Create access point (uap0) on debian 7(arm) - not found?

I'm working with a fanless PC that has an ARM chipset, 2 eth plugs and a wifi card (among other things). If I install debian 6 on it all three network interfaces are available at boot time. Today I tried to install debian 7 and had numerous errors indicating that the wireless card isn't supported. uap0: error fetching interface information: Device not found SIOCSIFADDR: No such device uap0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device uap0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device No such device ERR:UAPHOSTCMD is not supported by uap0 ERR:Command sending failed! No such device ERR:UAPHOSTCMD is not supported by uap0 ERR:Command sending failed! I've tried comparing the kernel module list to the working system but there are too many other differences to make something obvious enough (to me) stand out. How would I get started debugging this problem?

Squid "system returned (13) Permission denied"

I can get to a site form my Squid server directly using lynx http://my-URL , ie not using squid as the proxy, just to prove the connectivity exists. Lynx connects fine to the site - its a Weblogic portal When I try the same site from client with the squid machine as a proxy I get a squid error indicating that the destination site refused the connection from Squid. The squid server is a RHEL5.5 server. The error is something like The following error was encountered: Connection Failed The systen returned: (13) Permission denied Any ideas ? The squid access.log just indicates a TCP_MISS. Its as if the destinatin site knows its been accessed by squid and is not allowing ?

So, I am new to Applescript editor and I am trying to write code to automatically update computers. For some odd reason I can not seem to get Adobe to update successfully. I tried using Accessibility Inspector, but nothing appeared like AXButton So is there even a way of writing code for Adobe when there is not an AXButton option? Upgrading Fedora on Amazon to 12 but getting libssl.so.* & libcrypto.so.* are missing

I am upgrading to Fedora 12 on a Amazon EC2 using help here: http://www.ioncannon.net/system-administration/894/fedora-12-bootable-root-ebs-on-ec2/ I managed to do a 64 bit instance OK, however facing some problems with a standard one. On the final bit of the install from 11 to 12 I am getting an error: Error: Missing Dependency: libcrypto.so.8 is needed by package httpd-tools-2.2.1.5-1.fc11.1.i586 (installed) Error: Missing Dependency: libssl.so.8 is needed by package httpd-tools-2.2.1.5-1.fc11.1.i586 (installed) This is referenced in the comments from the link above but all it says is: Q: Apache failed, or libssl.so.* & libcrypto.so.* are missing A: These versions are mssing the symlinks they require. Easy fix, go symlink them to the newest versions in /lib However I am afraid I don't know how to do this. If it is any help I tried running the command locate libssl.so and got: /lib/libssl.so.0.9.8b /lib/libssl.so.6

I tried to switch from Java 5 to Java 6 using the "update-java-alternatives" command like explained on this page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Java But afterwards I get the following error when I tried to execute java: root@webserver:~# java Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Could not create the Java virtual machine. I also tried to reinstall the java binaries using "apt-get" but I didn't succeed reinstalling it. I would like to post the "apt-get" errors, but unfortunately I don't know how to print out the error messages in English and not in German. My system is a Ubuntu 8.04 ROOT server.

However, what I want to express is that I want the Events where Data CONTAINS the word "Error" . . . how do I express that? I've Goggled around, but I can find no references to Regular Expression like pattern matching in the Event Viewer. XPath has "contains", but if Event Viewer will support it, I cannot seem to figure out the syntax for invoking it.

I have a macro which I've been using to merge two cells together in a word table, but what I want to do is to get the cursor to move down by one cell, so that I can repeatedly press the shortcut key to repeat the command over and over. Installing a new SQL Server instance fails

I've previously in my setup installed SQL Server Express 2005. Now I've switched to SQL Server Express 2008. I updated the command line parameters to those documented for the latter. If the comp already has SQL Server Express 2008 installed, my installer should create a new instance. The command line parameters are as follows: /ACTION=Install /FEATURES=SQLEngine /QS /INSTANCENAME=ABCD /SECURITYMODE=SQL /SAPWD=CunningPassword The requested instance name does not exist on the target machine. This will end in an error -2068643838. The logs show the following error: "No features were installed during the setup execution. The requested features may already be installed." If I remove the /QS parameter and try to install interactively, I'll get as far as the Feature Selection page. The UI shows three options, Instance Features, Shared Features and Redistributable Features. Whatever I select, clicking Next results in the same error (There are validation errors on this page). Any ideas anyone?

Can you please tell me if anything I am doing wrong here ?

Where can I find logs for SFTP?

I'm trying to set up sftp-server but the client is getting an error, Connection closed by server with exitcode 1 /var/log/auth.log (below) doesn't help much, how can I find out what the error is? I'm running Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS sshd[27236]: Accepted password for theuser from (my ip) port 13547 ssh2 sshd[27236]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session opened for user theuser by (uid=0) sshd[27300]: subsystem request for sftp sshd[27236]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session closed for user theuser Update: I've been prodding this for a while now, I've got the sftp command on another server giving me a more useful error. Request for subsystem 'sftp' failed on channel 0 Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer Everything I've found on the net suggests this id a problem with sftp-server but when I remove the chroot from sshd config I can access the system. I assume this means sftp-server is accessible and set up correctly.

Hello, I'm having trouble installing mod_xsendfile on MAMP. I was able to seem to load the module at least. Accessing SQL with the PC name not the IP

I'm trying to connect to a SQL instance (default instance) on a machine. When using the IP of the machine it connects to the machine. Using the name of the machine on that machine you are able to establish a connection to the SQL instance but using the machine name on another PC the connection cannot be established. And gives the error A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. ... (Microsoft Server, Error: 10060) The machine that I am trying to establish the connection from can ping the machine with the SQL instance both on the IP and on the name. Why would this be and how can I fix it? Edit: pinging the name does resolve the correct IP. Pinging the FQDN also works correctly.

SQL Server 2008, not enough disk space

Hello, I'm executing sql query on my database. I have SQL Server 2008 installed on my D harddrive which has 55 GB free space. I have also C drive which has sth like 150 MB free (right now). While executing that query on quite a big table (16 GB) I have an error: An error occurred while executing batch. Error message is: Not enough disk space. I would like to know if there is any possibility that I can make SQL Server to use D drive instead of C Or maybe there is any other problem with what I'm doing ? Thanks for help

Problem reinstalling GRUB

I have a PC that dual-boots Ubuntu and Windows Vista. I recently reinstalled Windows Vista after some problems and now the bootloader's gone. I've been trying to follow this Ubuntu community guide but it's not working. I have Grub Legacy according to the first part (I installed Ubuntu 9.04 originally then upgraded). From the 9.04 LiveCD, I ran this: sudo grub-install --root-directory=/media/disk /dev/sda5 sda5 is the Ubuntu partition. I get this output: grub-probe: error: Cannot open `/boot/grub/device.map` [: 494: =: unexpected operator Installing GRUB to /dev/sda5 as (hd0,4)... Installation finished.No errors reported. This is the contents...(etc) (hd0) /dev/sda In the bit below, when I run setup (hd0) I get an error, "Error 17: Cannot mount selected partition" Little help?

SharePoint 2010 deployment problem after added a new server to existing farm

I have SharePoint 2010 farm with one server. I'm developing some features in a sharepoint farm solution (not sandbox because there are some user rights problem). All feature scopes are set to "Site". I can deploy the solution to SharePoint with no problem. I added a new web front-end server to my existing farm. Then when I try deploy my solution, VS2010 shows this error: Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Feature with Id 'xxx' is not installed in this farm, and cannot be added to this scope I login with AD administrator account to development server. Administrator account is in site collection admins on the target web application. The farm account is in local administrators group. Is there a solution for this error?

MySQL Server Not Starting on Boot

I have installed MySQL on a RHEL 5 server and I'm wanting to set it up so that the server starts on boot. I've ran the "chkconfig --list mysqld" command and it's currently running on levels 3, 4 and 5. However, when I reboot the server, no mysqld process is started. Although I was able to PPTP VPN in on 321.321.39.10 (interface) which is the outside interface IP address. and it is static mapped to 172.21.37.20. So I'm thinking there must be something wrong with NAT somewhere? no response from 321.321.39.11 to 321.321.39.14.. Could anyone look over the config and please let me know what I've done wrong? Is there something I've missed? well obviously but.. please help! Thank you.

apache returning "The connection was reset"

One of my dedicated servers had some network issue today and the data center has to replace some router. Since then the sites on that server returns "The connection was reset" error most of the time. I tried installing nginx and it opens better, but it still shows the error sometimes. Everything in the config seems normal, what could be causing this error? UPDATE: Just noticed that in whm apache status there are always only 1 requests currently being processed, 8 idle workers. I know for sure the server received thousands of requests per minute. What could be limiting this to such a low number?

static index.html file nginx

We are using nginx with php-fpm. We plan to make first page static (generate html file). if we have 100 concurrent connections, how we can handle file regeneration? basically we need generate new file index_new.html, then delete index.html, and then move index_new.html to index.html. What happens when index.html file was deleted? User gets 404 error? Or nginx handles file from OS cache? One idea is to tell nginx, that 404 error is index_new.html and then not to move index_new to index, but copy. But i don't like idea about 404 error. Thanks.

I have an e-commerce site with 300,000 products and 20,000 categories. It is slow and currently in production. I decided to install Varnish to speed up. The trouble is that during installation, I got a Guru Meditation. I've been updating my amazon ec2 micro instance every month till now. when i try to "yum update" i receive this error : zlib-1.2.5-7.11.amzn1.x86_64 has installed conflicts libxml2 < ('0', '2.7.7', None): libxml2-2.7.6-4.12.amzn1.x86_64 zlib-1.2.5-7.11.amzn1.x86_64 is a duplicate with zlib-1.2.3-27.9.amzn1.x86_64 yum update output: http://pastebin.com/Dfq0yphN I've tried to update separately zlib and libxml2 zlib: same "duplicate" error. libxml2: Transaction Check Error: package libxml2-2.7.8-10.24.amzn1.x86_64 is already installed what can i do?
