  • 403 forbidden error from cron

    I have some php code that runs fine in a browser but now I want to use the same code and execute it from a cron script I'm getting issues. i tried the command on cron wget -O /dev/null http://www.mydomain.com/test.php but if i try that in the terminal i get the error below. What is the correct command to run a php file from cron? and do I need to add extra line of code to the top of my php file?     I have install ubuntu & GNOME (say, with minimum possible number of packages). I can login and do anything as I want. However, there is a nasty thing: Whenever I loggin in, I see this message: Error The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_FastUserSwitchApplet" Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration [Don't Delete] [Delete] If I press [Delete] then the error won't be shown anymore. However, for every new created account, the message shown again (use created using sudo adduser user_name). Since I clone this OS into several virtual instance, and create new account on these instances. I wonder if there is a way to configure my ubuntu so that new created user don't have to see this annoy message? Thanks

  • Which are the RDBMS that minimize the server roundtrips? Which RDBMS are better (in this area) than

    When the latency is high ("when pinging the server takes time") the server roundtrips make the difference. Now I don't want to focus on the roundtrips created in programming, but the roundtrips that occur "under the hood" in the DB engine, so the roundtrips that are 100% dependant on how the RDBMS is written itself. I have been told that FireBird has more roundtrips than MySQL. But this is the only information I know. I am currently supporting MS SQL but I'd like to change RDBMS (because I use Express Editions and in my scenario they are quite limiting from the performance point of view), so to make a wise choice I would like to include also this point into "my RDBMS comparison feature matrix" to understand which is the best RDBMS to choose as an alternative to MS SQL. So the bold sentence above would make me prefer MySQL to Firebird (for the roundtrips concept, not in general), but can anyone add informations? And MS SQL where is it located? Is someone able to "rank" the roundtrip performance of the main RDBMS, or at least: MS SQL, MySql, Postegresql, Firebird (I am not interested in Oracle since it is not free, and if I have to change I would change to a free RDBMS). Anyway MySql (as mentioned several times on stackoverflow) has a not clear future and a not 100% free license. So my final choice will probably dall on PostgreSQL or Firebird. Additional info: somehow you can answer my question by making a simple list like: MSSQL:3; MySQL:1; Firebird:2; Postgresql:2 (where 1 is good, 2 average, 3 bad). Of course if you can post some links where the roundtrips per RDBMSs are compared it would be great

    I'm trying to create a connection to an SQL Server database from the ODBC Data Source Administrator using "Windows NT authentication using the network login ID". Both server and client are running Windows XP. It appears that any account with administrator privileges can add the data source on the server*, though connection attempts from the client result in error messages that suggest it is trying to authenticate using a guest account. I found a Microsoft support page that says: For SQL Server...: connect using the impersonated user account. But it doesn't offer advice about how to do that. How do I impersonate a user account on the server? or (since it sounds like that would lead to an unfortuante squashing of privileges and loss of accountability): How do I give an account on the client privileges on the server database and then ensure the client attempts authentication with the privileged account and not with a guest account? I'm aware that I'm providing rather sparse information. This is because I'm in unfamiliar territory and don't know what's pertinent. I'll attempt to add any requested information as quickly as possible. *I'm planning on tightening privileges straight after I get it working as it stands.

  • Time machine link error

    When attempting to perform a Time Machine backup, the backup appears to proceed as normal, until it finishes copying files at which point it complains that an "error occurred while linking files for" one of my external hard disks. During the previous backup that particular disk was in fact empty, and therefore I can't understand why Time Machine is attempting to link back to it. But alas. I've verified all my disks using Disk Utility and they all appear to be fine. Does anybody know what causes this error, and how I might go about fixing it? Failing that is there a way to force Time Machine to create a brand new backup rather than an incremental one? Thanks in advance!

    I'm building a simple flash site for a friend who has a spa. I keep getting this error: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at spa7_fla::MainTimeline/frame1() through the process of commenting out code, i've narrowed down to my link section: vox_link.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,gotoVox); function gotoVox(evtObj:Event):void { var voxSite:URLRequest=new URLRequest("http://www.voxmundiproject.com"); navigateToURL(voxSite, "_blank"); } With this section commented out, i don't get the 1009 error.     I have created a test app that has in app purchasing. I am able to connect to the store and verify my product ID's. I then use my test user account to purchase a product. And guess what... it works... the first time. If I try to use the test user account to buy another product (the same product or a different one) then I get a pop up that says "An unknown error has occurred" with a "Cancel" and "Retry" option. If I retry then I get the same error. After hitting cancel I get the error: Error Domain=SKErrorDomain Code=0 UserInfo=0x161180 "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" Any ideas?

    In my C# code I am using TransactionScope because I was told not to rely that my sql programmers will always use transactions and we are responsible and yada yada. Having said that It looks like TransactionScope object Rolls back before the SqlTransaction? Is that possible and if so what is the correct methodology for wrapping a TransactionScope in a transaction.     I am getting the following error while running apt-get update on all of the servers. W: A error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is not updated and the previous index files will be used. Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 8B48AA6247928553 W: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead. The solutions available are: To login into each of the server and run the following command to import the gpg key for that repo. sudo gpg --keyserver hkp://subkeys.pgp.net --recv-keys 8B48AA6247928553 sudo gpg --export --armor 8B48AA6247928553 | sudo apt-key add - But this requires logging into all of the individual servers and run the above two commands. I am looking for a way to correct by working on apt-repo server. Is there any way to do that.

  • Compressing and copying large files on Windows Server?

    I've been having a hard time copying large database backups from the database server to a test box at another site. I'm open to any ideas that would help me get this database moved without having to resort to a USB hard drive and the mail. The database server is running Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise, 16 GB of RAM and two quad-core 3.0 GHz Xeon X5450s. Files are SQL Server 2005 backup files between 100 GB and 250 GB. The pipe is not the fastest and SQL Server backup files typically compress down to 10-40% of the original, so it made sense to me to compress the files first. I've tried a number of methods, including: gzip 1.2.4 (UnxUtils) and 1.3.12 (GnuWin) bzip2 1.0.1 (UnxUtils) and 1.0.5 (Cygwin) WinRAR 3.90 7-Zip 4.65 (7za.exe) I've attempted to use WinRAR and 7-Zip options for splitting into multiple segments. 7za.exe has worked well for me for database backups on another server, which has ~50 GB backups. I've also tried splitting the .BAK file first with various utilities and compressing the resulting segments. No joy with that approach either- no matter the tool I've tried, it ends up butting against the size of the file. Especially frustrating is that I've transferred files of similar size on Unix boxes without problems using rsync+ssh. Installing an SSH server is not an option for the situation I'm in, unfortunately.   • 503 error Varnish cache when eAccelerator is started

    I have a Magento installation running on x-large Amazon server. I have Varnish, memcached and eAccelerator installed on the server. At first everything was working fine, but then at some point it stopped working, throwing 503 error with Varnish cache stamp below it. When I disable eaccelerator, error is gone and site is working.   • IIS 7.5 fails to open database after computer machine on that database server is working restarts.

    Hi. I decided to post this question also here in case the issues we have is related to sql server. There is a problem that bother me for some time. I have an asp.net mvc that uses NHibernate for modeling the database. The infrastructure is the following: Windows 2008 R2 for all virtual machines. IIS 7.5 is working on one virtual machine. Sql Server 2008 is working on another virtual machine. We have couple of databases, two that stores application data and one that registers all unhandled exceptions. Sometimes virtual machine that hosts database server restarts (in the middle of the night, not quite sure about the reason) after that connection to the databases that stores application data is not working and as result there are thousands of unhandled exceptions that get registered in the third database. Important to mention that databases are accessible from Management Studio. The problem is solved by resetting IIS. Connetion are handled via NHibernateUtil class which opens and closes session at each request.

  • Perfectly reproducable select statement default ordering issue....

    Hi, I've recently been chasing an issue with a client's db... solution found, but impossible to recreate. Essentially, we're doing a Select * from mytable where ArbitraryColumn = 75 Where MyTable has an Identity column, called 'MyIndentityColumn' - incremented by one in each insert. Naturally, and normally I would assume that the order returned would be the order in which they are inserted (bad assumption, but one which was forced onto me, through an inherited application - which has been patched). Essentially, I would like suggestions as to why the database, when restored to my local machine (same OS, same SQL server version - 200 sp3) same collation, and same backup instance restored on it, as a test DB on the client site. When I perform the above select, I get them in order of insert (i.e. identity column ordered ascending). On the client, it seems random (but the same 'random' order each time)... A few other points: I have the same collation on my test server as client Same DB backup restored to a test only I can access Same SQL server version and service pack Same OS Test DB is a new DB - new log and MDF... I have the problem 'solved' by adding an explicit order by clause but I want to undertand the cause of the issue, given the exact nature of my attempts to recreate it beuing futile, and perfectly recreatable on the client server...     I have downloaded databasename.bak file from my hosting company, when i tried to restore that DB file in SQL server 2008 it is keep on giving me following error. The media family on device 'C:\go4sharepoint_1384_8481.bak' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family. RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 3241) According to this error and from following link http://www.sqlcoffee.com/Troubleshooting047.htm Later when I tried to restore file on server it was restored correctly, but when I tried to transfer same file using FTP Software FileZila and tried to restore that downloaded file it was giving above error. That is file is getting corrupted on the way to tranfer using FTP. Any Idea how can i avoid that file to get courrupt? Note: File is downloaded using FileZila - TransferType as Binary. Thank you.

However, I am having some trouble with the ocaml syntax (the compiler errors are extremely un-informative).   • Compiling LAMP from source - apache2 error “no MPM package installed”

    Hi, I've compiled LAMP from source on a Ubuntu VPS. I had to remove a previously installed version of Apache then I manually compiled all the packages, which seems to have worked up unto a point - however, when I try to run commands like "/etc/init.d/apache2 restart" I get the following error - No apache MPM package installed. I have installed mpm-prefork so I don't know why i'm getting this problem. My configure command is as follows: ./configure --enable-so --enable-modules=most --with-mpm=prefork I have deliberately not used apt-get to install anything and want to avoid this if possible. Anyone have any guidance on how to resolve this error? Thanks in advance
