  • WCF dependency on HTTP Filter - what to do with Win 2008 server?

    - by Saar
We had the same problem described here. we implemented the same solution of having a dependency on HTTPFilter. We recently tried to install on Windows 2008 - it appears the HTTPFilter service is not available there, so our service will not start. What should we do on Windows 2008? Do we need to add a dependency on another service? Which? Thanks Saar

  • Sharepoint - how to set permission level to add item but not view?

    - by Stuart
I want to allow a certain group of users to add items to a list, but not be able to view all items. This is so I can set up a workflow with certain parts of it private. I thought it'd be possible by defining a new permission level in: http://servername/_layouts/addrole.aspx ('Add a permission level' page) However, when you select the "add items" list permission, "view items" is automatically ticked also. Anyone know a solution to this?

  • Do I always need to rebuild the project containing references to sub project's dll, if sub projects

    - by Puneet Dudeja
I have a solution containing 4 class library projects and one "web site" project. The web site project contains references to the 3 class library projects, whenever I make changes in any of the class library projects, the only option I see is to rebuild the web site which takes a lot of time. Is there any option that I can only update the dll references and the changes are reflected in the web site project ?

  • Acquire Internet Explorer window position

    - by Ilya
How do I get in Internet Explorer values equivalent to: window.outerWidth and window.outerHeight in Firefox ? I've seen some "solution": window.screenLeft and window.screenTop but it is not correct. These properties give inner dimensions. I resize a window and I need values to use with window.resizeTo() later, to restore original size after.

  • Network error during uninstallation

    - by varunp88
Hi, We are using WiX to create a setup. The installation works fine, but during uninstallation an error says that the [FileName].msi is missing in C:\Windows\Installer and the setup starts rolling back. It is not reproduced in all the machines. It happens only in few machines. Could someone please give a solution to this ? What may be the reason that this happens only in 5 machines out of some 100 machines ? Thanks and Regards, Varun

  • Capture Stored Procedure print output in .NET (Different model!)

    - by Workshop Alex
Basically, this question with a difference... Is it possible to capture print output from a TSQL stored procedure in .NET, using the Entity Framework? The solution in the other question doesn't work for me. It works with the connection type from System.Data.SqlClient but I'm using the one from System.Data.EntityClient which does not have an InfoMessage event. (Of course, I could just create an SQL connection based on the Entity connection settings, but prefer to do it directly.)

  • Is Microsoft Workflow Foundation really used ?

    - by ereOn
Today, I had a training on "Microsoft Workflow Foundation". While I think the idea is neat, I still see it as a Proof Of Concept and not as a real-life solution. Building an entire application without having to type a single line of code (or only a few of them) seems just wrong. Have you ever used this technology and if so, can it really fit to big company projects ? What drawbacks/advantages have you got using it ?

Any ideas or links to existing methods or scripts is much appreciated. Regards Phil

  • Portable way to get file size in C/C++

    - by chmike
I need to determin the byte size of a file. The coding language is C++ and the code should work with Linux, windows and any other operating system. This implies using standard C or C++ functions/classes. This trivial need has apparently no trivial solution.

  • Unpack/extract zip file with PHP without relying on any extension

    - by seventeen
Is there any way to unpack or extract a zip file with PHP that does not rely on any installed extension? Has anyone written a class or something that can handle it? Alternatively, is there a solution that uses an extension that is relatively commonly installed on most servers? I need this to work on as many different servers that I have no control over as possible. Thanks for any help!
