• Set the path for the location of media files in program

  I have made a Java Swing Desktop application in Netbeans which can play media files I have put the videos in my workspace resources location and in my java program I am calling those media files using an URL which is something like this: C:/users/Dell/My Documents /NetBeansProjects/Media/src/resources/ MediaFiles/ddd.mpg This works well when I run in my IDE and also i have made Jar for this it works well on my computer but the problem is when i copy this jar file on my friends system the interface is coming but when I click a button to play a media file it says: C:/users/Dell/MyDocuments/NetBeansProjects/Media/src/resources/ MediaFiles/ddd.mpg does not exist So, please provide me a solution of how to set the default path so that when I run a jar file on other systems it should play the media file location I am passing as in my program. How to set the path for the location of media files in program? Update The videos are in the jar file.

• How to download files directly to disk on the iPhone os?

  Hi, I would like to download files directly from an URL to the disk using objective-c on the iPhone os. Currently I am using NSURLConnection to send a synchronousRequest, writing the returned NSData into a file. How can I change the download handling (still having the request beeing synchronous, it is already in a background thread) to write the data directly to disk, not using memory variables to store the complete content (only small parts)?   Currently I am developing a CakePHP that will list various businesses. In the database, there is a table for businesses that lists them like so: id | name | address | city | state | state_id | zip | url The state column are abbreviations of states (for listing purposes) CA, AK, FL, etc and the state_id matches up with the ids in the states table: id | name | state_abbr I have an admin_add.ctp template with form helpers for inserting new businesses. For entering a state for a business I am going to have a pull down that lists all the states. However, how do I make the database insert so it will know how to add the state abbreviation and state id when I submit the form to add the business?

• Can you pass _POST variables from 1 server to another?

  I have a web form on an IIS server (has no PHP). I have a PHP script on a LAMP server. My _POST var array is coming up empty on the LAMP server. My suspicion is I cannot pass POST vars from 1 server to another but I would like to have that confirmed. Does anyone know the answer to this? If that's the case then I know I need to with use _GET vars in the URL's Query String or set a cookie (which I can do because both servers are config'd with the domain name). Thanks for your help.

• Consolidating data in SharePoint from different sites based on variable site naming

  Hi, am working on a project where I want to pull data from different lists in SharePoint and have these data imported into a single list. The list has the same attribute everywhere; it is located in different sites. I have a list which contains all the site names and URL to those sites. The idea is to read from this list all the site names and then go to each one of those sites and try and pull the information from the list under that particular site, in synchronies matter. Data that are pulled from last week’s process do not need to be pulled again. Can someone guide me in explaining what would be the best way to doing this solution? Am using SharePoint 2007

• Rails Authlogic Prevent User from Changing their Login/Username

  Hello, I have implemented Authlogic. I believe that this isn't an authlogic specific quesetion. Assume that I have a User model and each User has a column in the database called "login". Upon creating a user, the login column is populated. However, I don't want the user to be able to change their login once they set it. Currently, I have removed the text field in the _form.html.erb file in my views for users. However, it can probably still be accessed through the url right? How can I make it so that once a login is set, it can not be changed at all?

• cross domain DOM access and manipulation in Java ?

  In my Java app, how can I incorporate the browser (which loads and renders URLs) in Swing and access it's DOM and manipulate HTML ? How can you embed such browser in a Rich Internet Application and access it's DOM ? More specifically, Vaadin ? Is there a HTTP proxy class that can load an external URL, and render it to the user ? This was what I was doing on LAMP stack....but I want to switch to Vaadin or some Java web framework where I can just use Java to do everything from server-side to client-side logic design, so I can focus more on application logic.   I have a site that has certain urls that point to pages with permanent data and others that point to dynamic web pages. Google indexes both these regularly. By the time a user finds one of the dynamic content urls, the data on the page has already changed and the user does not find what he was looking for. Further, the dynamic url pages contains links to the permanent urls (which I want Google or any crawler to index). • In order to bypass a website's login screen, can you load a link with a username and password?

  I am relatively new to web development, and I was hoping I could get some pointers about the feasibility of a feature I would like to implement. Is it possible to have a url link that you can click on, that can contain login credentials for the website it is linking to, so as to bypass that websites login screen? In other words, can I make a link from my website to facebook, that would allow me to login right in to my facebook, from any computer? Meaning, if I don't have cookies to store my login info in, is it possible to login still? This is just a conceptual question, so any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

• Restore history and current page on resuming webview

  I have a webview that I use to navigate from page to page. I have implemented go back and go forward. My problem is that when I return to the webview after visiting another activity, the history is lost i.e. the webview starts again on the first page. How do I code it so that after I call finish on the webview to swap to another activity on returning to the webview, the WebBackForwardList is restored and I am taken to the page I was on when I left the webview? I have tried overriding onSaveInstanceState and onRestoreInstanceState using webview.save/restoreState(bundle) but with no success. I have achieved returning to the last page by saving the last url in preferences, but have been unable to restore the entire history.

• Using CouchDB to serve HTML.

  I'm trying to use CouchDB with HTML/standalone REST architecture. That is, no other app server other than CouchDB and ajax style javascript calling CouchDB. It looks like cross scripting is a problem. I was using Cloudkit/Tokyo Cabinet before and it seems like the needed callback function was screwing it up in the URL. Now I'm trying CouchDB and getting the same problem. Here are my questions: 1) Are these problems because the REST/JSON store like CouchDB or CloudKit is running on a different port from my web page? They're both run locally and called from "localhost". 2) Should I let CouchDB host my page and serve the HTML? 3) How do I do this? The documentation didnt seem so clear... Thanks, Alex

  Hi, I've managed this so far: [removed url] The plan is to have that video stretch across the whole page (the flash does, the video itself does not). Firstly: well aware of the issues - bad performance, horribly stretched/pixelated video. I know this. However a client wants it so we have to do it, simple as that. Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be achieved? I've been in touch with the creators of the flash video player I'm currently using and they've confirmed it isn't possible with that flash video player. • Scraping ASP.NET site with Ruby

  I would like to scrape the search results of this ASP.NET site using Ruby and preferably just using Hpricot (I cannot open an instance of Firefox): http://www.ngosinfo.gov.pk/SearchResults.aspx?name=&foa=0 However, I am having trouble figuring out how to go through each page of results. In addition, the URL of the page does not contain any parameters indicating page, so it is not possible to force the results that way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Delay the display of image loaded using jquery + ajax

I then extract the data I need (a .gif image) using .find() which is stored in 'val'. This image is then inserted into a #BFX div for display. My problem is every successive time I click my button to update this image it shows the image loading from top to bottom as it is reading it in from the web. Is there a way to only display this image once it has fully loaded so the user doesnt see the image loading and only sees the image change instantly.

• Form action with #hashtag not working in internet explorer

  I am using jquery-ui tabs and I've set it up to select the correct tab depending on the #hash from the requested URL. I have a form which performs a search, and each tab present the result from different providers. so if the form is submitting to the action "/myAction#tab1", when the results load, the corresponding tab gets selected. This works perfectly in every browser except for IE. When my form is submitted, it loses somehow the #hash which describes which tab to select. Is that yet another a bug from IE, or am I doing something wrong? I could not find much information about this, but I can hardly believe that this is not a common problem.
