    I'm getting lots of leaks in my code, but none of the leaks point to any of my code (they are all UIKit methods). I'm running 3.0. Could someone tell me how I go about figuring out where these leaks are coming from?

  • Which class will be instanciated

    Say I have 2 subclasses from UIViewController, class A and class B. In Main nib file an object is representing class A and it is set to load file from Secondary nib file. The owner of Secondary nib is of class B. The question is - from which class an object in Main nib file will be instanciated once the nib files unarchived in the memory? The reason this question arised is that I have to take care myself if such reference to external NIB file present, to ensure that the first nib's object and second nib's owner is same. Please correct me if my statement is wrong.

    Hi, In my application I m using following coding convention to open my default screen :-- AppDelegate *ptrDefaultScreen = (AppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication]delegate]; [self.navigationController presentModalViewController:ptrDefaultScreen.FrmFlashScreenLink animated:YES]; but when I move to other screen after default screen ,my default screen is still exists even i used [self dismissModelViewController:YES]; to dimiss default screen from view. where I m wrong I want my default screen will be completely removed from view. Is any other way to call default screen before actual application. Please help me out.Thanks in advance

  • data loading - app launching on tableview

    hi, i encounter an issue with my application. On one hand when my app launches, the first view displayed is a tableview within a tableviewcontroller. On the other hand my app calls a web service to collect data. These methods are in MyAppDelegate\applicationDidFinishLaunching. The thing is that my tableview is made of custom cells that need data from the web service. I noticed that the view (with the tableview) is launched first and then MyAppDelegate\applicationDidFinishLaunchin is executed. As a result the labels of my custom cells are all equal to null as my arrays aren't filled yet by the web service. I would like to know the proper way to make it. If anyone has an idea please tell me. Wallou

  • Any point in subclassing UIButton to create a custom looking button?

    I want to create a set of buttons that would work and feel very much like the Metro-style tiles that are available on Windows Phones. I would like to allow the user to tap them to access their underlying functionality (open a modal or something or that sort). I'm concerned that subclassing UIButton will not get me there. I need square corners and dynamic content inside the tiles themselves. The posts I've found around SO seem to suggest that subclassing a UIButton would not be a good idea for several reasons and that I should instead use UIView. That reply is from 2010, and I have no idea if in the 2+ years since then there have been considerable changes to how one would achieve that effect. Most users these days will have iOS 5.1+ if not 6.0 soon. Let's say I do go the UIView route. Should I implement UIResponder's touch events or should I instead go the UITapGestureRecognizer route? What's the better practice in 2012? Thank you!

    When I try returning the count of my newsItems array it breaks my application. I used NSLog to find out what the value of the newsItems count was when I returned 1.     I have 1 scrollview that contain 18 buttons. 1) when a user taps on any button, a button is added to a second UIScrollView. 2) Then, when a user taps on that button on second scrollview the button is removed from second scrollview. both uiscrollviews contain a list of their buttons. Afree both of these steps, I have to reload my scrollview. Can I do the same task by adding observer, so that it will automatically reload when any action done on button, and if yes then how?

    Hello I have a database in which I am inserting data by parsing an XML document. Populating the data using Navigation bar control view. I have various NSObjects defined in a class and have populated the data using NSMutableArray. Using UITableview I have populated the data. My question is : I have populated the data with the sections defined in it as alphabets so I have total of 26 sections. Each section has data in form of name. Now when I use cellforrowatIndexpath it does not give me the correct index for row and section together.   • How do I push a new controller via UIButton, nested in a UIScrollView?

    Hello - I have my views that are part of a tabBar. Each view has a navigationController. In one of my views I have an embeded xib component. This is a scrolling view with UIButtons inside it. I want to slide in another view, inside the navigationController when a person taps the button. I can get the taps, etc. BUT, I can't figure out how to find the controlling navigationController of that page to push the new view into. Nothing seems to work that I have tried. IS this possible?     I'm building an easy app for chatting, each time I type in a sentence, the sentences is added into an array(which used to load the table view in cellForRowAtIndexPath delegate method), then I reload the table view.     Hi guys, I've some really simple code that checks if my bool is == YES but it does not ever enter. But it never enters the first first part but jumps down to the 'else' I cant see for the life of me what the problem is. -.- Anybody able to clue me in?     hi friends, i have a problem while adding button to the navigation bar.. My application consist of two view controllers added to the viewControllers array of a tabBarController. Inturn this tabBarController is added to the viewControllers array of a navigationController. In one of the views i have a textfield for entering dates . On the tap of this textfield the datepicker will pop up. simultaneously i want to display a done button on the navigation bar. how can i do this... i tried using self.tabBarController.navigationController.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = self.doneButton; But this is not working...   • Can I play any Buffer only once at a given time?

    From the OpenAL documentation: The basic OpenAL objects are a Listener, a Source, and a Buffer. There can be a large number of Buffers, which contain audio data. Each buffer can be attached to one or more Sources My problem is, that I have one sound file which I need to play multiple times per second, at the same time. The sound is 2 seconds long. So it will overlap. Would I need multiple filled buffers for this (= multiple times that sound in memory)? If I would attach one Buffer to multiple Sources, would I be able to play the sound 10 times, overlapping itself, with just one copy in memory? Or would I still have to deal with 10 copies of that sound in memory?
