  • PySide / PyQt QStyledItemDelegate list in table

    - by danodonovan
Dear All, I'm trying to create a table of lists in Python with Qt (PySide/PyQt - matters not) and my lists are squashed into the table cells. Is there a way to get the list delegates to 'pop out' of their cells? I've attached a simple code snippet - replace 'PySide' with 'PyQt4' depending on your preference from PySide import QtCore, QtGui class ListDelegate(QtGui.QStyledItemDelegate): def createEditor(self, parent, option, index): editor = QtGui.QListWidget(parent) for i in range( 12 ): editor.addItem('list item %d' % i) return editor if __name__ == '__main__': import sys app = QtGui.QApplication(sys.argv) model = QtGui.QStandardItemModel(2, 2) tableView = QtGui.QTableView() delegate = ListDelegate() tableView.setItemDelegate(delegate) tableView.setModel(model) for row in range(2): for column in range(2): item = QtGui.QStandardItem( 'None' ) model.setItem(row, column, item) tableView.setWindowTitle('example') tableView.show() sys.exit(app.exec_()) If you hadn't guessed I'm pretty new to this Qt lark Thanks in advance, Dan

  • What does msvc 6 throw when an integer divide by zero occurs?

    - by EvilTeach
    I have been doing a bit of experimenting, and have discovered that an exception is being thrown, when an integer divide by zero occurs. #include <iostream> #include <stdexcept> using namespace std; int main ( void ) { try { int x = 3; int y = 0; int z = x / y; cout << "Didn't throw or signal" << endl; } catch (std::exception &e) { cout << "Caught exception " << e.what() << endl; } return 0; } Clearly it is not throwing a std::exception. What else might it be throwing?

  • Using python to play two sin tones at once

    - by Alex
Im using python to a sine tone. the tone is based off the computers internal time in minutes, but id like to simultaneously play one based off the second for a harmonized or dualing sound. This is what I have so far can someone point me in the right direction. from struct import pack from math import sin, pi import time def au_file(name, freq, dur, vol): fout = open(name, 'wb') # header needs size, encoding=2, sampling_rate=8000, channel=1 fout.write('.snd' + pack('>5L', 24, 8*dur, 2, 8000, 1)) factor = 2 * pi * freq/8000 # write data for seg in range(8 * dur): # sine wave calculations sin_seg = sin(seg * factor) fout.write(pack('b', vol * 127 * sin_seg)) fout.close() t = time.strftime("%S", time.localtime()) ti = time.strftime("%M", time.localtime()) tis = float(t) tis = tis * 100 tim = float(ti) tim = tim * 100 if name == 'main': au_file(name='timeSound1.au', freq = tim, dur=1000, vol=1.0) import os os.startfile('timeSound1.au')

  • How to handle BL cache for multiple web applications?

    - by Eran Betzalel
I recently received a project that contains multiple web applications with no MVC structure. For starters I've created a library (DLL) that will contain the main Business Logic. The problem is with Caching - If I use the current web context cache object than I might end up with duplicate caching (as the web context will be different for every application). I'm currently thinking about implementing a simple caching mechanism with a singleton pattern that will allow the different web sites (aka different application domains) to share their "caching wisdom". I'd like to know what is the best way to solve this problem.

  • Why is there ambiguity in this diamond pattern?

    - by cambr
#include <iostream> using namespace std; class A { public: void eat(){ cout<<"A";} }; class B: public A { public: void eat(){ cout<<"B";} }; class C: public A { public: void eat(){ cout<<"C";} }; class D: public B,C { public: void eat(){ cout<<"D";} }; int main(){ A *a = new D(); a->eat(); } I am not sure this is called diamond problem or not, but why doesn't this work? When I said, a->eat() (remember eat() is not virtual), there is only one possible eat() to call, that of A. Why then, do I get this error: 'A' is an ambiguous base of 'D'

  • Implicit typing of arrays that implement interfaces

    - by Sir Psycho
Hi, I was under the impression that the C# compiler will implicitly type an array based off a type that they can all be implicitly converted to. The compiler generates No best type found for implicitly-typed array public interface ISomething {} public interface ISomething2 {} public interface ISomething3 {} public class Foo : ISomething { } public class Bar : ISomething, ISomething2 { } public class Car : ISomething, ISomething3 { } void Main() { var obj1 = new Foo(); var obj2 = new Bar(); var obj3 = new Car(); var objects= new [] { obj1, obj2, obj3 }; } I know that the way to correct this is to declare the type like: new ISomething [] { obj1, ...} But I'm after an under the covers type help here :-) Thanks

  • Tracking finger move in order to rotate a triangle : tracking is not perfect

    - by Laurent BERNABE
    I've written a custom view, with the OpenGL_1 technology, in order to let user rotate a red triangle just by dragging it along x axis. (Will give a rotation around Y axis). It works, but there is a bit of latency when dragging from one direction to the other (without releasing the mouse/finger). So it seems that my code is not yet "goal perfect". (I am convinced that no code is perfect in itself). I thought of using a quaternion, but maybe it won't be so usefull : must I really use a Quaternion (or a kind of Matrix) ? I've designed application for Android 4.0.3, but it could fit into Android api 3 (Android 1.5) as well (at least, I think it could). So here is my main layout : activity_main.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:orientation="vertical" > <com.laurent_bernabe.android.triangletournant3d.MyOpenGLView android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" /> </LinearLayout> Here is my main activity : MainActivity.java package com.laurent_bernabe.android.triangletournant3d; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.support.v4.app.NavUtils; import android.view.Menu; import android.view.MenuItem; public class MainActivity extends Activity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_main); } @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.activity_main, menu); return true; } @Override public boolean onOptionsItemSelected(MenuItem item) { switch (item.getItemId()) { case android.R.id.home: NavUtils.navigateUpFromSameTask(this); return true; } return super.onOptionsItemSelected(item); } } And finally, my OpenGL view MyOpenGLView.java package com.laurent_bernabe.android.triangletournant3d; import java.nio.ByteBuffer; import java.nio.ByteOrder; import java.nio.FloatBuffer; import javax.microedition.khronos.egl.EGLConfig; import javax.microedition.khronos.opengles.GL10; import android.content.Context; import android.graphics.Point; import android.opengl.GLSurfaceView; import android.opengl.GLSurfaceView.Renderer; import android.opengl.GLU; import android.util.AttributeSet; import android.view.MotionEvent; public class MyOpenGLView extends GLSurfaceView implements Renderer { public MyOpenGLView(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); setRenderer(this); } public MyOpenGLView(Context context) { this(context, null); } @Override public boolean onTouchEvent(MotionEvent event) { int actionMasked = event.getActionMasked(); switch(actionMasked){ case MotionEvent.ACTION_DOWN: savedClickLocation = new Point((int) event.getX(), (int) event.getY()); break; case MotionEvent.ACTION_UP: savedClickLocation = null; break; case MotionEvent.ACTION_MOVE: Point newClickLocation = new Point((int) event.getX(), (int) event.getY()); int dx = newClickLocation.x - savedClickLocation.x; angle += Math.toRadians(dx); break; } return true; } @Override public void onDrawFrame(GL10 gl) { gl.glClear(GL10.GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT | GL10.GL_DEPTH_BUFFER_BIT); gl.glLoadIdentity(); GLU.gluLookAt(gl, 0f, 0f, 5f, 0f, 0f, 0f, 0f, 1f, 0f ); gl.glRotatef(angle, 0f, 1f, 0f); gl.glColor4f(1f, 0f, 0f, 0f); gl.glVertexPointer(2, GL10.GL_FLOAT, 0, triangleCoordsBuff); gl.glDrawArrays(GL10.GL_TRIANGLES, 0, 3); } @Override public void onSurfaceChanged(GL10 gl, int width, int height) { gl.glViewport(0, 0, width, height); gl.glMatrixMode(GL10.GL_PROJECTION); gl.glLoadIdentity(); GLU.gluPerspective(gl, 60f, (float) width / height, 0.1f, 10f); gl.glMatrixMode(GL10.GL_MODELVIEW); } @Override public void onSurfaceCreated(GL10 gl, EGLConfig config) { gl.glEnable(GL10.GL_DEPTH_TEST); gl.glClearDepthf(1.0f); gl.glEnableClientState(GL10.GL_VERTEX_ARRAY); buildTriangleCoordsBuffer(); } private void buildTriangleCoordsBuffer() { ByteBuffer buffer = ByteBuffer.allocateDirect(4*triangleCoords.length); buffer.order(ByteOrder.nativeOrder()); triangleCoordsBuff = buffer.asFloatBuffer(); triangleCoordsBuff.put(triangleCoords); triangleCoordsBuff.rewind(); } private float [] triangleCoords = {-1f, -1f, +1f, -1f, +1f, +1f}; private FloatBuffer triangleCoordsBuff; private float angle = 0f; private Point savedClickLocation; } I don't think I really have to give you my manifest file. But I can if you think it is necessary. I've just tested on Emulator, not on real device. So, how can improve the reactivity ? Thanks in advance.

  • Erasing and modifying elements in Boost MultiIndex Container

    - by Sarah
I'm trying to use a Boost MultiIndex container in my simulation. My knowledge of C++ syntax is very weak, and I'm concerned I'm not properly removing an element from the container or deleting it from memory. I also need to modify elements, and I was hoping to confirm the syntax and basic philosophy here too. // main.cpp ... #include <boost/multi_index_container.hpp> #include <boost/multi_index/hashed_index.hpp> #include <boost/multi_index/member.hpp> #include <boost/multi_index/ordered_index.hpp> #include <boost/multi_index/mem_fun.hpp> #include <boost/tokenizer.hpp> #include <boost/shared_ptr.hpp> ... #include "Host.h" // class Host, all members private, using get fxns to access using boost::multi_index_container; using namespace boost::multi_index; typedef multi_index_container< boost::shared_ptr< Host >, indexed_by< hashed_unique< const_mem_fun<Host,int,&Host::getID> > // ordered_non_unique< BOOST_MULTI_INDEX_MEM_FUN(Host,int,&Host::getAge) > > // end indexed_by > HostContainer; typedef HostContainer::nth_index<0>::type HostsByID; int main() { ... HostContainer allHosts; Host * newHostPtr; newHostPtr = new Host( t, DOB, idCtr, 0, currentEvents ); allHosts.insert( boost::shared_ptr<Host>(newHostPtr) ); // allHosts gets filled up int randomHostID = 4; int newAge = 50; modifyHost( randomHostID, allHosts, newAge ); killHost( randomHostID, allHosts ); } void killHost( int id, HostContainer & hmap ){ HostsByID::iterator it = hmap.find( id ); cout << "Found host id " << (*it)->getID() << "Attempting to kill. hmap.size() before is " << hmap.size() << " and "; hmap.erase( it ); // Is this really erasing (freeing from mem) the underlying Host object? cout << hmap.size() << " after." << endl; } void modifyHost( int id, HostContainer & hmap, int newAge ){ HostsByID::iterator it = hmap.find( id ); (*it) -> setAge( newAge ); // Not actually the "modify" function for MultiIndex... } My questions are In the MultiIndex container allHosts of shared_ptrs to Host objects, is calling allHosts.erase( it ) on an iterator to the object's shared_ptr enough to delete the object permanently and free it from memory? It appears to be removing the shared_ptr from the container. The allhosts container currently has one functioning index that relies on the host's ID. If I introduce an ordered second index that calls on a member function (Host::getAge()), where the age changes over the course of the simulation, is the index always going to be updated when I refer to it? What is the difference between using the MultiIndex's modify to modify the age of the underlying object versus the approach I show above? I'm vaguely confused about what is assumed/required to be constant in MultiIndex. Thanks in advance. Update Here's my attempt to get the modify syntax working, based on what I see in a related Boost example. struct update_age { update_age():(){} // have no idea what this really does... elicits error void operator() (boost::shared_ptr<Host> ptr) { ptr->incrementAge(); // incrementAge() is a member function of class Host } }; and then in modifyHost, I'd have hmap.modify(it,update_age). Even if by some miracle this turns out to be right, I'd love some kind of explanation of what's going on.

  • How GC collects resources in a static member in C#?

    - by carter-boater
Dear all, I have a piece of code like this: Class Program { static StreamReader sr = null; static int var=0; static Program() { sr = new StreamReader("input.txt") } ~Program() { sr.Dispose(); } static void main(string args[]) { //do something with input here } } This may not be a good practice, but I just want to use this example to ask how the deconstructor and GC works. My question is: Will ~Program() get called at a non-determined time or it won't be called at all in this case. If the deconstructor won't get called, then how GC collect the unmanaged resources and managed resources. Thank you very much!

  • Accessing PerSession service simultaneously in WCF using C#

    - by krishna555
1.) I have a main method Processing, which takes string as an arguments and that string contains some x number of tasks. 2.) I have another method Status, which keeps track of first method by using two variables TotalTests and CurrentTest. which will be modified every time with in a loop in first method(Processing). 3.) When more than one client makes a call parallely to my web service to call the Processing method by passing a string, which has different tasks will take more time to process. so in the mean while clients will be using a second thread to call the Status method in the webservice to get the status of the first method. 4.) when point number 3 is being done all the clients are supposed to get the variables(TotalTests,CurrentTest) parallely with out being mixed up with other client requests. 5.) The code that i have provided below is getting mixed up variables results for all the clients when i make them as static. If i remove static for the variables then clients are just getting all 0's for these 2 variables and i am unable to fix it. Please take a look at the below code. • how to invoke onclick function in html from vb.net or C#

    - by vbNewbie
I am trying to invoke the onclick function in an html page that displays content. I am using the httpwebreqest control and not a browser control. I have traced the function and tried to find the link it calls but looking at the code below I tried inserting the link into the browser with the main url but it does not work. <div style="position:relative;" id="column_container"> <a href="#" onclick=" if (! loading_next_page) { loading_next_page = true; $('loading_recs_spinner').style.visibility = 'visible'; **new Ajax.Request('/recommendations?directory=non-profit&page=**' + next_page, { onComplete: function(transport) { if (200 == transport.status){ $('column_container').insert({ bottom: transport.responseText }); loading_next_page = false; $('loading_recs_spinner').style.visibility = 'hidden'; next_page += 1; if (transport.responseText.blank()) $('show_more_recs').hide(); } } }); } return false; Any ideas would be deeply appreciated.

  • SQL server 2008 Log shipping Failback

    - by MarcoF
I need to set up log shipping for about 10 databases. The primary server is accessed by our website and the secondary server is a BI server. What I am struggling to figure out at moment is the best way to handle a “failback” situation once a failover has occurred. How do I get the primary server back to being the main server for the website? Does anyone have any suggestions or best practices to handle a failback? We are using SQL server 2008.

  • Return a pointer to a char array in C

    - by snitko
I've seen a lot of questions on that on StackOverflow, but reading the answers did not clear that up for me, probably because I'm a total newbie in C programming. Here's the code: #include <stdio.h> char* squeeze(char s[], char c); main() { printf("%s", squeeze("hello", 'o')); } char* squeeze(char s[], char c) { int i, j; for(i = j = 0; s[i] != '\0'; i++) if(s[i] != c) s[j++] = s[i]; s[j] = '\0'; return s; } It compiles and I get segmentation fault when I run it. I've read this faq about about returning arrays and tried the 'static' technique that is suggested there, but still could not get the program working. Could anyone point out exactly what's wrong with it and what should I be paying attention in the future?

  • Can I expose only a portion of one .NET DLL's public classes via a different "API" DLL?

    - by Ben McIntosh
I am designing a WPF application that uses a DLL with maybe 40 public classes. I need these to be public for a variety of reasons including ease of data binding and obfuscation. I would like to allow other people to use only a portion of these classes as an API for my software. I thought I would create the main library (core.dll) and an API library (coreAPI.dll) with the API DLL to be referenced in a new project. Is there a way to allow coreAPI.dll to expose only a few of the classes that exist in core.dll? It's not so much a security issue as I primarily want to simply hide some of the unwanted classes from the Visual Studio Intellisense. Again, internal classes for the ones I want to hide is not really an option because I need to data bind some of these classes in WPF and for that, they must be public. Are there any other ways of doing this?

  • Why does does my stack overflow error occur after 518669 specifically?

    - by David
I created a java program to count up toward infinity: class up { public static void up (int n) { System.out.println (n) ; up (n+1) ; } public static void main (String[] arg) { up (1) ; } } i didn't actually expect it to get there but the thing that i noticed that was a bit curious was that it stopped at the same number each time: 518669 what is the significance of this number? (or of this number +1 i suppose). (also as a bit of an aside question, I've been told that the way i format my code is bad [indentation and such] what am i doing that isn't desirable?)

    I cant get my wifi card to work at all after upgrading to 11.10 Oneiric. I'm not sure where to start to fix this. Ive tried using the additional drivers tool but this shows that no additional drivers are needed. Before my upgrade I had a drivers working for the Rt2860 chipset. Any help on this would be much appreciated.... thanks Jon jon@ubuntu:~$ ifconfig eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:1d:72:ec:76:d5 inet addr:192.168.1.134 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::21d:72ff:feec:76d5/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:7846 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:7213 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:8046624 (8.0 MB) TX bytes:1329442 (1.3 MB) Interrupt:16 lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:91 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:91 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:34497 (34.4 KB) TX bytes:34497 (34.4 KB) Ive included by dmesg output below [ 0.428818] NET: Registered protocol family 2 [ 0.429003] IP route cache hash table entries: 131072 (order: 8, 1048576 bytes) [ 0.430562] TCP established hash table entries: 524288 (order: 11, 8388608 bytes) [ 0.436614] TCP bind hash table entries: 65536 (order: 8, 1048576 bytes) [ 0.437409] TCP: Hash tables configured (established 524288 bind 65536) [ 0.437412] TCP reno registered [ 0.437431] UDP hash table entries: 2048 (order: 4, 65536 bytes) [ 0.437482] UDP-Lite hash table entries: 2048 (order: 4, 65536 bytes) [ 0.437678] NET: Registered protocol family 1 [ 0.437705] pci 0000:00:02.0: Boot video device [ 0.437892] PCI: CLS 64 bytes, default 64 [ 0.437916] Simple Boot Flag at 0x57 set to 0x1 [ 0.438294] audit: initializing netlink socket (disabled) [ 0.438309] type=2000 audit(1319243447.432:1): initialized [ 0.440763] Freeing initrd memory: 13416k freed [ 0.468362] HugeTLB registered 2 MB page size, pre-allocated 0 pages [ 0.488192] VFS: Disk quotas dquot_6.5.2 [ 0.488254] Dquot-cache hash table entries: 512 (order 0, 4096 bytes) [ 0.488888] fuse init (API version 7.16) [ 0.488985] msgmni has been set to 5890 [ 0.489381] Block layer SCSI generic (bsg) driver version 0.4 loaded (major 253) [ 0.489413] io scheduler noop registered [ 0.489415] io scheduler deadline registered [ 0.489460] io scheduler cfq registered (default) [ 0.489583] pcieport 0000:00:1c.0: setting latency timer to 64 [ 0.489633] pcieport 0000:00:1c.0: irq 40 for MSI/MSI-X [ 0.489699] pcieport 0000:00:1c.1: setting latency timer to 64 [ 0.489741] pcieport 0000:00:1c.1: irq 41 for MSI/MSI-X [ 0.489800] pcieport 0000:00:1c.2: setting latency timer to 64 [ 0.489841] pcieport 0000:00:1c.2: irq 42 for MSI/MSI-X [ 0.489904] pcieport 0000:00:1c.3: setting latency timer to 64 [ 0.489944] pcieport 0000:00:1c.3: irq 43 for MSI/MSI-X [ 0.490006] pcieport 0000:00:1c.4: setting latency timer to 64 [ 0.490047] pcieport 0000:00:1c.4: irq 44 for MSI/MSI-X [ 0.490126] pci_hotplug: PCI Hot Plug PCI Core version: 0.5 [ 0.490149] pciehp: PCI Express Hot Plug Controller Driver version: 0.4 [ 0.490196] intel_idle: MWAIT substates: 0x1110 [ 0.490198] intel_idle: does not run on family 6 model 15 [ 0.491240] ACPI: Deprecated procfs I/F for AC is loaded, please retry with CONFIG_ACPI_PROCFS_POWER cleared [ 0.493473] ACPI: AC Adapter [ADP1] (on-line) [ 0.493590] input: Lid Switch as /devices/LNXSYSTM:00/device:00/PNP0C0D:00/input/input0 [ 0.496771] ACPI: Lid Switch [LID0] [ 0.496818] input: Sleep Button as /devices/LNXSYSTM:00/device:00/PNP0C0E:00/input/input1 [ 0.496823] ACPI: Sleep Button [SLPB] [ 0.496865] input: Power Button as /devices/LNXSYSTM:00/LNXPWRBN:00/input/input2 [ 0.496869] ACPI: Power Button [PWRF] [ 0.496900] ACPI: acpi_idle registered with cpuidle [ 0.498719] Monitor-Mwait will be used to enter C-1 state [ 0.498753] Monitor-Mwait will be used to enter C-2 state [ 0.498761] Marking TSC unstable due to TSC halts in idle [ 0.517627] thermal LNXTHERM:00: registered as thermal_zone0 [ 0.517630] ACPI: Thermal Zone [TZS0] (67 C) [ 0.524796] thermal LNXTHERM:01: registered as thermal_zone1 [ 0.524799] ACPI: Thermal Zone [TZS1] (67 C) [ 0.524823] ACPI: Deprecated procfs I/F for battery is loaded, please retry with CONFIG_ACPI_PROCFS_POWER cleared [ 0.524852] ERST: Table is not found!   • How can I prompt for input using Selenium/Webdriver and use the result?

    - by Tempus
I would like to allow for user input and make some decisions based on it. If I do this: driver.execute_script("prompt('Enter smth','smth')") I get a nice prompt, but I cannot use it's value. Is there any way of showing an input box to the user, and use the value typed there? EDIT: This is my script: from selenium.webdriver import Firefox if __name__ == "__main__": driver = Firefox() driver.execute_script("window.promptResponse=prompt('Enter smth','smth')") a = driver.execute_script("var win = this.browserbot.getUserWindow(); return win.promptResponse") print "got back %s" % a And this exits with the following exception: a = driver.execute_script("var win = this.browserbot.getUserWindow(); return win.promptResponse") File "c:\python26\lib\site-packages\selenium-2.12.1-py2.6.egg\selenium\webdriver\remote\webdriver.py", line 385, in ex ecute_script {'script': script, 'args':converted_args})['value'] File "c:\python26\lib\site-packages\selenium-2.12.1-py2.6.egg\selenium\webdriver\remote\webdriver.py", line 153, in ex ecute self.error_handler.check_response(response) File "c:\python26\lib\site-packages\selenium-2.12.1-py2.6.egg\selenium\webdriver\remote\errorhandler.py", line 110, in check_response if 'message' in value: TypeError: argument of type 'NoneType' is not iterable What am I not doing right?

  • non-class rvalues always have cv-unqualified types

    - by FredOverflow
§3.10 section 9 says "non-class rvalues always have cv-unqualified types". That made me wonder... int foo() { return 5; } const int bar() { return 5; } void pass_int(int&& i) { std::cout << "rvalue\n"; } void pass_int(const int&& i) { std::cout << "const rvalue\n"; } int main() { pass_int(foo()); // prints "rvalue" pass_int(bar()); // prints "const rvalue" } According to the standard, there is no such thing as a const rvalue for non-class types, yet bar() prefers to bind to const int&&. Is this a compiler bug? EDIT: Apparently, this is also a const rvalue :)

  • How to store a reference to an integer in C#?

    - by Jonathon Reinhart
Hello everyone - tell me how to make this work? Basically, I need an integer reference type (int* would work in C++) class Bar { private ref int m_ref; // This doesn't exist public A(ref int val) { m_ref = val; } public void AddOne() { m_ref++; } } class Program { static void main() { int foo = 7; Bar b = new Bar(ref foo); b.AddOne(); Console.WriteLine(foo); // This should print '8' } } Do I have to use boxing?

  • ASP.NET 32-bit machine compiled now trying to run on 64-bit machine

    - by user54064
I have an ASP.NET app that was compiled on a 32-bit machine. There are many different assemblies that are referenced. I opened the web site's main dll with ILDASM and looked at the .corflags. It stated it was ILONLY. However, when I run the web site locally on the 64-bit machine (Windows XP Pro 64-bit), I get "is not a valid Win32 applciation". Shouldn't the app run as 64-bit since it was compiled with "AnyCPU"? How can I get this to work? I am using .NET 3.5.

  • Javascript top variable in IE8

    - by Jim Rootham
I am trying to reference a javascript function in a .js file loaded in my main page from an iframe using the 'top' variable. It works in FF, Safari, and IE6 but not in IE8. The snippet is (assigned to onmouseover): top.set_image(this, 'images/login_h.png') Where set_image is my function. The error is "Object does not support this function" Also, I have been looking for the definition of top. I can't find it in the ECMAScript specification or the w3schools site and Google is unhelpful (who'da thunk top was a common word?).

  • reading a string with spaces with sscanf

    - by SDLFunTimes
For a project I'm trying to read an int and a string from a string. The only problem is sscanf appears to break reading an %s when it sees a space. Is there anyway to get around this limitation? Here's an example of what I'm trying to do: #include<stdio.h> #include<stdlib.h> int main(int argc, char** argv) { int age; char* buffer; buffer = malloc(200 * sizeof(char)); sscanf("19 cool kid", "%d %s", &age, buffer); printf("%s is %d years old\n", buffer, age); return 0; } What it prints is: "cool is 19 years old" where I need "cool kid is 19 years old". Does anyone know how to fix this?
