subtracted, multiplied or divided against each other randomly. The answer is shown on screen and the user has to pick from the menu which is the right mathematical operator, once the correct answer is picked the application then displays on screen how long it took for the user in milliseconds to input the correct answer. Now I want to save the times of the players in an array that can be called up later with all the scores. I need to include a method in this programme and I figured a method to save the times into an array would be suitable. I seem to have stumbled across a little problem though. I'm not quite sure what's wrong: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace Mathgame { class Program { } class arrayclass { public static void saveInArray(int duration) { int[] TopTenScores = {000,1000,2000,3000,4000,5000,6000,7000,8000,9000}; if (duration < 1000) { duration = TopTenScores[000]; } else if ((duration >= 1000) && (duration <= 1999)) { duration = TopTenScores[1000]; } else if ((duration >= 2000) && (duration <= 2999)) { duration = TopTenScores[2000]; } else if ((duration >= 3000) && (duration <= 3999)) { duration = TopTenScores[3000]; } else if ((duration >= 4000) && (duration <= 4999)) { duration = TopTenScores[4000]; } else if ((duration >= 5000) && (duration <= 5999)) { duration = TopTenScores[5000]; } else if ((duration >= 6000) && (duration <= 6999)) { duration = TopTenScores[6000]; } else if ((duration >= 7000) && (duration <= 7999)) { duration = TopTenScores[7000]; } else if ((duration >= 8000) && (duration <= 8999)) { duration = TopTenScores[8000]; } else if ((duration >= 9000) && (duration <= 9999)) { duration = TopTenScores[9000]; } Console.WriteLine(TopTenScores); } static void Main(string[] args) { int intInput, num1, num2, incorrect, array1; float answer; string input; System.Random randNum = new System.Random(); Console.WriteLine("Welcome to the Maths game!"); Console.WriteLine("(Apologies for the glitchiness!)"); Console.WriteLine(); Console.WriteLine("Please choose from the following options:"); Console.WriteLine(); retry: Console.WriteLine("1 - Test your Maths against the clock!"); Console.WriteLine("2 - Exit the application."); Console.WriteLine("3 - Top scores"); Console.WriteLine(); input = Console.ReadLine(); intInput = int.Parse(input); if (intInput == 1) { goto start; } else if (intInput == 2) { goto fin; } else if (intInput == 3) { array1 = array1.saveInArray; goto retry; } Now, in the last 'else if' statement in the code, you can see my variable array1 trying to call the method, but no matter what I do I keep getting errors. This is the only error I have at the moment, but I have a feeling soon as I resolve that error, another will come up. For now i'm just determined to get past this error: 'int' does not contain a definition for 'saveInArray' and no extension method 'saveInArray' accepting a first argument of type 'int' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?). Any help would be kindly appreciated, apologies in advanced for my ugly written code! And thank you to any help that I receive! Regards, Omar.

  • VS2010 profiler/leak detection

    - by Noah Roberts
Anyone know of a profiler and leak detector that will work with VS2010 code? Preferably one that runs on Win7. I've searched here and in google. I've found one leak detector that works (Memory Validator) but I'm not too impressed. For one thing it shows a bunch of menu leaks and stuff which I'm fairly confident are not real. I also tried GlowCode but it's JUST a profiler and refuses to install on win7. I used to use AQtime. It had everything I needed, memory/resource leak detection, profiling various things, static analysis, etc. Unfortunately it gives bogus results now. My main immediate issue is that VS2010 is saying there are leaks in a program that had none in VS2005. I'm almost certain it's false positives but I can't seem to find a good tool to verify this. Memory Validator doesn't show the same ones and the reporting of leaks from VS doesn't seem rational.

  • Calling Python from Java through scripting engine (jython)?

    - by griffin

Edit: Thanks for the responses! I added jython.jar to the classpath and it runs properly: java -cp "./;jython.jar" jythonEx

  • How do I setup a Master Page with ASP.net?

    - by Michael
Hi there, I'm normally a ColdFusion developer, but I'm having to work on a new site using some ASP.net hosting only, so forgive me if my questions seem very trivial. For numerous reasons, the website will be relatively static in the sense that it will mainly be using includes etc...that's about as complex as it will get with this. Now, I heard about the ability to set a master in ASP.net. Would anyone please be able to explain to me in a step process on how to do this? I have of course been searching for some time now on this topic but most results yield little help or no help at all since the search terms are slightly ambiguous. It would be nice to have this functionality for the long run. Any help or advice would be great. Many thanks. Michael.

  • WPF, getting two way binding to work on custom control

    - by e28Makaveli
Two way binding does not work on my custom control with the following internals: public partial class ColorInputControl { public ColorInputControl() { InitializeComponent(); colorPicker.AddHandler(ColorPicker.SelectedColorChangedEvent, new RoutedPropertyChangedEventHandler( SelectedColorChanged));; colorPicker.AddHandler(ColorPicker.CancelEvent, new RoutedPropertyChangedEventHandler(OnCancel)); } public static readonly DependencyProperty SelectedColorProperty = DependencyProperty.Register ("SelectedColor", typeof(Color), typeof(ColorInputControl), new PropertyMetadata(Colors.Transparent, null)); public Color SelectedColor { get { return (Color)GetValue(SelectedColorProperty); //return colorPicker.SelectedColor; } set { SetValue(SelectedColorProperty, value); colorPicker.SelectedColor = value; } } private void SelectedColorChanged(object sender, RoutedPropertyChangedEventArgs<Color> e) { SetValue(SelectedColorProperty, colorPicker.SelectedColor); } } SelectedColor is being bound to a property that fires INotifyPropertyChanged event control when it changes. However, I cannot get two way binding to work. Changes from the UI are pesisted to the data source. However, changes originating from the data source are not reflected on the UI. What did I miss? TIA.

  • How come you cannot catch Code Contract exceptions?

    - by Finglas
System.Diagnostics.Contracts.ContractException is not accessiable in my test project. Note this code is purely myself messing around with my shiney new copy of Visual Studio, but I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong. I'm using the professional edition of VS, therefore I do not have static checking. In order to still use code contracts (which I like) I figured the only way my method can work is to catch the exception that is thrown at runtime, but I'm not finding this possible. TestMethod [TestMethod, ExpectedException(typeof(System.Diagnostics.Contracts.ContractException))] public void returning_a_value_less_than_one_throws_exception() { var person = new Person(); person.Number(); } Method public int Number() { Contract.Ensures(Contract.Result<int>() >= 0); return -1; } Error Error 1 'System.Diagnostics.Contracts.ContractException' is inaccessible due to its protection level.

  • Implementing full text search on iPhone?

    - by Nimrod
I'm looking for suggestions on the best way to implement a full-text search on some static data on the iPhone. Basically I have an app that contains the offline version of a web site, about 50MB of text, and I'd like for users to be able to search for terms. I figure that I should somehow build an table of ("word", reference_to_file_containing_word) or something, put that into either Core Data or just sqlite, index the "word" column, then have the search facility search the table for search terms and take the intersection of the sets of results for the terms or something. That wouldn't allow people to search for phrases but it would be pretty easy and probably not too slow. I'd like to just use existing SDK features for this. Should I use Core Data or sqlite? Does anyone have any other ideas on how this could be done?
