  • Wired component null in seam EntityHome action

    - by rangalo
I have a custom EntityHome class. I wire the dependent entity in the wire method, but when I call the action (persist) the wired component is always null. What could be the reason, similar code generated by seam gen is apparently working. Here is the entity class. I have overrden persist method to log the value of the wired element. @Name("roundHome") @Scope(ScopeType.CONVERSATION) public class RoundHome extends EntityHome<Round>{ @In(required = false) private Golfer currentGolfer; @In(create = true) private TeeSetHome teeSetHome; @Override public String persist() { logger.info("Persist called"); if (null != getInstance().getTeeSet() ) { logger.info("teeSet not null in persist"); } else { logger.info("teeSet null in persist"); // wire(); } String retVal = super.persist(); //To change body of overridden methods use File | Settings | File Templates. return retVal; } @Logger private Log logger; public void wire() { logger.info("wire called"); TeeSet teeSet = teeSetHome.getDefinedInstance(); if (null != teeSet) { getInstance().setTeeSet(teeSet); logger.info("Successfully wired the teeSet instance with color: " + teeSet.getColor()); } } public boolean isWired() { logger.info("is wired called"); if(null == getInstance().getTeeSet()) { logger.info("wired teeSet instance is null, the button will be disabled !"); return false; } else { logger.info("wired teeSet instance is NOT null, the button will be enabled !"); logger.info("teeSet color: "+getInstance().getTeeSet().getColor()); return true; } } @RequestParameter public void setRoundId(Long id) { super.setId(id); } @Override protected Round createInstance() { Round round = super.createInstance(); round.setGolfer(currentGolfer); round.setDate(new java.sql.Date(System.currentTimeMillis())); return round; } } Here the xhtml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE composition PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <ui:composition xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:s="http://jboss.com/products/seam/taglib" xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:a="http://richfaces.org/a4j" xmlns:rich="http://richfaces.org/rich" template="layout/template.xhtml"> <ui:define name="body"> <h:form id="roundform"> <rich:panel> <f:facet name="header>"> #{roundHome.managed ? • Helping using FirePHP to debug a .php application

    - by Angela
Hi, just set up FirePHP and using a framework called Qcodo / Qcubed. Has anyone heard of these on SO? Been having challenges debugging -- trying to do a fairly simple new() and save() and then output via Ajax but not getting any kind of responsiveness from errors. Any help for us, two of us have checked it out but can't seem to get a response. Thanks! BTW, here's the class which seems to be creating the problems: http://github.com/allyforce/AF-upload/blob/master/Library/Target1.class.php

  • Automatic database schema generation and migration with Perl

    - by pistacchio
In Ror or Django or web2py you can "describe" a database (as a set of classes that remaps to tables) and the framework (having being provided with a connection string to the desired database) generates the tables, fields, relations and in the case of RoR and web2py it also keeps it up-to-date (eg, removing a class drops the table, adding a property to the class triggers an "alter table add" etc). Is there any Perl module that does the same? Eg, it takes the YAML/XML/JSON description of a database as input and modifies/generates the database schema accordingly?

  • Using Complex datatype with python SUDS client

    - by sachin
hi, I am trying to call webservice from python client using SUDS. When I call a function with a complex data type as input parameter, it is not passed correctly, but complex data type is getting returned correctly froma webservice call. Webservice Type: Soap Binding 1.1 Document/Literal Webserver: Weblogic 10.3 Python Version: 2.6.5, SUDS version: 0.3.9 here is the code I am using: Python Client: from suds.client import Client url = 'http://192.168.1.3:7001/WebServiceSecurityOWSM-simple_ws-context-root/SimpleServicePort?WSDL' client = Client(url) print client #simple function with no operation on input... result = client.service.sopHello() print result result = client.service.add10(10) print result params = client.factory.create('paramBean') print params params.intval = 10 params.longval = 20 params.strval = 'string value' #print "params" print params try: result = client.service.printParamBean(params) print result except WebFault, e: print e try: result = client.service.modifyParamBean(params) print result except WebFault, e: print e print params webservice java class: package simple_ws; import javax.jws.Oneway; import javax.jws.WebMethod; import javax.jws.WebService; import javax.jws.soap.SOAPBinding; public class SimpleService { public SimpleService() { } public void sopHello(int i) { System.out.println("sopHello: hello"); } public int add10(int i) { System.out.println("add10:"); return 10+i; } public void printParamBean(ParamBean pb) { System.out.println(pb); } public ParamBean modifyParamBean(ParamBean pb) { System.out.println(pb); pb.setIntval(pb.getIntval()+10); pb.setStrval(pb.getStrval()+"blah blah"); pb.setLongval(pb.getLongval()+200); return pb; } } and the bean Class: package simple_ws; public class ParamBean { int intval; String strval; long longval; public void setIntval(int intval) { this.intval = intval; } public int getIntval() { return intval; } public void setStrval(String strval) { this.strval = strval; } public String getStrval() { return strval; } public void setLongval(long longval) { this.longval = longval; } public long getLongval() { return longval; } public String toString() { String stri = "\nInt val:" +intval; String strstr = "\nstrval val:" +strval; String strl = "\nlong val:" +longval; return stri+strstr+strl; } } so, as issue is like this: on call: client.service.printParamBean(params) in python client, output on server side is: Int val:0 strval val:null long val:0 but on call: client.service.modifyParamBean(params) Client output is: (reply){ intval = 10 longval = 200 strval = "nullblah blah" } What am i doing wrong here??

  • How can I create specialized builders for semantic layout in rails?

    - by Paul Alexander
This is how I'd like to write markup in say index.html.erb <%= page_for "Super Cool Page" do |p| %> <%= p.header do %> Ruby is Cool <% end %> <%= p.body do %> Witty discourse on Ruby. <% end %> <% if page.has_sidebar? %> <%= p.sidebar do %> <ul><li>Option 1</li></ul> <% end %> <% end %> <% end %> Which would output <div class="page"> <header><h1>Super Cool Page</h1></header> <section> Witty discourse on Ruby. </section> </div> and when page.has_sidebar? is true <div class="page"> <header><h1>Super Cool Page</h1></header> <asside><ul><li>Option 1</li></ul></asside> <section> Witty discourse on Ruby. </section> </div> I've taken a look at the FormHelper class in rails for guidance, but it seems like I'd have to duplicate a lot of work which I'm trying to avoid. I'm really just trying to figure out where to hang the classes/modules/methods in the framework and whit kind of object |p| should be. My first inclination was to create a PageBuilder class that implements header, body and sidebar methods. But I got stuck on the rendering pipeline to get everything output just right. Is there a gem that already provides this type of semantic generation? If not I'd love any insight on how to set this up.

  • how to implement IOC without a global static service?

    - by Michel
Hi, we want to use Unity for IOC. All i've seen is the implementation that there is one global static service which holds a reference to the Unity container, which registers all interface/class combinations and every class asks that object: give me an implementation for Ithis or IThat. Frequently i see a response that this pattern is not good because it leads to a dependency from ALL classes to this service. But what i don't see often, is: what is the alternative way? Michel

  • Rails ActiveResource Associations

    - by brad
I have some ARes models (see below) that I'm trying to use associations with (which seems to be wholly undocumented and maybe not possible but I thought I'd give it a try) So on my service side, my ActiveRecord object will render something like render :xml => @group.to_xml(:include => :customers) (see generated xml below) The models Group and Customers are HABTM On my ARes side, I'm hoping that it can see the <customers> xml attribute and automatically populate the .customers attribute of that Group object , but the has_many etc methods aren't supported (at least as far as I can tell) So I'm wondering how ARes does it's reflection on the XML to set the attributes of an object. In AR for instance I could create a def customers=(customer_array) and set it myself, but this doesn't seem to work in ARes. One suggestion I found for an "association" is the just have a method def customers Customer.find(:all, :conditions => {:group_id => self.id}) end But this has the disadvantage that it makes a second service call to look up those customers... not cool I'd like my ActiveResource model to see that the customers attribute in the XML and automatically populate my model. Anyone have any experience with this?? # My Services class Customer < ActiveRecord::Base has_and_belongs_to_many :groups end class Group < ActiveRecord::Base has_and_belongs_to_many :customer end # My ActiveResource accessors class Customer < ActiveResource::Base; end class Group < ActiveResource::Base; end # XML from /groups/:id?customers=true <group> <domain>some.domain.com</domain> <id type="integer">266</id> <name>Some Name</name> <customers type="array"> <customer> <active type="boolean">true</active> <id type="integer">1</id> <name>Some Name</name> </customer> <customer> <active type="boolean" nil="true"></active> <id type="integer">306</id> <name>Some Other Name</name> </customer> </customers> </group>

  • Flex DownloadProgressBar preloader override

    - by Shawn Simon
I'm watching this video, which is pretty good http://www.gotoandlearn.com/play?id=108 It shows how to inherit from DownloadProgressBar to create a customer preloader for your flex app. The DownloadProgressBar class has an overridable getter for the property 'preloader.' Isn't this poor design? What does a property called preloader have anything to do with a class for a DownloadProgressBar?

  • Configuring Hibernate logging using Log4j XML config file?

    - by James McMahon
I haven't been able to find any documentation on how to configure Hibernate's logging using the XML style configuration file for Log4j. Is this even possible or do I have use a properties style configuration file to control Hibernate's logging? If anyone has any information or links to documentation it would appreciated. EDIT: Just to clarify, I am looking for example of the actual XML syntax to control Hibernate. EDIT2: Here is what I have in my XML config file. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <!DOCTYPE log4j:configuration SYSTEM "log4j.dtd"> <log4j:configuration xmlns:log4j="http://jakarta.apache.org/log4j/"> <appender name="console" class="org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender"> <param name="Threshold" value="info"/> <param name="Target" value="System.out"/> <layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout"> <param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d{ABSOLUTE} [%t] %-5p %c{1} - %m%n"/> </layout> </appender> <appender name="rolling-file" class="org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender"> <param name="file" value="Program-Name.log"/> <param name="MaxFileSize" value="1000KB"/> <!-- Keep one backup file --> <param name="MaxBackupIndex" value="4"/> <layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout"> <param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d [%t] %-5p %l - %m%n"/> </layout> </appender> <root> <priority value ="debug" /> <appender-ref ref="console" /> <appender-ref ref="rolling-file" /> </root> </log4j:configuration> Logging works fine but I am looking for a way to step down and control the hibernate logging in way that separate from my application level logging, as it currently is flooding my logs. I have found examples of using the preference file to do this, I was just wondering how I can do this in a XML file.

  • mysql_connect() causes page to not display (WAMP)

    - by VOIDHand
I currently have a website running MySQL and PHP in which this is all working. I've tried installing WAMPServer to be able to work on the site on my own computer, but I have been having issues trying to get the site to work correctly. HTML and PHP files work correctly (by going to http://localhost/index.php, etc.). But some of the pages display "This Webpage is not available" (in Chrome) or "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage", which leads me to think there is an error is the server, as when the page doesn't exist, it typically dispays "Oops! This link appears to be broken" or IE's standard 404 page. Each page in my site has an include() call to set up an instance of a class to handle all database transactions. This class opens the connection to the database in its constructor. I have found commenting out the contents of the constructor will allow the page to load, although this understandably causes errors later in the page. This is the contents of the included file: class dbAccess { private $db; function __construct() { $this->db = mysql_connect("externalURL","user","password") or die ("Connection for database not found."); mysql_select_db("dbName", $this->db) or die ("Database not selected"); } ... } As a note for what's happening here. I'm attempting to use the database on my site, rather than the local machine. The actual values of externalURL, dbName, user, and password work when I plug them into my database software and the file fine of the site, so I don't think the issue is with those values themselves, but rather some setting with Apache or Wamp. The issue persists if I try a local database as well. This is an excerpt of my Apache error log for one attempt at logging into the site: [Wed Apr 14 15:32:54 2010] [notice] Parent: child process exited with status 255 -- Restarting. [Wed Apr 14 15:32:54 2010] [notice] Apache/2.2.11 (Win32) PHP/5.3.0 configured -- resuming normal operations [Wed Apr 14 15:32:54 2010] [notice] Server built: Dec 10 2008 00:10:06 [Wed Apr 14 15:32:54 2010] [notice] Parent: Created child process 1756 [Wed Apr 14 15:32:55 2010] [notice] Child 1756: Child process is running [Wed Apr 14 15:32:55 2010] [notice] Child 1756: Acquired the start mutex. [Wed Apr 14 15:32:55 2010] [notice] Child 1756: Starting 64 worker threads. [Wed Apr 14 15:32:55 2010] [notice] Child 1756: Starting thread to listen on port 80. For the first line, isLoggedIn (from the first line) is a method of the class above. Assuming that the connection works, this error should disappear. I've tried searching for solutions online, but haven't been able to find anything to help. If you need any further information to help solve this issue, feel free to ask for it. (One more note, I don't even have Skype on this computer, so I can't see it being an issue, as this conflict seems to be the default response for any Wamp issue.) [Edit: Removed entry from the error log as it was solved as an unrelated issue]

  • Rtti accessing fields and properties in complex data structures

    - by Coco
As already discussed in Rtti data manipulation and consistency in Delphi 2010 a consistency between the original data and rtti values can be reached by accessing members by using a pair of TRttiField and an instance pointer. This would be very easy in case of a simple class with only basic member types (like e.g. integers or strings). But what if we have structured field types? Here is an example: TIntArray = array [0..1] of Integer; TPointArray = array [0..1] of Point; TExampleClass = class private FPoint : TPoint; FAnotherClass : TAnotherClass; FIntArray : TIntArray; FPointArray : TPointArray; public property Point : TPoint read FPoint write FPoint; //.... and so on end; For an easy access of Members I want to buil a tree of member-nodes, which provides an interface for getting and setting values, getting attributes, serializing/deserializing values and so on. TMemberNode = class private FMember : TRttiMember; FParent : TMemberNode; FInstance : Pointer; public property Value : TValue read GetValue write SetValue; //uses FInstance end; So the most important thing is getting/setting the values, which is done - as stated before - by using the GetValue and SetValue functions of TRttiField. So what is the Instance for FPoint members? Let's say Parent is the Node for TExample class, where the instance is known and the member is a field, then Instance would be: FInstance := Pointer (Integer (Parent.Instance) + TRttiField (FMember).Offset); But what if I want to know the Instance for a record property? There is no offset in this case. So is there a better solution to get a pointer to the data? For the FAnotherClass member, the Instance would be: FInstance := Parent.Value.AsObject; So far the solution works, and data manipulation can be done by using rtti or the original types, without losing information. But things get harder, when working with arrays. Especially the second array of Points. How can I get the instance for the members of points in this case?

  • Android Phonegap - TIMEOUT ERROR when trying to set a WebViewClient

    - by Spike777
    I'm working with Android and Phonegap, and at the moment I'm having trouble with one simple thing. I need to setup a webViewClient to the PhoneGap webView in order to capture the URL of a page finished and to work with that. This is the code: public class PhoneGapTest extends DroidGap { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); super.setBooleanProperty("loadInWebView", true); super.clearCache(); super.keepRunning = false; super.loadUrl("file:///android_asset/www/index.html"); super.appView.setWebViewClient(new WebViewClient(){ @Override public void onPageStarted(WebView view, String url, Bitmap bitmap) { Log.i("TEST", "onPageStarted: " + url); } @Override public void onPageFinished(WebView view, String url) { Log.i("TEST", "onPageFinished: " + url); } }); } That code doesn't seems to work, the page never loads and I get a TIMEOUT ERROR, but if I remove the "setWebViewClient" part the page loads perfectly. I saw that there is a class CordovaWebViewClient, do I have to use that instead of WebViewClient? I found this way on the web: this.appView.setWebViewClient(new CordovaWebViewClient(this){ @Override public boolean shouldOverrideUrlLoading(final WebView view, String url) { Log.i("BugTest", "shouldOverrideUrlLoading: " + url); return true; } @Override public void onPageStarted(WebView view, String url, Bitmap bitmap) { Log.i("TEST", "onPageStarted: " + url); } @Override public void onPageFinished(WebView view, String url) { Log.i("TEST", "onPageFinished: " + url); } @Override public void doUpdateVisitedHistory(WebView view, String url, boolean isReload){ } }); But that code isn't working either, I still got a TIMEOUT ERROR. I also saw that there is already a webVieClient member, but I don't if I have to use it and how. I'm working with Phonegap version 1.9.0 Thanks for reading Answer to Simon: This doesn't work either, I still receive a TIMEOUT ERROR, there is something wrong? public class MainActivity extends DroidGap { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); super.init(); super.appView.clearCache(true); super.appView.clearHistory(); this.appView.setWebViewClient(new CustomCordovaWebViewClient(this)); super.loadUrl("file:///android_asset/www/index.html"); } public class CustomCordovaWebViewClient extends CordovaWebViewClient { public CustomCordovaWebViewClient(DroidGap ctx) { super(ctx); } @Override public void onPageStarted(WebView view, String url, Bitmap bitmap) { Log.i("TEST", "onPageStarted: " + url); } @Override public void onPageFinished(WebView view, String url) { Log.i("TEST", "onPageFinished: " + url); } @Override public void doUpdateVisitedHistory(WebView view, String url, boolean isReload){ } @Override public void onReceivedError(WebView view, int errorCode, String description, String failingUrl) { } } }
