• Ruby on rails form validation issue

  Am pretty new to ROR. Need help in Rails form validation. Hey, am using rails 2.3.5 I have a basic validates_presence_of for the fields in the form. Now when i don't enter field details, i do get an error, but the error is displayed as: {{count}} errors prohibited this {{model}} from being saved There were problems with the following fields: {{attribute}} {{message}} {{attribute}} {{message}} Any help will be highly appreciated.

• Different information domains in DB

  Hi, I have a database for my personal site and at the moment it is storing different domains of information (Eg cv, CMS schema, and more, all in one DB). I have noticed that sets of tables (eg all for one domain) have no relationship to other groups of tables as they are completely unrelated. What implication does this have on database design? I can assume this is a time I need to think about having 1 DB.

• Win2k3 password Authentication using LDAP in VC++

  Hi, I need to implement the Win2k3 password validation policy. As my application resides on Win2k3 cane we validate the password directly with windows domain password by using LDAP. This is because application design does not want to store 8/more password entry into DB and validate new password against that. As Windows already does same thing and using LDAP we can lookup into windows server. Can any one please let me know LDAP API to fulfill above requirement in VC++.

The same Apache instance will be the front end to the sites which allows me to use the same domain name.   in a double-submitted cookie csrf prevention scheme, is it necessary for the server to provide the cookie? it seems i could have javascript on the clients page generate and set a cookie "anti_csrf", then double submit that (once as a cookie, done by the browser, and once in the body of the request). a foreign domain would not be able to read or write the "anti_csrf" cookie to include it in the body of a request. is this secure, or am i overlooking something?

• Where are Silverlight assemblies stored when a xap file is run?

  We currently have a XAP file which contains Foo.dll, and another XAP file (with a completely different name) which contains an updated version Foo.dll (but the same version number). When we run the second XAP file, it looks as though the Silverlight runtime on the client, is picking up the old version of Foo.dll from the first XAP file. Anyone know where the Silverlight runtime unzips the xap file before running its content? Or if the runtime executes on a single app domain which could explain these errors?
