  • Creating Synch Point In TFS Source Tree Development Cycle

    - by Rob G
Our development cycle rarely requires a branch so we have what tfs appears to consider a single, never-ending development cycle. Our problem is that each build includes an ever increasing long "Generating list of changesets and updating work items" step that includes all changesets/work items back to day 1. What is the proper step that we need to perform to formally lock and label (wrong terms I'm sure) the source tree so that a new cycle of changesets and work items can begin. Thanks!

  • What's the easiest way to add Java servlets to a WAMP configured machine?

    - by Rhubarb
I have WAMP installed on my local machine and am looking to serve up charts using jFree's Eastwood charting, which requires me to use servlets. So basically I will insert images with src tags that have URLs pointing to my servlet on the same machine. What's the easiest way to enable servlets on the same machine? Do I need to install a servlet server on a different port? Or is there a way to integrate it into WAMP?

  • Creating semaphores with unmanaged code in C++

    - by Dororo
I've been using the MSDN Library to create semaphores, located at: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.threading.semaphore.aspx However, the examples are using Managed code (requires /clr), and I need to use Unmanaged code because FreeType doesn't like working with Managed code it seems. How would I go about creating 2 simple threads which use a semaphore if I'm using unmanaged code? Many thanks for your help.

  • How to interface NIOS-II with external vhdl module

    - by bobbyb
I'm looking for a bus to connect a nios-II core to an external vhdl module i have written. I can probably do it with GPIOs but this seems like a poor way of doing it and pretty much requires me to implement my own bus from scratch. Does altera provide any sort of bus like structure in SOPC I could use to do this? Thanks!

  • Using a WebView widget to authorize access

    - by tunneling
I am trying to access a server that requires authorization using the WebView widget in Android. I think it's the .htaccess type of authorization. I works with the default browser provided with the OS, but when I try it with a WebView.. it gives a 401 immediately. Any ideas on how I can have a WebView present the dialog to enter the user/pass (and remember it)? Thanks.

  • TabBar Stop The Popping

    - by Jim Bonner
If have a Navigation Bar and a Tab Bar in one of my views. This is all working fine. One of the Tab Bar items requires pushing several other view controllers on the navigation stack before I get the where I need to be. This is also working. When I click on the tab bar item, it marches right back up the stack. How can I make the desired controller stick in the tab bar item?

  • Why is this line breaking Rails with Passenger on DreamHost?

    - by Frew
Ok, so I have a Rails app set up on DreamHost and I had it working a while ago and now it's broken. I don't know a lot about deployment environments or anything like that so please forgive my ignorance. Anyway, it looks like the app is crashing at this line in config/environment.rb: require File.join(File.dirname(__FILE__), 'boot') config/boot.rb is pretty much normal, but I'll include it here anyway. # Don't change this file! # Configure your app in config/environment.rb and config/environments/*.rb RAILS_ROOT = "#{File.dirname(__FILE__)}/.." unless defined?(RAILS_ROOT) module Rails class << self def boot! unless booted? preinitialize pick_boot.run end end def booted? defined? Rails::Initializer end def pick_boot (vendor_rails? ? VendorBoot : GemBoot).new end def vendor_rails? File.exist?("#{RAILS_ROOT}/vendor/rails") end def preinitialize load(preinitializer_path) if File.exist?(preinitializer_path) end def preinitializer_path "#{RAILS_ROOT}/config/preinitializer.rb" end end class Boot def run load_initializer Rails::Initializer.run(:set_load_path) end end class VendorBoot < Boot def load_initializer require "#{RAILS_ROOT}/vendor/rails/railties/lib/initializer" Rails::Initializer.run(:install_gem_spec_stubs) end end class GemBoot < Boot def load_initializer self.class.load_rubygems load_rails_gem require 'initializer' end def load_rails_gem if version = self.class.gem_version gem 'rails', version else gem 'rails' end rescue Gem::LoadError => load_error $stderr.puts %(Missing the Rails #{version} gem. Please `gem install -v=#{version} rails`, update your RAILS_GEM_VERSION setting in config/environment.rb for the Rails version you do have installed, or comment out RAILS_GEM_VERSION to use the latest version installed.) exit 1 end class << self def rubygems_version Gem::RubyGemsVersion if defined? Gem::RubyGemsVersion end def gem_version if defined? RAILS_GEM_VERSION RAILS_GEM_VERSION elsif ENV.include?('RAILS_GEM_VERSION') ENV['RAILS_GEM_VERSION'] else parse_gem_version(read_environment_rb) end end def load_rubygems require 'rubygems' min_version = '1.1.1' unless rubygems_version >= min_version $stderr.puts %Q(Rails requires RubyGems >= #{min_version} (you have #{rubygems_version}). Please `gem update --system` and try again.) exit 1 end rescue LoadError $stderr.puts %Q(Rails requires RubyGems >= #{min_version}. Please install RubyGems and try again: http://rubygems.rubyforge.org) exit 1 end def parse_gem_version(text) $1 if text =~ /^[^#]*RAILS_GEM_VERSION\s*=\s*["']([!~<>=]*\s*[\d.]+)["']/ end private def read_environment_rb File.read("#{RAILS_ROOT}/config/environment.rb") end end end end # All that for this: Rails.boot! Does anyone have any ideas? I am not getting any errors in the log or on the page. -fREW

  • How are updates to the .net framework handled in azure?

    - by Allen
If someone is hosting something in Azure and a new KB comes along and requires the .net framework to be updated, how is this handled in Azure? Do they automatically update it for you or give you the option to remain at the older version? I'm more interested in how the versioning is handled, rather than uptime etc. Do they force you to stay at the most up to date version of a given version number? As in, the most up to date version of 3.5, etc.

  • Free SVN repo server without requiring a project

    - by Nathan Campos
I want to know if there are any free Subversion repository hosting servers where you don't need to have a 'project' to host your C++ files in. I don't have a actual project, but I want to store my C++ in an SVN repository. I am looking for something like OpenSVN where you can upload your C++ files, but it requires you to have a project. Can you recommend a Subversion hosting service where you can upload your files to an account, rather than a project. Something like: http://www.test-svn.com/~nathanpc/

  • Ruby on Rails POST parameters on redirect_to

    - by Splashlin
I have to make a call to a different url in one of my controllers on my site. The problem is that with all the parameters the other site requires I'm overflowing the url. Is there anyway to call another url from the controller and send all of the parameters using a POST? I'm not expecting a response from the other site. Also, I think there's a way to do this using the Net::HTTP library thought I'm not sure how. Thanks

  • Is scala's cake pattern possible with parametrized components?

    - by Nicolas
Parametrized components work well with the cake pattern as long as you are only interested in a unique component for each typed component's, example: trait AComponent[T] { val a:A[T] class A[T](implicit mf:Manifest[T]) { println(mf) } } class App extends AComponent[Int] { val a = new A[Int]() } new App Now my application requires me to inject an A[Int] and an A[String], obviously scala's type system doesn't allow me to extends AComponent twice. What is the common practice in this situation ?

  • text fields and PHP

    - by moustafa
Does anyone know if it's possible to have several text fields that place the data into different spots in the same web page. If needed I could just use two pages, it doesn't really matter. I've heard this requires a PHP script, but I'm not sure how to set this up.

  • Push alerts to notification tray app in Java

    - by Rich Anderson
Hi - how do I push server alerts to tray apps in java without using xmpp or other heavy protocols? Do you recommend a way to accomplish this? I was planning to write an app which uses URLConnection on a server equipped with Comet but I doubt if that would work as the client requires a JS to be invoked and URLConnection is not a browser.. What is the best way to push instead of using a proprietary client-server approach?

  • faster strlen ?

    - by Jack
Typical strlen() traverse from first character till it finds \0. This requires you to traverse each and every character. In algorithm sense, its O(N). Is there any faster way to do this where input is vaguely defined. Like: length would be less than 50, or length would be around 200 characters. I thought of lookup blocks and all but didn't get any optimization.
