  • I am unsure of how to access a persistence entity from a JSP page?

    Hi, I am just learning Java EE, I have created a Persistence entity for a User object, which is stored in the database. I am now trying to create a JSP page that will allow a client to enter a new User object into the System. I am unsure of how the JSP page interacts with the User facade, the tutorials are confusing me a little.   • Line graph disappears after new line is added

    I am having trouble uploading a large .csv file to my HIGHCHART graph. I've been able to graph an 85KB up to 1486 lines by 9 (I) columns.   • What's causing this background-image to display "incorrectly" in Opera and Firefox?

    I know this is something I'm probably doing wrong, so please don't incinerate me for the thread title. I'm trying to put together a small personal website using HTML 5/CSS3. I've checked with the w3c validator and the site and CSS file fully conform according to the validator (However the validator has a warning attached that it might not be perfect). I'm not sure how to explain it without a picture, so here's a comparison of Chrome/Opera/Firefox: So, you can sorta see how in Chrome the background image is in one non-repeating piece, whereas in Opera/Firefox the image has, oddly, been broken up and placed slightly differently. I'm confident this is due to an error on my part, but I've had no luck at all figuring out why the image is being mangled in Opera and Firefox.     I'm being an idiot. Someone cut and pasted some text from microsoft word into my lovely html files. I now have these unicode characters instead of regular quote symbols, (i.e. quotes appear as <92 in the text) I want to do a regex replace but I'm having trouble selecting them. :%s/\u92/'/g :%s/\u5C/'/g :%s/\x92/'/g :%s/\x5C/'/g ...all fail. My google-fu has failed me.

    Exception handling aside, I'm using the following to input a line of text in Java: BufferedReader strin = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in)); String txt = null; txt = strin.readLine(); However, I want to be able to edit an existing string, so that if txt were initialized to "hello" instead of null, then the readLine() would have the "hello" text in the buffer for me to edit. I can't see how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

    I am creating an interpreter for my esolang, and I need the user to enter some text which then will be interpreted as an INTERCAL program. I want the user to enter text, which may contain any character including newlines, until the user presses ^X (Ctrl-X), like this: Enter your code followed by ^X: Bla Blablabla Bla^X Thank you for entering your code (line 2, 3 and 4 were entered by the user) can anyone explain me how I can read input including newlines till the user enters ^X?   • Showing div based on filled form field

    I have this script where I use a slider to show some elements of a form. So far so good. The way I'm doing it is by having a slider (can't use a multistep form since it uses a plugin not allowing multistep forms, plus some graphic behaviors) and a button that goes to the next slider. So now I need that button (not part of the form) to show only if a certain field is filled. I tried teh following, but it's not working, I assume some error but can't figure what. I have spent a rediculous amount of time experimenting with various methods of hashing the plain text password for storage. Can anyone suggest a way to hash a password so it can be later verified against a username token digest sent by the client. I can't seem to get the client password to authenticate against my stored hash

    to read a child node content i use : MYDATA = xhr.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("MenuItem") [INDEX].getElementsByTagName("PageContent")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue; sometimes when the childnode data contains an HTML tag (eg b or br tags, because they have the <), i have problems since they are counted like xml tags (like childnodes). my question is how to get the entire data from a child node even if it contains other html tags exp : MenuItem MenuText menu b text b MenuText MenuItem would return "menu" !!! but i want it to return :"menu text" thank you guys, and happy new year

    I have a job to develop a website. My client wants it so that there is a header, a menu and for the content a rectangle-like box in which you can scroll the text. So that header and menu don't move but the text in the box does.
