  • Expand <div> tag to bottom of page with CSS

    Hi all, I know this question gets asked a lot because I have looked at many "solutions" trying to get this to work for me. I can get it to work if I hack up the html but I want to use all CSS. All I want is a header with two columns below it, and I want these three items to fill the entire page/screen, and I want to do it with CSS and without frames or tables. The XAMPP user interface looks exactly how I want my page to look, but again, I do not want to use frames. I cannot get the two orangeish colored columns to extend to the bottom of the screen. I do have it so it looks like the right column extends to the bottom of the screen just by changing the body background color to the same color as the background color of the right column, but I would like both columns to extend to the bottom so I didn't have to do that.   • Reboot windows machines at a certain time of day and automatically login with Python

    I know how to reboot machines remotely, so that's the easy part. However, the complexity of the issue is trying to setup the following. I'd like to control machines on a network for after-hours use such that when users logoff and go home, or shutdown their computers, whatever, python or some combination of python + windows could restart their machines (for cleanliness) and automatically login, running a process for the night, then in the morning, stop said process and restart the machine so the user could easily login like normal. I've looked around, haven't had too terribly much luck, though it looks like one could do it with a changing of the registry. That sounds like a rough idea though, modifying the registry on a per-day basis. Is there an easier way?

  • Advanced Registry Monitoring

    I'm attempting to create a small utility to watch for the creation (or modification) of a specific registry key, and to kill the process responsible for causing that registry modification. I have had success in watching the changes to the registry via a class called 'RegistryMonitor', however it does not give you any information on what process initiated the registry call, through some googling I found that a library called 'EasyHook' should be able to do what I want, but all the documentation states that its designed for a per-application hook. The program itself is a temporary security patch, until our vendors come out with an official security update. As best I can tell there isn't a way to do exactly what I want to accomplish from C#, which is the only language I can comfortable write, test and execute software in. Any help on this would be appreciated I'm considering watching the registry changes via the program I already have, then if the change is discovered (the pc is already infected) running RKill and locking down the PC to prevent the issue from getting any worse

  • Unable to center text in IE but works in firefox

    Can somebody point out where I'm going wrong with the following code. Text inside td elements need to be centered except for Summary and Experience. This only appears to work in Firefox/chrome. In IE8 all td text are displayed as left-justified. No matter what I try it doesn't center it. Any particular reason why this would happen?   • Writing out to a file in scheme

    The goal of this is to check if the character taken into account is a number or operand and then output it into a list which will be written out to a txt file. I'm wondering which process would be more efficient, whether to do it as I stated above (writing it to a list and then writing that list out into a file) or being writing out into a txt file right from the procedure. I'm new with scheme so I apologize if I am not using the correct terminology (define input '("3" "+" "4")) (define check (if (number? (car input)) (write this out to a list or directly to a file) (check the rest of file))) Another question I had in mind, how can I make it so that the check process is recursive? I know it's a lot of asking but I've getting a little frustrated with checking out the methods that I have found on other sites. I really appreciate the help!

  • Getting rails to execute root level file edits on system files without compromising security.

    I'm writing a Rails 3 application that needs to be able to trigger modifications to unix system config files. I'd like to insulate the file modifications from the consumer side by running them in a background process. I've considered writing out a temp file in rails and then copying the file with a bash script but that doesn't really insulate the system. I've also considered pulling from the database manually with a cron based script and updating the configs. But what I would really like is a component that can hook into the rails environment, read out what is needed from the database, and update the config files. This process needs to be run as root because the config files mostly live in /etc/whatever. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The "standard" way of assembling a web app. Create a WAR with all our app artifacts and all other components like hibernate and memcached etc are deployed in the tomcat/shared/lib area. b. Create a humongous war with everything included and nothing in tomcat/shared/lib. Pros for a - It keeps things modular and the war is small. Cons for a - dependency on shared/lib has to be managed especially by the deployment process. Pros for b - All dependencies are controlled by the build process removing any room for error. Cons for b - War is really, really big. If you are deploying over a network to a huge farm, then it might have an impact. want to see what thoughts others might have about this.

    I have click stream data such as referring URL, top landing pages, top exit pages and metrics such as page views, number of visits, bounces all in Google Analytics. I am required to build a data warehouse from scratch(which I believe is known as web-house) from this data. My questions are:- 1)Is it possible? Every day data increases (some in terms of metrics or measures such as visits and some in terms of new referring sites), how would the process of loading the warehouse go about? 2)What ETL tool would help me to achieve this?   • How do programs handle file "opened with..." them?

    I am wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. You know how for example, in most IDEs, if you open a source file with "open with", it runs the program and opens it up? and then if you open another one, it opens it in a new tab in the same process? My question is NOT how to add a program to the shell commands, but rather: How would a C# application "receive" a PDF file for example? How would the application open the file in the same process when another file is run with it (not having to instances of the program)?

  • jquery .append() not working for my html

    I have a program which appends an input(type="hidden") using jquery, to an html so that when I click the submit button, it passes the value to a php file and I can process it. However, it seems that the hidden type is not really being appended to the html nor it is being passed to the php file. I already used method="get" to see the values in the address bar and print_r to see the values being catched but there's nothing. To check if my form is actually passing a value, I added a <input type="hidden" name="absent[]" value="testing" /> in the HTML and the value got passed but the ones in the jquery aren't.   • monitor and kill runaway processes using 100% IO?

    Hello everyone, i have a few processes that have to be run at high priority (chrt 98) that will occasionally decide to hard-lock and peg 1 core at 100% (not a huge deal) but more importantly it will use all the IO on a system, so much that its impossible to log into the machine via ssh to kill it or perform any task on the machine that isn't loaded into ram. If i happen to have something like htop already running i am able to end the process fine. Is there any type of utility/way to monitor for this type of runaway process and kill anything that uses 100% of system IO for more than X amount of time? Thanks!

  • Error starting JBoss 5.1.0

    I've installed JBoss 5.1.0 on a Xubuntu (running as a guest on VMWare - Windows 7 host). It did work fine for some days, but now I'm completelly unable to start it anymore. Every time I try to start it, I got a "Port 8x83 already in use". I've tried to run it with different ports configurations, and none of them works. I did look for the services using the problematic ports, using netstat and lsof, but they never show up. Since this error occurs in all port configurations, I think this is a Jboss problem.     I've been programming a site using: Zend Framework 1.11.5 (complete MVC) PHP 5.3.6 Apache 2.2.19 CentOS 5.6 i686 virtuozzo on vps cPanel WHM 11.30.1 (build 4) Mysql 5.1.56-log Mysqli API 5.1.56 The issue started here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6769515/php-programming-seg-fault. In brief, php is giving me random segmentation-faults. When i compile php with "--enable-debug" flag, i have to disable this line: zend_extension="/usr/local/IonCube/ioncube_loader_lin_5.3.so" Otherwise, the server doesn't accept requests and i get a "The connection with the server was reset". It is possible that i have to disable eaccelerator too because of the same reason. I still don't get why apache gets running it some times and some others not: extension="eaccelerator.so" Anyway, after i get httpd running, seg-faults can occurr randomly. If i don't compile php with "--enable-debug" flag, i can get DETERMINISTICALLY a php crash: <?php class Admin_DbController extends Controller_BaseController { public function updateSqlDefinitionsAction() { $db = Zend_Registry::get('db'); $row = $db->fetchRow("SHOW CREATE TABLE 222AFI"); } } ?> BUT if i compile php with "--enable-debug" flag, it's really hard to get this error.   • Need help with yum,python and php in CentOS. (I made a complete mess!)

    a while back I wanted to install some plugins for Trac but it required python 2.5 I tried installing it (I don't remember how) and the only thing I managed was to have two versions of python (2.4 and 2.5). Trac still uses the old version but the console uses 2.5 (python -V = Python 2.5.2). Anyway, the problem is not python, the problem is yum (which uses python). I am trying to upgrade my PHP version from 5.1.x to 5.2.x.
