  • calling a java webservice from html page and javascript

    Hey guys, I'm trying to call a java implemented web service (using the NetBeans IDE) from javascript. I have read a lot about jQuery and AJAX but i cant seem to get a hand on it. suppose my web service WSDL is found at: http://localhost:8080/MICE_Server/MapEditorService?WSDL web method name : sayHello(String name) which returns a string. how would i be able to to this in javascript? thanks in advance for ur help!!

    I've some html code generated in javascript like this cell.innerHTML = '<a href="#" class="sortheader" id="sortheader_'+i+'" '+ 'onclick="ts_resortTable(this, '+i+');return false;">' + txt+'<span class="sortarrow"></span></a>'; I'd like to call the function ts_resortTable() but independently of the onclick event how can i generate the "this" parameter of the function? I tried the DOM selector : $('sortheader_'+i) in jQuery and the getElementById('#sortheader_'+i) as well but it's not working

  • youtube video on Mac os?

    I have inserted a video from youtube into a DIV tag, used the actual "embed" code found on youtube site. and used jquery to show/hide the div. when activated, the flash video shows perfectly in the div, when clicked it plays as usual the only problem i have is when someone using a Mac, and clicks on play, the flash video disappears. this happened on many Mac computers regardles of the browser being in use ( none Firefox neither Safari are working ) although i have tested it on all general browsers on windows and it works fine

I mean by using only standard JavaScript without any installed components or tools. I know tools like Firebug trace into external source but it's installed on the platform and likely has special ability outside the context of the browser sandbox.

But I've seen instances without any local variables at all too. What am I missing here?

    A client has the admin ability to upload a PDF to their respective directory and have it listed on their website. All of this works dandy until a PDF reaches a certain file size that makes the server time out. This causes an error and the file uploaded will not succeed. As mentioned in the title, we are using ColdFusion with a command. Is there any java/jquery/flash modules or applications that could resolve this issue?

    hi, I cannot solve this issue with the video at this link: http://www.sanstitre.ch/drupal/portfolio?tid[0]=66 It displays correctly in all browsers but not in IE8 or IE7. The IE8 debugger doesn't give me any error message. If I'm not wrong the video object is not added in IE. So, for some reason the Drupal module, jQuery Media and the library SWFObject are not adding it in IE browsers... any tip ? thanks

    HI, I am just trying to set a field value and disable it at the same time. Can this be done in ext js? The docs are very weak on this subject. something like this generates errors: myForm.getForm().findField('start_date').setValue('').setDisabled(true); I'm used to JQuery which does this sort of thing nicely but haven't had luck with Ext.     I am grabbing data through a jQuery Ajax call, and displaying it on the page. I need to wait for both the DOM to load and for the Ajax call to complete before I can use the data to display it on the page. Can an Ajax call ever complete before the DOM has loaded? I'm just trying to determine where I need to put my method that will manipulate the DOM and use the data I'm getting back.

  • Rendering a View without a Master Page

    Heya, I'm fetching a page using ajax (jquery) and appending certain data to the Requests query string to let the server know it shouldn't render the entire Page, just the view in question to the output buffer. I'm having no luck though, I can detect when the page needs to be rendered partially, but everything I've tried so far (including stuff like return PartialView()) isn't working. Any ideas?
