  • Can I increase a buttons onclick-area programmatically?

    Sometimes I have a button in my UI that it is so small that it is difficult to click. My solution so far has been to add a transparent border around the button in photoshop. Just increasing the padding on the button does not work, since this will also stretch the image. Since it is kind of a fuss to open photoshop each time I want to change the clickable surface, is there any way to do this programmatically? I have tried placing a framelayout behind the button and make it clickable, but then the button wont change appearance on touch as it should. Ofcourse I could also add a ontouchlistener on the framelayout which changes the buttons appearance, but then it quite some code if I have several of those buttons. Cheers,

  • jQuery event.layerX/Y is not relative to the element that triggered the event, is that correct?

    If I use for example a mousemove event handler on a div and check the layerX property of the event, it changes when my mouse enters a positioned element inside that div (like an image). According to the jQuery Event object documentation it should follow the W3C DOM Level 3 specifications. But there's no mention of the layerX/Y property for the MouseEvent interface, so I'm wondering what behavior is according to specification? To me it seems that you always want the layerX/Y to be relative to the layer that fires the event, if I wanted the layerX/Y of a nested element, I would check the event in a different phase (bubbling) or would attach my handler to that nested element. My question is (somewhat subjective): how should layerX/Y work?

    Hi! I'm generating an HTML file for an app, and in this HTML file there's a link to a stylesheet and one to an image. Here's what I tried so far: NSMutableString *toReturn = [NSMutableString stringWithCapacity:100]; NSString *cssPath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"etapes.css" ofType:nil]; [toReturn appendFormat:@"<html><head><title></title><link href=\"%@\" media=\"all\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\" /></head><body>", cssPath]; It generates the right full path to the right file, this is okay if I want to access it on my mac, but on the simulator or my iPhone it doesn't point to the right place at all...     Hi all, I have used wmd-editor in my cakephp v1.3 application.   • ASP.NET How expensive is it to call an Application Variable many times?

    The short of it is: Is it costly to check an Application Variable such as Application("WebAppName") more 10-20 times each time a page loads? Background: (feel free to critique) Some includes in my site contain many links and images which cannot use relative urls due to their inclusion in different paths. Hence these includes contain frequent instances of <img src="<%=Application("Webroot")%>images\image.gif"> Is it expensive to keep calling an Application variable like this? Should I just put the Application value in some local variable to use where needed? IMPORTANT NOTE: I need my webapp to run fine on a server whether it be in the root web ("/") or in a virtual subweb ("/app"). Thanks in advance for any wisdom shared.

    Hello everyone, I've got the following two commands for imagemagick in the command line: convert in.png container-mask.png +matte -compose CopyOpacity -composite out.png composite container.png out.png -compose multiply final.png Those two commands include 3 files: in.png: the file that should be masked container-mask.png: the back/white mask of the areas of container.png where in.png should be visible container.png image that includes the container for in.png, the one that has been masked in black/white with container-mask.png Now the question is how to transpose this commands into PHP calls.   • Tinting iPhone application screen red

    I'm trying to place a red tint on all the screens of my iPhone application. I've experimented on a bitmap and found I get the effect I want by compositing a dark red color onto the screen image using Multiply (kCGBlendModeMultiply). So the question is how to efficiently do this in real time on the iPhone? One dumb way might be to grab a bitmap of the current screen, composite into the bitmap and then write the composited bitmap back to the screen. This seems like it would almost certainly be too slow. In addition, I need some way of knowing when part of the screen has been redrawn so I can update the tinting. I can almost get the effect I want by putting a red, translucent, fullscreen UIView above everything. That tints everything red within further intervention on my part, but the effect is much "muddier" than results from the composite. So do any wizards out there know of some mechanism I can use to automatically composite the red over the app in similar fashion to what the translucent red UIView does?

    Hi all, I have an application with a tab bar controller and each view contains a navigation controller. My MainWindow looks as follows: Everything works fine as it is but I noticed a problem when pushing a details view to the navigation controller. In the didSelectRowAtIndexPath for a tableviewcontroller that belongs to the tab bar controller (the one called Latest in the image) I am doing this: - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { ArticleViewController *articleController = [[ArticleViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"ArticleView" bundle:nil]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:articleController animated:YES]; [articleController release]; articleController = nil; } The ArticleViewController has its own tabbar because it needs to display different things. The problem is that when I push the ArticleViewController into the navigationController I see both tabbars at the bottom of the view. Is there any way I can solve this problem? Thanks in advance

See: http://tinyurl.com/ylbtns2 The editor uses the css of the current template and loads an additional fix.css (inside the iframe) to override some rules: * { background-image: none !important; min-height: 0px !important; } #breadcrumbs, #content .sidebar, #footer, #header, #search_form { display: none; } #content { margin: 0px; width: 100%; } The problem: on first load the "min-height: 0px !important;" seems not to work - on second load the height of the editor iframe is 100px like it should be. Other rules like no background (fix.css) are working on first load and get overridden.

  • Prototype to JQuery - how to access originator of event

    Hi there I'm coming from a Prototype background and looking into JQuery. I'd like to know the 'right' way to do attach a click event to a bunch of elements, but then know in the event handler which one of my elements was clicked. I've come up with the following: MYNS.CarouselHelper.prototype.attachImgHandlers = function () { $j(".carouselItem").bind("click", this, function(e){ e.data.openCarouselImage(e) }); } I then have the following in my event handler: MYNS.CarouselHelper.prototype.openCarouselImage = function(e) { var img = e.currentTarget; // Do stuff to the image element }; Is this 'right'? It feels wrong to me as I am used to explicitly passing the element to the event handler in Prototype as I loop through an array of elements. Thanks in advance.

There are a few different 3rd party code frameworks that include calendar controls, but most of them have a lot of functionality I don't need, plus most of them lack sufficient documentation on how to use them and I'm not a proficient enough iPhone developer figure it out using just the code. So I'm going to attempt to build my own and I was hoping you could provide me with some high-level direction to get started. At a high level, how could I build a simple, calendar control that doesn't do much more than display a calendar (month view, with the current date highlighted) and allows the user to selected a date?     I am trying to write to a folder that is located on my C:\ drive. I keep getting the error of : Could not find a part of the path .. etc My filepath looks basically like this : C:\WebRoot\ManagedFiles\folder\thumbs\5c27a312-343e-4bdf-b294-0d599330c42d\Image\lighthouse.jpg And I am writing to it like so : using (MemoryStream memoryStream = new MemoryStream()) { thumbImage.Save(memoryStream, ImageFormat.Jpeg); using (FileStream diskCacheStream = new FileStream(cachePath, FileMode.CreateNew)) { memoryStream.WriteTo(diskCacheStream); } memoryStream.WriteTo(context.Response.OutputStream); } Don't worry too much about the memory stream. It is just outputting it (After I save it). Since I am creating a file, I am a bit perplexed as to why it cannot find the file (Shouldn't it just write to where I tell it to, regardless?). The strange thing is, It has no issue when I'm testing it above using File.Exists. Obviously that is returning false, But it means that atleast my Filepath is semi legit. Any help is much appreciated.

    Hello! I have a Debian-Based VPS on some hosting. I want to migrate from it and i need to make a full copy of all Linux-filesystem (and installed packages) + all home directory with website files. And then pack/convert it to ISO image so that to use it on cloud hostings like Amazon. The problem is that i have only ssh root access. Hosting support can't do that for me. Another part of the question - is it possible to enlarge the Linux-filesystem by not re-installing it and using the free space of home directory? Is it possible to do? I guess it is possible with rsync or something like that. Will my Mysql databes copy together with all other data? Thanks in advance!

  • Why does having a transitional doctype, cause my javascript to fail in WebKit and Opera Browsers

    Hi all I am trying to get a mouseover script to work, when there is no doctype set the script works fine in all browsers I test, but the site looks like a dogs breakfast However When i set the doctype to transitional (it has to be this doctype) Firefox and IE8 (&compat mode) work fine But Opera and the webkit browsers can only display the popup above the page fold, so if you scroll down the page and go over an image the popup appears above the visible page. And I can't figure out why, there are a couple of instances of document.all in the code, but my attempts to replace these have broken the code, besides the fact it works in Firefox and not Opera makes me think that document.all is not the issue Any help would be appreciated, even just telling me why a doctype would effect Javascript would be a help.   • Flex Builder 3 Unclosable Editor Windows

    See: http://i.imgur.com/pQNQh.png Somehow I made this happen and I don't know how to undo it. The image linked above shows my Flex Builder session. The largest section of the window is the editor. Initially, there was a blank window on the screen so I tried closing it, but I couldn't. Then I tried dragging it and realized I could drag it into a corner of itself, hence all the nested windows. I have no idea how to close these windows or simply reset the view. I went to the preferences under General Perspectives, but the "reset" button was disabled for every available perspective. Help?

  • AVPlayer seeking to a different point after app resume

    I have an AVPlayer, the video in it is ~2 seconds long. After the video plays, if the app goes to the background and reenters the foreground I need the video to still be shown exactly as it was when the app was exited. The AVPlayer sticks around just fine, however when I reenter the app from the background the video appears to be seeked to the middle of the video. However, if I just play the video, it starts from the beginning, so it doesn't seem like it actually seeked and is just showing a preview image. I've tried to auto-seek the video to the end on relaunch but nothing happens . Nothing I can figure out or find in the docs would describe this behavior. Any tips on having the video launch either at the beginning or end?

Also, according to Android Markets(AM) distribution agreement, an Android application published via AM, is not allowed to accept payments from any Payment collectors other than the one Market provides and/or Google checkout. We have decided to integrate Paypal, now that they have published Mobile Payments Library to Android developers. If we do so, can we publish our application on Android Market?

  • onclick event not working after ie7 reload

    I am using Javascript to dynamically create part of my page content. A routine that generates a set of img tags is called from the window.onload event. Those img tags are assigned attributes, including an onclick event. The img tags host thumbnail images that, when clicked, change the src property of the image in the main view div. Everything works properly in FF 3.5. I can reload the page and the dynamically generated onclick events continue to fire as expected. In IE7 everything works normally until I reload the page. At that point events that were hard coded into the xhtml section continue to work as expected, and the dynamically generated img tags are shown on the page, but their onclick events fail to work. How can I get IE7 to implement the dynamically generated click events on reload?

    I have defined a new LaTeX environment for excursions in a book chapter I am writing. The environment is multipage and often includes inline images. Moreover, I am using the shaded environment to give the environment a background colour to make it stand out a bit. However, the environment, as shown below, is split up by floating tables and images, which makes the flow of the environment visually more difficult to follow. For example, it is now difficult to see if that floating image or table is part (the missing background colour does not help).
