    I have the following list: [('Steve Buscemi', 'Mr. Pink'), ('Chris Penn', 'Nice Guy Eddie'), ...] I need to convert it to a string in the following format: "(Steve Buscemi, Mr. Pink), (Chris Penn, Nice Guy Eddit), ..." I tried doing str = ', '.join(item for item in items) but run into the following error: TypeError: sequence item 0: expected string, tuple found How would I do the above formatting?

  • Outlook Search starting date

    I am having a problem with Outlook 2003 search on 2 desktops - 1 XP, 1 Windows 7. They are both connected to the same exchange 2007 server. There are several other users connected to the same server, inside the lan and outside using RPC none of whom are having this issue. When the user searches Outlook, search starts from the date Outlook OST file was created and then searches more recent items. The result is that if user is searching for some phrase, e.g. "Blade" in their inbox folder, search results from months ago are returned first then the more recent results. If i delete the OST file and restart Outlook it rebuilds a new one, and resynchronizes normally, then search works normally again, however approximately 6 weeks later the problem will start again (see second paragraph). Anyone experience this ? Any Suggestions ?

    In a Silverlight 4 project I have a class that extends Canvas: public class AppendageCanvas : Canvas { public float Friction { get; set; } public float Restitution { get; set; } public float Density { get; set; } } I use this canvas in Blend by dragging it onto another control and setting the custom properties: When I run the app, I get the following error when InitializeComponent is called on the control containing my custom canvas: I'm not sure why Silverlight isn't able to convert this property from it's string representation in Xaml, to the float that it is. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Crystal report - Conversion from text to decimal ?

    I have a crystal report, which takes data from an XML template. For a particular field of report, say 'Cost' the database stored procedure send data to XSD file in decimal format , but when the crystal report displays data picking from XSD, it is rounded off. When i right click on other data fields of report, I can see 'Field:table1.columnname',. But when i click on 'Cost' field, it shows 'Text:'. To my understanding, this is a text field which is mapped to pick data from XSD and since the type is text, it gives result in text hence truncating the decimal. Please suggest how can I get decimals here. P.S: This code was created by someone else, so i have no idea on what they had set at that time. I have to fix it and i have no clue about it.

    Does anyone have a code snippet or a class that will take a long long and turn it into a 16 byte Hex string? I'm looking to turn data like this long long decimalRepresentation = 1719886131591410351; and turn it into this //Base 16 Hex Output: 17DE435307A07300 The %x operator doesn't want to work for me NSLog(@"Hex: %x",decimalRepresentation); //console : "Hex: 7a072af" As you can see that's not even close.     Hi, I am fetching a RSS, in which i receive the following Date stamp: 2010-05-10T06:11:14.000Z Now i am using NSDateFormatter to parse this datetime stamp. [parseFormatter setDateFormat:@"yyyy-MM-dTH:m:s.z"]; But its not working fine if just remove the time stamp part it works for the date [parseFormatter setDateFormat:@"yyyy-MM-d"]; But if i add the rest of the stuff it returns nil. We are moving our static documentation to DokuWiki - which works pretty good - and want to keep the links. Now it would be good to have a method (or doclet) that exports the JavaDoc directly into DokuWiki - or a very near alternative. Question: Is there something like this or do you know a method to do just that?

    If I output a formatted date as follows: DateTime.Parse("2010-06-02T15:26:37.789 +01:00").ToString("HH:mm:sszzz") I get the expected result: 15:26:37+01:00 However, if I parse the same date, convert to UTC and output with the same format as follows: DateTime.Parse("2010-06-02T15:26:37.789 +01:00").ToUniversalTime().ToString("HH:mm:sszzz") I get this: 14:26:37+01:00 Now those two dates, the local and UTC versions, should be exactly the same but the outputted text represents two different times. Why is this?

    I have a web service implemented as EJB. One of it's methods returns Map<String,String>. On client side I use php : $client = new SoapClient($wsdl,array("cache_wsdl"=>WSDL_CACHE_NONE)); $result = $client->foo($params); Everything works fine, but I would like $result-return to be an associative array. Now it looks like array(10) { [0]=> object(stdClass)#46 (2) { ["key"]=> string(4) "key1" ["value"]=> string(4) "val1" } .... I want array(10) {"key1"=>"value1", "key2"=>"value2", .... } The obvious solution is to iterate through this array and create a new array $arr = array(); foreach ($result->return as $val) $arr[$val->key] = $val->value; But I wonder if there is a better way to get an assosicative array ?
