  I am having a web form initially which have href as follows <a href="downloadInfo.aspx">ACH File Management System Trail(msi)</a> <a href="downloadInfo.aspx">ACH File Management System Trail(zip)</a> These are my two anchor tags when i click on this i will redirect both to a same page where user has to fill details and a mail will be send to the user for the given mail id. When the user clicks on mail i would like to have the download for which he opted to download. If msi means i would like to prompt msi file to be downloaded and if zip it should be downloaded I need this to be worked with out using query-string

  Today I hit something very annoying while working with one of my colleagues. It seems there are two Point classes in .NET and by mistake we were trying for a good few minutes to figure out why our "Point(x,y)" wouldn’t take double, but only Int. Turns out we were using the wrong one since the XAML element in question needed the version with Double. So, based on what you actually want to do, make sure you’re using the right namespace. • How can two programs talk to each other in Java?

  I want to ?reduce? the CPU usage/ROM usage/RAM usage - generally?, all system resources that my app uses - who doesn't? :) For this reason I want to split the preferences window from the rest of the application, and let the preferences window to run as ?independent? program. The preferences program ?should? write to a Property file(not a problem at all) and to send a "update signal" to the main program - which means it should call the update method (that i wrote) that found in the Main class. How can I call the update method in the Main program from the preferences program? To put it another way, is a way to build preferences window that take system resources just when the window appears? Is this approach - of separating programs and let them talk to each other (somehow) - the right approach for speeding up my programs?

  I am writing some eclipse emf code and would like to print the content of an EObject (not store it to disk). • Hiding "Print to file" in a Java print dialog

  I'm maintaining this Swing app that has a "print" option. Users need to be kept from interacting in any way with the underlying file system, but the print dialog offers "print to file" as one printer, and that of course allows selecting a directory and file from the file system. Is there a painless way to override/modify the print dialog to hide the "to file" printer from this dialog? I understand the API will let me do this piecemeal but I'd rather not have to re-create most of the dialog GUI and functionality to do this.

If I load App2.xap and App3.xap and instantiate an Application class within one of the other two XAPs. The Application.Current changes to be that new instance. I just want to get the merged Resource Dictionaries off the Application class.

  I keep running into situations where I don't know what event I have to listen to in order to execute my code at the correct time. Is there any way to get a log of all events that is raised? Any way to filter that log based on what object raised the event?   So I'm working on creating a very simple C program that just preforms shell commands. This is what I have so far: #include <stdio.h> int main() { char input[30]; fputs("$ ", stdout); fflush(stdout); fgets(input, sizeof input, stdin); system(input); } It works, but only for one command. For example if I compile and type ./cmd I get the $ prompt. If I type ls I get what I'm supposed to get. But then it exits and goes back to the regular system shell. How can I make it so after the user types a command it goes back to the "$" input.

  hi .. how do i make sure that the application iam developing will look the same on other windows-systems? iam developing now on a windows7, with .net 3.5 framework .. (VS 2008) as an example, i have a toolbar, that i changed its rendermode to system, it looks ok on my windows7, but when i run the application on windows xp, it is different, even the onmouseover backcolor is different. .. is there a way to make the application looks like on every windows system (talking abt xp, vista and windows 7 only), lets say like exporting the settings of all the controls with the application !? or any trick to make sure it will be always the same ? thankss in advance

• Adding a Jar to ext and using it in Eclipse

  I am providing a client with a lab station image for a school program. There is a library that I'd like to directly add to the JRE so that students can use the library without needing to fiddle with adding the classpath. As this is a basic after school program, the goal is to just get students into programming with as little overhead additions as possible. At this point, I have the lib put into the jre/lib/ext and Eclipse is able to find it, however it will not allow access to any of the classes. I see it in the JRE System Library and the classes and packages are showing up there but when I go to use it, I am getting an "Access restriction" error. When I remove the JRE System Library then add it back in, everything works swimmingly. The library is accessible exactly as intended. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

  I'm making a data prosessing system, which currently is using csv-data as input and output form. In the future I might want to add support for example database-, xml-, etc. typed input and output forms. How should I desing my program so that it would be easy to add support for new type of data sources? Should simply make for example an abstract data class (which would contain the basic file prosessing methods) and then inherit this class for database, xml, etc. cases? Hope my question is clear =) In other words my question is: "How to desing a file prosessing system, which can be easily updated to accept input data from different sources (database, XML, Excel, etc.)".

  I am trying to do a simple read of an Avro file stored in HDFS. I found out how to read it when it is on the local file system.... I cannot give the openReader a Path or an FSDataInputStream. How can I simply read an Avro file in HDFS? EDIT: I got this to work by creating a custom class (SeekableHadoopInput) that implements SeekableInput. I "stole" this from "Ganglion" on github. Still, seems like there would be a Hadoop/Avro integration path for this. Thanks

  I'm looking to a design a protocol for a client-server application and need some links to some resources that may help me. The big part is I'm trying to create my own "packet" format so I can minimize the amount of information being sent. I'm looking for some resources to dissect their protocol, but it seems some completely lack packet design, such as SMTP (which just sends strings terminated by CLRF). What are the advantages/disadvantages of using a system like SMTP over a system that uses a custom made packet? Couldn't SMTP use only a couple bytes to cover all commands through bit flags and save bandwidth/space? Just trying to get my head around all this.

• Delphi: How to localize description for a menu shortcut?

  Is there a way to get a localized description of a shortcut like Ctrl+Z so that I get "Ctrl+Z" if the app runs on an English system and "Strg+Z" on a German system? The VCL function ShortCutToText isn't internationalized. The API function GetKeyNameText is a bit better but still not perfect: If one switches the regional settings of a German XP to English (US), it still produces German texts. Besides the results are in CAPITALS which is ugly. Clarification: I know how I can replace ShortCutToText or the Smkc* resource strings with customized versions. But to use that I need the translated strings. And I would like to get these from the OS (or similar). Update: It looks like Microsoft expects developers to do the translation on their own - see 2. in Associating a Menu Item with an Accelerator Key.

  My program frequently stops with a deadlock. When I do a break-all and look at the threads I see that three threads are stuck in our logging function: public class Logging { public static void WriteClientLog(LogLevel logLevel, string message) { #if DEBUG System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine(String.Format("{0} {1}", DateTime.Now.ToString("HH:mm:ss"), message)); //LOCK #endif //...Log4net logging } } If I let the program continue the threads are still stuck on that line. I can't see where this can lock. The debug class, string class & datetime class seem to be thread safe. The error goes away when I remove the "#if DEBUG System... #endif" code but I'm curious why this behavior happens. • How do I make "simple" throughput j2ee-filter?

  I'm looking to create a filter that can give me two things: number of request pr minute, and average responsetime pr minute. I already got the individual readings, I'm just not sure how to add them up. I don't want to store the data in any database. Just a way to get current numbers out when requested As this is a high volume application; low overhead is essential. I'm assuming my applicationserver doesn't provide this information.
