  • How do I search for a phrase using search logic?

    - by fivetwentysix
Imagine case scenario, you have a list of recipes that have ingredients as a text. You want to see how many recipes contain "sesame oil". The problem with default searchlogic searching using Recipe.ingredients_like("sesame oil") is that any recipe with sesame OR oil would come up, when I'm searching for sesame+oil.

  • Backbone.js Adding Model to Collection Issue

    - by jtmgdevelopment
I am building a test application in Backbone.js (my first app using Backbone). The app goes like this: Load Data from server "Plans" Build list of plans and show to screen There is a button to add a new plan Once new plan is added, add to collection ( do not save to server as of now ) redirect to index page and show the new collection ( includes the plan you just added) My issue is with item 5. When I save a plan, I add the model to the collection then redirect to the initial view. At this point, I fetch data from the server. When I fetch data from the server, this overwrites my collection and my added model is gone. How can I prevent this from happening? I have found a way to do this but it is definitely not the correct way at all. Below you will find my code examples for this. Thanks for the help. PlansListView View: var PlansListView = Backbone.View.extend({ tagName : 'ul', initialize : function() { _.bindAll( this, 'render', 'close' ); //reset the view if the collection is reset this.collection.bind( 'reset', this.render , this ); }, render : function() { _.each( this.collection.models, function( plan ){ $( this.el ).append( new PlansListItemView({ model: plan }).render().el ); }, this ); return this; }, close : function() { $( this.el ).unbind(); $( this.el ).remove(); } });//end NewPlanView Save Method var NewPlanView = Backbone.View.extend({ tagName : 'section', template : _.template( $( '#plan-form-template' ).html() ), events : { 'click button.save' : 'savePlan', 'click button.cancel' : 'cancel' }, intialize: function() { _.bindAll( this, 'render', 'save', 'cancel' ); }, render : function() { $( '#container' ).append( $( this.el ).html(this.template( this.model.toJSON() )) ); return this; }, savePlan : function( event ) { this.model.set({ name : 'bad plan', date : 'friday', desc : 'blah', id : Math.floor(Math.random()*11), total_stops : '2' }); this.collection.add( this.model ); app.navigate('', true ); event.preventDefault(); }, cancel : function(){} }); Router (default method): index : function() { this.container.empty(); var self = this; //This is a hack to get this to work //on default page load fetch all plans from the server //if the page has loaded ( this.plans is defined) set the updated plans collection to the view //There has to be a better way!! • Intercepting touch events on activity and button on Android

    - by hgpc
I have an Android activity with an ImageButton. I would like to execute some logic when the button is clicked and show a different image for the pressed state, but also receive the touch event on the activity. By default only the button receives the touch event. If I set the clickable attribute of the button to false then only the activity receives the touch event. What's the best way to receive the touch event in both the activity and the button?

  • Image Resize Aliasing in WPF v4 but not under v3.5

    - by McKAMEY
I am using WPF for an image resizing pipeline which has been working beautifully under .NET v3.5. I just upgraded the project to target v4.0 and now all of my resized images are heavily aliased. None of the image pipeline code has changed. Has a default setting changed between v3.5 and v4.0? How do I control the dithering of my resized bitmap images in WPF?

  • Activity in Android

    - by leduchuy89vn
Normally, a Java p'rogram starts from an object, then that object will create some GUI objects (window) and call the "Show" method So, is there any way to do the same thing in Android, since, by default in Android, a program runs from an object created by a class which extended from Activity class?

  • What should a Django user know when moving from MySQL to PostgreSQL?

    - by tmitchell
Most of my experience with Django thus far has been with MySQL and mysqldb. For a new app I'm writing, I'm dipping my toe in the PostgreSQL water, now that I have seen the light. While writing a data import script, I stumbled upon an issue with the default autocommit behavior. I would guess there are other "gotchas" that might crop up. What else should I be on the lookout for?

  • Injecting jQuery into a page fails when using Google AJAX Libraries API

    - by jakemcgraw
I'd like to inject jQuery into a page using the Google AJAX Libraries API, I've come up with the following solution: http://my-domain.com/inject-jquery.js: ;((function(){ // Call this function once jQuery is available var func = function() { jQuery("body").prepend('<div>jQuery Rocks!</div>'); }; // Detect if page is already using jQuery if (!window.jQuery) { var done = false; var head = document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0]; var script = document.createElement("script"); script.src = "http://www.google.com/jsapi"; script.onload = script.onreadystatechange = function(){ // Once Google AJAX Libraries API is loaded ... if (!done && (!this.readyState || this.readyState == "loaded" || this.readyState == "complete")) { done = true; // ... load jQuery ... window.google.load("jquery", "1", {callback:function(){ jQuery.noConflict(); // ... jQuery available, fire function. func(); }}); // Prevent IE memory leaking script.onload = script.onreadystatechange = null; head.removeChild(script); } } // Load Google AJAX Libraries API head.appendChild(script); // Page already using jQuery, fire function } else { func(); } })()); The script would then be included in a page on a separate domain: http://some-other-domain.com/page.html: <html> <head> <title>This is my page</title> </head> <body> <h1>This is my page.</h1> <script src="http://my-domain.com/inject-jquery.js"></script> </body> </html> In Firefox 3 I get the following error: Module: 'jquery' must be loaded before DOM onLoad! jsapi (line 16) The error appears to be specific to the Google AJAX Libraries API, as I've seen others use a jQuery bookmarklet to inject jQuery into the current page. My question: Is there a method for injecting the Google AJAX Libraries API / jQuery into a page regardless of the onload/onready state?

For example, I can set a style to e.srcElement But, how can I later access this element to (for example) reset its style ? And how can I know at which place in the dom tree it is ? I want to be able to situate it in the whole page dump. Many thanks.
