  • Document Stored in File System Text Searching and Filtering required in ASP .Net Application

    - by Harryboy
    Hello Experts, We are building a jobsite application in which we will store resumes of all the candidates, which is planned to store on file system. Now We need to search inside that file and provide the result to the user, we need to provide that what is the best solution to implement text searching. I have just tried to identify it and got some reference like IFilter (API or interface) and Lucene.Net (open source), but not sure that is it a right solution. In initial phase it is expected to be around 50,000 resumes and it should be scalable enough if number increases. I just want some case study or some analysis or your suggestions that which is the best method to handle this requirement (Technology ASP .Net) Thanks

  • can't write to physical drive in win 7??

    - by matt
    I wrote a disk utility that allowed you to erase whole physical drives. it uses the windows file api, calling : destFile = CreateFile("\\.\PhysicalDrive1", GENERIC_WRITE, FILE_SHARE_READ | FILE_SHARE_WRITE, NULL, OPEN_EXISTING,createflags, NULL); and then just calling WriteFile, and making sure you write in multiples of sectors, i.e. 512 bytes. this worked fine in the past, on XP, and even on the Win7 RC, all you have to do is make sure you are running it as an administrator. but now I have retail Win7 professional, it doesn't work anymore! the drives still open fine for writing, but calling WriteFile on the successfully opened Drive now fails! does anyone know why this might be? could it have something to do with opening it with shared flags? this is always what I have done before, and its worked. could it be that something is now sharing the drive? blocking the writes? is there some way to properly "unmount" A drive, or atleast the partitions on it so that I would have exclusive access to it? some other tools that used to work don't any more either, but some do, like the WD Diagnostic's erase functionality. and after it has erased the drive, my tool then works on it too! leading me to belive there is some "unmount" process I need to be doing to the drive first, to free up permission to write to it. Any ideas?

  • Write to file using CopyHere without using WScript.Sleep

    - by mlevit
    Hi guys, I've written a small VBScript to creates a .zip file and then copies the contents of a specified folder into that .zip file. I copy the files over one by one for a reason (I know I can do the whole lot at once). However my problem is when I try to copy them one by one without a WScript.Sleep between each loop iteration I get a "File not found or no read permission." error; if I place a WScript.Sleep 200 after each write it works but not 100% of the time. Pretty much I'd like to get rid of the Sleep function and not rely on that because depending on the file size it may take longer to write therefore 200 milliseconds may not be enough etc. As you can see with the small piece of code below, I loop through the files, then if they match the extension I place them into the .zip (zipFile) For Each file In folderToZip.Items For Each extension In fileExtensions if (InStr(file, extension)) Then zipFile.CopyHere(file) WScript.Sleep 200 Exit For End If Next Next Any suggestions on how I can stop relying on the Sleep function? Thanks

  • HttpModule to Write Out JavaScript Script References to the Response

    - by Chris
    On my page in the Page_Load event I add a collection of strings to the Context object. I have an HttpModule that will fire EndRequest and retrieve the collection of strings. What I then do is write out a script reference tag (based on the collection of strings) to the response. The problem is that the page reads the script reference but doesn't retrieve the contents of the file (I imagine because this is occurring in the EndRequest event). I can't fire the BeginRequest event because I won't have access to the Context Items collection. I tried to also registering an HttpHandler which Processes the request of the script reference but I can't access the collection of strings in the Context.Items from there. Any suggestions? Page_Load: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { Context.Items.Add("ScriptFile", "/UserControls.js"); } HttpModule: public void OnEndRequest(Object s, EventArgs e) { HttpApplication app = s as HttpApplication; object script = app.Context.Items["ScriptFile"]; app.Response.Write("<script type='text/javascript' src='" + script + "'></script>"); }

  • Ways to save enums in database

    - by corgrath
    Hey guys. I am wondering what the best ways to save enums into a database is. I know there are name() and valueOf() methods to make it into a String back. But are there any other (flexible) options to store these values? Is there a smart way to make them into unique numbers (ordinal() is not safe to use)? Any comments and suggestions would be helpful :) Update: Thanks for all awesome and fast answers! It was as I suspected. However a note to 'toolkit'; That is one way. The problem is that I would have to add the same methods with each enum type i create. Thats a lot of duplicated code and, at the moment, Java does not support any solutions to this (You cannot let enum extend other classes). However, thanks for all answers!

  • How do I send an XML document to an ASP.NET MVC page for manipuation

    - by Decker
    I have some hierarchical data stored as an multiple XML files on the server according to a vendor's schema. In my ASP.NET MVC (2!) application, I'd like the user to choose one of these hierarchies (i.e. file -- I provide a list in my controller's Index action). When the user selects one to "edit" my edit action should return a page that presents the XML hierarchy (it's a representation of a folder tree). So my thoughts are that the view would return HTML that contained a JQuery on load ajax call back to the server for the XML data -- at which point I would present the tree using one of the many JQuery tree controls. On the client side I'd like the user to manipulate the tree and when done, I'd like to post back the new hierarchy where I would replace the original XML file that represents that hierarchy. So my questions are: What form should I use to send the data down? XML or JSON?. If I send down XML then I would have to not only read the XML -- which JQuery can do -- but I would also have to be able to modify that XML and then send it back. Can I use JQuery to modify this XML DOM? And will all the namespace declarations be preserved? What form should I send the data back? If I originally sent the client the hierarchy as JSON (using JsonResult), then presumably I would have a hierarchy of javascript objects. What options would I have to post that back? Would I have to recreate the XML reprentation on the client and post that back? Or should I serialize back to JSON, post that to the server, and then have the server do the work of recreating the XML according to the schema. Thanks for any advice.

  • XMLReader mysteriously fails when parsing document

    - by Valrus
    I have a php script that takes in some XML data and parses it, displaying various bits of information I pull out of it. This has been working fine for over 6 months, until recently it now fails mysteriously on a certain tag. The XML is generated from an outside source(a conferencing bridge), so I have no control over how it is built. I have put the xml through an online validator and it returned no errors. The code also works fine when I connect to another conferencing bridge and get the same output. I have been using XMLReader class so far and tried switching to SmipleXML, but it fails when I create the SimpleXML object using the data. Here is the snippet of where it fails while parsing: <CDR_SUMMARY> <FILE_VERSION>1001</FILE_VERSION> <NAME>Conference Title Hidden</NAME> <ID>10227</ID> <STATUS_STR>Auto_termination,_everybody_quit</STATUS_STR> <STATUS>4</STATUS> <GMT_OFFSET>-4</GMT_OFFSET> <START_TIME>2010-04-14T15:00:33</START_TIME> <DURATION> <HOUR>0</HOUR> <MINUTE>39</MINUTE> <SECOND>37</SECOND> </DURATION> <RESERVE_START_TIME>2010-04-14T15:00:33</RESERVE_START_TIME> <RESERVE_DURATION> <HOUR>12</HOUR> <MINUTE>0</MINUTE> <SECOND>0</SECOND> </RESERVE_DURATION> <MCU_FILE_NAME>c11</MCU_FILE_NAME> <FILE_SAVED>0</FILE_SAVED> <GMT_OFFSET_MINUTE>0</GMT_OFFSET_MINUTE> </CDR_SUMMARY> The <SOUND> opening tag is the last one read before failing. And this is my code: `public function processResponse($xml) { print "Processing List..."; $reader = new XMLReader($xml); try { $reader->setSchema("./schemas/response_trans_cdr_list.xsd"); } catch(Exception $e) { print "Exception:".$e->getMessage(); } //verify xml if($reader->xml($xml)) { while($reader->read()) { //$currentstring = $reader->readstring(); if($reader->name === "ACTION") { //into meat of resposnse while($reader->read()) { //print "Looping..."; //$currentstring = $reader->readInnerXML(); //print $currentstring; if($reader->nodeType == XMLReader::ELEMENT) { if($reader->name === "ID") { $this->conferenceIDs[$this->counter] = $reader->readString(); print "<BR>Conf ID found: ".$this->counter." ID: ".$this->conferenceIDs[$this->counter]; $this->counter += 1; } else if($reader->name === "START_TIME") { //conference start time. print "<BR>Start Time Found! "; $this->conferenceStarts[$this->counter-1] = $reader->readString(); } else if($reader->name === "NAME") { print "<BR> Name Found!"; $this->conferenceNames[$this->counter] = $reader->readString(); } else if($reader->name === "MCU_FILE_NAME") { print "<BR> MCU_FILE_NAME Found!"; //print $this->counter." File Name: ".$reader->readstring()."<BR>"; } else if($reader->name === "RESERVE_START_TIME") { print "<BR> RESERVE_START_TIME Found!"; } else if($reader->name === "FILE_VERSION") { print "<BR> FILE_VERSION Found!"; } else if($reader->name === "STATUS_STR") { print "<BR> STATUS_STR Found!"; } else if($reader->name === "STATUS") { print "<BR> STATUS Found!"; } else if($reader->name === "GMT_OFFSET") { print "<BR> GMT_OFFSET Found!"; } else if($reader->name === "DURATION") { print "<BR> DURATION Found!"; } else if($reader->name === "RESERVE_START_TIME") { print "<BR> RESERVE_START_TIME Found!"; } else if($reader->name === "RESERVE_DURATION") { print "<BR> RESERVE_DURATION Found!"; } else if($reader->name === "FILE_SAVED") { print "<BR> FILE_SAVED Found!"; } else if($reader->name === "GMT_OFFSET_MINUTE") { print "<BR> GMT_OFFSET_MINUTE Found!"; } else if($reader->name === "HOUR") { print "<BR> HOUR Found!"; } else if($reader->name === "MINUTE") { print "<BR> MINUTE Found!"; } else if($reader->name === "SECOND") { print "<BR> SECOND Found!"; } }else if($reader->nodeType == XMLReader::END_ELEMENT) { print "Close Element".$reader->name; } } print "End Action Loop"; } } } else { print "Error reading response: Bad XML returned"; } }` Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this failure? the code exits gracefully and I see the "End Action Loop" message in my output. It's like it just spontaneously exits the loop.

  • How to include file outside document root?

    - by Brayn
    Hey, What I want do to is to include 'file1.php' from 'domain1' into 'file2.php' on 'domain2'. So what I figured I should do is something like this: file2.php require_once '/var/www/vhosts/domain1/httpdocs/file1.php'; But this won't work for reasons I can't truly grasp. So what I did was to add my path to the include path. Something like: file2.php set_include_path(get_include_path() . PATH_SEPARATOR . "/var/www/vhosts/domain1/httpdocs"); require_once 'file1.php'; So can you please give me some hints as of where I'm doing wrong ? Thanks UPDATE - Either way I get the following error message: Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/var/www/vhosts/domain1/httpdocs/file1.php' (include_path='.:/php/includes:/usr/share/pear/') in /var/www/vhosts/domain2/httpdocs/file2.php on line 4 Also I have tried this both with safe_mode On and Off. UPDATE2: Also I've changed the permissions to 777 on my test file and I've double-checked the paths to the include file in bash.

  • Creating .ics file from code sometimes givs "The file <filename>[<index>].ics" is not a valid intern

    - by KaJo
    Hi! I am building an ASP site where i use response.write to create an ics file where user can choose open or save dialog for the event. When the user choose open, outlook sometimes gives the error "The file [].ics" is not a valid internet Calender file"? It is always the same event that is written to the response. The code looks like this: this.Response.ContentType = "text/calendar"; this.Response.AddHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache, must-revalidate"); this.Response.AddHeader("Pragma", "no-cache"); this.Response.Expires = -1; this.Response.AddHeader("Content-disposition", string.Format("attachment; filename={0}.ics",filename)); this.Response.Write("BEGIN:VCALENDAR"); this.Response.Write("\nVERSION:2.0"); this.Response.Write("\nMETHOD:PUBLISH"); this.Response.Write("\nBEGIN:VEVENT"); this.Response.Write("\nType:Single Meeting"); this.Response.Write("\nORGANIZER:MAILTO:" + organizer); this.Response.Write("\nDTSTART:" + startDate.ToUniversalTime().ToString(DateFormat)); this.Response.Write("\nDTEND:" + endDate.ToUniversalTime().ToString(DateFormat)); this.Response.Write("\nLOCATION:" + location); this.Response.Write("\nUID:" + Guid.NewGuid().ToString()); this.Response.Write("\nDTSTAMP:" + DateTime.Now.ToUniversalTime().ToString(DateFormat)); this.Response.Write("\nSUMMARY:" + summary); this.Response.Write("\nDESCRIPTION:" + description); this.Response.Write("\nPRIORITY:5"); this.Response.Write("\nCLASS:PUBLIC"); this.Response.Write("\nEND:VEVENT"); this.Response.Write("\nEND:VCALENDAR"); this.Response.End(); I usually get the error the first time I try to open the event in outlook, and the it works the second time? Does anyone knows how to solve this problem?

  • Use web interface to modify htaccess file

    - by justinl
    The solution to a previous question (How to implement “Maintenance Mode” on already established website), was to use a modified .htaccess to deny IP addresses. What is the best way to use a web interface to modify an .htaccess file? What I want is a way for an admin to log in to the admin area and switch Maintenance Mode on and off using a basic html form. I'm using PHP and I'm already using an .htaccess file for a handful of ReWriting.

  • Rails 3 get raw post data and write it to tmp file

    - by Andrew
    I'm working on implementing Ajax-Upload for uploading photos in my Rails 3 app. The documentation says: For IE6-8, Opera, older versions of other browsers you get the file as you normally do with regular form-base uploads. For browsers which upload file with progress bar, you will need to get the raw post data and write it to the file. So, how can I receive the raw post data in my controller and write it to a tmp file so my controller can then process it? (In my case the controller is doing some image manipulation and saving to S3.) Some additional info: As I'm configured right now the post is passing these parameters: Parameters: {"authenticity_token"=>"...", "qqfile"=>"IMG_0064.jpg"} ... and the CREATE action looks like this: def create @attachment = Attachment.new @attachment.user = current_user @attachment.file = params[:qqfile] if @attachment.save! respond_to do |format| format.js { render :text => '{"success":true}' } end end end ... but I get this error: ActiveRecord::RecordInvalid (Validation failed: File file name must be set.): app/controllers/attachments_controller.rb:7:in `create'

  • Automatically grow document view of NSScrollView using auto layout?

    - by Monolo
    Is there a simple way to get an NSScrollView to adapt to its document view changing size when using autolayout (the Lion feature)? I have tried to call both setNeedsUpdateConstraints: and setNeedsLayout: on the document view, the clip view and the scroll view, without any results. fittingSize of the document view reports the correct size. An NSPopover in conjunction with an NSViewController handles this nicely, with the popover growing and shrinking as needed, and I was hoping to get a similar simple and robust behaviour with the scroll view. I have checked the documentation for scroll views, but they don't seem to be updated to use autolayout. Edited to clarify: The problem I experience is that the document view, which holds subviews, is not re-sized when the subviews change their size, even if they call invalidateIntrinsicContentSize. The contents of the document view are hence clipped to the original size of the document view as they grow. The document view is created in a nib and set as the scroll view's document view in an awakeFromBib method. What I hoped to obtain was that the document view frame would automatically be adjusted to when its fittingSize changes, and the scrollbars updated accordingly. NSPopover does something similar - provided that the subviews of the content controller's view have the constraints set right and various content hugging values are high enough (higher than the hidden popover window's hight constraint priority, for one).

  • write html content from javascript

    - by Nikita Rybak
    There's one thing I want to do with javascript, but don't know how. In a perfect world it would look like this: <p>My very cool page!</p> <script type="text/javascript"> document.write('<div>some content</div>'); </script> And this script would insert <div>some content</div> right before (or after, or instead of) script tag. But in the real world, document.write starts writing html anew, removing any static content in the page (<p> tag, in this case). This is simplified example, but should give you the idea. I know that I can statically put <div id="some_id"></div> before script tag and insert html in it from js, but I wanna be able to use multiple instances of this snippet without changing it (generating random id manually) each time. I'm ok to use jquery or any other existing library as well. Is there any way to achieve this? Thanks!

  • Trying to write a video file using OpenCV

    - by Ted pottel
    Hi , I’m trying to use OpenCV to write a video file. I have a simple program that loads frames from a video file then accepts to save them At first the cvCreateVideoWrite always return NULL. I got a answer from your group saying it returns separate images and to try to change the file name to test0001.png, this worked. But now the cvWriteFrame function always fails, the code is CString path; path="d:\\mice\\Test_Day26_2.avi"; CvCapture* capture = cvCaptureFromAVI(path); IplImage* img = 0; CvVideoWriter *writer = 0; int isColor = 1; int fps = 25; // or 30 int frameW = 640; // 744 for firewire cameras int frameH = 480; // 480 for firewire cameras writer=cvCreateVideoWriter("d:\\mice\\test0001.png",CV_FOURCC('P','I','M','1'), fps,cvSize(frameW,frameH),isColor); if (writer==0) MessageBox("could not open writter"); int nFrames = 50; for(int i=0;i<nFrames;i++){ if (!cvGrabFrame(capture)) MessageBox("could not grab frame"); img=cvRetrieveFrame(capture); // retrieve the captured frame if (img==0) MessageBox("could not retrive data"); if (!cvWriteFrame(writer,img) ) MessageBox("could not write frame"); } cvReleaseVideoWriter(&writer); Any help would be GREAT - Ted

  • java.io.FileNotFoundException (Permission denied) When trying to write to the Android sdcard

    - by joefischer1
    I am trying to select an image file from the photo gallery and write to the sdcard. Below is the code that results in an exception. It appears to throw this exception when trying to create the FileOutputStream. I have the following line added to the manifest file nested inside the application element. I can't find a solution to the problem: <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" /> public boolean saveSelectedImage( Uri selectedImage, int imageGroup, int imageNumber ) { boolean exception = false; InputStream input = null; OutputStream output = null; if( externalStorageIsWritable() ) { try { ContentResolver content = ctx.getContentResolver(); input = content.openInputStream( selectedImage ); if(input != null) Log.v( CLASS_NAME, "Input Stream Opened successfully"); File outFile = null; File root = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory( ); if(root == null) Log.v(CLASS_NAME, "FAILED TO RETRIEVE DIRECTORY"); else Log.v(CLASS_NAME, "ROOT DIRECTORY is:"+root.toString()); output = new FileOutputStream( root+"/Image"+ imageGroup + "_" + imageNumber + ".png" ); if(output != null) Log.e( CLASS_NAME, "Output Stream Opened successfully"); // output = new FileOutputStream // ("/sdcard/Image"+imageGroup+"_"+imageNumber+".png"); byte[] buffer = new byte[1000]; int bytesRead = 0; while ( ( bytesRead = input.read( buffer, 0, buffer.length ) ) >= 0 ) { output.write( buffer, 0, buffer.length ); } } catch ( Exception e ) { Log.e( CLASS_NAME, "Exception occurred while moving image: "); e.printStackTrace(); exception = true; } finally { // if(input != null)input.close(); // if(output != null)output.close(); // if (exception ) return false; } return true; } else return false; }
