  • How do I directly add/pin web page to Google Chrome jump list?

    Sometimes I want to (easily) add the link for a web page I'm viewing with Google Chrome to Chome's Windows 7 jump list. Is there a way to do this? I have tried dragging the bookmark/star to the left of the URL in the address bar onto Chrome's jump list, but this doesn't seem to "take". The only way I have found that works is rather kludgey. If I close the tab for the page I want to add then it shows up in the jump list under "Recently Closed". I can then pin the link to the jump list. It would be nice to have a way to add a web page to the jump list without first having to close it.

    I am working on PHP and MySQL based web application for more than 5 years now. I started my career from Intern - Jr Developer - Software Developer - Sr. Software Engineer [Team Lead] that's what I am nowadays. I was looking at the link at Wikipedia regarding who is a lead programmer. The link states the following: A lead programmer is a software engineer in charge of one or more software projects. Alternative titles include Development Lead, Technical Lead, Senior Software Engineer, Software Design Engineer Lead (SDE Lead), Software Manager, or Senior Applications Developer. When primarily contributing in a high-level enterprise software design role, the title Software Architect (or similar) is often used. All of these titles can have different meanings depending on the context. My current job responsibilities are more or less like a Development Lead and to some extent near Software Architect because I usually design the core structure of new products and managing 2-3 project simultaneously and in the meantime involved in assisting other teams regarding the structural design of their projects, I am usually on call with clients along with project managers, I code most of the time when my team stuck somewhere / workload / integrating some third party API and etc. Primary reason of this writing is to know if I qualify for a Development Lead Title? in accordance with my above mentioned job descriptions?

    I have 4 servers running Centos 5. All of them have two ethernet network cards. I have configured 192.168.1.x IP addresses on their eth0 card. They are all connected to the same switch using their eth0 card and they are all working. I have configured 10.72.11.x IP addresses on their eth1 card.They are all connected to the same switch - a different one from the switch used with eth0 card - using their eth1 card and they are NOT all working.   • What's wrong with my MAC address?

    I have a D-Link DSL-2650U router, and exactly one computer on the network. For reasons of port forwarding I want to give my computer a static internal IP address, so that I don't take the chance of losing my NAT settings every time the computer reboots. So here's a screen shot that summarizes the entire problem: WTH is wrong with my MAC address? It's copied and pasted from the command prompt window! I tried editing out the dashes, but it still doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a bug in the D-Link firmware?

  • Back button after doing posts on the same page

    I have 3 pages to my site. The 1st page allows you to select a bunch of options. Those options get sent to the 2nd page to be displayed with some data about those options. From here I can click on a link to get to page 3 on 1 of the options. On page 3 I can create a new/edit/delete all on the same page where reloads come back to page 3. I want a "back" button on page 3 to go back to page 2, but retain the options it had from the original page 1 request. Page 1 has a bunch of check boxes which are passed to page 2 as arrays to the controller. My thought is that I have to pass these arrays (I converted them to lists) to page 3 (even thought page 3 directly doesn't need them) so that page 3 can use them in the back link to it can recreate the values page 1 sent to page 2 originally. I'm using asp.net MVC and when I pass the converted array it seems to convert it to the type instead of actually showing the values: "types=System.Collections.Generic.List" (where types is a List. Is this what is needed or are there other options to getting a "back" button in this case to go back to page 2. It's sort of a pain to pass information to page 3 that isn't really relevant to page 3 except the back button.

  • How to fix this navigation issue in my site?

    First off I use webs.com for the creation of my site. I have a very basic layout. List of links of the left and content on the right with a heading up top. Now in my list of links every link is an article that I wrote, I have about 25 links going down the left hand side of my site. Problem is when I try out new themes that support horizontal navigation as opposed to vertical navigation I get either a messy overflow of links Or a link called "more" which lists the rest of the articles in a drop down-list across my site. What I wish I had was a simple horizontal navigation like" "home, about, articles" and when the user clicks on articles it would then bring them to a page containing all my articles there. I would prefer it to be in a table like display. That way is not a long list. Anyways any ideas on how I can fix this issue im having? Please let me know if you need more information.

  • Opening Word documents from IE LAG Windows 7 IE8

    Hi, I'm having a lot of trouble opening documents from a network share in word using IE. The documents are located in a network share which is mapped to a virtual directory. The documents are accessed by URLs that link to the virtual directory. There is now a huge lag (sometimes up to a minute or two!) from when clicking on the link to the document opening in word. The 'loading disc' in IE just keeps spinning and nothing happens. Sometimes a pop up box appears with 'opening file - (address)' but it still takes ages. I've tried setting in the registry to open the files directly in ie but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas? Steve

  • Couldn't start mysql service in linux

    Iam trying to install one version of mysql in a LINUX machine. The system contain already another version of mysql installation. I prefer manual installation. Copy the exctracted tarball into a location and create symbolic link to that. I wish to install my mysql version without affecting already installed mysql version in the system. I created mysqld as service. But It couldn't start. When Iam trying to start this mysqld process, it shows an error like: Starting MySQL............................................................ ......................................... ERROR! The server quit without updating PID file (/var/lib/mysql/Test.pid). Please help me, is any wrong with my installation???   • How do I install pgAdmin III for postgreSQL 9.2?

    I have a Windows server that runs postgresql 9.2. I want to hit it using pgAdmin III from my Ubuntu 12.10 workstation box. I installed pgAdmin III from synaptic and also tried direct download from postgreSQL site using software installer. Regardless, I can get only get pgAdmin III for postgresql 9.1. When I run pgAdmin III and point to my server I get an error message telling me that the database is 9.2 and my pgAdmin III is for 9.1, isn't compatible with 9.2. I can access the server itself fine OK from the Ubuntu box - I have Python programs that hit the database with no problems - but I need pgAdmin III for 9.2 running under Ubuntu 12.10. Is it available? Where do I get it?

The website is now available in french and english and I did look on the internet the best way to do if we want to do not lose any ranking and to have our pages on Google. Here is what I did: I did set a response header: Content-Language:en and Content-Language:fr My URLs are formatted as: http://www.website.com/en/... and http://www.website.com/fr/... My html tag is set with a lang attribute: <html lang="en"> and <html lang="fr"> There is a <link rel="alternate" hreflang="en" href="EnglishPageUrl"> on french pages and a <link rel="alternate" hreflang="en" href="frenchPageUrl"> on english pages. But Google keeps referring to some english pages when I'm doing a search on french engine, knowing that the website was first only available in english. Is that normal? Do I have to wait still, it has been now almost one month, I thought it would be okay...? Thank you.

  • Ubuntu hardware wireless switch has no effect after suspend and 13.10 upgrade

  • Second monitor not detected

    Hi I have two VGA monitors, my GPU is ATI PowerColor 6850 which has two DVI slots, I use adapters for both VGA monitors. If I connect any the two monitors in the first slot it will work right away (along the plugin confirmation sound). And if I connect any of both monitors to the second slot I won't get anything, nor a signal or confirmation sound. I also tried auto detecting via Catalyst Control Center and Windows Desktop Resolution. I have the latest drivers installed. EDIT: I found this on the Spec Description: Display Connectors DL-DVI-I/SL-DVI-D And in NewEgg: 2 x DVI (1 Single Link, 1 Dual Link) Could this have anything to do with my issue?

    I'm trying to optimise a page, and I'm seeing some strange behaviour. Each time I click on a link to the page, all resources are fetched from the server, responding with 200s. However, when I refresh the page (specifically, F5 in Firefox), all resources return a 304 and - of course - the page loads much faster as a result. The main page returns a 200 in both cases. In the refresh case, If-Modified-Since headers are sent with the requests to the resources. However, in the 'clicking a link' case, they are not. What's the reason for that, and can I control it?

    Hi I have recently started to learn C#/ASP.NET WebForms and after reading two books I thought I was ready to create my first web application. Problem is I could not have been more wrong. Although I am not quite a beginner as a programmer and have done some programming in Java (a Monopoly game), JavaScript (using jQuery), and PHP (create templates for WordPress), I never really created something that is database driven, and I can't seem to figure where to start. I am very confident in my HTML/CSS/jQuery skills, so that is not the problem. My end goal after becoming comfortable in ASP.NET WebForms is to learn MVC, ADO.NET, and the Entity Framework, and start a career as a .NET developer. I would like if someone could tell me some tutorials that build ASP.NET WebForms applications, such as a blog, so I can see what are the steps in creating an ASP.NET WebForms database driven application. I already have to projects in mind for ASP.NET. One is building a blog and the other building a job board.

If I would need to register a new row in a table in the database, how should we pass the various value of column into the system? For example, the user might want to register a new event in his planner and the detail of the event involves the 'where', 'when', 'who', 'detail', etc. Should pass all this long value from the servlet's parameter, i.e: the http link?
