• Django - Static content display based on URL

  I'm working on a Django site with a basic three column design. Left column navigation, center column content and right column URL specific content blocks. My question is about the best method of controlling the URL specific content blocks in the right column. I am thinking of something along the lines of the Flatpages app that will make the content available to the template context if the URL matches a pre-determined pattern (perhaps regex?). Does anyone know if such an app already exists? If not, I am looking for some advice about the best way to implement it. Particularly in relation to the matching of patterns to the current URL. Is there any good way to re-use parts of the Django URL dispatcher for this use?

• filter log file by defining regexes

  I have some HUGE log files (50Mb; ~500K lines) I need to start filtering some of the crap out of. The log files are being produced using log4j and have the basic pattern of: [log-level] date-time class etc, etc log-message I'm looking for a way that I can identify a regex start and regex end (or something similar) that will filter out the matching entries from the file so I can more easily wade through these massive files. I'm sure I could write a java program to accomplish this task, but I thought I'd ask the community before going down that path. Thanks in advance.

While searching a text inside a Listbox if that matching string found in anywhere in the list it should show in Green color with Bold. eg. I have string collection like "Dependency Property, Custom Property, Normal Property" if i type in the Search Text box "prop" all the Three with "prop" (only the word Prop) should be in Bold and its color should be in green. any idea how it can be done?. Data inside listbox is represented using DataTemplate.

• Errors in Decimal Calcs within def clean method?

  I'm attempting a few simple calculations in a def clean method following validation (basically spitting out a euro conversion of retrieved uk product price on the fly). I keep getting a TypeError. Full error reads: Cannot convert {'product': , 'invoice': , 'order_discount': Decimal("0.00"), 'order_price': {...}, 'order_adjust': None, 'order_value': None, 'DELETE': False, 'id': 92, 'quantity': 8} to Decimal so I guess django is passing through the entire cleaned_data form to Decimal method. • OutputPath ignored on projects being build by TFS 2010

  I have installed TFS2010 Beta 2 with default settings and configured a CI build with a solution containing the indivial projects. My *.cspoj files could have: <OutputPath>bin\debug\</OutputPath> Or alternatively: <OutDir>bin\debug\</OutDir> When the build server is done building and running tests etc. all the assemblies are placed in the root of the build drop off folder. How do I configure the build to keep the outputpath or outdir in my projects and store the assemblies and content in the matching folder structure( builddropfolder\bin\debug\ )? I have found a number of post on this most of them relates to TFS 2008 but I have not found solutions for TFS 2010. Perhaps it is possible to solve this in the new workflow file for the buildserver?

  I have a ClassA containing an ArrayList of another ClassB I can save a new instance of ClassA with ClassB instances also saved using JDO. However, When I retrieve the instance of Class A, I try to do like the below: ClassA instance = PMF.get().getPersistenceManager().GetObjectByID( someid ); instance.GetClassBArrayList().add( new ClassB(...) ); I get an Exception like the below: Uncaught exception from servlet com.google.appengine.api.datastore.DatastoreNeedIndexException: no matching index found.. So I was wondering, Is it possible to add a new item to the previously saved collection? Or was it something I missed out. Best Regards

  Hi, I'm working on a small academic research about extremely long and complicated functions in the Linux kernel. I'm trying to figure out if there is a good reason to write 600 or 800 lines-long functions. For that purpose, I would like to find a tool that can extract a function from a .c file, so I can run some automated tests on the function. For example, If I have the function cifs_parse_mount_options() within the file connect.c, I'm seeking a solution that would roughly work like: extract /fs/cifs/connect.c cifs_parse_mount_options and return the 523 lines of code(!) of the function, from the opening braces to the closing braces. Of course, any way of manipulating existing software packages like gcc to do that, would be most helpful too.   I sometimes need to search code for patterns in a way that goes beyond the regex capabilities of Visual Studio (e.g. patterns that depend on what was seen previously in the file or on the contents of other files). So I use Perl to analyze the source and output matching lines, along with the file name and line number. Since this is the exact same format as is produced by the search feature of Visual Studio, I wonder if there is a way to duplicate the functionality where I can double-click on a line and it will display that line in context in Visual Studio. Any ideas?

• Which would be better? Storing/access data in a local text file, or in a database?

  Basically, I'm still working on a puzzle-related website (micro-site really), and I'm making a tool that lets you input a word pattern (e.g. "r??n") and get all the matching words (in this case: rain, rein, ruin, etc.). Should I store the words in local text files (such as words5.txt, which would have a return-delimited list of 5-letter words), or in a database (such as the table Words5, which would again store 5-letter words)? I'm looking at the problem in terms of data retrieval speeds and CPU server load. I could definitely try it both ways and record the times taken for several runs with both methods, but I'd rather hear it from people who might have had experience with this. Which method is generally better overall?

• g++ doesn't think I'm passing a reference

  When I call a method that takes a reference, g++ complains that I'm not passing a reference. I thought that the caller didn't have to do anything different for PBR. • MySQL command-line tool: How to find out number of rows affected by a DELETE?

  I'm trying to run a script that deletes a bunch of rows in a MySQL (innodb) table in batches, by executing the following in a loop: mysql --user=MyUser --password=MyPassword MyDatabase < SQL_FILE where SQL_FILE contains a DELETE FROM ... LIMIT X command. I need to keep running this loop until there's no more matching rows. But unlike running in the mysql shell, the above command does not return the number of rows affected. I've tried -v and -t but neither works. How can I find out how many rows the batch script affected? Thanks!

• Performing regex on a stream

  I have some large text files which im going to preform consecutive matching on (just capturing, not replacing). Im thinking its not such a good idea to keep the whole file in memory, but rather use a Reader. What i know about the input is that if there's a match, its not going to span more than 5 lines. So my idea was to have some sort of buffer which just keeps these 5 lines, or so, do the first search, and continue. But it has to "know" where the regex match ended for this to work. e.g if the match ends at line 2 it should start the next search from here. Is it possible to do something like this in an efficient way?

  I'm trying to add a background color to a user submitted search result when a user enters a search term on a page (which is basically one big table). This is a text based search. I'm using jquery to show/hide the table rows that do not have the search term as text within the TR, but I'd ideally like to take the additional step of taking the search term (the entered value), and matching any of those text terms in the remaining (showing) rows and adding say a yellow background to the word(s). • Is there a way to highlight specific words or numbers without inserting a span tag?

  I've got blocks of text with various specs in them and want to have jquery highlight whatever matches a specific pattern without inserting any extra html. The following is the kind of text that I've got to work with. Maybe working off a list of values matching the spec format using some wildcards where neededed? The css to select the correct tag is #list div div div+p or I could just give the p class but would rather not. Is this kind of thing possible?

• Neo4j+Gremlin : Trouble with T.gte and floating point node attributes

  For a type of nodes in my graph, attribute values for an attribute(named 'some_count') is either missing or an integer or a float. I'm trying to write gremlin to filter these nodes based on minimum value for this attribute. I first verified that the values are indeed present by firing the following gremlin g.v(XXX)._().in('category').hasNot('some_count', T.eq, null).back(1).some_count Next, I tried filtering by exact value and that works and show me the matching nodes or gives an empty array if there is no match g.v(XXX)._().in('category').hasNot('some_count', T.eq, null).back(1).has('some_count', T.eq, 120000.0d) But the following query that uses the 'greater than or equal to' comparator doesn't work. g.v(XXX)._().in('category').hasNot('some_count', T.eq, null).back(1).has('some_count', T.gte, 1.0d) this returns nil (I'm querying via ruby/rails using Neo4j AR Adapter ) Instead of returning an empty array for no match, it returns a nil, which tells me something could be wrong with the query itself. I'm running neo4j community server 1.8. Is there a way I can ask Neo4j to log errors/queries, to see what could be going wrong ?
