  • Codeigniter - form not rendering on live server?

    - by pingu
hi guys, I've written a small website with CI, which is all working fine on dev. However, when I copy the files over for live, everything works except for my form which is not being rendered. I am using <?php echo form_open('home'); ?> and <?php echo form_close(); ?> The form fields within the form, which I'm generating as follows are being rendered fine, but there is simply no form around them?! <?php $data = array( 'name'=> 'name', 'id'=> 'name', 'class'=>'textfield', 'value' => set_value('name') ); echo form_input($data); ?> Any ideas - I've used CI on a few apps, and this is the first time I've come across this issue. I've got all the helpers etc called correctly, as this is working perfectly in the development environment.

  • jQuery Ajax form submit, to call php login script

    - by Stevie Jenowski
Thanks for checking out my problem... I'm having trouble submitting a login form via Ajax for a php script to run and return a new set of html items which will be replacing the HTML in #userlinks.... heres what I have so far $("#login_form").submit(function() { return false; }); $('#login_button').click(function(event) { $form = $(this).parent("form"); $.post($form.attr("action"), $form.serialize(), function(data){ $('#userlinks').html(data); }); }); The php script checks for post data of username && password, yet all I'm getting is a page refresh and no changes. Nothing returns unless I turn login_button into a link and change the script a bit... Any help would be appreciated!

  • Best way to create a preview functionality in rails

    - by slythic
Hi all, I'm looking to implement a preview functionality in my posts scaffold. All I need to do is allow a user to enter information in the new view (/posts/new) and then replace the submit button with a preview button. Once the preview button is clicked, the user is routed to the preview page (probably /posts/new/preview). If the user wants to make a change they would click 'go back' or if they are happy with the post they can then submit the post. I found this article (http://eyedeal.team88.org/node/105) but it seems dated. Any ideas on what the best approach for this would be? Many thanks, Tony

  • Application loses authentication when performing redirect to a virtual directory

    - by nuhusky2003
I have the following setup: http://www.example.com/dir1/ and http://www.example.com/dir2/ Each virtual directory is configured on IIS6.0 as an application with own AppPool. When redirecting authenticated user from dir1 to dir2 using response.redirect I lose authentication information for the user and the user is being redirected to the login page. This issue was not coming up with each app (dir1 and dir2) were configured under subdomain, ex: http://dir1.example.com and http://dir2.example.com. I have resolved the issue by adding a machine key to the machine.config file. Can someone explain to me why it's not working on a http://www.example.com/dir1 configuration?

  • Validating Time & Date To Be At Least A Certain Amount Of Time In The Future

    - by MJH
I've built a reservation form for a taxi company which works fine, but I'm having an issue with users making reservations that are due too soon in the future. Since the entire form is kind of long, I first want to make sure the user is not trying to make a reservation for less than an hour ahead of time, without them having to fill out the whole form. This is what I have come up with so far, but it's just not working: <?php //Set local time zone. date_default_timezone_set('America/New_York'); //Get current date and time. $current_time = date('Y-m-d H:i:s'); //Set reservation time variable $res_datetime = $_POST['res_datetime']; //Set event time. $event_time = strtotime($res_datetime); ?> <!doctype html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Check Date and Time</title> </head> <?php //Check to be sure reservation time is at least one hour in the future. if (($current_time - $event_time) <= (3600)) { echo "You must make a reservation at least one hour ahead of time."; } ?> <form name="datetime" action="" method="post"> <input name="res_datetime" type="datetime-local" id="res_datetime"> <input type="submit"> </form> <body> </body> </html> How can I create a validation check to make sure the date and time of the reservation is at least one hour ahead of time?

  • why doesn't hitting enter when a SELECT is focused submit the form?

    - by Marc
Consider the following HTML: <form action=""> <input /> <select> <option>A</option> <option>B</option> </select> <input type="submit" /> </form> If the focus is on the input (text box) and I hit enter, the form submits. But, if the focus is on the select (dropdown box) and I hit enter, nothing happens. I know I could figure out some JavaScript to override this, but I want to know why hitting enter doesn't just work? Is there something I would break by capturing the enter with JavaScript (maybe some native keyboard accessibility of the dropdown)?

  • How do I sanitize a string in PHP that contains "; Echo"? (I have a solid reason)

    - by user337878
I turned this case into a simple PHP page that submits to itself. My issue is that I am submitting track meet results and one of the girl's names is Echo...a lovely name. The problem text I'm submitting is: Pole vault - Rachel Simons, Tow, 8-6; Echo Wilson, Cit, 8-0; Molly Randall, Tow, 7-0; So you see a semicolon followed by white space followed by Echo... After submitting, it says: POST to /results/test.php not supported The end goal is to save it to a database along with some other info and have a search page to find it and simply print out the full result on the screen. I stripped out all my database stuff to get it down to this one error. I mean, I can intentionally mis-spell her name, but there's gotta be a way around this, right??? Here's the test PHP file. <html> <head> <title>title</title> </head> <body> <?php echo "<h3>Edit meet info below</h3>"; echo "<form action=\"test.php\" method=\"post\" id=\"submitForm\">"; echo "Full Results:<br/><textarea NAME=\"results\" id=\"results\" rows=\"20\" cols=\"80\" MAXLENGTH=\"8191\"></textarea><br/><br/>"; echo "<input type=\"submit\" name=\"submitMeet\" value=\"Submit\">"; echo "</form>"; ?> </body> </html>

  • What is a right way to use servlets?

    - by vikp
Hi, I'm studying EJB3. I have a session bean which provides services to create/update customer accounts. This session bean offers services on the lines of: public void addCustomer(Customer c); public void updateCustomer(Customer c); Ideally I'd like to have a single servlet: CustomerServlet and it would invoke the session beans that I have listed above. Problem is that I have two JSPs: UpdateAccount.jsp and CreateAccount.jsp. Both of these JSPs have a form with a method POST and action "CustomerServlet". How can I distinguish in a customer servlet which operation I should carry out: createAccount or updateAccount? I guess the alternative is to have a separate servlet for each operation... Thank you

  • rails add :prompt to form_tag fields?

    - by bob
    Hey guys, My question is simple. Can I add either of the blow :prompt => "Any" :include_blank => true to a form in form_tag. Here is an example. I would like to add :prompt to the select_tag :condition and select_tag :category fields and am having trouble. <ul id="homepage_searchbar"> <% form_tag junklists_path, :method => :get do %> <li> <%= image_tag('search_icon.png', :id => 'main_search_icon' ) %> </li> <li> <%= text_field_tag :search, "I'm looking for junk called...", :id => "main_field" %> </li> <li> <%= select_tag :condition, options_for_select(Condition.all.collect{|condition| [condition.name, condition.id]}) %> </li> <li> <%= select_tag :category, options_for_select(nested_set_options(Category) {|i| "#{'-' * i.level} #{i.name}"})%> </li> <li> <%= submit_tag "Go!", :name => 'main_submit', :id => "main_submit" %> </li> <% end %> </div> If I can't do it the way I want, how can I add a field at the top of the select boxes that has the text "Any" but has no value when the form is submitted? Thanks in advance!

  • How to add default value on save form?

    - by Ignacio
I have an object Task and a form that saves it. I want to automatically asign created_by field to the currently logged in user. So, my view is this: def new_task(request, task_id=None): message = None if task_id is not None: task = Task.objects.get(pk=task_id) message = 'TaskOK' submit = 'Update' else: task = Task(created_by = GPUser(user=request.user)) submit = 'Create' if request.method == 'POST': # If the form has been submitted... form = TaskForm(request.POST, instance=task) if form.is_valid(): task = form.save(commit=False); task.created_by = GPUser(user=request.user) task.save() if message == None: message = 'taskOK' return tasks(request, message) else: form = TaskForm(instance=task) return custom_render('user/new_task.html', {'form': form, 'submit': submit, 'task_id':task.id}, request) The problem is, you guessed, the created_by field doesn't get saved. Any ideas? Thanks

  • Facebook charset detection mechanism?

    - by Void
Today, I have looked into HTML code of facebook.com, and found something like this: <input type="hidden" value="€,´,€,´,?,?,?" name="charset_test"/> It's repeated two times inside the <form>...</form>. Any idea what this code might be useful for - some kind of server-side client charset detection? As far as I know, browser charset is being transmitted in HTTP request anyway (an "Accept-Charset" header).

  • Very strange form behaviour

    - by musoNic80
I can't work this out. One minute it was working fine and now it's not and I can't see what's changed!! My problem is simply submitting a username and password for a login function. The form method is set to "post" but for some reason no data is getting through. If I dump $_REQUEST or $_POST they return empty. I know the form is submitting because if I change the method to "get" I receive the data as expected. Can anyone think of any reason why "get" would work when "post" isn't?!?!? If it's relevant, I'm using the codeigniter framework.

Hey guys, I've been trying to understand the documentation and find an example, but I'm at a loss. This is just a submit form within the cart for updating the quantity. However, the updated quantity is not getting saved to the database -- it always makes the quantity 0. Please help. • Loop throught form inputs

    - by Victor
I have a form with lots of inputs. I want to get each id and value and then put them in $.load method. I tried this: $("#form input").each(function() { var name = $(this).attr("id"); var value = $(this).attr("value"); $.extend(params, { name, value }); }); and then use $.load("script.php", params); But obviously it doesn't work. In params I have only one element "name". And I'm not sure I should use extend method too.

  • How to pass form errors in session or flash? [Rails 2.3.5]

    - by yuval
I have a create action for a form that potentially generates errors (i.e. first name is missing) and then redirects. The problem is, that when the redirect happens those form errors get lost. How could I pass those form errors in a session to be displayed back in the original form (which should still be filled out with the previous details, as in the original error_messages behavior)? Thanks!

  • Mongoid Embeds_many won't save on nested form

    - by Brandon J McKay
I've got an embeds_many association I'm trying to set up which I've done successfully before, but I'm trying to do it all in one nested form and I can't figure it out. Let's say we have a pocket model: class Pocket include Mongoid::Document field :title, type: String embeds_many :coins, cascade_callbacks: true end and a Coin Model: class Coin include Mongoid::Document field :name, type: String embedded_in :pocket end in my form for the pocket, I'm using: = f.fields_for @pocket.coins do |coin| = coin.text_field :name My controller is the default scaffolded controller. When I use the console, it saves fine and I can see the new pocket and coin I've created. But when I try to create or update a coin from the form, the pocket saves but the coin remains unchanged. What am I missing here?

  • Contact form problem - I do receive messages, but no contents (blank page).

    - by nitbuntu
    I have a contact form on site which used to work, but since last few months has stopped working properly. This could have been due to some coding error that I can't figure out. What happens is that I receive the messages sent, but they are completely blank, with no contents at all. What could be the problems? I'm attaching first the front-end page, and then the back-end. Sample of contact.php the front-end code:- <div id="content"> <h2 class="newitemsxl">Contact Us</h2> <div id="contactcontent"> <form method="post" action="contactus.php"> Name:<br /> <input type="text" name="Name" /><br /> Email:<br /> <input type="text" name="replyemail" /><br /> Your message:<br /> <textarea name="comments" cols="40" rows="4"></textarea><br /><br /> <?php require("ClassMathGuard.php"); MathGuard::insertQuestion(); ?><br /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Send" /> * Refresh browser for a different question. :-) </form> </div> </div> Sample of contactus.php (backend code):- <?php /* first we need to require our MathGuard class */ require ("ClassMathGuard.php"); /* this condition checks the user input. Don't change the condition, just the body within the curly braces */ if (MathGuard :: checkResult($_REQUEST['mathguard_answer'], $_REQUEST['mathguard_code'])) { $mailto="[email protected]"; $pcount=0; $gcount=0; $subject = "A Stylish Goods Enquiry"; $from="[email protected]"; echo ("Great, you're message has been sent !"); //insert your code that will be executed when user enters the correct answer } else { echo ("Sorry, wrong answer, please go back and try again !"); //insert your code which tells the user he is spamming your website } while (list($key,$val)=each($HTTP_POST_VARS)) { $pstr = $pstr."$key : $val \n "; ++$pcount; } while (list($key,$val)=each($HTTP_GET_VARS)) { $gstr = $gstr."$key : $val \n "; ++$gcount; } if ($pcount > $gcount) { $comments=$pstr; mail($mailto,$subject,$comments,"From:".$from); } else { $comments=$gstr; mail($mailto,$subject,$comments,"From:".$from); } ?>

  • PHP code not working on IE

    - by Michael Frey
I have a website with a flag. If it is clicked, the language of the website changes. Here is the code displaying the flag, which is a form with post event: <?php $pagename = $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']; echo '<form action="'.$pagename.'" method="post"> <input name="formlanguage" type="image" '; if ($_SESSION['lang'] == 0) { echo 'alt="English" src="images/en.png" value="1" '; } else { echo 'alt="Deutsch" src="images/de.png" value="0" '; } echo '/></form>'; ?> Here is the response to that, and this part always fails on IE: if (isset($_POST['formlanguage'])) { $_SESSION['lang']=$_POST['formlanguage']; } I can not figure out why it works on Chrome but not IE. I assume that it might be a setting of IE. But what could that be?
