  • ExpertPDF and Caching of URLs

    We are using ExpertPDF to take URLs and turn them into PDFs. Everything we do is through memory, so we build up the request and then read the stream into ExpertPDF and then write the bits to file. All the files we have been requesting so far are just plain HTML documents. Our designers update CSS files or change the HTML and rerequest the documents as PDFs, but often times, things are getting cached. Take, for example, if I rename the only CSS file and view the HTML page through a web browser, the page looks broke because the CSS doesn't exist. But if I request that page through the PDF Generator, it still looks ok, which means somewhere the CSS is cached. I checked the IIS log file and found a 200 response coming from the request, even after a file had been updated (I would expect a 302). We've tried putting the No-Cache attribute on all HTML pages, but still no luck. I even turned off all caching at the IIS level. Is there anything in ExpertPDF that might be caching somewhere or something I can do to the request object to do a hard refresh of all resources? UPDATE I put ?foo at the end of my style href links and this updates the CSS everytime. Is there a setting someplace that can prevent stylesheets from being cached so I don't have to do this inelegant solution?

  • Get a selected radio button value after POST to set other fields enabled/disabled

    I have an MVC application with a simple control to all selection of All Dates or selecting a Date Range. The radio buttons have an onclick handler to enable/disable the dat pickers. All work well so far. When I try to set the correct context state for the datepickers after doing a POST I cannot get the jQuery selector to return the radio buttons checked value. Using var selected = $('#DateSelection_AllDates'); will return the first radio button value as expected i.e. applying the ':checked' filter ALWAYS returns undefined. Can anyone see anything wrong here?

    Hello, I want to realize a login for my site. I basically copied and pasted the following bits from the Django Book together. However I still get an error (CSRF verification failed. Request aborted.), when submitting my registration form. Can somebody tell my what raised this error and how to fix it?   • How can a link within a WebView load another layout using javascript?

    So I have 2 layout files (main.xml, featured.xml) and both each have a single WebView. When the application starts "main.xml" loads a html file into it's WebView. In this html file I have a link that calls javascript that runs code in the Activity that loaded the html. Once back in this Activity code though I try running setContentView(R.layout.featured) but it just bombs out on me. If I debug it just dies without any real error and if I run it the application just Force closes.   • How To Share Information Between Django and Javascript?

    So I am pretty new to both Django and Javascript (I am using JQuery) and I am wondering if I am doing a hack or if there are more slick ways to send client-side displayed database ids to the django server-side. Here is my process: I have a dataTable (http://datatables.net) that I am displaying rows of data by using the bProcessing option to use AJAX to retrieve records from the database. The URL in my urls.py is something like: url(r'^assets/activitylog/(?P<cid>.*)$', views.getActivityTable_ajax, name="activitylog_table"), and my dataTable ajax-relavant code is something like: "sAjaxSource": "/assets/activitylog/" + getIDFromHTML(), where the javascript function getIDFromHTML() grabs <cid> that is used by the Django view is simply: function getIDFromHTML(){ // Simply return the text in the #release_id div element from the HTML return $("#release_id").html(); }; This is the part that seems "hacky" to me. I am inserting into my template code the database id that I am using in the datatables URL (with display:none in the css) just so I can pass it back to the view. Most of this is necessitated because one cannot use django template tags in the javascript code unless the code is embedded into the HTML itself, which I am not (and will not) do. The only other thing that I have found is to change the URL to get rid of the parameter passed in to: url(r'^assets/activitylog', views.getActivityTable_ajax, name="activitylog_table"), and change the view code to: def getActivityTable_ajax(request): """Returns the activity for a given pid from HTTP GET ajax reqest""" pid = int(urlparse.urlparse(request.META['HTTP_REFERER']).path.split('/')[-1]) # rest of view code here... since the id that I need is on the end of this referer url. This way I don't have to monkey around with embedding the hidden database id into the HTML and passing it back to via ajax the the table population view code. Is it okay to use HTTP_REFERER in the request object in this manner? Am I going about this in the totally wrong way? Thanks in advance!

  • Apache/Rails/Passenger directory URLs that don't end in '/' fail to 404.

    I'm using Apache with passenger to run a rails app. In my rails app, I have some static content in subdirectories of the public directory. Each subdirectory has an index.html in it. So, inside the public directory, I have a subdir called 'b' and inside it, is an index.html. So it's like this: /public/b/index.html I have links to these pages, of the form: http://a.com/b If I do this in my regular non-rails web directory, Apache correctly rewrites this URL to be http://a.com/b/ which then, subsequently shows the index.html. It's only when accessing my rails app that it doesn't work. In fact, if I turn off passenger mod... so it just accesses my rails app like a regular document root, it works correctly also. What the heck do I need to do to get this to work properly with passenger? Again, it works fine in apache itself when passenger is not involved. I am running passenger 2.1.3. I have another server running passenger 2.0 that doesn't seem to have this problem, but I don't see anything different in the config other than the different versions of passenger itself. HELP! Been working on this for two days solid with no improvement!

  • Anchor tags are blank

    I'm having a problem where the my anchor tags sometimes aren't displaying their links. This is happening on Mobile Safari on multiple iPhones, and in the iPhone simulator. I'm using jQtouch r147, PhoneGap, and jQuery 1.4.2. When the list is blank, I see the debug.log() line show me 'html is blank', and I also see the log line show me that the variable 'name' does, in fact, contain a valid name. When I check for anchor.html() == null, I've also tried to .remove() the anchor tag, and re-create it. But it always comes back without the name displayed. This happens on the mobile device and in the simulator, but I've never seen it happen in Safari or in Chrome. Has anyone seen something like this? I can't find the cause, and I can't get it to stop.   • Can't write to dynamic iframe using jQuery

    My goal is to dynamically create an iframe and write ad JavaScript into it using jQuery (e.g. Google AdSense script). My code works on Chrome, but fails intermittently in Firefox i.e. sometimes the ad script runs and renders the ad, and other times it doesn't. When it doesn't work, the script code itself shows up in the iframe. My guess is these intermittent failures occur because the iframe is not ready by the time I write to it. I have tried various iterations of *iframe_html* (my name for the function which is supposed to wait for the iframe to be ready), but no luck. Any help appreciated! PS: I have read various threads (e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/205087/jquery-ready-in-a-dynamically-inserted-iframe). To me it seems like the delegate call is pushed to a queue that is called when the current call is done. So the question is can I modify this behavior? Note: The reason this is needed is that I can't execute the JavaScript until the HTML has loaded.

    I'm having trouble with and RSpec view test. I'm using nested resources and the model with a belongs_to association. Not sure if that actually means anything.

  • Style row banding and selection in tr:table using CSS

    I've got a tr:table that I need to style using CSS. All the normal style functions of a table are working, but row banding and row selection aren't coming up. When I view the rendered source, I'm not seeing a difference in the rows for an id or class to grab on to, and the official documentation doesn't have any attributes for declaring a style class for either. Is this possible and if so what do I need to do to get my CSS to grab onto it? <tr:table id="myTable" value="#{tableValues}" rowBandingInterval="1"> <tr:column> ##Stuff## </tr:column> <tr:column> ##Stuff## </tr:column> <tr:column> ##Stuff## </tr:column> </tr:table> Edit Let me try to clairfy what's happening. First, using the declaration above tells jsf to generate a table, and the attribute rowBandingInterval tells it to give each row alternating colors (If it was set to 2, then it would do 2 rows one color, 2 rows another, 2 rows the original, etc.) Once the page gets rendered into standard html, trinidad (and jsf) apply their own classes and IDs to the html. My normal procedure is to look at the rendered html, find the class that it is appling and add CSS rules for it. However in this case, no additional styles are added (nothing in the rendered html denotes one row to be different from another). So the question is, how do I tell trinidad to either give alternating rows and the user selected row different classes/IDs for me to grab on to with CSS?

  • How do I format and apply rails methods to output of Ruport?

    I am creating a report from Ruport and want to be able to take the grouping heading, in this case the ID for the class Email, and wrap a method around it and a link_to to link to the Email view based on the email_id: @table = ContactEmail.report_table(:all, :conditions => ['date_sent >= ? and date_sent <= ?', @monday, @friday]) @grouping = Grouping(@table, :by => "email_id") How do I do that?     I have a list of options (IEnumerable< SelectListItem ) in my model that I want to use in multiple dropdowns in my view. But each of these dropdowns could have a different selected option. Is there an easy way to simply specfiy which should be selected if using the Html.DropDownList helper?
