  • Multiple stylesheets for a Lightbox clone.

    - by Neurofluxation
Hey! I have a Lightbox clone (colorbox), which works fine and has no real issues. What I would like is an extra arguement that would say: [pseudocode] if (linksRel == "lightbox1") { add stylesheet1 to this lightbox } else { add stylesheet2 to this lightbox } [/pseudocode] Currently, I have a page with a "colorbox.css" file attached and the" jquery.colorbox.js" file as well - But I want the JS file to import the required CSS dependant on what link was clicked... Urgh, does that make sense? Does anyone have any ideas? I'm stumped!

  • Prevent hash navigation url

    - by Koningh
I have the following problem: I'm using a slider (coda) to let people navigate trough some 'pages'. The slider uses hash links to navigate to the next page/slide. If a user is at page one (#page1), there is a link which will lead the user to page 2 (#page2) and so on. At the top of the slider the numbers of the pages appear as a link, but only when the page is visited. So if there are six pages and the user navigates from the first to the second and then the third one, there are only three links at the top of the slider (to page one, two and three). The problem is that a user can navigate to page five (or any page actually) without first visiting the pages previous to page five by just using the hash URL and typing the whole link in their address bar. For example if I would type www.mydomain.com/slider/index.php#page5 the slider automatically navigates to the fifth slide/page of the slider and thereby skipping the first four. I want to allow users to navigate to #page5 only if they have visited the first four (So by clicking trough the slides). This means that if they would go to #page5 directly by typing the URL in the address bar, I would like them to be send to the first page (#page1). Does anyone have any idea on solving this?

  • sending javascript array to external php file using POST

    - by user1472224
I am trying to send a javascript array to an external php page, but the only thing the php page is picking up is the fact that I am sending array, not the actual data within the array. javascript - var newArray = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]; $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'array.php', data: {'something': newArray}, success: function(){ alert("sent"); } }); External PHP Page - <?php echo($_POST['something'])); ?> I know this question has been asked before, but for some reason, this isn't working for me. I have spent the last couple days trying to figure this out as well. Can someone please point me in the right direction. current output (from php page) - Array (thats all the page outputs)

  • Ideas for band site, which technology to use?

    - by brux
I am attempting to design and build a website for my friends band. There is minimal content to be included such as bio, news, enbemdded Audio/Visual material. My web dev expertise is average. I'm basicaly looking for inspiration, I was edging towards embedding a silverlight deepzoom xap object to add some visual stimulation, perhaps by featuring a high res photo of the bandshardware/equipment which zooms when mouseover occurs. Does anyone have any cool ideas for a central feature for this site, and which way to approact it in terms of technique (js,css, silverlight etc) If anyone has any immediate ideas which they think would be cool then I am eager to hear them! Also if anyone can link me to any cool band sites they have come across recently I would be greatful, nothing too complicated though please I will be doing all the work myself. Im want the site to be simple but have a certain wow factor!

  • Modifying DOM of a webpage

    - by Prashant Singh
The structure of a webpage is like this :- <div id='abc'> <div class='a'>Some contents here </div> <div class='b'>Some other contents< </div> </div> My aim is to add this after the class a in above structure. <div class='a'>Some other contents here </div> So that final structure looks like this :- <div id='abc'> <div class='a'>Some contents here </div> <div class='a'>Some other contents here </div> <div class='b'>Some other contents< </div> </div> Can there be a better way to do this using DOM properties. I was thinking of naive way of parsing the content and updating. Please comment if I am unclear in asking my doubt !

  • calling same function on different buttons not loaded yet

    - by Jordan Faust
I can not get this to work for every button and I cannot find anything explaining why. I guessing it is something small that I am missing $(document).ready(function() { // delete the selected row from the database $(document).on('click', '#business-area-delete-button', { model: "BusinessArea" }, deleteRow); $(document).on('click', '#business-type-delete-button', { model: "BusinessType" }, deleteRow); $(document).on('click', '#client-delete-button', { model: "Client" }, deleteRow); $(document).on('click', '#client-type-delete-button', { model: "ClientType" }, deleteRow); $(document).on('click', '#communication-channel-type', { model: "CommunicationChannelType" }, deleteRow); $(document).on('click', '#parameter-type-delete-button', { model: "ParameterType" }, deleteRow); $(document).on('click', '#validation-method-delete-button', { model: "ValidationMethod" }, deleteRow); } the event function deleteRow(event){ $.ajax( { type:'POST', data: { id: $(".delete-row").attr("id") }, url:"/mysite/admin/delete" + event.data.model, success:function(data, textStatus){ $('#main-content').html(data); }, error:function(XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown){ jQuery('#alerts').html(XMLHttpRequest.responseText); }, complete:function(XMLHttpRequest, textStatus){ placeAlerts() } } ); return false }; This works only for a the button with id validation-method-delete-button. I use document and not the button its self because the button is contained in a template that is loaded later via ajax. I have this working for a similar function that is selecting a row in a table however I am not attempting to pass data in that scenario.

  • How can I use CssResources in UiBinder a generated Cell?

    - by confile
I want to generate a Cell for a CellWidget with the UiBinder (UiRenderer). What I did to generate the cell is in MyCell.java: public class MyCell implements AbstractCell<MyDto> { public interface Resources extends ClientBundle { @Source({Css.DEFAULT_CSS }) Css css(); } public interface Css extends CssResource { String DEFAULT_CSS = "test/MyStyle.css"; String test(); } interface MyUiRenderer extends UiRenderer { void render(SafeHtmlBuilder sb, String name, SafeStyles styles); } private static MyUiRenderer renderer = GWT.create(MyUiRenderer.class); Resources resources = GWT.create(Resources.class); @Override public void render(SafeHtmlBuilder safeHtmlBuilder, MyDto model) { SafeStyles style = SafeStylesUtils.fromTrustedString(resources.css().test().toString()); renderer.render(safeHtmlBuilder, model.getName(), style); } } My MyCell.ui.xml file looks like this: <!DOCTYPE ui:UiBinder SYSTEM "http://dl.google.com/gwt/DTD/xhtml.ent"> <ui:UiBinder xmlns:ui='urn:ui:com.google.gwt.uibinder'> <ui:with field="name" type="java.lang.String" /> <ui:with field='styles' type='com.google.gwt.safecss.shared.SafeStyles'/> <div style="{styles}"><ui:text from="{name}" /></div> </ui:UiBinder> MyStyle.css: .test { background-color: red; font-size: 20px; display: flex; ... } When I run my code I get the following error: [DEBUG] [mobile] - Rebinding test.client.app.MyCell.MyUiRenderer [DEBUG] [mobile] - Invoking generator com.google.gwt.uibinder.rebind.UiBinderGenerator [ERROR] [mobile] - java.lang.String required, but {styles} returns com.google.gwt.safecss.shared.SafeStyles: <div style='{styles}'> (:9) [ERROR] [mobile] - Deferred binding failed for 'test.client.app.MyCell.MyUiRenderer'; expect subsequent failures [ERROR] [mobile] - (GWT.java:72) 2014-06-08 17:15:05,214 [FATAL] Uncaught Exception: Then I tried to this: in my UiBinder but it does not work. • code-style: Is inline initialization of JS objects ok?

    - by michael
I often find myself using inline initialization (see example below), especially in a switch statement when I don't know which case loop will hit. I find it easier to read than if statements. But is this good practice or will it incur side-effects or a performance hit? for (var i in array) { var o = o ? o : {}; // init object if it doesn't exist o[array[i]] = 1; // add key-values } Is there a good website to go to get coding style tips?

  • How do I remove descendant elements from a jQuery wrapped set?

    - by Bungle
I'm a little confused about which jQuery method and/or selectors to use when trying to select an element, and then remove certain descendant elements from the wrapped set. For example, given the following HTML: <div id="article"> <div id="inset"> <ul> <li>This is bullet point #1.</li> <li>This is bullet point #2.</li> <li>This is bullet point #3.</li> </ul> </div> <p>This is the first paragraph of the article</p> <p>This is the second paragraph of the article</p> <p>This is the third paragraph of the article</p> </div> I want to select the article: var $article = $('#article'); but then remove <div id="inset"></div> and its descendants from the wrapped set. I tried the following: var $article = $('#article').not('#inset'); but that didn't work, and in retrospect, I think I can see why. I also tried using remove() unsuccessfully. What would be the correct way to do this? Ultimately, I need to set this up in such a way that I can define a configuration array, such as: var selectors = [ { select: '#article', exclude: ['#inset'] } ]; where select defines a single element that contains text content, and exclude is an optional array that defines one or more selectors to disregard text content from. Given the final wrapped set with the excluded elements removed, I would like to be able to call jQuery's text() method to end up with the following text: This is the first paragraph of the article. This is the second paragraph of the article. This is the third paragraph of the article. The configuration array doesn't need to work exactly like that, but it should provide roughly equivalent configuration potential. Thanks for any help you can provide!

  • Count Upwards for ID jQuery

    - by Tom
Hi Guys, I have the following HTML structure <div id="test-1-yay"></div> ... bunch of code ... <div id="test-2-yay"></div> ... bunch of code ... <div id="test-3-yay"></div> I was wondering how I can use jQuery to basically identify each of these "id's" and then apply some jQuery to them ? I'm new to this so little unsure ? Something like if $('#test-1-yay' || '#test-2-yay' || '#test-3-yay') { do stuff to all ID's } But the prob is I want this to continue as it could go to #test-201-yay, #test-202-yay etc ? Thx

  • Why is my condition onsubmit not returning false?

    - by Liso22
    After asking a couple of questions I managed to create this form. I didn't have troubles making it return false if the submitted value was 0 but I cannot make it return false when it's the string 'Cambia de ciudad". I'm sure I'm messing with the quotes or something like that. This is the form: <form role="search" method="get" action="http://chusmix.com/" onsubmit="if (document.getElementById('s')== 'Cambiá de ciudad") return false;'> <input class="ubicacion" name="s" id="s" tabindex="1" onsubmit="if ((document.getElementById('s').value.length < 4) || (document.getElementById('s')== 'Cambiá de ciudad')) return false;" onfocus="if (this.value=='Cambiá de ciudad') this.value = ''" onblur="if(this.value == '') this.value = 'Cambiá de ciudad'" type="text" maxlength="80" size="28" value="Cambiá de ciudad"> <input type="submit" id="searchsubmit" value="Buscar" /> </form> How do I make it work? Thanks

  • window.parent is always undefined in an iframe

    - by Bill Yang
Hi there, I have recently ran into this strange issue, I was trying to reference parent window in an iframe, but somehow window.parent or parent are always undefined. I got around the problem by using window.top, but this question still haunts me. Why is window.parent undefined? This is a .NET web app, if it helps. Update: I would like to add that both parent and child iframes are pointed to the same domain (localhost). As for code, I have tried the following code: if (parent != null) { // do something } where do something never happens, I also tried alert(parent) and alert(window.parent) they always come out as null.

  • $.get sends prototype functions in request URL?

    - by pimvdb
I have some prototype functions added to Object which in my opinion were practical in certain scenarios. However, I noticed that when I executed a $.get, the prototype functions are handled as data members and are sent like http://...?prototypefunc=false. This is rather useless as I don't supply these as data members, but they are added to the query string. To be exact, I have this code: Object.prototype.in = function() { for(var i=0; i<arguments.length; i++) if(arguments[i] == this) return true; return false; } $.get('http://localhost/test.php', {'test': 'foo'}, function(text) { }); The corresponding URL constructed is: http://localhost/test.php?test=foo&in=false How can I avoid this?

  • jQuery and PHP suggested answers

    - by Samir Ghobril
Hey guys, there is a form where the user select some of his friends and I'm curious on how I can implement a list that searches simultaneously while the user is typing a friend's name and when he selects the name the name is written in the text box(jQuery). And if the user wants to select more than one friend, when I'm inserting the names in the database, how can I separate the names that are written in one input field?

  • How to implement partial refresh like facebook like/comments?

    - by shillong
We have java web application. Summary page will display list of rows. For each row, user can vote and add comments. Vote or add comments will commit immediately and refresh total vote number and comments count. We want to refresh current row instead of whole table just like Facebook does. If need, we can show the list of data with form format (iterator List of data) instead of table format. How to implement this feature base on JSF?
