    Hi, As the title suggests, I am trying to add a text editor with syntax highlighting to a project. I have asked a similar question before and got pointed in the direction of either: a) a UITextView and NSAttributedStrings Or b) a web view Can anyone shed some light on using either of These methods or suggest an alternative?   • ipad: UINavigationController Inside a ModalView not pushing views

    I have a UINavigationController with a UIViewcontroller containing a tableview that is being presented as a UIModalPresentationFormSheet on the ipad. Which works fine until I try to push another view on top of it. Nothing happens anyone else have this issue? It also works perfectly on the iphone. and the didselectrowatindexpath is not a branched method. Nick

  • Flex PopUpManager: How can I detect the existence of a modal popup?

    My Flex 3 application has some modal dialogs displayed via the PopUpManager, but there are times when I'd like other view components to know there is popup displayed. The PopUpManager doesn't have any method for actually checking the existence of popups. Is there any other way to detect this in flash/flex without writing my own global manager? (also systemManager.popUpChildren.numChildren == 0 even when there's a modal popup) Cheers.

    Yet another iPhone/Objective-C noob question. I'm using a singleton to store app state information. I'm including the singleton in a Utilities class that holds it (and eventually other stuff).     I have an iPad app that I would like to make Universal, however this seems alarmingly difficult. I've changed things around so that I support both builds, but when building, I get lots of errors about using UIPopOvers. Here're my questions: Why does UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() not compile or register on 3.1.3? Can I conditionally have variables in a class definition based on UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM()? If not, should I make two different view controllers? Thanks!

  • NetworkActivityIndicator not working the same on iPhone and Simulator?

    I am using the NetworkActivityIndicator to show that my App is doing some work. When I run the app in the simulator, it shows the way I want - basically spinning the entire time until the selected tab loads the data from the server - but when I put the app onto my phone, I only get a split-second of the spinner before it disappears. Usually only spins right before the view appears on the screen. Ideas?

    Hi, I am pretty new to programming(just finished University). I have been thought in the last 4 years about Object Oriented development and the numerous advantages of this approach. My question is Isn't it easier to use a pure Object Oriented database in development applications? Why Object Oriented database are not as much diffuse as relational? From my point of view makes sense to use OO database, the latter will avoid the numerous construction necessary for the mapping of complex objects on the tables.

  • TortoiseSVN : Good 'patch file' viewer ?

    Hi, The default patch file viewer is messy (ie. no side by side diff view etc). I tried setting the path of beyondCompare exe in "Settings-Unified Diff Viewer-custom", but beyond compare also behaves same as default diff tool. Is there a way to atleast allow side by side diff in patch files ? If so, what is the method ? My aim is to allow emailing of changes so that they can be reviewed before I commit them :) Mishal

I have a problem using a view to retrieve a document by key: curl http://127.0.0.1:5984/basic/_design/example/_view/by_date?key="2009/01/15 15:52:20" gives the reply: curl: (52) Empty reply from server but just retrieving all rows: curl http://127.0.0.1:5984/basic/_design/example/_view/by_date gives me 3 rows including the specific row I am looking for: {"id":"hello-world","key":"2009/01/15 15:52:20","value":"Hello World"} why doesn't the key query work? I am using CouchDB version 0.10.0 on Ubuntu 9.10

  • iPhone SDK: Orientation (Landscape and Portrait views)

    Okay, I've got my normal app which is in portrait mode. I can force my app to go to landscape mode for a view (using navigationcontroller and viewcontroller) like this: - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [[UIDevice currentDevice] setOrientation:UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight]; } But then when I go back to the main menu (tableview) it goes straight back to portrait. I try this code: - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [[UIDevice currentDevice] setOrientation:UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait]; } But that doesn't work.. Any ideas?

  • Pound symbol not displaying on web page

    Hello I have a mysql database table to store country name and currency symbol - the CHARSET has correctly set to UTF8. This is example data inserted into the table insert into country ( country_name, currency_name, currency_code, currency_symbol) values ('UK','Pounds','GBP','£'); When I look in the database - the pound symbol appears fine - but when I retrieve it from the database and display it on the website - a weird square symbol shows up with a question mark inside instead of the pound symbol.   • How to observer when a UIAlertView is displayed?

    Is it anyway possible to observe if a UIAlertView is being displayed and call a function when it is. The UIAlertView is not being created and displayed in the same class which I want a function to be called in. Its hard to explain but to put it simply I need to somehow monitor or observe if the view becomes like out of first responder or something because I dont think it is possible to monitor if a UIAlertView is being displayed :/
